Such a bad experience! (Staggering!) I was returning from out of state with my wife to be here for a checkup and my next cleaning that was scheduled. The time had been changed by Nikoles office to early morning (something to do with the current pandemic!). We were in route Sunday when I received a text that my appointment was canceled. It said Nikoles dog had died! (No big deal I thought, I’ll get it rescheduled). The text didn’t distinguish between the checkup with Nikole and the cleaning with the hygienist, so out of diligence I popped into the office at 7:30 am as originally scheduled. Having determined that all was canceled I said to the receptionist (who appeared to be the only one there, in the office at 7:30) that I would call to reschedule. She said she could reschedule me right then and there but I reiterated that I would like to call to reschedule and I went out. I was wearing a mask as is now required, and I stayed near the door and spoke from there rather then come up to the receptionist desk. When I call the next day to reschedule I leave a recorded message as nobody answers. On Thursday I call again and am told Nikole would like to talk to me and would call me back. When I got no call I called her cellphone on Friday when the office was closed. When I do get hold of Nikole she tells me that I have upset her receptionist- she really tells me off and says she can’t help me anymore- she will be dropping me as a client. She gives no explanation of how or what bothered her receptionist. Period. End of story! Nikole was very unkind with her words and undefined accusation! It hurt me because I’m a sensitive person who cares about things. I can’t even talk to Nikole, she won’t listen; but, as I tried to talk to find out anything I referred to the girl at the desk; Nikole focused on my use of the words the girl instead; She said I called her “the girl” and that that was a problem between her and me!! (I was under stress when I used those words, over the phone, not in the presence of the person being referred to, not meant with disrespect, and I don’t believe I should have to explain). That judgement on my wording seemed to reveal some kind of deep contempt for me which I can’t explain and don’t know where it’s coming from. I think maybe the receptionist felt jilted that when she said she could “reschedule me Now” I said that no, I would call to reschedule (why jilted about that I have no idea. Obviously I’m not required to reschedule my appointment at that moment and I’m free to walk out of that office- I can’t believe I’m even saying this. She had just offered to reschedule me so I feel like now that is evidence that everything was okay up till that point. So was it something about how I exited the office? Was it abrupt? I did mention that I never had taken off my mask or come up to the receptionist desk- I was by the door. I was there all of 2 minutes. In any case there has been no explanation. I can just say I didn’t yell, curse, be abusive with language, point a finger or accuse; I didn’t even complain about my appointment being canceled without what would be considered as sufficient notice. Now I have not received any apology for the abrupt cancellation. I have been accused of something undefined. I have been told off personally; I have been dropped as a client, overdue for the cleaning that is supposedly important to keep on schedule, to go try to find a new dentist that will take me as a new patient in the middle of a pandemic. And I’m just thinking, I hope the new dentist will tell me that the $16k I’ve spent on my teeth recently (at Nikoles direction) was well spent. I’m suddenly not as confident in anything Nikole has told me. I think the actual dental work was good, it’s just everything else that wasn’t. I don’t remember any other time I’ve had such bad treatment anywhere!! I have reached out to Nikole, by text, and have received no response. I was also looking for a referral to another dentist, which Nikole had suggested She would provide, also no response. That’s why I changed my 2 star rating to 1

Honestly I’ve had good experiences here until today. But today was so annoying it cancels out any good. My wife had an appointment today and I took off work to watch our kids. We’ve had issues with insurance and my wife’s benefits weren’t activated properly, but that is getting worked out. On May 10th my wife called to ask the dentist if she should still come in or reschedule due to insurance. The receptionist said it is up to us and that she’d even call my wife back, as the picture of our text exchange shows. That phone call took 1 minute as the picture shows. Today my wife showed up to her appointment only to be told it was cancelled. The same receptionist told her it was cancelled during the phone call from May 10th. I called immediately to talk to the receptionist and she said she talked to my wife for 30 minutes (was she talking for 29 minutes after my wife hung up?!?). I said my wife’s first language is not English and if you were going to cancel the appointment a confirmation email or text would be nice. I asked the receptionist what happens if a patient cancels an appointment the same day and was told a $75 fee is charged to the patient. I asked for the same courtesy, but was told that is not their policy. Good to know this place places high importance on their time but do not value the time of their patients. I told her we’d no longer be patients there. And I wouldn’t recommend this place if English isn’t your first language. This is a reminder in writing to please cancel any future appointments so I don’t get charged $75.

