I recently returned from a 6 day stay at the Parker GH and I cannot recommend it highly enough! This place hits all the high notes that a traveler wants - fabulous location, friendly accommodating staff, spotlessly clean rooms, and the most comfortable beds and pillows imaginable! The grounds and facility are the real high point - two huge Edwardian adjacent inns with the most amazing gardens sandwiched in between. There is no shortage of places to sit and relax and enjoy the ever-changing San Francisco weather, both inside and out. The nightly rate includes a plentiful breakfast of pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea etc, which you can enjoy in the main house kitchen with other guests. Or as I did, you can go into the second house smaller kitchen and enjoy your breakfast alone - OR you can sit in any of the lovely spots outside! They also offer a complimentary wine social (wines, cheese, crackers, etc) every evening for an hour. The location is one block from Dolores Park and minutes from the Castro. Public transportation is right on their doorstep with the convenient J Muni bus. Many other neighborhoods are within walking distance. I will definitely be going back to this place on subsequent trips to San Fran. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommended.

I first stayed at this property in 2007 and enjoyed it immensely. That is why I chose to stay there again when returning to San Francisco in 2023 with my partner. I was not disappointed. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to accommodate any requests or queries you may have. The rooms are well appointed and very reasonably priced. The inclusion of a very well catered breakfast is fantastic, especially given how locating and paying for an extra meal every day can add up (especially the case given the Australian dollar exchange rate). Plus the afternoon social drinks give you an opportunity to meet fellow travellers from all around the world. It gives the property the feeling of a home rather than just another hotel room. Finally the location is perfect. Located between the Castro and Mission districts with Mission Delores park a stone throw away, you get a real vibe of the neighbourhoods. City bound light rail is just outside the front door as are busses and trams bound for all the major sights of this great city. I would definitely recommend the Parker Guesthouse to any visitor to SF. Sean

I have just finished what I believe is my third (possibly fourth ....) stay at the Parker Guest House and it was just as pleasant as the previous two (or three). I had one pre-arrival issue which was settled as soon as I arrived, two hours before check-in time. Yet my room was ready and I was resting in my room in a matter of minutes The rooms are comfortable, well furnished, and well-maintained. Cleaning service is discreet and excellent. Breakfast is supplied each morning at 7:00 AM in convivial surroundings but if you need to leave before then, coffee has been set up and instructions to raid the fridge are issued. The staff is universally friendly; they are also knowledgeable and have secrets they readily share with a wide assortment of guests (many of whom are also returnees). And did I mention the wonderful garden with a broad array of seating? The Parker Guest House 'is located on on the periphery of the Castro District but minutes from several public transportation lines which take you where you might want to go. There are good restaurants for all price ranges within walking distance and it is a short stroll to the center of the Castro District itself. In short, it's a perfect destination for whatever reason you are in San Francisco.

This place had so much true character and the owners couldn’t have been more welcoming and kind. Breakfast was delicious and the backyard area was so nice. I was really happy to find two little fans on the closet. We left feeling like we had made the total correct decision staying there. Room was super quiet and comfy. Next time we come to San Fran, we’ll be booking here again. EDIT: Had to add a bit here about the location based on an adjacent review. This is San Francisco. It’s a city! It’s amazing, but yes, there is a homeless problem. You might see a homeless person...just like any other part of San Fran. We live in center city Philadelphia, so this is no surprise to us. The hotel is located right in the heart of the mission. The location is actually awesome, which is why we chose to stay there in the end. The last time we stayed in San Fran, we stayed in Union Square because we didn’t know any better - and this was so much closer to everything we wanted to do and see. So don’t be clueless about things. Almost anywhere in the city is going to have a city vibe after hours! It is what it is. I’d stand by my 5/5 review based on location, as it is no more shady after hours than any other part of the city. That is all.

