"It’s O’Hare"
"All grand and nice establishment until your flight is in T5"
"Truly a world class International airport wherein you can travel anywhere Nationally or Internationally"
"Horrible trip experience"
"Don't know what's going on here but there are leaks in the roof by L22 gate and around the corner walk way"
It’s O’Hare. If this is a stopover place for you, I highly recommend being able to spend a couple hours here or longer if you have a big layover in Chicago great place to stay and a lot to experience, but most people don’t want to live here, especially in the winter. Italian Beef, pizza . I very rarely check luggage coming here because the last time it happened my luggage got lost. I did get it after two days. This time I had to ask the ticket baggage claim lady and she was extremely helpful. She went back through the magic door and found my bag after I waited at the baggage claim for over half an hour. The plus side as I got to talk to a guy that was on my flight and I now have a good Carpenter for remodeling jobs in the Rockford Chicago area . If you’re not used to the cold, I highly suggest that you visit here sometime between June and September. I have to say this airport needs a big upgrade. It’s looks the same for as long as I can remember.
All grand and nice establishment until your flight is in T5. T5 specifically is in compromised condition. The shops have been under construction and renovation forever. It's super huge in a bad way, If your flight is at Gate M30+ you need to walk for 10+ minutes from TSA to ur gate because there aren't enough electric walkways to compensate the long distance. Dinning options are very limited and overpriced in the gate M20-M40 area, if you want some hot food during a layover you need to walk back and forth between the small central business area and ur gate for 20+ minutes. It's just uncomfortably big and empty. Generally a very inconvenient terminal for layovers. I'd say go for MDW instead if your flight is unfortunately at ORD T5.
Truly a world class International airport wherein you can travel anywhere Nationally or Internationally. Excellent choices for In airport dining. A fabulous Hilton hotel available at the airport. Easy parking for short or long term needs and an electric train to shuttle from airport parking to the terminal of your choice or need. If you're traveling over the cold winter months there are occasionally flight delays for snow or inclement weather. Be prepared to check. Otherwise dont ever hesitate to choose O'Hare airport for connections. Busy....an airport...is O'Hare ...The second busiest in the world...just behind Atlanta currently. Blessings JMAC
Horrible trip experience. First off, plane landed ahead of time, and the gate was being used. No big deal. What is a big deal is when the gate is open, but you continue to sit on the runway for an additional 50 minutes, 20 minutes past when you were supposed to depart. Add on to that, 80% of the plane had connections. My plane had already boarded by the time I set foot in the terminal. I asked one of the workers at the desk to call my gate and let then know I was on the way and she said no. She wouldn't do it. Great customer service This place is consistently full of rude employees, which is funny because I only come through once a year. Awful airport.
Don't know what's going on here but there are leaks in the roof by L22 gate and around the corner walk way. Yellow buckets are placed under as water trickles in. The restroom in this same area for women have 2 broken doors. One is off the hinge and the other one won't close to latch. I guess during rain storms leaking happens quite frequently. One of the most unforgiving airports in the states. If you are elderly, get a wheelchair as the walk from terminal to terminal is a bit of a hike. For the rest of us, it is a nice way to use up time if you have a long wait between flights. Some terminals are under construction to add more gates and concession stands.
O'Hare is the physical manifestation of decades of corruption endemic to Chicago. 22 years after post 9-11 protocols were put in place, Chicago still hasn't built more room for passengers to walk. The inter-terminal train routinely fails. The airport has never had enough gates for the planes it serves despite there being fewer planes flying to ORD today than in 1999. This place is an example of why American infrastructure, and Chicago infrastructure in particular, will always fail to meet demand. O'Hare consistently announces grand initiatives, and those initiatives routinely have funding routed to individuals then bog down and fail.
Long distances to walk. Coming from international flights they offer, Global entry, Mobile passport control and the usual wait in line forever module. The waits weren't too long when I arrived, but I still used the mobile app and breezed through, so much easier and faster. Then run to catch the tram to get to your terminal, luckily this airport offers trams, some do not and you have to walk for at least 20 minutes. Great restaurants, but prices are ridiculous, a small glass of house wine and a hot dog was $20.25. INSANE!
Many ways to get to airport terminals quickly including train, bus, cars unlike some other major airports which are just a pain to get to. Security check has gotten better over time. 15 minutes max during regular travel times. Restaurants and convenience stores have almost everything you might need or forgot to get. Typical airport prices, but lots of choices. Parking situation is being improved in the international terminal. So I have not much to complain as a user of this airport for more than 25 years.
