Drove up and was taken by surprise. From the street level Founders Park looked small - about the size of a couple of single family housing lots. But it is extensive covering the equivalent of several city blocks. There's a small parking lot, then hilly woods and a thicket that helps muffle the sound of busy streets. There were at least a half-dozen people playing disc golf. A paved pathway rolls across it to an open area with an unobstructed view downtown Dallas. For Cliffies this vuew may not be anything new, but it's mighty impressive to an immigrant from Oak Lawn and Old East Dallas.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs and their humans were enjoying the sunny afternoon, not to mention all the sticks to chase!

Beautiful well lit park in oak cliff. Very nice walking trail with beautiful scenery especially at night with downtown showcasing it's lights on the sky scrapers. Really fun disc golf course. Perfect for beginners or sputter only round for intermediate to pro players. Great introductory course to someone who just started or someone who is getting into the game but want to feel like it's a competition no matter what level of player you are. Again the park has plenty of lights which make a safe and fun night course as well.

The park is great and lovely, you get a great view of the dallas skyline, however it's rather small and I went for disk golf that's were I decided to give it 3 stars because for a disk golf park it's nice but rather lacking. The signs are messed up, there's no clear view of which hole you're supposed to go to next. An feels claustrophobic that's bad cuz there were a few times I felt my disk might go into the street. Aside from this the park would be a 4 star. For disk golf the one in Rockwall is much better.

I have to admit that I was homeless at a point in my life and slept at this park, because it was brightly lit. Remember that safety is very important to us all. The DPD are always around. Now I go back for a walk around the park, both parks to be honest. Cool places to sit and read or just be one with nature.
Playground
Well maintained.
Dog-friendliness
Seems Luke everyone walks their fur baby here.
Picnic area
Several peaceful areas to sit.

Very serene and beautiful place from which to enjoy the Dallas skyline from an amazing vantage point. The multiple placards give interesting insights into Dallas’ rich history and that of its sister city; Oak cliff. There is an expansive playground on the Beckley side and multiple picnic areas with tables throughout. Can't say there are restrooms but definitely a portable potty or two.

It's only 11 holes, but it's an Ace Run Heaven! It offers tight fairways w/multiple lines of attack. Arm speeds vary, but I attacked several holes (1,2,3,5&7) from the tee-box with an overstable Putter (FH&BH) for my Driver! 4,6,8,9,10&11 (FH&BH) were Fairway Drivers. Plenty of elevation & guardian tree variables to add to the challenge!

Good course for beginners and kids. Most holes are under 200 but the trees make for some tight shots. Good use of the space with some fun elevated tees. Can be played twice pretty quickly. Also found some alternate tees marked by a couple of white flags to make those holes more challenging. Was a great choice for a quick lunch round.

Come for the community yoga with Flow N Nature - so good and nurturing. Little dragonflies just lurking and stretching next to me. Parking was a little sus but there are a few different lots on each side of the park. Best to park on Zang, OK to park in the lot on Colorado, don’t park on Marsalis

It's very hilly and has beautiful trees all around it. It's well-lit and adjacent to the Lake Cliff Tower Residences. Disc Golf with clearly visible signage. This park is across the street from Lake Cliff Park, making this a desirable place for family activities. It's beautiful!

  • AJ

Awesome place to play disc golf. Very beautiful park with many trees and lots of scenery. I love the variety of elevation in the park, it makes playing more interesting. If you're looking for something different to do in your spare time, try out disc golf it's pretty fun!

  • Fred pena

Founders Park used to be one of those parks that you wanted clear out of when the sun started setting. Since the frisbee golf component was added, it has changed a lot. There’s always people around, it feels clean and safe. It complements Lake Cliff Park very well.

  • Jordan Mutis

I went to play disc golf. The course is short and poorly designed. There were a large number of homeless people who were in the way of the course. One of them was somewhat aggressive towards bystanders and was clearly on drugs. Go to a different course.

  • Dena Sims

It was a nice jewel. I literally stumbled upon this park meandering one morning. I followed the path along. There is a fountain of sorts. Frankly speaking, I love flowing water of any kind. I saw areas with kids’ playground and much more …

  • Lawrence Mendoza

This is a very nice park as well as disc golf. We visit this park about twice a week. It is used by runners, dog walkers, disc golf players and picnickers. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is not always cleaned in a timely

  • Michael Barton

This park has such great potential that's lost from so many minor problems. The parking lot is small and risky. You can see broken glass where break ins of cars have occurred. Homeless folks were clustered up at the nice seating area

This course needs some new signs- but it has some fantastic views of the city! It's a fun and quick course. Some short and easy throws through a lot of trees and some hills make it fun! Overall, location is key at this place.

  • JLP Live

I'm not a fan of this park, the walking trails are okay and they do have frisbee golf but it is not maintained the best and the Overlook that faces downtown could use a lot of attention

  • Chito Cano

I truly Love this place, great place to walk and free your mind, but the city has to work alittle bit on the homeless issue seeing too many of them sleeping on the park's benches

  • Rob L.

Oak Cliff Founders Park is a great disc golf course for beginners with short, open holes and a few challenges to make it fun for players of all skill levels.

  • Alex Snyder

Nice park with steady hills, taking you up and down the terrain with exposed rocks. Cool, little disc golf course. The downside is the homeless presence.

  • Andruis Maximus

I love this place. The homeless have magical qualities in this area. I’ve seen them dancing naked in the moonlight, I know they are not of this earth.

  • Beast

Quite a nice park with a challenging, yet fun disc golf course. Lots of hills and shade. Also has a walking path going throughout the park.

  • Emily Valentin

Gorgeous views of the city. Lots of squirrels, which made my dogs happy! Excited to return another time to try the frisbee golf course.

  • S W

Incredible views, fairly simple shots and a ton in elevation. Only 11 holes!! Unless you sneak... ;-) Fun for groups new and old alike!

  • Justine Moore

Beautiful walking trails on a lovely day. Beware, not accessible. But quite enjoyable. The disc golf course looked like fun as well.

  • Lane Walker

Nice running area hard lounging please parking and rail cars runs right in front of downtown easy Texas easy to access thank you

  • Andrew Palmer

Great 11 hole disc golf course that is pretty easy to navigate and has lots of different shots required and elevation change.

  • RaeLyn Brummell

Certian sections have been under construction for a long time!! Areas taped off but I never see anyone working on them.

  • Zac Potts

Great spot to chill in grass under the trees. Frisby golf course is also a good layout considering how close to city.

  • Angela Daniels

Nice oak but thereis a lot of traffic in the area.. Not somewhere you want to be once or starts getting dark outside.

  • Bernard Hill

Homeless people are around but they are responsible and respectful of the park so don't look down your nose at th em

  • Shawn Jenson

Eleven hole par 3 disc golf course. Super easy and quick, not alot of walking but there are a few hills and trees

  • Morgan Mix

  • Albert Mcafee

Really don't remember going there but i could be wrong about that so all I will say is it could be a good place.

  • Cathy Hughes

Frisbee golf needs better signage and wayfinding. It's basically non-existent and all guess work
