i agree with Angela Tabereaux... HORRIBLE!  HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE COMPANY! i only put one star because there is no option for zero stars.  we also (like Angela) were charged more than what was quoted. we are a disabled couple and quite frankly we are shocked how ocean movers "played dirty" and totally took advantage of us... in a disgraceful way. just like Phyllis Johnson said in her ONE STAR review..... they try to bill you for additional time.....making the move time longer than it actually took so they can squeeze you for more money.  ocean movers reported the time on the "invoice" as longer than what it actually took for the move. it was a VERY minimal move... a barely furnished small one bedroom with items being moved 5 minutes away. we like others who reviewed on here we also incurred extra fees and hidden charges that were NEVER disclosed in my phone conversations setting up the move ....OR in an email that "Amber" (supposedly the office manager) sent to us. these charges were not mentioned in the confirmation email they sent out .... supposedly sent to confirm the terms. im sure the owner will reply to this with a bunch of excuses, the owner constantly states on here to customers with bad reviews "you didn't reach out to us with any issues."  but we asked to speak to the owner and we were refused.   Amber said she would tell the owner about our concerns, but the owner never bothered to even get back to us in any way whatsoever.  We asked for the owner's name but no one would even give us that information. we even sent a CERTIFIED LETTER to the owner.   the owner would not respond and kept his or her identity hidden....we only got a worthless response from the great "Amber," who again refused to do anything about this horrible experience. Unbelievable. the owner frequently responds to bad reviews 'the customer signed an invoice saying they were satisfied" but the great Amber knew we had issues with the move and told us "i have no way to see the invoice....just sign it and I'll work with you. " but when she got the invoice she really turned on us rudely saying " it's done.   there is no refund and nothing you can do." she tricked us into signing that we were "satisfied" because she promised us if we got the invoice to her she would work with us. I was in a terrible car accident and have catastrophic injuries. I am paraplegic, paralyzed and bed ridden.   it has gotten so bad, i was forced to go into a nursing home and move out of a small apartment. because of my paralysis, i couldn't be there for the move. so my long time girlfriend went their to just act as my agent and pay for the move.  she also has undergone majory surgery...and can barely walk. she has to constantly use a walker. but when the movers arrived everything changed from the conversations I had with Amber (and from the confirmation email),  and they really treated us horribly. the office manager Amber was very rude and two faced. at first she acted like she would help us.....but once she got the contract she turned on us and said "its done and there is nothing you can do about it." their actions were fraudulent... stating that the move took longer than it did...so they could get more money.  again, they also charged extra bogus fees. if the owner responds with his usual "i can provide the invoice that says they were satisfied,"  i can provide tons of documentation that says we weren't. owner says in another ONE STAR review "we go above and beyond to make sure the customer has a positive experience, and do everything we can to correct a mistake." WHAT A JOKE!!!  the owner wouldn't even call us back... and Amber wouldn't even tell us who the owner's name. Again, the owner even ignored a CERTIFIED LETTER...and kept his or her identity hidden! I would NEVER recomnend ocean movers...even to ny worst enemy. I agree with Phyllis Johnson....DON'T PAY CASH! better yet... BEWARE!  dont ever use ocean movers! Jeff R.

Please do not use this company! They took an already stressful situation (moving my son out-of-state) and turned it into a nightmare. We first called Alliance Van Lines not realizing they were sub-contracting out the movers and ended up with this scam of a company. One (1) person showed up who was late, obviously stressed and incredibly rude and it took 2 hours for his help to show up. He told us our things should be delivered in a few days. After 4 days, we tried to call Alliance and were told the man who told us he "would be with us the whole way" could not be reached as our "file was moved to dispatch". I spoke with Sherry at Ocean Movers who was trying to be helpful but did not/could not tell us where the truck was and kept saying they had 10 days to deliver our belongings. I asked to speak with a supervisor after 6 days of not knowing where the truck was and I had the displeasure of being interrupted at the beginning of every sentence by him asking "What is the problem? I don't understand the problem. Your stuff will be delivered within 10 days." Unbelievable conversation. We realized the truck had to go from Orlando back to Miami then God knows where else before it got to Tennessee nine days later. Sherry emailed to tell us we would receive $50 for the delay. Fast-forward, the crew who finally delivered the belongings were apologetic as they moved the torn, punctured boxes. We filled out the paperwork for damages and you can guess where that got us - 4 months ago and no response. Again, please do not use this company. I question the positive reviews.

