I am very surprised by the high reviews, this is by far the worst shawarma place I've been to. When you walk in, the place is excessively hot, and the large number of flies that land on you make you immediately uncomfortable. You are greeted by one person who is facetiming someone very loudly instead of actually serving you. Once you are finally served 10 minutes later, you are given under-seasoned chicken, with about a teaspoon of garlic sauce. I asked for more, but he was too busy talking to someone on the phone to even listen. At this point I wanted to leave, so I didn't say anything. The chicken tasted bland, the salad tasted like it was made days ago, and the rice was nothing special. I am still confused by the high reviews. This experience was so bad I went through the effort of making a review to warn people away. Spend 5 minutes walking to shawarma palace for good shawarma.

The one man who works and answers the phone is extremely rude and unhelpful, just gives excuses on why he doesn’t serve food at 9:30pm when it says they close at 1am! I ordered two shawarma plates on a BOGO deal. It turns out they use the Uber BOGO scam and cut the portion size in half and don’t bother to include a portion of meat. I’ve never had a shawarma plate that only contains 3-4 spoons of rice! This place has been on a spiral. Terrriblleee experience, terrible food. Stingiest shawarma place in town! Overall, I understand this scam because it’s a common tactic used to keep restaurants alive, especially when the food is going downhill. But customer satisfaction and honesty is more important than making a few extra bucks.

This restaurant was a shock to me because it has stellar reviews and yet it was my worst shawarma experience ever. Sure, the garlic sauce is decent but the chicken shawarma itself is horrendously dry, excessively thick and tasteless. I don't know if it was made today but it tasted and felt like leftovers from 2 days ago. Now another reviewer said that this restaurant is piggybacking on the previous owner's reputation, keeping the name and the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I'm not certain it's true but it sounds very plausible and would explain a lot. The guy who served me definitely wasn't Greek.

I was walking past the store after spending the day at the library. I ordered the falafel gyro but they said they were out of falafel. After learning I couldn't have the other options (chicken/beef) he offered to make a vegetarian pita. I went ahead with the option because I was starving. He made a large pita with the regular toppings & added some potatoes inside. He gave it to me on the house & did not let me pay, but I left the equivalent value in the tip jar. The sandwhich was delicious & I just wanted to thank you for the extreme generosity.

I was very disappointed with my recent visit to this restaurant. The food is not the same quality as it used to be. I was under the impression that this business was purchased by the new owner and they changed the name on Google to be able to keep the same status and reviews as the original owner. This is very deceiving and I don’t think it’s right to piggy back off of what someone else built especially if you plan on running down the quality. I payed 20$ for a very small portion and low quality veggies and meat. Won’t visit again

Edit: this new place is pretty good. I tried their chicken souvlaki, was tasty and had enough flavors. Decent portion size for the price. They should put less salad dressing and let the potatoes drain before serving. Check it out. Shawarma Bits: One of the best if not the best shawarma around. The chicken shawarma does not have a lot of fat/skin, unlike many other places, and it seems fresh. The garlic potatoes are not bad, but a bit undercooked sometimes. The Lebanese pies are tasty. I usually go for the veggie and eat it on the side.

Still my go-to place for shawarma and especially poutine - I literally go out of my way to come here for their poutine. Excellent food, excellent value, and even better service. New (original) owner is one of the nicest guys ever and remembered me after several years. I highly highly recommend if you want some amazing and authentic shawarma and poutine!

Friendly employee. Had a brief friendly-chat with him too. Clean Restaurant. Very tidy. Food taste: Yummy. I'm loving my Chicken Shawarma sandwich. Pricing: Reasonable. $$ Location: Great for students and the residents of Sandy Hill area. Waiting time: No wait time experienced around 2pm. Menu: Everything one could expect from a Shawarma place; sandwiches, garlic potatoes, platters, sides etc., (see my photo of their menu) Will I return to this place? Definitely. Do I recommend this place? Definitely. My Rating: Definitely 5/5

Fantastic service and very friendly staff. Their food specifically the meat is delicious. The poutine is amazing as well, simple yet delicious. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quick bite at this area at a reasonable price.

Oka's Greek & Shawarma deserves applause for their remarkable Shawarma Platter. The fusion of quantity and quality is perfection on a plate. Truly awesome customer service. Great food. The garlic sauce is much thicker than most and I love that it’s not runny but a perfect consistency. Fries are crispy and everything in the garlic poutine is perfect after a late night out.

I saw the reviews saying the ownership changed and thus the quality does not reflect the 4 star rating. The chicken tastes old, like it was refrigerated and Chef Mike (microwave) reheated it. Also the color of the lettuce and texture of the vegetables is not flattering. Avoid at all costs!!

The Shawarma was excellent, I'd definitely go back and have it again. Poutine is not quite there thing.. but the combo was $13 with a sandwich and drink. That is excellent value. Good location and very friendly staff. The kitchen and seating area looked to be pretty clean.

The person handling the food only put plastic glove on his right hand, yet was also handling the food with his left hand...which he cleaned by wiping his pants. The shawarma chicken platter definitely didn't look like the picture shown on