Dr. O'Bryan inherited me when she took over Dr. Hardwick's practice and I am so glad. She is utterly amazing. You won't find better care anywhere else. Everyone in the office is wonderful. I actually look forward to coming here, I can't say enough how great this team is. And beyond the personalities of everyone here, the technology and actual work they do is perfection. Dr. O'Bryan knows what she's doing and she knows the best way to take care of your specific issues. Edit: I scrolled down and saw a 2 star review and I'm guessing that dude was having a bad day, cause the Dr. has never been anything but kind to all of her patients. I also notice his review doesn't mention the care he received but it talks about how many times the female staff smiled at him and how much attention they gave him. Um...

I just had my first post-COVID dental visit, at Nikole O'Bryan DMD, PLLC. Dr. O'Bryan and her staff were professional and friendly, and I felt safe at all times. I have been a patient here since 1986 when Dr. John Hardwick owned and ran this business under the name "The Ave." Dr. O'Bryan has continued the same high standards as her predecessor, which explains why I am still a patient after 34 years. The fact that I still have all my teeth (except for the wisdom teeth) and a single crown at age 68, is a testament to both the care that I have received, and the effective self-care that Dr. O'Bryan and her staff have taught and encourage me to make part of my daily routine. This place is awesome.

Dr. O'Bryan and her entire staff make you WANT to go to the dentist! Our family has had nothing but excellent results at every appointment. Every phone call is met with a cheery voice. The customer service is unbeatable. The hygienists are thorough, caring and extremely qualified. We are coached and encouraged on good dental care, but when we do need Dr. O'Bryan's handiwork for something major, she and her staff are better than any dentist I've ever had. Also, there is plenty of free parking on University Way NE just north of NE 50th St, or several buses come very close to their office. We have recommended Dr. O'Bryan to many people, and will continue to rave about her and her staff!

Nikole is a serious perfectionist, in the best way! She is also super ethical and will not stand for second rate care! She basically schooled me on my youngest sons' orthodontic work that was being done awhile back. Her insistence forced us to take a long hard look at the results and how we were being treated. This was a pretty big mess to get through and she was incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond what was called for, acting on our behalf and ultimately setting us up with another provider, none of this being any benefit to her other than my son's well being. Great work, great cosmetic work, awesome front desk! 5 stars in all categories.

Dr O'Bryan's dental care is thorough and comprehensive , the staff are effective and due to my insurance constraints Dr. O'Bryan presented me with an in house yearly payment that covers my visits and all other standard procedures at a cost that is better than my usual dental bill. This makes it more affordable to get in to visit the Doc and maintain my dental health. The office is relaxing and I would think it would set kids at ease due to the subdued colors and pleasant surroundings. The staff is gentle and reassuring so the cringe of going to the dentist is all but alleviated . Thanks Dr. O'Bryan and staff for your courteous care.

Dr. O'bryan surprises me. I was getting my teeth cleaned and mentioned that my night guard was not giving my lower teeth a place to rest at night and I was afraid that I was tightening them, teeth on the guard. She made a point to come in and check my guard to see if there was something that needed to be done. After tap-tap-tap with the marking paper, she decided that it was fine and I could just relax because my teeth are strong and no harm will be done. She gives you her best and I have every confidence in her and her team. Glad I found her! Oh and after my cleaning, my teeth were so beautiful and white. Good job Christina!

Dr. O'Bryan recommended two bunk procedures for my 1-year-old daughter -- a frenectomy to "prevent speech delays" and jaw exercises to strengthen her muscles "to improve her bite." I looked into the research behind her recommendations, and both stem from discredited practices not covered by insurance and profiled as predatory in major news outlets. Dr. O'Bryan also pushed for other upsell services during my appointments, none of which were covered by my insurance. I've since switched to a different dentist and feel much less pressure. Everyone at the practice was nice enough, but in hindsight, it definitely felt scammy.

I still come to Nikole O’Bryan all the way from Whidbey Island because her office and she offer the best experience I’ve found at the most affordable price. She participates in my Delta Dental plan without a complaint about using the insurance system, which makes excellent dental care affordable for me. We have some special dentistry needs in my family, and she is attentive and cheerfully attuned to our unique situation. In addition, everyone in the office is so easy to communicate with, warm and friendly. Can you imagine that going to the dentist could be a pleasant experience? It is at Nikole O’Bryan’s office!

