I was very excited to find my favorite tequila online and purchased 2 bottles from Old Town Tequila, paid $28.20 for S&H and anxiously waited for it to arrive so I could start enjoying it. Unfortunately I was never able to enjoy my favorite Tequila! On January 13th I arrive home to encounter a note on my door from UPS; Sorry we missed you… We'll try again on the next UPS delivery day. The following day I stayed home from work to sign for the package, but UPS never showed up! I called UPS and ever since they turned their call center to somewhere in Asia, you can't really get an straight answer from them, I was told that the district manager would give me a call the next day, which also never happened, I called a few more times and got the exact same reply every time. So, I decided to cal Old Town Tequila for help, I thought since they use UPS they might be able to help. I called, explained the situation and was told that they would look into it and call me back the next day. They never called back!!! So, I called again and at this time I found out the package was being returned to the sender. I was a bit confused, but was advised that I could just place another order. Three days later I received an email from Old Town Tequila asking me what I wanted to do, at this point I was very upset and decided on a refund. Today I got an email of a partial refund (the S&H was deducted from the total), I didn't think this was fair since I tried to take delivery of the package and was unsuccessful. I called Old Town Tequila again and explained that I wanted a full refund since I tried calling them to help me find out information from UPS, but they never called me back. Their customer service is the worst I have experienced the person who answered the phone was not willing to help at all or sympathize she asked me to go back online and read their policy, or call UPS (call UPS again? No Thank You!). Old Town Tequila should be able to understand that I did try to take delivery of the package and that I stayed home for a whole day without pay to take delivery of the package on the next following day as stated on the UPS note or at least help me file a claim from UPS, after all they are the ones that hired UPS. I would never purchase from this store again and I truly do not recommend anyone to do so. Customer service is everything!!!

Absolutely disappointed with this place ! I ordered a bottled of tequila to gift to one of my clients for the holidays. It took them over a week to ship the item out, the item arrived damaged with a broken safety seal, and at least 1/4 of the tequila had poured out and was all over the packaging. I called them letting them know about the issue and they asked me to email them pictures which I did. The process to get an answer back took over 20 days and the only reason I got a response was because I kept calling back. Their communication skills are horrible. Their email back to me was them telling me to still gift the bottle to my client. I work with celebrities and high profile people in the entertainment industry. I could never gift them what looks like an open bottle of tequila that's just not acceptable. In the state of California nothing with a broken safety seal should be accepted yet these people can't seem to get that through their head. I'm highly disappointed this could have easily been resolved with an easy exchange. I will be opening a claim with california consumers affair.

This company has terrible communication and very slow shipping. I also had to pay twice to have an item to be shipped. UPS lost my package, not Old Town's fault, and a claim was made by me and approved by UPS. UPS then reimbursed Old Town, being the shipper, and then instead of Old Town reimbursing me for the claim they charged me again with shipping as it was shipped out again. I tried contacting old town and after multiple attempts I finally spoke to someone. They said they would reimburse for the second shipping but its been over a month and NOTHING from them. Their shipping is very slow, it took them 10 days to get my two bottles of Tequila to the shipper. Why would it take 10 days for them to get it to UPS? I was hoping by ordering two bottles at the end of November that I would receive them in time for Christmas...nope! Quite disappointing on many levels. Bottom line, I would not recommend them for on line purchases, especially after reading other reviews.

Maybe this is a great business if you go there in person. But ordering from their online store is atrocious. I ordered tequila from there after a trip to Mexico on Sept 21 and patiently waited the 14 business days they mention on the website for shipping due to Covid-19. 14 *business* days pass and I email them as the status said "awaiting fulfillment" and never changed. Nothing. Nada. A few days later, another email just inquiring about status. Radio silence. I finally email (20 *business* days in) asking them if they are not going to ship the order then to provide me a refund bc I paid in full a month ago ($20 shipping!). I get an email that says that a refund was provided. Still no answer on why or even an attempt to resolve them problem. So, basically, they read the emails and decide not to respond to them. Very unprofessional and I'd rather just go back to Mexico to buy my tequila than deal with them again. Beware if you're buying online.