The airport is very busy and can be chaotic but there are many signs to guide you to where you need to go. There are also many staff members that can help you get in the right line for security since there is pre-check and a separate line for non pre-check. Be prepared to walk though since the gates are pretty far from security. Once you land, there are trains to take you to rental cars if you need one. Lots of food options so many options for everyone.
ORD is okay. TSA makes you go out and redo the line, if you forgot anything you want to drink, such as a small espresso can. Obviously, we didn't want I redo the line, so they tossed it. Let's not talk about a CBP encounter years ago. It seems that customer service is worse in Chicago than elsewhere. Something we felt in the city as well, whether servers, hotel concierge, ticket sellers, etc. It is general chicago thing...
Chicago Ohare is one of the nicest airports I’ve seen in the Usa. It’s very nice, very clean safe, busy and easy to get around in this airport. Their are police to make it safe. All the signs and wording are very easy to read in large letters unlike some airports you are totally confused. The Blue like train goes right to the city and downtown so for $2.50 you can get to the city or $5.00 for a all day pass on the train.
What can you say about Ohare that isn't true for any airport this size. Most employees do the best they can and are very courteous. The problem is when there are delays out of their control that passengers think they need to take out on them. You do find an occasional bad egg, but most of my travels through Ohare have been delightful because I have been delightful to them. Remember, you get back what you give out.
Very old airport. My partner swears they haven't renovated since Michael Jordan won his 1st championship. The biggest flaw of this airport is Customs and Border Patrol (cBP). They are never fully staffed and can cause you to miss the 2nd leg of your flight if you're coming in from an international destination. I've never seen 2500+ people in line waiting to go through Customs in a major hub. It's embarrassing.
Security at American Airlines was confusing. We avoided one line because it looked long. Tried two other lines but one was for pre-check and the other was for priority. Neither were clearly marked. We went back to the first line and it went smooth, moved much faster than we thought. The food options are great. Lots of varieties at the food court. When we came back Christmas decorations were going up.
dizzying number of travelers literally bumping into each other in the narrow passageways of this airport. Stefan of Information counter was a gem in that he was pleasant to talk to and is very well informed of the ins and outs of the airport and its surrounding cities. He was answering questions I would not even have thought to ask. This person is the epitome of excellent customer service.
Landed here 4/26 at 3:15 pm. Customs staff extremely unorganized, unprofessional, and rude. Agents behind desk absolutely rude. Yelling about being off at four and not taking any more people at 3:45 with three full lines of people. Staff putting people into lines that are “closing” letting people in to lines randomly. Not a good impression for an international airport and for Americans
Terminal 5 sucks! Power outlets doesn't work on the tables. Dining options are very limited and expensive. Restrooms are old and not clean. Security check is dark and claustrophobic. Not enough space for reclaiming the personal items but a huge Duty free shop using up all the space... Would not recommend traveling with an connecting flight over O'Hare! Go anywhere else....
Traveled from here several times now. I'm learning my way around. I'm also the official driver to and from O'Hare of my friends and family. Where did you move the cell phone lot? I explained to my family where to wait for me and it wasn't there! That lot was perfect! It was close and they could watch planes taking off and landing (the only reason my mom rode with)
We deplaned in K concourse, app told me it was about 15 min walk to my next gate in G, got there just in time to get notice of a gate change to L concourse all the way past where we started. The help at the gate definitely was not interested in polite customer service. An airport this large should have some sort of moving sidewalk or other movement assistance.
If you could avoid O’Hare, do so at all cost. The airline companies actually look good when compared to the service the airport provides. Was on the Air Train stuck in one place for almost an hour. Then was told to take shuttle bus. No buses, just chaos. Left plenty of time to get our flight and still missed it. All of this with a 16 month infant, not good.
Well handled crowd control and excellent American club. Signage could be more clear for people arriving, as the terminal number isn't clearly marked. Uber/Lyft is not available in terminal 3, which is frustrating. Also unavailable at terminal 3 is "Clear", which made my wait in security longer than I'm used to. Hey Chicago, give T3 some attention, please!
Couldn't fly into O'Hare had to go to Milwaukee and then to O'Hare. Missed 2 flights and then had to book another flight. Got to the gate and after a hour the gate was changed. Went to the new gate and sat there and then it was changed again. Supposed to be in Phoenix by 1:00, but now we don't leave O'Hare until 2:00. Waiting until the next delay.