*UPDATE* After leaving the initial review, I was contacted by the owner who thought it was a good idea to threaten me, call me racial slurs AND tell me that he had all of my information and would show up to my house and he also stated that he knew where I parked my car. I definitely contacted the police and recorded the call. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE FAMILY-OWNED AND ARE RUDE TO CUSTOMERS AND THEY DO NOT HAVE A CORPORATE OFFICE SO THEY DISMISS CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS! I hired this company for my move. Their staff broke my brand new dresser and proceeded to put packing tape over it to conceal it as if I wouldn’t notice it!!! I reported it to the driver who told me that he was the supervisor and that he would take care of it and have my dresser replaced. 10 days later, I still had not received a replacement or any mention of a refund for the cost of my dresser. When I contacted the office, I spoke with Amber and explained the situation and also told her that I had pictures and she told me to call back on the following Monday and she would start a claim to have my dresser replaced. When I called back, AMBER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE! She kept cutting me off and acted like she had no clue of what we had previously discussed! Not only did she yell at me, she also stated that she would not file a claim to have my dresser fixed! Now I am out of a dresser and I have to buy another one because of Amber’s incompetence and her unprofessional staff!!! DO NOT HIRE THEM IF YOU’RE CONSIDERING IT!

Ocean movers sent 3 men to move household items from storage to my house. One stayed in the truck, one went in to move boxes and one hung outside on his cell. When I told the mover in the truck that I could not afford to have him standing around the mover with the cell phone got aggressive with me and shouted, approaching me with arms waving. He went into the unit and began to move my things at which time he removed packing blankets and threw them outside on top of huge load of spit that he had just spat on the ground. He then began to throw my moving boxes, breaking glass. As if that weren't enough, he climbed up to the top of the unit and pulled a box box from the bottom and all boxes came crashing down! He broke so much antique glass and shattered so much fragile belongings that I told them to stop unloading the truck and I would hire another company. They delivered the boxes they had already loaded to my house but I would not allow the swearing, aggressive mover on my property. He paced around the cul'de'sac arms waving madly shouting "Clay county is the most racist county in Florida". The company refused to give me the name of their insurance carrier even after I showed them the damaged boxes and broken glass. They adjusted the bill by $85.00. My interaction with the woman on the phone was almost as bad as that of her worker. She said she fired him but I saw him on my block a month later. Beware Eagle Harbor, Fleming Island or anywhere people live who value their things.

We have used Ocean movers in the past and we're completely happy with our move. We buy and sell our homes every couple years and in most cases we downsize in each move. Our moves have never been more than 700 and in most cases 550-675 to move all our items. We box our own things, many are in stackable bins, we break down all furniture that can be and also blanket our own furniture to make the move as fast as possible. This move was completely the opposite. The movers were extremely inefficient and took over 8 hours to move our things. Broke a shelf unit and laughed about it, broke part of my desk and was not going to tell me about it, I saw them also drop a huge mirror and thankfullly it did not break. Do movers these days where flip flops? One of the guys on this crew did. We have not got to unpacking so I am unsure of any damag to box items. Long story short not happy with them and the move cost over$1100 and the driving distance was only 12 min I would suggest getting a set price from this company at this point as the cost will all depend on the crew....