We stayed here in May for a visit with family that live in San Francisco. The Guest House is actually two separate houses that were renovated and beautifully updated without removing the classic wood moldings and decorative touches that make it a real San Francisco experience. The breakfast was varied with cut fruit, cheeses, muffins, cereals and all fresh. Coffee is available in the adjoining building for early risers. There is a lovely garden in the back for a quiet breakfast with another garden with seating connecting the two houses. Rooms aren't large - but just right for sleeping. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and bathroom updated - that's all I really need in a room. Only bad thing - which has nothing to do with the Parker House - is its not that great to walk around at night. We took public transportation- which is easy in SF - and it felt a little creepy coming back late at night. There are a lot of homeless people sleeping on the street - and they don't bother anyone. Just be aware. Use an Uber if your concerned- they are plentiful in SF. Looking forward to our next trip and to stay there again. Hosts are great and helpful. It felt like visiting family.

We were looking for a place near the Mission District to visit family and so lucky we stumbled upon the Parker Guest House. From the first call gathering information until we were rolling our suitcases out the door, it was a GREAT experience!!! The room was clean, quiet, well appointed with conveniences and comfy chairs to rest or work in. The breakfast was great and very COVID-respectful (individually packaged, etc.). The living room off the lobby was so cozy - I sat with my computer to watch a movie one night, and my husband enjoyed the piano! I had a friend over for coffee in the lush, beautiful garden and another day, brought my laptop to get work done. Strong WiFi throughout! But what REALLY sets this place apart is the people! THANK YOU SO MUCH GEORGE, Dennis, and Carol for ALL of your tips on how to get around, where to go, etc., and warmth throughout our stay. We felt like we were HOME with none of the responsibilities associated :) Love Parker House & will definitely be back!!!!

My wife and I chose this place when we came to San Francisco to visit our newborn grandson. Our daughter lives in Noe Valley, only a mile away. My daughter recommended the Parker House but we were a bit wary because we usually stay in hotels. Never again! The Parker House is so much better than any hotel we’ve ever been in. This B&B will be our home away from home whenever we are in San Francisco. It is clean, quiet, and comfortable and the food is delicious. Every day there is a wine social too. This place is far away from the usual touristy crowded areas downtown. It is located in a very nice neighborhood and it feels like the real San Francisco. Public transportation is close. For example, the Muni J-Church line runs right by the front door. But what makes the Parker House most enjoyable is the staff. I stayed here for two weeks and, during that time; these men became my friends. Such pleasant and efficient people! I highly recommend staying here whenever you are in town. I know I will!

Booking my stay online was extremely easy. And when I extended my stay and needed to talk to someone Steve and all the gentlemen there were so helpful. I was even met at the gate for check in. The homes are beautiful and so well taken care of. And the Garden in the back with its hidden places to sit and just look at the flowers. I have to say this was my frist trip to SF and I plan on comming on a regular basis and will stay here every time I come. My room was prrfect, exceptionally clean and tastefully done. My window was in a flower bed so the fragrance was amazing and I will try and request the same room when I return. I had a few of my friends from the city come and see me and they loved the Parker guest house so much that they said they will recomend it to their visiting family and friends. So I am a Raveing and Loyal fan of Parker Guest House, Now and forever...or until I actually move to the Bay area.

Parker Guest House- Great B&B at the edge of the Castro next to Dolores Park. Home-like setting with common-space living room complete w/ fireplace, cognac, and books; kitchen with fruit bowl and pastries round the clock. Great serve-yourself breakfast spread and wine/cheese/snacks in the evening. Lovely garden courtyards. Loved the ease of grabbing a snack and sitting outside in-between activities. Very laid back vibe. Clean rooms. We stayed a week and helped ourselves to towels in the linen closet down the hall, asked for cleaning just when we needed it. We used the attached parking garage and lot for a few of the days- also very convenient! We were able to add another day of parking when we decided to keep the car an extra day. Great location for walking to Castro or Mission.

AWFUL service. and communications. We arrived at night and were surprised that no one was there to let us in. No one answered the buzzer on the gate. Or the call or texting. NADA.. (They knew when we were arriving so why isn't anyone there to let us in) We stood outside in the street, dark, freezing for 40 minutes. Finally the manager shows up and lets us in. She notices I'm not looking happy and says let's be positive and focus on enjoying the future or something to that effect. She explains she was eating late dinner and had a rough day. She never apologizes. Why can't they just say sorry they screwed up. She had some weird attitude. While we were outside waiting, a neighbor walked by and told us that no answer is not unusual at this guest house.

