Awful Awful Bike shop, I bought a 2nd hand bike from this shop which was sold with a 'untrue wheel'. I noticed something was wrong within the first week of buying, brought it back and said something was wrong. They pretended it was something to do with the reflectors on the wheel. After realising the issue wasn't fixed, I returned a few days later and said that I wasn't happy I was sold this bike in this condition and asked for a refund or for it to be fixed. They did not accept either and said because it was second hand they weren't willing to give me a refund and either were ignorant to how to true a wheel (which when I took the bike into another shop they noticed instantly) or they just purely didn't want to do it. Either way one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had in my life. In fact this is the first google review I have ever left, purely because I was so frustrated with this shop.

Stopped by on the way to work to ask for a cheeky bit of lube spray as the rain washed off my dry lube - rooky mistake not checking at home. They didn't oblige, but I did ask about my carbon seat post that seemed stuck and the chap said to loosen the bolt and tap the saddle rails with a hammer. I tried it and it worked. I was so worried that the post has seized to the frame. Went back again on the 19 March as my rear (disc) brake was running. Turns out there was no pad. Had stock of the pads at a good price and gave sound advice about fitting them and how to push pistons back in. I asked about front disc as well. That was worn too. When I replaced the pads that evening it turns out there was zero pad left on both sets. Thank you to the chap in the shop for checking and the advice. No rub or squeak this morning. Also now know the signs of worn pads.

I recently went to Parts and Labour with a recurring creaking sound coming somewhere from the bike. Having taken this to several different shops already, i had received several different recommendations to solve the issue from each, with none of them working. On taking my bike into Parts and Labour, Tom took the time to assess what the issue was and identified that the issue was from dodgy bearings in my pedals. He was thorough and took the time to explain the source of the issue, making suggestions as to how to progress if this wasn't the source of the problem. 100 miles later and the sound has now gone for the first time in 12 months. An overall great experience.

Cyclists of London, go and meet the P&L team! I've had an AMAZING experience with these guys! I can't rate them highly enough. Ben has been so incredibly patient and helpful, answering all my questions (over both email and on the phone) as I was trying to choose a new bike. He was happy to explain the pros and cons and give me advice to ensure I got the right bike for me. I've also had excellent experiences in-store. I popped in one drizzly Friday - Matt and the team were able to service my bike super quickly. They even noticed that the bracket for my light was being held on by rubber bands and replaced it for me at no cost. Will definitely be going back here :)

Editing so you know my problem, i took my bike in for a service as you know, and I picked it up after you said it was finished and instantly could hear the issues with my rear hub were far worse then when i took my bike in. I know what a rear hub service should consist of and this should have been resolved straight off the bat when it was serviced, but it wasn't. If I hadn't the time to take the bike back to you, you would have happily charged me £100 for incomplete work. Whether the work wasn't completed first time around is either due to you thinking you could get away with a rushed job or due to incompetence from the person servicing.

  • Io

Rude and condescending staff, after a lot of unhelpful back and forth, bought an overpriced spanner and a chain which they did not cut to the correct length even when given the right length chain to use as a reference, too short for the bike now and a waste of money. Spoke down to us the whole time, arrogant attitude and acting as though the repair we had on our hands was beneath them, "not worth the faff" for an extremely simple 2 minute job.

Love love love! The guys at Parts and Labour Cycles have been a big part of incorporating cycling into my life - starting from a complete novice to a cycle commuter (still learning though!). They've been patient with my ignorance and super helpful at every turn. SO happy that they're in the neighbourhood - not just for the excellent service they provide but also the fun and friendly manner in which they do it! Couldn't recommend enough.

  • Ben Howell

I arrived for cycle shoe cleats at 2 minutes to closing and they let me in, had what I needed and supplied the tools for me to make the repairs to my shoes. It was dark and wet outside and I got what I cane for; parts and a roof over my head under which to fit them. We had a good chat and while I was there the man helped someone else. You can’t buy this level of customer service. Go there and see a cycle shop as it should be.

  • Felix Schon

Best bike shop in SE London, if not the whole of London. Will go out of their way to help you with whatever bike problem you have, whether its a flat tyre or a whole new bike build. Expensive knowledge of all kinds of bikes from road and gravel to unicycles and peddlos. Great location as well being easily accessible from new Cross, lewisham, and Brockley. Definitely pop in and see these guys for all your bike needs.

  • Thomas Jackson

I dropped in a barely functioning bike and less than a week later picked up, what is essentially, a brand new bike. The folks here did an exceptional job on my bike. Top it off, I'd expected a hefty price but for the work they put into it, but I thought it was very modest and reasonable. I would 100% recommended Parts and Labour to anyone needing a bike serviced. Some before and after photos included.