I was super excited about our move I read this company reviews and most of them was good. I even expressed this to the company I would like to have a smooth move. Well it started off good but didn’t end that way. One of the movers showed me a piece on my bed he broke and I said okay I’ll get with your manager . Then he tells me it’s not a major piece on the bed. I’m like if it was no need it wouldn’t be on there . I called ocean movers and spoke to the lady in the front office that sounded like she has no care in the world about my furniture. At this point I’m super mad cause this is an expensive new bed . She told me to take pictures I did and also showed the movers the other side of my bed that they tried to cover up that was damaged. At the end of the move they send a man to collect he was aware of what happened as well. He didn’t give any kind of apology take anything off nothing. I would never recommend this company my move was on 6/10 and still haven’t heard anything.

This was the worst move ever! I hired Ocean Mover to move me from a small apartment and storage unit on May 28, 2016. This was sold as a 2 hour time slot, During those 2 hours they manage to break my bed and destroy my dresser. Their was a truck full of blankets, but they felt the need not to use them. I was locked out of my storage unit and was told I would not get my furniture until I payed my bill. This was the scam to get me to go over my 2 hour so I would be bill for an additional hour. I was disrespected, and demeaned by the owner. Please please please don't pay cash. Please use your credit card, so if your property is destroyed like mine, you have the ability to charge it back and make them responsible for the damage. He strung me along as though he was going to make the repairs. I got and estimate, but that wasn't good enough. He said his workers don't recall and damage and his insurance only cover it before he leaves. I would never hire this company again.

I have used giant interstate movers (United, etc) as well as smaller, local movers in the past. For both in town and interstate moves, and off all my moves, Ocean Movers have been the best. There is no reason to pay 2x the cost for a company like United, when these guys were better. The movers literally never stopped. I told them to take a break and they didn’t want to. I asked them if they wanted food both days and they were initially resistant, but I believe movers should be fed. These guys were like single minded robots, just wanting to get the job done. I am not sure where they get their energy from, but they have a lot of it. And they take pride in their work and have set the standard for work ethic. They arrived on time both days, in fact, earlier than planned. Most movers are late, lazy, shady characters. I LOVE them and now know why my friend that had used them weeks before told me to use Ocean Movers. I thanked her, it was a good decision.

Only giving a 1 star due to not allowing for 0. This place is horrible!!! The movers ruined 2 pieces of our furniture and when we sent pics to show them what happened, they said it wasnt their problem. Never offered to fix the damage. We have used several moving companies over the years and this was the only company we have ever had issues with!!! We will never - I mean never use them again. I will also make sure I tell everyone I know that needs moving services to seek elsewhere!!!! I wouldn't want anyone to go through the heartache of having a lost loved one pieces of furniture end of in that condition.l When the lady asked how it was going , I said fine but it was when we started unwrapping our items from the Saran wrap afterwards when noticed the damage. Like we have time to go through a thorough inspection when it's chaotic then of course I'm sure there're charge additional money on the hour to due those inspections Sheila Clontz

From the start, I was very impressed with the timeliness of communication through the process of getting a quote and in scheduling the move. Compared to other quotes I received, they were very competitive. And I was equally as impressed with George and his crew, Colton and Cihan, as they worked to complete the job. I could tell George was well-trained in prepping the items for loading, packing the truck, directing his crew and offloading everything without any damage. In my past corporate life, I have been the inside person in sizable organizations responsible for their relocations, and George was as professional and customer-friendly as any of the moving crews I have worked with in those jobs. Having had a negative experience in my previous personal move, I was naturally skeptical and was a little apprehensive this time, but Ocean Movers renewed my faith that a perfect move is possible. Thanks for everything you did!

I have moved multiple times and have used multiple companies to move. However, never have I had such an amazing experience than with Ocean Movers. The four men that loaded our stuff (Kenny, James, Onur, Maurice ( I hope I spelled his name right), were very professional, very careful, and quite speedy. They were extremely careful to ensure our items were not only packed correctly and securely, but that they would arrive at the other end almost 8 hours away, in the same condition as when they were packed. What a testament to the outstanding level of service that Ocean provides. I also do not want to forget Amber, who was always available and kept me up to date with the entire process from when I engaged them to the end. Lastly, they were on time, at both ends, (actually quite early for the delivery), and quite efficient in getting our items into the other house. Fantastic Service. Many thank s from my wife and I.