Dr. O’Bryan is probably the best dentist I’ve ever had (and I’ve had several)! Extremely professional, very experienced and SO passionate about her patients. I’ve had to get several procedures done over the course of the last several years, some of which would’ve been quite painful but Dr. O’Bryan handles them with utmost ease - I can barely ever feel it! Her team is equally great and super flexible even with some of the most frustrating things like scheduling. I recently told Dr. O’Bryan that I hope she never retires, she is THAT good! There are several reasons why I continue going to Dr. O'Bryan: She communicates and explains everything so that you understand; She is conservative and won't have you do any unnecessary procedures; If she does not do a certain procedure at her office, she has a great source of referrals for specialists if needed; Her and her staff all have great bedside manner - funny, real, respectful and professional. When I mentioned my need for a routine dental exam, my coworker enthusiastically recommended Dr. O'Bryan. In that moment, I realized how rare a glowing recommendation is for a dental professional. It's not their fault. I mean, having your mouth probed by a person in a strange mask is fun for no one. I genuinely enjoyed my visit. Dr. O'Bryan is not like other dentists. She is kind, respectful, and nonjudgmental. I was not scolded for the three year gap between dental exams, only given thoughtful advice on how to best take care of my teeth. Her staff is lovely too. Emergency Treatment - I am extremely impressed with Nikole O'Bryan's professional yet comfortable office. I was seen immediately after falling and taking quite a hit to my front teeth. Due to the fact that this is going to be a costly experience I need to seek offices that honor my plan and the union I am represented by to see if I need to have the procedure done elsewhere. I wish I didn't have to because this office, the staff and Nikole O'Bryan are amazing. It is so convenient for me as well. I give them the highest rating possible and definitely would recommend their office to others.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. O'Bryan. I transferred my dental care to her when my dentist of many years retired. Dr. O'Bryan provided the most comprehensive dental evaluation that I have ever received (and I am 60 and have needed a good deal of dental care over the years.) She was warm, kind, and collaborative. I also appreciated the excellent care I received from the dental assistant and dental hygienist. And the staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. I came home and told my husband about my experience and he immediately scheduled an exam.

I have been a patient of Dr. O’Bryan’s since she took over my previous dentist’s practice. She is very personable and caring. I broke my front teeth as a child. They had been repaired, but they weren’t aesthetically pleasing. In fact, I felt self-conscious of my looks and this was impacting my choices in life. I wanted to have my teeth restored but I just couldn’t afford it. Dr. O’Bryan worked with me to make it affordable. She takes an artist’s view to restoration. Many years later my teeth are still beautiful. I wouldn’t trust my care to anyone else.

Dr. O'Bryan has been my dentist for many years, and I have total confidence in the care she has provided me for my "difficult" mouth. When my son's previous dentist was going to pull multiple teeth, I recommended my son see Dr. O'Bryan for a second opinion. Dr. O'Bryan solved my son's dental problems without pulling any teeth, and my son now drives about 40 miles round trip to see Dr. O'Bryan for all his dental care. Dr. O'Bryan has implemented very thorough procedures for COVID-19 protections.

I was a first time patient going in for my basic cleaning and check-up. The front desk staff were awesome - professional, quick, and so nice! The woman who did my x-rays was very gentle and patient with my small mouth. The hygienist did a great job with the cleaning and gave me better floss than I use at home. I've been going to Nikole for 10 years or so. She came recommended by my dentist back in Boston, who was a classmate of hers back in dental school (apparently she was always top of the class). Never had a better dentist. That's saying a lot, because I'm Australian and we HATE going to the dentist. I now live out in Issaquah but still make the trek to see Nikole any time I need dental care.

Being an extremely nervous dental patient, I would often not get dental check-ups for extremely long periods of time. I was referred to Dr. O'Bryan who created a personalized patient protocol that decreased my anxiety substantially. She and her team have been treating me for several years now and I have not missed a cleaning or procedure yet. Hooray, for very kind and patient people !

I went to Dr. O'bryan's practice shortly after moving to Seattle. They were clean, professional, very friendly, and concerned with my dental & overall health (rather than, say, cosmetic dentistry). They accept GAIP insurance. I would highly recommend this office to anyone shopping for dentistry.