Really good selection but the owner doesn't have a clue about customer service. Here's a customer interested in a $300 bottle and when asked the price initially his reaction is to say to check their website! When asked if he'd tried the whiskey his snapped response was no, he hadn't, because there are hundreds of whiskies in the store. At NO point was he friendly or helpful. One would think that that's as bad as the service got, but no! The ante was upped when he then started mocking our English accents and suggesting that we should consult the Queen on the price. Awful place, they don't deserve your business. It's a shame for the rest of the staff who seemed nice but I definitely wouldn't go back. Save your money for a store that actually wants to help you out and values your custom. If I wanted to be mouthed off to I wouldn't pay a lot of money for the privilege.

Watch out if you order online. You might be pleased to see the wide selection Old Time Tequila offers, but unlike more quality online vendors, Old Time doesn’t actually stock many or even most of these bottles. After four days with no updates on my order, and no replies to my email, I was able to reach someone by phone who put me on hold for a long time. She then explained that my order was taking longer because the tequilas I ordered had to come from Mexico. I hadn’t ordered any tequilas, but rather two rums, and I doubt they were coming from Mexico since they were an Antiguan rum and a Dutch rum. Later they revealed they were coming from a distributor. Do yourself a favor and order from one of the many more honest online vendors who actually stock the items they list.

BAIT-AND-SWITCH!!!! This place is the ABSOLUTE worst place to buy from (online). I know most of these comments go unheard and the company won’t change. However, they sent me the wrong product for an event I was having. THEY SENT ME A (different) CHEAPER VERSION OF WHAT I PAID. I followed their archaic policy of “email us and we will get back to you, when we can,” then apathetically they email back, “Attached is the return label, please print it, wrap the bottle(s) as received, and drop it off at a UPS store of your choice. “ NOTHING ELSE!! Not an apology or any contact to improve their mistake or we will send you the packaging to return our product. This place is an online bait-and-switch store and I would stay clear! They don’t deserve one star.

This is a great place to get hard to find tequila bottles. They have a lot of choices of bottles. I would give this place 5 stars but there is one little issue is that they close up to 15-20 mins before their actual closing time. For example we went on a Sunday (which they close at 5pm) we got lucky and where able to get there around 4:15. When we finished our shopping. We saw people getting turned away by the staff at around 4:40. Of course the customers look disappointed. Since they closed earlier than expected. Staff turned away about 3 parties of customers. I get closing times are important but my thing is at least honor your actual closing times. Cause something you don’t know how far people actually drive to get to that location.

Poor service. They sent me an email that my delivery would be on Fri and that someone needed to be home to sign for it. They never showed. I sent an email and they responded Monday that it would be Tue and someone needs to be here to sign. Today no one showed again. I called and they said it will be Thur and someone needs to be here to sign again. I said to the cust service agent I do not appreciate them telling me to be here to sign on a date and not showing up. She said, I will process a refund and hung up. I place large orders. I was upset and searched for the same tequila elsewhere. I found that the $130 bottles I was buying are cheaper at Wine & more. I will no longer be buying cases of expensive tequilas from your store.

Wow! Do NOT place an online order requiring shipment with this place. I wish I’d read the reviews before I did! Eight days ago I placed a large online order and my credit card was charged immediately, yet for days on end the status indicated “awaiting shipment”. During these past 8 days I sent both an email inquiry and website inquiry asking about my order and didn’t receive a reply until today, only to inform me that the items I ordered were on back order with no ETA and did I want a replacement or refund. So how could my order be awaiting shipment when there was nothing to ship? And why was my credit card charged when the item wasn’t even available to ship to me?? Dismal business.