Worst experience I have ever had. Still feels like a nightmare. Literally left with our stuff because I told him not paying for the second day until he’s done since it’s by the hour. (Because I said in front of him to my wife if any charges not valid we can dispute since was going to pay and advance so I could get my stuff) Had to file police report and drive him cash to get my stuff back. Owners are a nightmare to deal with. There is another review just like this I wish I would have saw before using them. He will say oh you’re racist, no it’s called provide good customer service to your clients. Next day go to use grill and broke piece on it so wouldn’t work, one of our canvas picture damaged. Do not use this company save your self the headache wife will sound nice on the phone but she does not disclose all the extra fees for as much as we paid it should have been white glove service. I was very nervous about using movers for the first time ever and was put at ease right away by the moving staff that came to my apartment. The guys were real polite and patient with my requests. I definitely recommend using them and will look to use them again if I need movers in the future. Update: I scheduled to use them for a second time but was greatly disappointed when I received a call the day of that they would be several hours late because a truck broke down the previous night and they wouldn't be able to get to me until later. It was a huge inconvenience and I understand "stuff happens" but being someone who is familiar with trucks and trucking industry, a back up truck/rental is always supplied so as to not inconvenience a customer....food for thought. I cancelled as soon as I found another company who came right away to my rescue. I was also able to keep an extra 150 in my pocket.

WORST MOVERS EVER! We used Ocean Movers to pack and move us from Florida to Mississippi. We requested a 2 day hold on our furnishings due to our closing date in FL and specifically requested and they agreed that our furnishing would not be transloaded. When they dept 2 of their trucks were loaded. When they arr in MS there were 3 U-Haul trucks. Due to their mishandling my wooden furniture was dented, scraped and scratched. A wooden arm was completely broken off a sette and a solid oak chair had the back completely broken off! Too much to list. Boxes were partially loaded creating more issues. After pointing out this damage to their personnel and talking with Amber, I was told it appeared to be normal wear and tear. They had no interest in compensating our damage. DO NOT USE THEM! NOT ETHICAL NOR TRUST WORTHY!!!

I hired Ocean Movers because they are accustomed to moving and storing entire homes for military families. I moved from Fleming Island to Daytona Beach, with a year and a half of storage in between. I have a grand piano and outdoor fountain to name a few of the challenging pieces. Now that I'm settled into my new home I can say that nothing, NOTHING was damaged in their care for all this time! I'm beyond relieved. Kenny was amazing and professional the entire time and so was his team. The heat index was over 100° the day of my move to Daytona and they never showed lack of energy or enthusiasm when I changed my mind about where I wanted things. The biggest concern I had at the end of it all was that I wish I would've been able to tip them even more! This move meant the world to me and Ocean Movers delivered.

Ocean Movers did a fantastic job moving us from Fleming Island FL. to Charleston SC. They arrived at our Fleming Island location on time. Having moved 6 times I was impressed with the way our furniture was padded and wrapped with cellophane before loaded on the truck. The men were courteous and loaded every piece with care. Our house was delayed and they worked with us to get the furniture stored. When our house was completed we called and set up a delivery time and they arrived early. They unloaded all the furniture with care and if my wife decided to relocate a piece they moved the piece to where she wanted it. The 2 gentlemen that delivered the furniture were outstanding and not a piece had a scratch or was anything broken. I would highly recommend Ocean Movers if you are need of a moving company.

My review is a little late but needless to say I didn't forget! Hired Ocean Movers to move my mother's belongings from Jacksonville to Tennessee. From the beginning to the end, there aren't enough words to say what an outstanding job Ocean Movers did! Their team showed up on time, Amber (I believe is her name?) communicated throughout the entire process with questions and concerns along the way, and their dedicated team showed up and promptly and carefully unloaded and put things back together. Bravo Ocean Movers! My mother and I thank you tremendously for making the entire move easy and flawless. I would not hesitate to use you again in the future! I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to move!