This is a quintessential B&B that has everything you could possibly need to make your stay absolutely amazing! It's nestled in a very quiet and unassuming neighborhood. From the morning breakfast to the daily wine social, I cannot say enough good things about this place. The courtyard is a super cute place to relax and enjoy the outdoors and the complimentary WiFi helps you get work done while you are enjoying the space. There are many different room layouts, but the one I had was very spacious with a queen bed and a shower that could easily fit five people. It's an easy 10 minute walk to the Castro where you have all the bars, restaurants and entertainment you could possibly need. I will try to stay here every time I'm in SF.

I love the Parker Guest House! I'm a 70 year old man who stayed at the Parker House with my wife only one night this week, and we both wished it was longer. The house is beautiful inside. It's actually 2 houses, and every detail is done perfectly. It's not modern, and that's part of the charm. It's got wi-fi and all that, but it's got Old World charm - lots of dark wood paneling. Clean is an understatement. Carol and Brian, the on-site managers, are charming, knowledgeable, and helpful. Carol is the house florist and landscape architect. The flowers, the gardens are incredible. She knows her stuff and it shows. It's very professionally run. Well worth a visit.

Such a gem of a find. I've lived in the Bay Area all my life and have stayed in many of the finer hotels of San Francisco. We just happened upon the Parker Guest House because we were looking for a place close to where we get our hair done. Staying there is like stepping back in time into a beautiful and luxurious Victorian home, with all of today's amenities. They have really kept the integrity of the period of the home. It is beautiful, clean, the bedding is high end, the staff is so friendly and really care that you have an enjoyable stay and the gardens are lush and peaceful. I don't have to be getting my hair done to stay at The Parker Guest House anymore.

Utterly gorgeous place to stay. We spent 3 nights in early September - great location to get around SF - the Muni is right around the corner and takes about 40 mins to get to Fisherman's Wharf...walk up 17th completely (it's uphill but worth it) to get to the Park - El Toro Taqueria is just up the street on the corner of 17th & Valencia (about 5 mins walk) for reasonably priced food. Wine hour is every day from 5.30 and worth making it back for, and the breakfast is a lovely addition. One drawback, which I won't mark them down for - the onsite parking is not cheap - it was around $100 for the 3 nights we stayed but worth it to not have to drive around each day!!

What a wonderful find - truly a little golden gem with an abundance of delights from spacious bed and bath rooms to the lovely well-loved gardens. The welcome and hospitality of the hosts was amazing and the generous breakfast was an ever changing horn of plenty, with colorful, tasty temptings to get us ready for another day of adventure. The coffee and tea were always ready to pour and the evening wine reception allowed us to turn strangers into friends. The Parker is a quiet haven yet just a step away from the trolley to whisk one away to the sights and sounds of San Francisco. The Morning Dew Cafe across the street was a fabulous find after a long day afoot, serving great cooking with a smile. We will return.

  • Rob Bellen

The Parker Guesthouse was very clean and conveniently located minutes walk to the heart of the Castro district. Our rooms were clean and the staff was very accommodating - even recommending a limo service which turned out to be less expensive than the cabs from the airport to the guesthouse. We stayed two nights in May '13 and three in June '13 in the main and 2nd building. There is a cable car system on the street and some street noise can be heard in the room but you are in the City, and if you know to expect it - it's not that big of a deal. Great staff, value, SAFE neighborhood and overall convenient to the Castro made the stay worth repeating. Thank you all for taking such good care of us.

  • Josh Berry

The Parker Guest House is reasonably priced, charming, very well kept, and wonderfully staffed. I stayed for business and loved the location. It was my first time in San Francisco, and the location is great. Easy walking to eateries, drinkeries, funneries, and etc. The staff excels at communication and service. They take care to make little touches that enrich the experience. Free chocolates and water in the room, free fruit, booze, and candy. What more could you ask for? The complimentary breakfast is very satisfying and the wine happy hour is fun. They have reserved parking upon request, which I used seamlessly. They easily handled my request. The PGH receives my highest recommendation!

