I booked no.1 removals as a removal service for my 1 bedroom flat. I made sure to message as to the level of service I would be getting, and fully discussed all the major items that would need moving. They agreed and we agreed to use them at £65 per hour, and that under their advice, that a Luton van with just 2 men would more than cover the move. The day of the big move came (which was only the other side of the Thames) and a Luton van turned up, but wasn’t nearly big enough for what needed transporting. We didn’t even have a sofa or a bed to transport, so it really wasn’t a lot compared to many. The men got out of the van and didn’t seem to have any idea of what was happening or what would be involved. They kept asking with surprise “is that coming” pointing at boxes, our TV’s, our sets of drawers etc. then continued to tell us that they would only be able to move our regular sized wardrobe if they dismantled it. It’s not one you can put back together once dismantled, so this meant we had to leave it behind and pay a waste disposal company £80 to take away, and left us with no wardrobe. Do we now have to buy a new wardrobe. One of my biggest gripes was that as someone with a mobility disability, I was very conscious of how much I would be required to pack, lift and carry. I was reassured by customer services that the packing service would be part of it. They didn’t pack a thing. Bearing in mind we’d already boxed most of our items, and just had some books and kitchenwares, as well as TV’s and computers. So we spent the next few hours continuing to frantically pack or stuff for them to slowly take to the van. Also note that at no point were removal rugs put down to protect floors. Many hours later the van was full. We still had books, computers, TV’s and do much more to transport. Which then meant that when they got to the new home, they would have to drive all the way back again to collect the remaining items. Even then we had to ask. We had items left such as coffee table books and a costumed mannequin that had to be picked up by a friend who had a van the next day. The gentlemen were pleasant enough, and we made sure to feed them. But it was an older guy and a young lad who was very inexperienced. They even asked me if I was going to bubble wrap my large TV…. that’s what the protective blankets are for! They ended the day with around 11 hours. The total to move from a 1 bedroom flat to a 2 bedroom flat 22 minutes drive away across the Thames came to over £700. For around the same price, I moved from a 3 bedroom house in Nottingham to London a few years before. As we’ve spoken to others since who have said that we’ve been conned and that you sent the bare minimum to maximise the hours we’d have to pay. Others stating that this should’ve been done in about 5 hours tops with a team of 3 people, and packing would’ve been done (as was stated in the original booking and quote of service) it should’ve been approximately half of what we paid. I honestly cannot recommend taken at all

I had an agreement with another removal company 3 weeks before our scheduled move. The turned up with a 5.5 ton van and decided it was time to tell me my things couldn't fit and ask for more money. Sam and his team turned up in less than 30 min with two Luton vans carefully loaded my things with the upmost professionalism and a kind spirit of service, drove 60 miles to our new place and unloaded everything, set up the furniture and even offered to do more than agreed in settling up in all for a fraction of the price agreed with the previous company. Amazing option if you're moving. At first, I was a bit worried that the service wouldn't be so good because their quote was the cheapest one and way more competitive than many of the competitors. But I couldn't be more wrong. We hired 2 men (Kamran and an Iranian guy, couldn't catch his name). Both were super professional and efficient. They were quick but also moved eveything with a lot of care so they wouldn't damage anything. Very happy with the price and the service. Lucy was also super helpful when booking the service. We have used No1 Removals for two moves in a short space of time. Kam is an incredibly professional and polite person who ensured that on both occasions, the move went well. On the second move, our sofa sustained a couple of marks from the process and Kam was quick to arrange a professional cleaner to review it and rectify the issue. I had an overall good experience about my moving home with Removal Services. I asked an urgent removal and they were available, gave me a exactly quote. The guys kept a long travel than expected and I tried to call them through the Removal Services. But at the end they helped until all boxes were in second floor without elevator.
