I was excited to go to Once Upon a Child to get my son some Christmas gear and some more clothes for the following year. Since I knew that Black Friday was going to be busy, I made sure to go later in the day. It was nice and quiet which allowed me to have my toddler walk around with me more easily. The selection of Christmas wear was understandably taken over by the customers earlier that day and the older sizes aren’t always easy to get a hold of. I liked what I got though, and this store has great deals. I was able to find some sleepers, Christmas tops, and onesie/ bodysuits. When I got to the register, Sanya greeted me and I felt at ease right away. My toddler was a lot of energy and she understood that. Everything was put through nice and easily. 5 sleepers, I was told the deal 5 for $15 and how much I saved, one Christmas sleeper and when I said that I had to choose if I wanted to still buy the sixth bodysuit, Sanya said that 5 for $5 was instead of $7.50, so if I bought another bodysuit, it would still be less than normal. Everything was folded up really nice. I got my first $5 from signing up with Once Upon a Child. I was excited that since I spent more than $35, I got a free $4 hat. Since there were largely more girl hats than boy hats, it was easier for me to choose. While I chose the hat, Sanya was able to go with another customer. (Thank goodness, I wanted to make sure that I got the hat that would work for my son.) Any way, I got back to the till and Sanya said that she would be right with me. I thanked her for her patience and we finished up the bill. Sanya was wonderful towards my son and understood that he was at the end of his day. Side note, she even helped me with suggesting YouTube ideas for his age. I am very thankful for this as now knowing that the staff here are very personable! I love stores that take some genuine interest in their customers. As I was walking out, everyone was super friendly and it was nice to leave the store with some lovely items and a great shopping experience. If anyone needs any children’s clothes, toys, accessories for good prices, you should definitively come by Once Upon a Child. Also, you are able to sell your items here too!!

I have been frequenting this store (dropping off outgrown clothes & purchasing new ones) for almost 3 years now. The store has progressively gotten messier & more chaotic (mainly at the entrance where people drop off boxes), but overall it’s been alright minus walking into other customers in tight spaces because there is not enough space to get around them. The reason why I scored so low is the staff. They are very unfriendly & impatient. Maybe I’ve come at bad times but regardless working in retail you should know how to speak to customers in a respectful manner, not that them coming to the till to purchase items is inconveniencing them. I had an incident where there was some confusion regarding a drop off and store credit which was mostly my misunderstanding, however. The employee I was speaking with and asking questions to was so unbelievably rude and dismissive. I felt as though asking a question to get clarification on a situation ( I had been told different information from another staff previously) was bothering her. She dismissed me off to other staff to collect my things and while trying to speak to the other staff she yelled that I had nothing to collect, my belongings were donated the day before because I didn’t come back to collect them. Loudly enough for others in line to hear. Why? To embarrass me because I dared ask for clarification on why I only had the option for store credit. (Which again - is not the biggest deal, I just asked for clarification). I also don’t understand the drama when YOU directed me to collect my belongings. This incident has made me feel incredibly uncomfortable to even return to this store and I would not recommend this location after this. Which is sad because I thoroughly enjoyed this store prior to this incident (even the tight quarters).

No change rooms so you have to buy things to try them. Just went to return a few ill-fitting items the next day, with receipt. Store claimed that one of the shirts I bought for my daughter (with tag on) was never purchased. Not only did they not refund me, they took the shirt back (that I carried in to return). I don’t care who messed up with their system, but to me, that’s unethical and borderline illegal. Everyone should steer clear of this business. Update Re: owner’s reply… I’m not upset that you wouldn’t process the return. If it’s not on the receipt, I get it— and I said as much to your staff. No big deal. But the fact that you *took the item* from me during the return is what doesn’t seem right. Maybe that shirt was on a different receipt, maybe another item got scanned but didn’t make it into the bag… either way I’ve never seen a store take away an item a customer brings in. Even your own teller remarked, on the manager’s decision, “that’s not what I would do”. Seems like a good way to take $6 for your business and lose a customer (and all of their growing kids) forever.

Happy with my overall experience at OUAC Macleod. Although it can get a bit cramped and chaotic when many people are dropping off items at once, the staff have a good system of processing everything in a quick and organized manner. I have done drop offs a couple of times now and am satisfied with the return (yes you could make more off marketplace, but who needs the hassle!?) I've been surprised with some of the items they have not accepted considering I've seen many items in store in far worse condition, but to each their own, and if they are overstocked in a particular size, those items may get passed over. I have definitely found some one-of-a-kind finds for my daughter there too. Jasmine has handled my transactions several times and is always very informative and pleasant!

