"The Oceans Asian Market in Mississauga is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a kaleidoscope of colors, enticing aromas, and a palpable sense of community"
Last Sunday (Oct. 1) in the morning, we went to Ocean's at the Mississauga (Hurontario) location. We ordered a coffee cake, and asked them to put "Happy Birthday Gloria", all spelled out on the receipt, which we gave them a copy of, after we paid for it. The receipt stated that we would pick up on Oct. 3 at 3pm. Today, when we went to pick up the cake (2 days later), first, they couldn't find the cake. We waited a while. Then someone found a cake box that said 'for customer'. It was the right cake, but no Happy Birthday written on it, so we thought it was for someone else. Again we waited. While waiting, there were several employees coming back and forth, nobody knew what to do. We said we offered to take the cake that's at the cake window, for anyone to buy, and just put Happy Birthday on it. But, the staff member said 'No'. Once again, we waited. Same staff members kept walking back and forth. We were kept waiting. Eventually, the person whom we dealt with on Sunday came by. She got the cake, it was the one that said 'for customer'. She went to get a little sign and squeezes out little letters that spelled out the Happy Bday, message and put it on the cake. She then took the cake out of the box, and I was afraid that it would slip and be ruined. Fortunately, it didn't. She put the cake into a new box. Why not just keep the cake in it's original box, I have no idea. It was not smart. It was too easy for the cake to slip. Not worth it. I don't understand how such a simple thing: bake a cake they always baked, and just write the birthday note on it. I'm sure there were lots of cakes that had the bday note on it before. They had 2 days to do it too. In the end, we waited about 30 min. To get our cake. So simple, and they screwed up! Worse, nobody, not one person, apologised, or expressed that they should have done better. Never again. I wonder how many other people had problems getting their cake. I'm giving it one star because we did get our cake in the end.
Absolutely amazing huge grocery store with fresh prepared Asian food counter and freshly prepared sushi counter at incredibly low prices !!! You can find really cool grocery items from all over the world!!! Produce section is amazing! Lots of fresh and at incredible prices! There is a good size fresh fish section where staff can catch fresh for you from their aquarium. Meat and dairy sections are impressive. Lots of Certified Halal foods !!! Line ups are huge, but they move fairly quickly. Cashiers and store staff are usually friendly and helpful. Huge free parking lot is very busy, can be hard to find a spot near the store Be prepared to put a coin into the shopping cart to use it... Wheelchair accessible entrance and wheelchair accessible store. Telman - TorontoLocalGuide review.
A super store where you may find Chinese related food stuffs . It's a very nice place for those who love Chinese cousin. Almost all kind of sausage and ketchups are there The shop is very organized and the wide verity of fish available there including fresh fish or live fish .. I could see otopas, giant crabs etc there Also there is a session for meet consists of turkey, beef , pork , chiken , lamb etc The vegetable and fruit session is also very attractive and kind of inviting. Could find the fruits prices are reasonable there . Parking is more than enough for may be 50-60 cars The only issue I could find is they accept only debit card / cash which is little difficult as most of the people use credit card .. I checked 2-3 counters for billing and those takes only debit /cash
They do have great deals but they also have extremely poor customer service. Most staff just ignore you and pretend as if you don't exist. I asked one guy at the meat department when they are getting more goat meat? The guy ignorantly barked out "No, no more goat meat" and rudely walked away. Next I asked another employee where the Milo tea was. He said isle 10 so I went to isle 10 to only find this isle has noodles in it and nothing close to tea. I then asked another employee who gave the vague description of around the corner in the front. I finally found the tea in isle 4 in the middle. They need to work on their customer service here.
The Oceans Asian Market in Mississauga is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a kaleidoscope of colors, enticing aromas, and a palpable sense of community. Outstanding selection of sea food The variety of fresh produce, authentic spices, and unique finds make it a culinary paradise. The friendly vendors add a personal touch, sharing stories and recommendations. So many chocie of Japanese snacks. The market transcends shopping – it's an immersive cultural experience. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates diverse cuisines and a welcoming atmosphere!
Asian super store market with plenty of parking lots. Make sure you have a loonie to be able to unlock a cart. The store has ready to go cooler food .. a place for dining in the 2nd floor. It also has a location selling live fish and other seafoods . The store price are reasonable range from cheaper than other Asian stores for foods like frozen seafoods and some vegetables to a bit more expensive for canned and packaged items specially the imported ones. The floor is not very clean which require cleaning . Overall it’s a good store to shop from
I visited the market yesterday for purchase rice. I checked the item and price. There were whole section of rice to choose on skids. came to cashier was showing deferent price in cash register. I was asking if we can go to shelf to check the price And I got response from customer service " I don't have to go to check the price. Check the bar code which I don't know how as for normal customers. " This was response from customer support was so rude, I was asking three times for checking for shelf for price three times was ignored.