It was surprisingly easy to walk to my connecting flight's Gate as it was the neighboring concourse. I also had a 4+ hour layover, so not pressed for time. I don't know about the same ease to get to other concourses? I didn't find a map/locations of food choices until after I'd found something to eat. There seems to be a plethora of food choices.
My first time here. It's Thanksgiving holiday. Thought it would be hella complicated, but it was ok. Had to find baggage claim, found it, then getting my ride..evidently the traffic officers were a lil friendly and allowed my mom to find me. Thank you to O'Hare International Airport and the nice traffic officer that assisted my mother to find me.
BIG! It is an international Airport after all. It might take you a bit to find where you need to go when making a connection. The signage is good and you won't get lost. Pretty clean too. Lots of bathrooms around for all gender types. The restaurants are plentiful and there are a lot of food options for all. There are a lot of places to sit.
I have never had a problem flying out of O'Hare. Yes it is big, yes it is busy but it is still easy to navigate. Don't book a connecting flight that only gives you less than half an hour to get to your next gate and you should be fine. The bathrooms are clean and everyone knows that is a great thing when traveling.
Very nice and expansive airport - Stuck here for 7 hours, but discovered American Airlines Admirals Club - $59 per day includes wifi, breakfast and lunch bars, may types of coffees, plenty of seating and charging stations, lounge chairs, quiet spaces, super clean bathrooms and even showers - Cash bar - pretty cool
This airport sucks. Poorly arranged. E and upper F gates together. F1-3 is away from the upper gates. Not too far of a walk, but has hardly any seating at these gates. So I sat on the floor. Gate was changed from F4, which also had very little seating. On the plus side, Auntie Annie pretzel bites were pretty good.
Arriving at this airport was a nightmare. The signage is not very good and it was super confusing to find the rental car area. Now that I have been here once, it isn’t bad. Arriving back to the airport for my flight out was much easier. Security was fast, terminals were well labeled and lots of food options.
Flying American Airlines terminal 3 today. Security check took less than 5 minutes. Clean facilities. Food and drinks available even at a very early hour (5am). I did just pay almost $7 for bottle of Fiji water so bring your own water bottle if you can, there’s filters water stations on site. Safe travels
Was anxious about traveling with my elderly father during the Thanksgiving rush. We prearranged wheelchair transport for him. The process was smooth, getting through security and to the gate was easy at 7:30 a.m. The young man who assisted us with transport was polite, efficient and helped smooth the way.
I flew from Bradley international Airport and I had requested assistance to help me get to my next flight and I was not happy to see a worker with a wheelchair for me, I'm deaf, NOT handicapped!!! But on the bright side, flight attendants was nice and communicated with me using phone or paper and pen
AMERICAN AIRLINES Flight delayed after boarded so had to deplane..horrible communication and customer service at the desk. Rebooked on a different airline for tomorrow in order to get home..and we did that on our own phone app. Have never experienced such horrible disrespectful customer service!!
Everything went very smoothly- from the return of the rental car, to catching the rail transportation to the main terminal to getting through our quick and fast TSA pre-check line to getting something to eat, to being notified of a gate change. That's the way things are supposed to work!
I had the pleasure of spending 8 hours in the O'Hare terminal. It is nearly impossible to find a flat surface to put a laptop, and when you do at least half the power plugs are not working. Definitely room for improvement. I guess 1 out of 3 working power outlets is better than zero ...
Worst airport hands down almost like they try to be the worst. Communication is non existent and when you do ask for help well sorry is all you get. I will pay way overpriced tickets to never flying or out of this heap of garbage of a so called airport. You get what you elect I suppose.
We were in line at security and they closed the checking and made us go to a different one - seems like they should have services those that were already in the line. Want happy about it. The stars are for the good choices that you have at O' Here - there are plenty of great choices
Smooth movements. Loved it. Apparently my boarding gate was very close by after the security check. It's a huge airport. Got to see take-off & landing while I was in the plane. I love to watch airplanes take off. It fascinates me a lot. Closeup view of big aircraft is always a joy.
I could not give it less stars. Super crowded. Signage needs to be clearer. I think this airport may be why so many flights were delayed. It takes like 15-20 minutes just to taxi to a gate after landing. There are like 500 people crammed in to tiny gate h11a. Thanks for the stress!
O'Hare handles thousands of passengers a day. The train to the terminals and rental cars is smooth and efficient. I went through TSA precheck in Terminal 3 at a peak hour and was through in about 3 minutes. A pain-free airport experience. The bacon at Publican Tavern is excellent!