  • Mark Li

The Parker guesthouse is a great place to stay in SF in all regards. It is located in an attractive part of the city a block away from Dolores Park, within easy walking distance to The Castro and The Mission, and easily accessible by both BART and MUNI. Rooms are very clean and neat, with anazing common areas, especially the outdoor seating areas and garden. There is daily breakfast and a wine social, which sadly I didn't have a chance to attend this time. Staff is friendly. I stayed in a queen room, which I thought was on the smaller side, but manageable. Overall, it the ambience here makes it feel like living in a neat home rather than staying in a hotel. I highly recommend it.

  • KrisCris83

What an absolute gem of a bnb. Two gorgeous old homes with a garden separating make up the property. Lots of friendly and helpful staff are around to give directions, offer you wine or coffee and to keep the grounds impeccably clean. They made me feel very special over my birthday weekend, thank you so much. We had a smaller room with a private bath that was clean but was showing a little age, the water facets worked but needed tightening and there was some groaning pipes that come along with a 100 year old home. Very quiet neighbors with a Muni stop right outside and a highschool across the street. Loved our stay and can't wait to return.

  • James Proctor

A ridiculously idyllic bed and breakfast in a wonderful location. Trendy neighborhood, wonderful restaurants in walking distance, and near public transit while away from the excessively touristy areas. Couldn't be happier with our pick of places to stay. While it can be hard to resist the call of the city, the breakfast and wine social are both pleasant to meet experiences in their own rights due to other guests from all over the world. The staff is also top notch, peasant, welcoming, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the area.

This B&B is so relaxing. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is peaceful. I was in SF on vacation and visiting family and this place was the perfect location for meeting up with them. It was great to be able to walk everywhere I wanted to go and also close to many great restaurants. I enjoyed the great daily breakfast and the social hour was also great. It was fun meeting other guests and learning about the Parker and talking with the staff who were available. I would recommend this place to anyone going to SF and I will put this on my list of places to stay when I visit again.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Parker Guest House. It was fun to stay in one of the more exciting and local areas of the city. The property definitely strikes the right balance between quaint B&B and high end boutique hotel. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The property has incredible character and feels more authentic than your typical hotel. It was a great home base for us to retreat to when not out exploring the city. If anything, one of my regrets was not having more time to relax on the property! Definitely recommend it for anyone traveling to San Francisco.

I booked this place for my parents when they came to town to visit, and boy was I glad. The place is too cute, and it has a resident pooch; being dog lovers, the parents were enamored. The rooms were beautifully decorated, they were a good size, and everything was splendidly clean and bright throughout the house--there's also a nice area outside to read or hang out. It's well located (by the MUNI rail, close to cafes and restaurants), and the people at the front desk were beyond nice.

Simply amazing. This is my new favorite place to stay when I visit SF (which is frequent, at least once a month). I used to stay at conventional hotels/motels but as soon as I stayed at Parker Guest House the first time, I knew that it was something special. The rooms are immaculate and cozy, the staff is ultra friendly and the location cannot be beat. Knowing that they have been around for a long time and that people have been saying great things about the place for many years gives me comfort that I've found a worry-free place every time I visit.

My daughter and I visited in April for a pre-college tour of San Francisco, one of the greatest cities of the world! We were immediately welcomed by Bill, the owner, and escorted to the secure parking and our spacious and airy deluxe room! The breakfasts were simple and delicious. The property was extremely clean and just gorgeous, with antique stained glass and furnishings. I look forward to my next stay! Thank you, Parker House, for an incredible stay!!

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was a decent size, the bed was comfortable and the shower provided awesome pressure. The breakfast every day was fresh and delicious with a never ending amount of coffee... bliss. We were there during the awful record breaking heatwave, so A/C would have been nice, but no where in the city has A/C so what can you do!?! The staff were so so when it came to their approachability, but we never let it get to us. The location is amazing. It is very convenient having the J train right out front.

  • Christine Hargrave

The Parker House is always impeccably clean and the hosts are so friendly and accomodating. The check in/check out process is effortless. They have policies and procedures to ensure the safety of each of their guests during the pandemic. We've stayed in the Parker House several times this past year because we enjoy spending time with our daughter and grand daughters who live in the city. We've always had an enjoyable experience.

The staff are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to make guests comfortable and carefree. Its ultra-georgeous everywhere you look! From the intrcate stained glass throughout, to the woodwork, and outside to the serene garden patio and landscaping. Super clean and beautiful!y furnished. They are generous with a variety of healthy and hearty food fare. The Parker House is a treat for anyone looking for a relaxing and charming stay in the San Francisco area! Classy and comfy! Well done!

