Overall my experience with the UTA and Utah public transportation has been awful. First main issue: how overpriced a premium monthly pass is… At $170 a month it doesn’t actually save most people much money (and especially time which I’ll revisit in a moment) or offer any incentive to try to make a smaller carbon footprint which is disappointing. By the end of the year that will add up to $2,040 which makes me want to just invest that money into a more fuel efficient car/zero emissions vehicle. I have a pretty solid job and can afford this but the majority of people who need it the most and that would benefit from it most can’t. Second main issue: let’s imagine you can afford a monthly premium pass, good luck getting around anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. The times across the whole range of options even outside of the frontrunner are very limited and even more limited when people would actually utilize them (like going out to the bars with your friends and not driving home). Again, even if you see past that the busses connecting to the frontrunner never have an adequate amount of time for the bus to make it before the train leaves which makes you end up waiting another 30-1 hour if you’re lucky or they just might not have another coming depending on where you are and what time it is. I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve watched the train depart as I am walking onto the platform. Then stops like the vineyard are so far (probably a solid 150 yards if you cut across the rocks, dirt, and old pieces of Geneva Steel sticking out of the ground) from the platform leaving multiple people running to catch either the train or the bus both directions. All around disappointed in all of Utah's public transit. There is even more I could go into but it’s not worth anymore of my time. Hope it works for you if you’re reading this. Looking forward to the day that it actually makes sense, so Utah and the commuters in it can at least try to do our part improve the air quality (which understandably consistently ranks in the worst of the worst in nearly every category) yikes.
I was threatened by two trolley(trax) cops while entering the trolley quitely. They grabbed their firearms in a threatening manner and were sarcastic. I left the trolley, because I felt my life was threatened, and I showed my full day pass that I bought that morning for 6.25. When I crossed the street several blocks away afterwards, a Salt Lake City Utah cop accelerated at a high rate of speed out of a parking lot and nearly hit me. I am an honorably discharged veteran. Salt Lake City Utah police and other cops etc. are stalking, conspiring to murder etc. honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. military.
Pray to our Father in Heaven you don’t have to take the train from here going south (in my case Provo). All the trains are rushing to get out of service so you might wait an hour just for the train. Here’s the catch though, there’s a high chance your train will only go to Murray or South Jordan station FORCING you to get off that train and getting onto a bus to where you want to go. Getting out of the city is hell.
The station itself was great—excellent actually. But after coming home from a concert, there were literally thousands of people all trying to get on the same train home. The experience south was quite uncomfortable and unnecessarily so. With a little more planning, 2-3 trains could have been sent from the very beginning. Love public transportation though! Fairly cheap and pretty easily accessible.
This is a very convenient location for a train stop. The Trax are very close nearby, making the majority of Salt Lake City very easy to access. The Frontrunner allows easy access for those further distances away, making it easy for people commuting to save gas and help the environment, especially with living on the Wasatch Front, where it is critically important. Fair prices too.
Riding the train is great and convenient. I really wish there was a way for there to not have to wait for 30 minutes after a train goes out of service. It’s discouraging when you’ve been working outside all day and want to go home and get warm and you have to wait outside for 30 minutes. Not complaining just wondering if there’s any solutions to help out people like me. Thank you
Use it daily and is very comfy. There's a large amount of people that think that their backpacks or purses need their own seat, which is highly inconvenient for the person that wants to sit down. Be ready for delays every now and then. I have got 3 or 4 delays of 30-40 min each in a 3 month frame.
Major transit hub for light rain and busses very clean with plenty of space there is heavy construction on site so leave extra time if you are driving here if you are coming through on transit or on bike you shouldn't have any problems and always look both ways
Free!! Best way to travel! Special promotion to promote the new airport terminal. Show your airline boarding pass and you can ride free for the day on most the UTA transportation services! Holidays and driving along with parking lots… makes sense!
I have been taking the front runner for a good time now and it's super frustrating. I swear it's late or there is some major delay about every third day. I'm starting to take it less and less and will probably opt out all together pretty soon.
Station is great with solid location, connections to light rail are easy and smooth. Connections to busses are complete garbage and should be avoided at all costs! 2 star due to complete trash of the bus system.
It is much better then the central city station. It feels more like the stations in the wild west movies. You can watch mountains east and west, and the barren land in between.
Awesome spot to rail fan all trains, mostly Trax over the bridge, the Front Runner station below and the Union Pacific yard. And the escalators are cool to go up.
It gets the job done but the escalators is squiking like crazy and it looks like it's about to fall apart any year now. The whole thing need a serious remode.
Easy access to front runner and TRAX light rail to airport. This used to be my go to when flying out of SLC. Park near by and take the rail into the airport.
This was an example good planning in fulfilling the transportation needs of the travels in Utah. Very convenient and the beautiful art. Excellent!!!
I prefer this station over Salt Lake Central because it's closer to the Downtown areas you actually wanna go to and it's just a much better area.
I like not having to drive into Salt Lake. Work is close by so it works for me. This station has an awesome underwater mural of Atlas!
I love the access to buses, frontrunner, and trax from this stop. The platform is gigantic so there is a lot of room to spread out.
Las personas que manejan las unidades son muy amables y la salida de los autobuses son puntuales, me gusta el servicio …
Great location to get to The Gateway mall, planetarium, megaplex. Also trax is just above the station. Very convenient.
U guys should get a stand that has water. Because of how hot it gets in there sometimes. And I like the mornig veiw
Large platform but limited seating. A good transfer to/from FrontRunner to/from Trax. Also has a bike station.
Connection for the green line to the airport. Nice to be able to get to the airport on public transportation.
It's a convenient location for easy access to Jazz games and other activities at Vivint Smart Arena.
Connections to the Frontrunner train, Green line Trax, and the 200, 223, F453, and UTA on demand
I'm so glad they made this station! The Central Station is beautiful, but in a bad location.
Clean and well designed to be a transfer to buses, Trax, or a short walk to downtown SLC.
Clean. Plenty of convenient waiting area. Great connection to light rail and busses.
Nice station for Frontrunner/Trax. Could use some more benches and a restroom.
Ticket machine here. Up stairs for the green line to A.P. Or town.
Not on time like it states on site 45 min. Wait!
Good lighting at night, only missing a restroom.