Was in town visiting family for the weekend and found this gem of a place. Their Tequila selection is amazing! They have aisles and aisles of selections. I've never seen so many various bottles of Tequila in one place!! Unfortunately the majority of the bottles do not have prices on them but no worries, the staff are super helpful and will look up pricing for you. They made some recommendations as well and seemed very knowledgeable on their products. We ended up purchasing quite a bit of tequila and the owner even threw in a free bottle of his choice tequila for us. Super great experience and will definitely be ordering more from them in the future. Highly recommend!!

International buyer here (UK). I ordered a bottle of tequila that few places had the brand and fewer ship internationally. I gave five stars despite the original bottle shipped being the wrong age (a reposado instead of the añejo of the same brand) because they corrected and made good on the mistake. I was offered options on how I'd like to resolve the issue (buy the reposado at a discount or print out a return label) and then shipped the correct bottle at no additional cost. I can only imagine they did this at a loss, which speaks to their commitment to service and doing right by their customers. I'd certainly recommend and buy from again.

Found what I've been looking for for a while. Customer service is blah but the selection makes up for it. If you are looking for something different and variety then this is the place to visit. I got there right at 8am as per google info and was disappointed to find out they didnt open til 830. I didnt double check the hours on their website but I did look to make sure they had what I neede and realized they keep pretty good listing of their stock. I recommend . Please update info on google to reflect reality as I only had a small window of time and would have been very upset if I could not have waited for them to open.

I can only speak about their online store and online orders. I placed an order for two bottles of mezcal. The website showed both bottles to be in stock. I placed the order and waited and waited, and waited. Finally, after eight days, I decided to check the order status, and all it said was: order fulfillment. The next day, I emailed the store asking about the order, shipping status, etc. No response. None. Their contact page even says: mails asking if we can ship to your location will go unanswered. I finally called the store to find out the mezcal I ordered is not in stock, and that they will not fulfill my order.

During these crazy times and some high end spirits getting very difficult to find I happened to find Old Town online. I found what I needed and received it in two weeks. Now you have to be patient. They are overloaded with orders. I called after a week because when I checked on my order it said in process or something like that. I spoke to a lady and was informed that on their website it does say that it may take up to two weeks to get the order out. That is true...I missed that. She found my order and it was shipped the next day. Anyway... got my three bottles of Don Julio 70 today and all three bottles were fine.

I came to this store tonight to look for an impossible to find tequila, and I found it! This immediately became my most favorite place for tequila. This is a fun place to just walk around and look at all the fun tequilas, many of which I haven't seen anywhere else. One warning, many of the bottles aren't priced, though I don't think this store does this to trick unwitting customers. If you find a bottle you like, you can search for the price on their website. Prices are good, actually. One warning: when I was here, there was tons of back stock on the floor. You have to be careful when you walk around this place.

Buyer beware, if you plan to have an item shipped to your home. My order of two expensive bottles of Grand Love Tequila was never delivered, and after reaching out to them 3 times, they finally answered.... that they would do nothing to replace it. Now, i'm reading the various 1 star reviews and it seems that this is their standard way of way of doing business. Yes, the price may be good, and they may have a great stock of tequila, but I'm sure there are other more reputable companies that would love your business, and that would take care of you if something goes wrong. Searching elsewhere from now on.

I have ordered a bottle I was hoping to get within a week of ordering or so. I have called to verify it was still ordered because I didn't get an email receipt etc. upon doing that I told them I ordered it a week ago and it still has not even been sent out from their shop. She told me I would get an email yesterday as it was going out yesterday and I never did. Being that this is my first time with ordering stuff from them I cant say I will do it again or recommend. Hopefully they will be responsive to my emailed concerns and get my package out so I can give it as a gift.

COSTUMERS BE AWARE!!!! As part of the community of Old Town, I am so embarrassed to say DO NOT shop any products from OLD Town Liquor! I was treated like trash by the cash register attendant. It happened before, but i thought it was a one time experience. I'm going to report this pathetic costumer service to Old Town Chamber of commerce. Old town represents San Diego, and trives to show its beautiful history. People come to old Town from all over the world, having a place like this is affecting not only the businesses of Old Town, but San Diegans as a whole.