Very busy airport. For the most part the staff is very friendly but there are the other ones on the other hand that are really rude or seem to cool to help you with anything. Or when they do answer you it’s with an attitude. But over all clean, really big, and busy all the time.
I can not walk long distances, and I wake shorter distances with cane so I normally request wheelchair assistance. I usually fy American Airlines and the service is remarkable. If I want I can purchase almost anything from somewhere within the airport.
This is my favorite airport to travel through. It is so well run and efficient. The security line is like a well run oiled machine. Everyone is so friendly and actually smiling. Thats not typical for airport employees. And the food shops are so good!
Worst experience ever with American Airlines. Pilot never showed up, flight was delayed 4x as a result missed our connector. The AA Manager Greg working in customer service is the rudest and most unprofessional person I've ever encountered.
Been here a few times in the last decade. It's solid. Good mass transit to get here, and the air train is very convenient. Good food options too. Improvements can be made for sure. But even the security line always moves generally quickly.
Airport security suv AS57 running stop sign and red lights. Speeding at least 40mph above speed limit. This is not the first time I saw airport employees being aggressive. Chicago Ohare staff never follow the law. Most of them are rude
Early flight, arrived with enough time. Not much open at 5am. So lines for food are long. People traveling are rude. TSA still sucks, not a friendly face to be had. I smile and am courteous and move on. Terminal and bathrooms are clean.
Changed my gate three times without notifying me through the American airlines app, that I have and now I missed my flight and I'm trying to go stand by. Traveling with a small puppy. This would never happen with Delta. Unacceptable.
Not bad. Cars were close by to the counters where you rent the car. Just take shuttle, then make left and rental counters are immediately visible. Then the cars are within a two-min walk towards the right divided across three floors.
Busy, cluttered, hodge-podge of renovated and aged terminals most with low and uninspiring ceilings and tired open spaces. Truly a utilitarian experience. Efficient and logical pickup and drop off. Nice range of foodservice options.
Excellent lounge and free WiFi throughout the terminal, Blue Line train to downtown is carbon free and under $10! Can't beat a good weekend in Chicago and O'Hare makes it easy to get in and out. Thanks for being a decent airport!
Today was the quickest I've ever gotten through an airport. I believe the total time from checking my bag, going through security, and getting to where the plane would depart from was a total of 16 minutes. Today was a good day.
Easier than I expected to navigate. Had to get from terminal 5 to 3. Train system down 1 level, hop on, hop off. The airport wasn't too busy so I'm sure that helped, but TSA was fast and signage throughout was easy to follow.
There was enough to enjoy withing the airport but I still ventured out and jumped on the bus to go to the mall. It was a 4 hr layover and I feel like I did alot. I enjoyed the yoga room albeit it was a little hard to locate.
I used two men's bathrooms and both had paper towel dispensers that were jacked up and unable to be used. Not all the seat charging stations work. My flight to Harrisburg got delayed three hours. I hate the Chicago airport.
Large international airport. Rude TSA agents. Rude passport control. Over priced food. But you don’t really have a choice now, do you? Only lounge with while in T5 is the Delta lounge. T1s United Polaris lounge is amazing.
Love flying in and our of O'Hare. Not the easiest airport if you're new to it, but once you've been here a few times it's very easy to get through. Transportation system is excellent, and trains to the city are easy too.
No Priority Lounge. Transiting to International Terminal requires a bus, which had no signs or instructions. I had to ask the info desk. Otherwise I would have had to exit the secure area and re-enter security checkpoint
Worst experience ever. Plane was late getting in and the said the can stop boarding 10 to 15 early if operation doesn't call to say flight late. I ran along with others and had to take another flight. American Airlines.
Pretty easy in and out midweek for a 9:25am flight. It is a large airport and it has the same issues all other large airports face (traffic, parking, crowds) but today was uneventful. Uneventful is good for an airport.
Surprisingly good on this visit. I used to have horrible experiences here and started obviously but this visit was mostly pleasant. Of course it was a domestic 6am flight on a Tuesday, so not a mad house in there.
Husband and I went here on our first trip together. Found it by accident. Went back 7 years later. Still just as good! Amazing tacos. Nice and spicy salsa. Flautas are def a hit. You cannot go wrong going here!
I'd have given it five stars if they had some pole-dancers and free booze...that said, everybody here is awesome. Lots of places to get food, pretty clean for such a big airport. Yeah...not too shabby.
Horrible airport. Everything so confused. Rude staff. Infrastructure super complex and not logical. Officer put on the trash my mom duty free alcohol which is against the rule and idea about duty free.