Horrible Horrible Horrible!!!! They broke numerous pieces of furniture and instead of informing me they hid the pieces in the closet so that I didn't notice it until they were gone. They complained about how long the move took when they toured the apartment and gave me a quote prior to the move. The quote we received over the phone was $100 less then what they quoted when they got there the day of the move. Lastly, when we complained to the manager about the broken furniture he said he wouldn't reimburse us because the move took longer then we said. He also threatened us by saying that he would have the movers call us once they got fired so we could explain why they lost their job!

We contacted Ocean Movers to move our 1900 square foot 3 bedroom home furnishings. They were on time courteous, diligent and they got the job done. Ocean Movers used a three man crew to move us. They are very experienced movers and they did a great job for us. The price was just right for your pocket book. They successfully move us in to our new home in just a few hours. We were so pleased with the worked that they did. We used them a second time to have furnishing delivered to our home. You will be delighted and glad if you choose Ocean Movers for your next move. We have to give them a five star rating. They do a great job at a great price. The Bailey's Orange Park Florida.

The two young men who moved our furniture and boxes were very good. They were professional, fast and efficient. I was sent an email with total costs but the email did not mention a cost for the movers wearing PPE ($20 I believe) or an additional service fee. Also be aware that you will be charged for an entire hour if the movers go over the hour by even 10 minutes. They do not charge by minute but by hour. (Even if they work two hours and 10 minutes, you will be charged for 3 hours work.) One of their office staff was SCREAMING at me on the phone. Everyone in the apartment heard because the mover had his phone on speaker phone. Very unprofessional. Would not use them again.

Outstanding moving experience! My family has either moved or helped move on or around 6 times in the past 4 years. This time around, we decided to hire movers. Ocean Movers were able to schedule our move on a last minute basis as we were between renovating our new home and price quoting for several different services; including moving companies. At some point between renovating, I completely forgot to book our move. Thankfully, Ocean Movers were able to provide us service 3 days prior to our move out date. The movers completed our move quickly and were very professional. Overall professional and service oriented experience by using Ocean Movers.

When I called, they were very personable and had the availability I was looking for. When the Truck showed up, all of the guys were very professional, they knocked out everything in the time quoted. At the end of the move they took the time to walk around to be sure we were happy with all aspects of the move. We needed their services only a Few weeks later to bring in My Fiance's belongings and they sent the same crew. Again, Very impressed with their personalities as well as their overall professionalism. Will definitely keep their number and refer them to anyone who needs a move.

The crew were great and worked very hard and long to get our stuff moved. I guess we had more than originally anticipated, so perhaps a larger crew would have been better. Also, the truck did not come with enough blankest to wrap everything, but luckily, we had some card-boards we used. A second dolly was most useful ( we had one, so it worked out really nice ). Overall, we are pleased with the way the move went. And yes, we would recommend Ocean Movers ( it is suggested to have a second hand-truck or dolly, and have more wrapping blankets ) .

I am beyond thrilled with Ocean Movers. They called ahead of time to verify the time and location, showed up on time and got straight to work. They were extremely nice and professional. We had a ton of stuff to move and they did an excellent job of making sure they got as much stuff in the truck as possible while making sure everything was secured properly. After a bad experience with a previous company, I am very happy with our decision to give Ocean Movers a chance. If we ever move again, there's no doubt who we'll use!

Ocean Movers was recommended by a friend.....so glad we called them to assist us in our move. The guys who came were kind, courteous and worked hard from the moment they arrived until they unloaded the last bit of our heavy furniture. They took great care of everything to insure that nothing was damaged and once everything was in place walked each room with us to make sure we were happy. Extremely unprofessional! Made an appointment for which they never showed up. I had to call twice to speak to the movers and get an eta. The movers excuse was that “It’s Monday! What do you expect!?” I expected for my appointment to be honored and some form of communication on their part. Would not recommend. They had no sense of urgency and no respect of others peoples time and patience. I’m sure they would have been careless with my belongings judging by the callous tone the mover had over the phone.