Oceans is a very very big Asian supermarket. Great place to buy fresh produce; they have a very wide selection of fruits and vegetables from around the world. They also have an excellent fish and seafood area for fresh fish, plus a large selection of frozen fish and seafood. The butchery is good and will cut to order. The number of grocery items is vast. There is an instore bakery selling fresh breads and elegant desserts. The hot foods section is a great place for takeout or there is a small seating area on the mezzanine.
Got a good selection of fruits and vegetables and not to mention meat and fish, huge actually. But the attitude of employees there are so annoying, especially the ones in fish section. They need to understand that they are not operating in China but Canada where everyone is super polite to each other. I just don’t understand the idea behind paying for the fish first by walking all the way up to the cash and then coming back again to cut it. Seriously guys? That’s convenience at it’s best!
There is a wide range of variety products available, catering to all your daily needs. The store includes a hot food section; however, I have noticed that prices have increased three times in the past year, making it somewhat expensive. The level of cleanliness is acceptable but could be improved. While the general meat pricing is reasonable, other items are slightly pricier compared to competing stores. Nevertheless, due to its convenience, I will continue to shop here.
This is where I buy all of my Chinese food when I don't feel like cooking. It's convenient and the price is more reasonable than your regular Chinese take-out and the portion is really nice. Great produce section, meat section is abundance, a varieties of hot food, the sushi area is so good.... I just love this place. I shop here quite often. My husband loves his hot sauce.
As new residents to Mississauga, we were looking for something similar to what we were used to - C&C Supermarket in Toronto, and this was it! It had everything that we were used to shopping for, though the prices were a little higher, and unfortunately they do not accept credit. Looking forward to trying their dim sum and the fresh sushi!
This is a good supermarket. You get everything here dairy, bakery items, meat, fruits and vegetables. All Asian grocery items available too. The fruits and vegetables are quite fresh. The only drawback is they don't accept credit cards. However they accept debit cards and cash. They have express checkout counter for less than 10 items.
Oceans Fresh Food Market presents a diverse array of items, with a clear focus on maintaining freshness. While the quality of the food is commendable, a renovation could uplift the store's ambiance. Moreover, enhancing the Bakery section's assortment of baked goods and cakes would contribute to a more fulfilling shopping experience.
Great supermarket with a lot of Asian stuff. You can get hot and cold foods. Plus, do your groceries at the same time. They added a asain beauty area, with all the asain cosmetics you can think of. Have a look at my pictures and press the like button! If you like what I do, press the follow button to see what I do next!
They renovated! This place is always busy, have some great in store sales too. They have fresh food and sushi take outs, great prices on fruits and veggies. Lots of baked goods. There's also a rest area above with few tables to sit and eat if you wanted. Washrooms are ok I always stop in here when in area
Most reasonable for meats and knickknacks. I rely on Oceans for my weekly stash of all things LOVE! And boy, did I tell you that I am addicted to their sushi, sushi and sushi!? They run terrific deals on their pantry section every evening - so you know where to go if you are not feeling too spendy.
Oceans is a staple grocery place which especially shines for the variety of products and fresh fruits/ vegetables. This is by far the best place to buy fresh produce at good prices. It’s a Chinese market place so expect a lot of Chinese items which is good too.
Hi to everyone, ocean used to be a nice store, but they are taking advantage of the prices like 30 eggs they sale $10.99 other stores $8.45, we are in inflation times but Ocean is charging a lot of money, people should know about it!!
Good place to enjoy asian food at fair price. Sushi quality is quite standard as well as their indoor food court. I usually like the fresshness and quality of veggies and fruits there.
Nice place to find different foods, but its hard to find someone who speaks english and you need to ask if they have a certain food you are looking for in the back
Sushi delicious and fresh. Price right. Better value than some restaurants. If you like Japanese food here is a good spot if you don't wanna break your wallet.
Nice and very clean grocery store with fresh items. The fruits and vegetables are so nicely presented, I have not seen in other grocery store.
I came here strictly for the Samyung Buldak Ramen and I left satisfied, to say the least. I saw some cool products along my quick stop.
Good place to buy fresh produce (Veggies & Fruits) but the price is quite high. They accept only cash or Debit card (not credit cards).
Vegetable department has a guy who is able to speak English but not Chinese. He is really annoying when customers are picking stuffs.
Has a lot of Indian food items available. They have a good variety of vegetables and fruits and are fresh.
The best hot food takeout selection can be found here at Oceans in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
I just purchased grayridge large egg. It shows 30 eggs inside, but there are only 25 eggs.