They definitely have a huge selection. I don't know very much about alcohol, and the owners were not very helpful as we walked around. It was difficult to navigate the boxes on the floor or mounds of dusty bottles. If you want a wide selection, this is the place to go. Just also, maybe have in mind what you are looking for. I also think the prices were on the expensive side. But for someone who stumbles on a bottle they have been on the hunt for, any price is worth it. Location is a bit aways from the Old Town 'strip' where are the restaurants are.

Dont order from this store. They know about a problem with their shipping company and yet they still use them. After a 7 week fiasco of not getting the order, then receiving the order with opened bottles, I had to fight with this company to take back the bottles and resend me more. Well guess what? I received a particial refund and not the bottles I ordered. I ordered 5 because of the price of the shipping. Now if I want to replace the bottle I would have to pay for shipping again. But mostly I had to fight with them to take back the open bottles.

I bought what I thought it was a bottle of Cazadores from 2006, that's what they were showing on their website. I ended up getting one of the new bottles with the new design. I contacted them and they told me that they don't have the old bottle in stock, that they forgot to update the picture on their website. If I wanted to return the bottle, I had to pay for shipping plus 10% restocking fee. They're using false advertising, don't waste your money on Old Town Tequila.

Should have read reviews before ordering for shipment. I ordered 12/11, would've expected to arrive before Xmas but likely won't even have shipped before Xmas, no indication of shipping delays when ordering. Phone # constantly busy. Had to contact via webform and was told item wouldn't ship for another 2-3 days. Card was charged immediately despite shipping delays. Ridiculously poor service for gifts needed for the holidays.

I agree with all the low-ratings here complaining about shipping. I am in the middle of a nightmare with this company. Took 1 portal message & 1 phone call to get my order shipped, even though my CC had been charged immediately. The box arrived...with what I did NOT order. This is an excellent company to buy from, especially online. Excellent customer service and they definitely stand behind the purchases you make. I had a shipping issue with the shipping company where a package was lost by the shipper. Old Town Tequila stepped up an made it right even though the shipping company (GLS) was denying responsibility. I highly recommend buying though this company.

Very cool shop with a lot of neat things in there! They had a lot of tequila that I have never seen before, the cashier guy was very friendly & nice. I spent about 30 minutes in here just looking at everything they had. They were unboxing a bunch of stuff when I was there so a little packed but that makes sense! After reading some of the reviews I was a little nervous. I placed my order on Aug 21 and received it exactly 2 weeks later. Not bad, at all. Considering the shipping length, I was pretty happy. As a tequila connoisseur I am use to going to Mexico and stocking up on authentic tequila. However when I found this place while visiting SD I immediately fell in love. I was luckily enough to meet the owner Steve and he helped me find the Hijos de Villa Tequila and 4 other bottles. The owner knew everything there is about tequila and even has his own brand.

Dishonest and absolutely terrible customer service. After requesting updates on an order placed weeks ago they informed me they never had it in stock in the first place. This was three weeks after it was ordered and after they informed that it had already shipped and provided a bogus tracking number. Buyer beware. These guys are out to screw you.

They have a good variety and good prices, but their shipping is very slow. They will charge your credit card as soon as the order is placed, but usually will take 3 weeks or more to actually ship to you. I placed an order of 12/8/20, today is 1/4/21 and my order still hasn't shipped. I will be going elsewhere for my needs in the future.

These guys were great! We couldn’t ship to Canada. So we, instead, shipped to family in AZ. Then had these beauties driven home to their rightful place. I will say that the biggest benefit of this location is its huge selection of different hard liquors. There is so much that there are bottles of liquor that are randomly set on the floor or not organized on the shelves. Only place in the county I can find this particular tequila, Orendain Almendrado. They always have it. And EVERY other tequila I could think of.