This is little gem in the heart of Castro, which might be a better alternative for chain hotels of the Union Square. Rooms were not huge, but cosy and shiny clean. I loved hospitality of the staff and their well maintained garden, where you can enjoy sunshine drinking something good. Note, that they have quite steep stairs to the hotel buildings, so if your bag is heavy, better ask for staff’s support. Also walls are a little too thin, but it was easy resolvable with earplugs.

  • Paul M. Jones

Lovely and quaint. I am not a B&B person (more of a Hyatt, Hilton person), but this place is fantastic. Large, beautiful rooms. Great kitchen area with all day coffee and juice. Nice continental breakfast. And one of the nicest, spacious outdoor gardens I have ever seen. Even though I am on "vacation", to sit out with my coffee and laptop... it didn't even feel like work in the garden. Still not a B&B type of guy, but happy I had this different experience.

  • Mark Smith

This was my fifth visit to San Francisco and the third time staying at the Parker Guest House. I am extremely lucky to have found the Parker. The staff are wonderful, friendly, funny and very helpful with planning what you might want to do for the day. The rooms are very comfortable and maintained to a high quality. Also, the Parker does "wine time" of an evening where you get to meet some of the other guests which is always an interesting experience.

  • Derek McIver

We had a lovely time staying at the Parker Guest House. It's in an excellent location, very convenient to the Castro with public transportation very accessible. The room was comfortable and had a large bathroom. The house itself is a gorgeous old Victorian with lovely original details. They offer great services, like a fresh breakfast in the morning and a wine gathering in the evenings. Brandy in the living room, too. Very friendly and helpful staff.

  • Gerard Sanz

I visit SFO every 4-6months and this is definitely the best hotel I have ever been in the whole valley. The rooms are spacious and clean and the common areas are great. They have a nice breakfast, social wine on the evenings to talk with other guests when visiting and they even have a steam room, despite I have not tried it yet. The hosts are super nice, and the place is very conveniently located off Dolores Park so definitely recommended!

  • Javier Bargas-Avila

The Parker Guest House is a nice, clean and cozy Bed & Breakfast place, situated in the Mission. The rooms are ample and the people are super friendly. Its located close to public transportation (Bart) and a 10-15 Minutes car ride from downtown. Close to the Parker you have Dolores park, to get some fresh air, and the Mission is full of fantastic restaurants and bars. If you are not into fancy room service, then PGH is your place to go.

  • Katherine Owen

This is a very precious place with a caring staff. If you like having the experience of being in a true neighborhood and rooms that are cleaned to perfection and have the feeling of "home" this is the place for you. I love being there and being able to get up and go the gym up the road in the morning and catching the J to the Embarcadero. I also love being able to slip down late at night to make my favorite cup of camomile tea.

  • Daniel Church

My boyfriend and I stayed here over President's Day Weekend and had the absolute best experience! The accommodations were wonderful, and the breakfast was a great way to start the day. The gardens and facilities were beautiful and extremely accommodating. The happy hour was also a lovely touch to wind down at the end of the day and get to know the other guests better. We would highly recommend the Parker Guest House to anyone!!

  • Kaitlyn McAvoy

Such a lovely, cute and friendly place! Room was super clean, grounds are beautiful and welcoming, especially the gardens! Plenty of space for sitting outside to enjoy complementary wine they provide for guests! Major plus: right down the street from Dolores Park! Parker Guest House is why I choose B&Bs over hotels and even AirBNBs. Nestled between Castro and Mission, Parker Guest House is in the heart of SF yet it's on a quiet street. The property is gorgeous, and located next to Dolores Park (a hidden jewel for locals with incredible views of the city). The room was great, strong wifi, decent cable. And the staff was helpful and treated us like honored guests.

This was the first trip to San francisco for my partner and I and a friend said we should stay at The Parker House. Well he was right, this place was the best. From the moment we arrived to the day we left 5 days later the staff was great and very helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. I plan on visiting San Francisco again and whenever I do I will stay at The Parker House every time.