Have saved so much money buying gently used baby boy clothes - nabbed some really good deals on designer clothes too! The store is relatively tidy and easy to sort; you can tell everyone is working hard to put new inventory out while taking new consignments in. As a seller im very satisfied with the experience, Nicole helped explain the process to me while I was inquiring. It took me 20 mins from drop off to quote since I had a small box. And if you get the stuff the same day as a trade you save on gst too! Shout out to Maria for sorting through my box so quickly and making the check in experience smooth. Love this ecosystem of clothes getting multiple uses - you save money, you make money then you spend it again on your growing child!

Dropping off today and I have a bad experience today compared from previous visits. I was waiting in line and told me wait ( she was at the counter) she didn’t help me but another lady did. I told her that I did not notice my box was a bit open at the bottom (diaper box) I put it upside down to avoid soiling the clothes that coming out from the box.. however she turned my box on the open side and I turned it again on the other side. So, I asked for 2 pieces of tape the lady gave me one and she refused giving me another one because she want to help a lady that waiting in line and asked me wait for her to gave me another one.. (I wanted to secure the box). I noticed that no smiling faces from employees. Overall experience was terrible!

Staff need customer service training and the store needs a better system of letting folks in the store when it opens. The girl that helped me check in (dropping off my items) was dismissive and rude. She didn't care that there were three customers (with multiple boxes / totes each) lined up outside before the store opened (we each helped each other carry stuff in, because that's the kind thing to do) and others barged in. They have no system to manage the customers dropping off, be aware that it doesn't matter when you show up, other customers will be helped first (if they get in first). And if you mention this fact, you'll be dismissed and ignored.

Love shopping here! There is so much to find and search through. The toys are always my favorite lol I did find that the drop off area can be congested at times but that was usually when they are closed for drop offs. I also didn't find a whole lot of selection for size 2T+ (that wasn't Puma or jeans). Not really what I was looking for. Jasmine and Sonya have helped me check out a number of times and they are always amazing. They have always smiled and answered my questions. They have told me about the events coming up and the discount program! I look forward to shopping here much more in the future!

I love this location! Prefer it over the Varsity to be honest & I have to drive further to go. Aylin, Sanya & Maria were amazing the last time I came into this location. They really went above & beyond to help me & it was busy. Plus it was a group effort which so many helped out to get me out of there faster. I find I leave feeling valued & appreciated each & every time I go in. They are reasonable with pricing, refunds & I also find almost all of my items are bought too which I truly appreciate!! ♥️ thank you so much everyone!!

I recently herd of this store and stopped by just before black Friday and I had Sanya help me then on black Friday I stopped by again and bought more cloths for my kiddo and Wendy helped me both lady's were super helpful and that store gets busy with lots of little ones running around. I will be going to this store to buy all my kids cloths they have EVERYTHING. Ladies keep up the great work your all doing AWESOME !!

I took my granddaughter to once upon a Child on Dec 1 to buy full outerwear for winter as we were heading to the High River Christmas parade that evening. Both Angela and Jasmine were super helpful in directing me to the isles that I would need. I got her suited from top to bottom plus a few extra fun things, because that’s what a Grandma supposed to do‍♀️…for only $75! And we’re talking name brand clothes!

One of my favourite places to shop for baby and children's clothing, toys, and more! I love the ethics of their business model, it helps the environment and the pockets of consumers! The staff there have always been kind, reasonable and hardworking. Yesterday, Nicole was pleasant while ringing through my items. In previous visits, I have also had pleasant experiences with other staff members.

Wonderful selection on tons of children's clothing! They also have regular sales, especially on 0-12 month sizes that I've noticed. I just got a full wardrobe complete with snow suit for my 5 month old (now fitting 9-12 month clothing!!) for $60! The staff are super helpful as well. Niki took the time to run a bowtie to me in the parking lot that I'd accidentally left behind.

I stopped in today to get my son some clothes, I noticed from a far that the gals at the counter were so kind to my boy who was making a mess of the puzzles games and toys and well just making a mess. I got him a bunch of good clothes and I am so glad that there are stores like this that make shopping for little ones more affordable. 5 Stars to the store and the cashiers.

Sonia was amazing! Was our first time visiting Once Upon A Child and she went above and beyond! She was climbing to get an item down off the shelf, tried to get us as many points as possible and saved us a lot of money! Very happy with our experience as there’s a lot of selection! Jasmine helped me checkout today and she was very nice and thorough! My only complaint was regarding the organization in the store. I know they’re a consignment but there was not much for 6m and up and everything was in the wrong sizing spot. Other then that very big store and friendly staff!

Great place to find next-to-new clothes and outerwear for little kiddos. Bought a lined jacket and a snowsuit for my granddaughter for under $20 total - both are name-brand labels and look like new. Jasmine was an extra bonus at checkout with her additional info and engaging manner.

I enjoy visiting this location on a monthly basis. The store is usually packed and there are always a ton of drop offs, but the staff are always really helpful and it is great when I find an awesome find on my visit. Meaghan is always very friendly, cheerful and eager to help :)