  • James

Really friendly and knowledgeable guys. I couldn't find a singlespeed I liked so they built up an awesome custom one -- fun and agile for commuting, rides like a dream and looks great. Fast, good communication throughout, nothing too much of a problem. They also serviced an old road bike and went above and beyond to get it back in shape after years of storage -- especially to repair a dodgy shifter.

  • Matt McFahn

Extremely friendly, helpful, and quick service. Had a replacement wheel fitted by Ben to my B'Twin Triban 500. He provided great advice over an email, and fitted the wheel taking only about 10 minutes while I waited, and even helped me out by adjusting the brake pads on the back wheel and giving great advice. Very helpful if you're not a bike enthusiast and only use a bike to commute!

  • Nikolay Gurgula

I'm a beginner and don't know much about the bikes. Thought that it was a problem with my used bike that you have to click twice to shift the front gear. These guys replaced me a cassette, chain and a derailleur and then told me that it is supposed to work like this... I did not mind to replace those parts, but this was not solving the problem, which I thought I had.

  • Mr Jikes

Brilliant service by Ben et al. After being let down by another LBS which resulting in me being off the road for a number of weeks, Ben went out of his way to get my wheel rebuilt despite the lockdown just having come into force. Ben also delivered the wheel to me once finished. You can't say fairer than that. I have a new favourite LBS. Highly recommended!

  • Mara Tatari

Hands down the best place to bring your bike! Not only do the guys know bikes in and out they are super polite and honest and by no means try to rip you off. They do their best to finish the job as fast as possible. I brought a bike on the verge of collapse and got back a 'stealth' one! I am super happy and wouldn't change them! Thanks for everything!

  • Nick Jupe

Got these guys to build me a rear wheel (disc with screw on hub for freewheel). Really happy with the outcome, even managed to source matching parts. Excellent quality, workmanship and communication. Highly recommend. EDIT: 2.5 years later, its seen some serious mileage and abuse, and still running smooth and true. It also has a matching front..

  • Jof Arnold

The most knowledgable, skilful and friendly staff in any bike shop I've visited at any price point. It's the kind of place that you'd equally trust with a £10,000 super bike as you would a rusty beater. I went there with an issue with my bottom bracket and would have been in and out in 5mins if we'd not started chatting about bike stuff :)

  • Chris Lucas

Just what a local bike shop should be, these guys love bikes of all shapes and sizes and it shows. The hand built wheels I got are top notch and amazing value. 6 mths of thrashing around Gravel and CX course and they are still true as a arrow! I doubt I am ever going to buy off the peg wheels again and Ben will be my go to wheel builder.

  • Laurent C.

My Genesis Day One was heavy to say the least, so I stripped it to the and brought it to P&L to be built up with new wheels, headset, bar tape, chain, and carbon fork. Brought in on Saturday, got it back on Tuesday morning. Bike rides like a dream now, buttery smooth. Thank you again for a great service, I'll be back! :)

  • james wheeler

Got a new bike and managed to completely biff the gears attempting to adjust them myself. Dropped it off here for repair and the cycle chads fixed in in around an hour! Spot on with the price too! Learnt two lessons here: 1) don’t try to fix a bike when you don’t know how to and 2) take it here to be fixed!

  • James H

Very friendly staff. Had tried to do a few adjustments with my gears at home and bodged it, thinking it would cost a fortune to sort, cables everywhere that sort of thing. Rad Bikes sorted me out for £12 with a two hour turnaround. This is the type of local no fuss bike shop I want. Five stars all the way

  • Chris Mann

Professional independent shop. Clearly loves, and are knowledgeable about, all things bicycle. Beyond excellent communication (responded to my email request for quotation in 7 minutes!). Offered additional advice and suggestions. Friendly customer service and I have total faith in their integrity.

  • Christie Day

Punctured my front tyre on Friday evening. I messaged out of hours and got a response almost instantly - took it in the next morning and they sorted it for me in about 30 minutes! They also pumped my tyres up for me. Super friendly, good prices and very helpful. Would definitely recommend!

  • David Williams

I don't need to visit often, but whenever I have a problem that is beyond my modest skillset, they are always willing and helpful, offering advice and great service along the way. Highly recommend. It's not easy running an independent bike shop - so always support your LBS when you can!

  • Will Cole

Honestly the No.1 bike shop in South London. Genuine guys, super friendly and always give great care to your bike. I have been back a couple of times now to fix various issues with my old vintage road bike and every time these guys have gone above and beyond to fix the problem!

  • Inga Sirv

Highly recommend this shop. Went there as was having trouble with tyres of a pram that I just bought second hand. Issue was solved swiftly and at a very reasonable price. Was given good advise about maintenance too which I really appreciate. Really good customer service.