I lived in the Dolores Park neighborhood for years, so the Parker Guest House was a no-brainer for me on visits back to San Francisco. However, it offers so much more than a great location. The staff is warm, the private grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are well appointed and extremely clean. An evening wine social and morning breakfast are included in your rate.

Charming bed and breakfast, with warm, friendly, helpful staff. Several mornings we had to leave early for a tour, and they had breakfast ready for us. Nice selection of bagels, danish, oatmeals, coffee, tea, and juices. Room was clean and comfortable, with its own private bath. Attractive outdoor courtyard with fire pit. Also has a spacious sun room with a porch.

Brilliant guest house with a really homely feel to it. The staff were fantastic. There are great healthy options available with the included continental breakfast. Brilliant location, just off the Castro with a tram station around the corner. The neighbourhood itself is nice to walk around, and Delores Park is great to go for a relaxing walk around on a warm day.

Really enjoyable experience at the Parker Guest house. It's in a great part of Town and i'd come if it was just for the breakfast! My only negative would be that the main road that was outside my window has a tramline that was quite noisy into the night and early morning but otherwise an all-round great place to stay.

Love this place. My 5th visit and it still has all the Cosy B&B charm from my first 10 years ago. Excellent breakfast, that has really become quite the selection with good filtered coffee. Friendly staff that are there to make your stay a great one. Sldo a perfect location to feel like a local. Highly recommend.

Recommend to anyone who is stopping in SF for a night or two. I was only here for one night, but bas very comfortable here and the staff was really helpful in finding places to eat and the like. Wine hour was fun. Great living room with a cozy fire and a really nice deck/patio. Nice rooms. Clean. Great!

Excellent accommodations..our unit had a private street entrance and enclosed patio. Does not surge price even during convention season. A real find. Minutes walk to Dolores Park, all the restaurants, shops, and other Mission district sights. Classic, elegant SF Edwardian building. Highly recommended.

The Parker Guest House is absolutely lovely! We enjoyed out stay there and can't wait to go back in non-Covid times. Everything was very clean and our arrival was contact-less. 10/10 recommend!

Wonderful place! Super friendly and helpful staff who offer great suggestions for places to visit and how to get there. Beautiful, clean, and well-maintained premises. Lovely extra touches like the wine social and a decanter of brandy in the parlour. Would definitely stay again..

I love this place, by far the best booking I did in the states. The location is great, the atmosphere is cost, it felt like home. The breakfast is great, and the bed is wonderful. They have a beautiful sun deck, and a medium yard that's super cozy. Definitely will come back.

This was a great place to stay in SF. The guesthouse was clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was generous, the wine flowed in the afternoon. The neighborhood is filled with awesome restaurants and landmarks. We will stay here again when we return.

This hotel was absolutely lovely, the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodations are spacious and comfy. Great free breakfast, coffee and kitchen available close to rooms. Great neighborhood. Highly recommend. We will certainly be returning.

Affordable, cozy, and close to the fun of the Mission and Castro. This is my new favorite place to stay. It has a sunny patio, comfy beds, and friendly staff. It's in a neighborhood where I feel safe, and close to busses and muni train. Walkable to BART.

Great location for public transport all over the city. Much better value than city centre hotels. The staff were all friendly and approachable, and provided a great social occasion with other guests with their free drinks and nibbles every evening. John

I recently stayed at the Parker Guest House on two separate occasions and found both visits to be flawless. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. The rooms are immaculately kept and tastefully decorated. I can't wait to stay again!

Wonderfully redone house. Excellent Staff. Great Breakfast. Charming Room. A little mildew in the bathroom :( Good Location. Fun happy hour with guests from all over. (forgot to do this review last year after our stay over New Years)

We had an absolute memorable time here and it was so great to finish off a big day of sightseeing at the Parker. A HUGE shout out to Scott who made us feel so welcome and was outstandingly helpful - you’re the best.

Dennis at the front desk is amazing. Beds were comfy, the space and amenities were nice, and the backyard is gorgeous! Free breakfast and a complimentary wine and cheese hour, 5:30-6:30 I believe.

Loving our experience. Wonderful staff and walking distance to many fun places. Even though we couldn’t park in the garage, street parking wasn’t that hard to find.