As far as most airports go O'Hare international is one of the better ones. Lots of options for food and drinks. Try the United Club if you can, their hospitality and attention to detail is above par.
Staff are efficient, friendly & helpful. Bathrooms are clean & well stocked. Lots of food choices! As I am not able to walk long distances I received a ride on their motorized cart. No problems.
Of course crowded and crazy as ever, but very nicely kept modern and clean. Leaving in an Uber the traffic guard was excellent - keeping the cars moving and not letting traffic snarls occur.
Always a good airport. Patience is encouraged. A lot of new construction, hopefully for the good. It always fun flying on the holidays, if the weather is good, it's runs smoothly.
Flying to Phoenix AZ. Got a flight on a Tuesday afternoon. It's definitely a good time. Best price, traffic was good. It is not my favorite airport. However, this trip went well.
It's not too bad, pretty prompt. Some of the people working there should try to be a little more friendly. They are there to serve the public, not to treat them without respect.
The airport was clean, TSA line moved quickly. The bathroom in K terminal was in very poor conditions. They need to fix stalls and fix peeling paint. Otherwise good experience.
It's getting better all the time now that parking is getting better, at start of terminal 2 big chairs, take nap here, then walk to 3 at rotunda and go to yoga room 6am to 10pm
Has to be one if theWorst airport's..slow incompetent workers..NO common sense anywhere in this facility...AND ITS NOT BECAUSE OF THE CONSTRUCTION...never coming back here...
The Airport is good so far , with the car rental is always difficult, or your car is not ready or your card is not going through, the return is messy, big airport issues
It’s been a while since being here - but got to check out the city without actually going into the city. Fun environment once you are able to navigate the terminals.
I am not sure if it was there before but this time I noticed transfer between terminal 3 and 5 has become a lot easier by terminal bus transfer avoiding TSA checks.
we got stuck here for about 8 hours due to delays and americans rewards club really helped with their lounge and all sorts of stuff. the food is meh however.
I felt the need to stop to get batteries for my talk boy and lost my dad. I got on the wrong flight and landed in some strange city. Oh boy I did it again.
Enjoyed an quick bite to eat (@ Uno's) during a layover. Loved the caramel cheddar popcorn! Plenty of plugs to charge your phone & restrooms were clean.
Courtney experience flying into O’Hare. Directions are fairly straightforward as far as gates as long as you have some idea what your gate number is.
Nice airport with the best food options for every palate, vegetarian and vegan options, they also have a good selection of book and souvenir options.
first time here and they lost my bag but the lady's in the front dest help to track it down and find it quick but other than that nice airport .
Easier to get to than a city airport and usually not that bad from a time through TSA. But it can get bad. Lounges aren't terrible either.
The O'Hare International Airport is always busy. Love all the food places. Only wish the train to get you to from the airport was faster.
Security was quick an easy. The AA app has made things easy. I ate at Public’s and really enjoyed the coffee, and the eggs with frittes.
Solid airport once you learn it. It's a shame no priority pass lounges outside the international terminal. Also no CLEAR in AA terminal.
Convenient location in the airport and have many luxury rides to choose from we went with the caddie suv very nice well equipped vehicle
for a super large airport it was very efficient to run, clean and comfortable. I flew American airlines. even the TSA wasn't that bad!
Was easy to navigate, plenty of places to eat. People ride bumping into you and store clerks not answering questions. But over all ok
Big Airport and amazing place. Looking for something, you can find anything there. Blue Line going thru to city center all day 24h.
Security usually isn't too bad. Just need to get here early and be prepared. Food choices are pretty good in most areas as well.
I travel a lot for work the setup at this airport is perfect. Almost missed my flight because I got in the zone on some tables
Long lines. No courtesy. No trash cans. No one around to help. Waiting 1 hr to get bags so we can connect flight to dallas
Great airport to wait in. Could use more phone charging stations/seats at gates. But great food choices and bookstores.
O'Hare is a good airport. Lots to see and do. And staff throughout the airport are friendly and personable. Nice job.
Terminal 3 needs an upgrade, feels old, dark, and has low ceilings. I bet this place felt state of the art in 1987.
It was very clean and the food was fast and fresh. TSA checkpoint moved quickly so I was able to make my flight.
Had a lay over and it was surprisingly very smooth. Lots of signs for directions to different terminals and food
It is amazing that so many passengers and planes make it in and out of this place. Always a trip within a trip!
Easy to get to thru security and to your gate. Need better dining options at dinner or the gates, especially F.