This company has mastered their technique! From my first call to payment of service it was nothing short of excellant service! They helped move a play set as well as my whole 4 bedroom house in under 3 hours!! The guys that came were professional, friendly, and very attentive to your needs. Even more than that they were CAREFUL with all items and made moving FUN! KUDOS to the guys that moved us and this company! They came recommended and now I am going to recommend them to everyone!

From the start this was a great experience! Mandi has excellent phone etiquette and there was a quick turn around from the time I made my request to the time the job was completed. Kenny and the 3 guys that arrived to move my NordicTrack X22i, were also polite and efficient. This beast is heavy and the 4 of them picked it up and moved it from my kitchen to the new room. Colton was even kind enough to put back the carpet I moved! I will use Ocean Movers again and recommend them!

Ocean movers was on time and very professional. They were efficient and kept moving even though it was hot and was a large job. They also worked with us when our closing date was rescheduled last minute and the person answering the phones is one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of working with. She is always kind, considerate, and patient even when having to reschedule our move I know was an inconvenience. We are using them again this week to empty our storage unit.

Outstanding company. They did exactly what they promised and at a fair price. They worked with me to help load a day early that helped me immensely. They did this even though it caused them to absorbed a slightly higher cost to facilitate. With a move of over 500 miles, not a single item was damaged. Total professionalism with everyone I dealt with from the estimator, the manager, the front office scheduler to the packers and movers. Bottom line is I would hire them again.

These guys were outstanding. I have moved cross country 6 times and a few in Jacksonville. Hands down I wish these guys were everywhere. They wrapped all my furniture, which no other movers have, and packed strategically in their truck. They unloaded all of my things exactly where they were suppose to go all under the 2 hour time frame!!! I will always use Ocean Movers going toward.

As a military family we’ve moved many times and dealt with many companies. However, this small job request was by far one of my best interactions with a moving company. I will definitely use them again. The owner was friendly and professional. They provided a comparable rate for the job. The movers were on time and worked very efficiently. You can’t go wrong with this company!

They were on time, careful and professional. The price was reasonable. They worked with my schedule and pick up from and drop off too new home was easy. I highly recommend their services. I have unpacked and have found nothing broken. I also was impressed that they took apart furniture for it's safety and also put it back together. Thank You to the team for a job well done.

I give Ocean Movers an A+ rating for our local move. They were responsive to several scheduling changes, and on time on the day of the move. The crew was courteous, efficient, and quite helpful in placing items as directed in the new location. We had no damage to our furniture or boxed goods. The supervisor is a man who believes in screaming at customers. He could use some anger management and customer service training. I would not recommend simply based on that interaction. Unfortunately his response overshadows any review that I would have given which would have been at least a three. Do Not Do Business with This Company.

Update: we did reach out to the owner and reported their employee who was intoxicated and all the broken items. They did not care. They did nothing. They are horrible, please do not use this company. Update 2: no, we are not a competitor. We are a family of three who are horrified by the complete lack of ethic shown by this company.

oocean movers were wonderful with my move. they were very professional and they treated us like family. I can't say enough about the owner and his lovely wife on how great they yrrayedcus from the beginning to the end. I would recommend ocean movers to everyone if they want the job of moving any where on the country.

Ocean Movers relocated my belongings from Orange Park, FL to Lakeland, FL. From beginning to end the entire move was handled with professionalism. I can't speak highly enough of the staff that moved me. They treated me and my belongings with such care. Thank you Ocean Movers for the amazing job.

I have moved many times over the years with my job and ocean movers was by far one of the best out there. I had some problems on moving day with my closing it was delayed and they worked with me thur all it. The guys were great with my stuff put blankets on everything so no damages. Thanks guys.

The team that was assigned to me did a phenomenal job with packing and moving my stuff to storage on a short notice. They asked questions and were tentative to my needs. Handled my stuff as if it was a their own. Couldn't have asked for a better team to come pack my stuff up on a short notice.

They were fast and so nice!!! I have some very old furniture that has been in my family for generations and they handled everything as if it was their family furniture!!!! I will recommend to everyone who is moving. Price was cheaper than the other companies. Thank y'all for being awesome!!!!