  • D DC

Brought in my shoddy bike for an upkeep and left with a makeover of only the parts that needed replacing as per my request. Genuine guys. Hard worker and honest service. Think they threw in some parts for free too (probably out of compassion for how terrible my bike was)

  • Tom Allen

Just the bike shop you need! Friendly staff explain things simply and give you the available options without trying to belittle you for not knowing the niche terminology. Super reliable work, and cheaper than the bigger cycle shops in the area. Strongly recommended

  • Peter Range

Super happy with the work I had done here. The guys were super clear at drop-off about what needed to be done and how long it would take. On top of that it was done sooner than expected and cost less too! My bike rides like new now, can get back out there now.

  • Danyella D

Have had my bike serviced here a few times now and they are absolutely great. Always super helpful and really quick turn around. Also - never made me feel silly for not knowing much about my bike! Best bike shop in the area hands down, highly recommend.

  • GWH T

Got a repair for a flat tire and burst inner tube, with that came friendly service, useful advise (for a cycling novice like myself) and the job done for a reasonable price. Will absolutely go back for any further repairs. Thank you very much Rad Bikes.

  • Nick Fee

Went in to get new pedals. The chap there was incredibly helpful, and took me through the different options. His colleague then fitted them for me there and then. Service was friendly and informative. I’ll be there for all of my bike needs from now on.

  • Cate McCarter

Thank you for making my bike work again with a professional and speedy service! I had a problem from another bikeshop which Ben fixed in a jiffy. And he even smoothed down the spikey bits on my mudguard that kept making holes in my jeans. Very pleased!

  • Charlie Bowden

The guys in the store couldn't have been better. The noticed a problem with my hubs during a rebuild and bent over backwards for get the parts to fix them. They kept good communication and I couldn't be happier with my new wheels. Highly recommended!

  • Aviv Cohen

Kinda bummed out - bought over priced pedals from here, then asked if I could borrow the wheel spanner to replace the pedals myself and the guy in there refused... Not great service, not a good vibe - especially from a local independent bike shop??

  • Vanessa Fortune

Really nice pair of lads own this independent workshop. Always very polite, friendly and helpful. I first went out of convenience and have kept going back because they know what they’re doing and offer a good quick service for a reasonable amount.

  • Chi B

Not only helpful but never felt any pressure that they were just trying to get a sale or take my money, restored my second hand bike and it now rides like new! Also sorted out my Dad’s bike and with great turn over time too. Thanks again guys!

  • Olivia Kelly

I’ve never left a review for a bike shop before because frankly I don’t always find them very approachable. I have to say this is hands down the best and friendliest bike shop I’ve ever been to in London, and I’ve been to a lot. They are so

  • George Rudland

  • Natasha Godfrey

As cycling past Deptford I got a flat tire - I googled bike shops and this place was closest. They were amazing, despite having a full day they still managed to squeeze me in - friendly and good value I would 100% recommend them.

  • Marko Starcevic

Had a great experience with P&L - the service was excellent and the guys that run it were both very friendly and helpful. My bike was better than new after I got it back. Definitely coming back for all my bike-related problems.

  • Johnny Hood

The guys that run this place are awesome. Super friendly, profoundly knowledgeable and thoroughly professional. Sort of blokes you'd happily go for a pint with. This is my new favourite bike shop. Keep up the great work guys!

  • Daisy Harvey

So impressed! I crashed my bike, they fixed the issue with the handle bars and gave it a check up for £50. Turned around in less than 24 hours. My bike feels like a whole new bike, so lovely to ride. Thank you so much!

  • hume1234561

The service is so good at Parts and Labour you'll want to bring a table and chairs and dine there. I can honestly say I would never take my bike anywhere else now that I've found this place. 5 stars is not enough!

  • Brandon Garcia

These guys are amazing. The second high-end bike I bring to them and no matter of issue they always seem to resolve with great efficiency and total fairness and transparency on price. I am a returning customer.

  • sarah smith

My bike needed a few bits sorting on it and noticed Rad Bikes had recently opened up near me. So chuffed with the work that was done and my bike now goes like the wind. Thank you, would highly recommend.

  • Patrick Irvine

Took my bike in for a service recently. Good communication about what they would do and how much it would cost. Very reasonably priced. My bike felt like brand new afterwards. Definitely recommended.

  • Lara T

As an amateur, new to road cycling, Jo was absolutely wonderful. There was nothing wrong with my bike and she kindly showed me, with no judgement whatsoever, how to use and look after my bike.

  • William Leigh

This place is an example of why you should support independent shops. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, they did a fantastic job on my bike this weekend. I'd highly recommend them.

  • John O'Neill (Fair Old Saunders)

Excellent quick service (they've always finished jobs faster than they originally tell you in my experience) very fair price for work/parts. Friendly, efficient staff, highly recommend.

  • Giuseppe Renga

They have charged £20 just to tight a gear cable, brought by me, to the front derailleur. A robbery!!!! These people are taking advantage and honestly they don't deserve a good review.

  • Mike Hills

Really lucky to have this place as my local bike shop. The guys are brilliant - knowledgable, friendly and always eager to help. The shop has a good stock of all the essentials too.
