This is the first review I have ever written but, after 2 disastrous experiences, I feel I should warn people about Pasadena Medical in Pasadena, South Australia and Dr. Nyoli Valentine in particular. The first bad experience was about a year ago when I discovered a simple wart on my foot and my regular Doctor wasn’t available. I thought any doctor could handle a simple wart but after 3 or 4 painful dry ice burning sessions over a period of several months, the wart was still there and I returned to my regular doctor treatment. Perhaps I should have realized that many of the finer doctors don’t choose to work in converted 24 Hour Fitness Centers in small shopping malls. Yesterday I needed a prescription refilled and once again my doctor wasn’t available for at least a week. How hard could that be? Then I had the misfortune of being assigned to Doctor Nyoli Valentine. I took the empty prescription packet in and explained the problem, that the doctor I have been seeing for more than 10 years was not available for the next week. The medicine was used infrequently, as needed, and the last refill had been several months ago. Perhaps I should have realized there might be a problem when the desk chair in her office had been replaced by one of those oversize fitness balls. At first I thought it just may be some virtual signaling and acknowledgment that she practiced in a converted fitness centre. I quickly realized that it also enhanced her ability to look down on her patients, both physically and psychology. First she questioned me in condescending tones, much like an all knowing mother speaks to a particularly small child. Being in my 60’s this was not really appreciated. She then told me that she didn’t “like” the medicine my doctor supplied and suggested another which I explained had been tried and didn’t work. She refused to consider the empty medicine packet in front of her, calling my Doctor’s office or checking with the Pharmacy that I had been going to for more than 20 years, which was 2 doors away in the same shopping centre. Dr. Valentine then told me that she refused to supply my medication and would only “help” me if I agreed to take medicine that had been tried and found ineffective. When I responded that medicine that had been tried and found ineffective wouldn’t be much ‘help’ her reaction was astounding. The already considerable condescension escalated rapidly and was joined by a substantial serving of moral superiority and self-righteousness. So please be aware of Dr. Nyoli Valentine and Pasadena Medical unless you prefer ineffective treatment delivered with moral superiority, self-righteousness and a heavy dose of condescension.

Absolutely couldn’t speak more highly of this Practice. Called up in the morning with a sick baby and wanting to go to a doctor who will actually listen to me and not treat my daughter like just another patient like we have been in the past at other doctors surgerys. Carol was so lovely and compassionate when taking my call and managed to slot us in as their last appointment. She could have said no so they could have gone home to spend time with their families but they were kind enough to see us. We saw the beautiful Dr Elaine and I’ve never felt so comfortable with a doctor. She listened to what has been happening with my daughter, sympathised as a mother and was just so kind and empathetic. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to attend a Practice that actually cares about their patients the whole way through. You never hope to be regular attendees but at least I know that my family will be looked after when we do.

Charging a level B consultation for a basic level A consultation is a little dodgy, all I requested/required was a sick certificate, and a level A was far more appropriate for such a basic problem. The consultation seemed unnecessarily and almost deliberately prolonged because I was a new patient. I did mention that I wasn't interested and didn't want or consent to a full and unnecessary history, as this visit was a once off. I did query the Level B charge, but I was given the default "new patient" speech. The GP should be the primary health provider/contact for all Australians, but It's quite disappointing and off-putting when this sort of practice occurs, I don't think it's fair that I (the gap) and Medicare (tax payers) be overcharged.

I have had continual disappointments with this practice. After persisting for a year with Dr Lock who seemed reasonably proficient I have decided to change to another clinic. Other doctors I have seen were either inexperienced or rude/dismissive -:perhaps due to being behind schedule and under pressure? After organising a.care plan it took a week for them to forward the information despite me calling them to follow it up. The only positive I can really say is that two of the reception staff are friendly-. The biggest issue of all was a massive procedural oversight with regard to their influenza vaccine administration which failed to adhere to ATAGI guidelines and could have been very dangerous.

"Having visited Pasadena Medical Clinic recently, I was truly impressed with the level of care and professionalism exhibited by both the staff and the doctor. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly, and the administrative process was seamless. The medical staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and took the time to listen to my concerns. The doctor was not only skilled but also displayed genuine care and provided thorough explanations regarding my health inquiries. Overall, my experience at Pasadena Medical Clinic was outstanding, and I highly recommend this clinic for their exceptional service and compassionate care."

The two stars are for the lovely receptionist staff and that's it. Dr Lock doesn't take mental health seriously at all!! he is very quick to dismiss it and say it's low level when it affects every aspect of your life. Thank god i stopped coming here and started seeing a real doctor. The drs here provide minimal service but are more than happy to take your money. With so many amazing bulk bill centres opening with caring doctors, don't bother with this place!

Staff are friendly and polite. Their online booking service is awesome as I can book our appointments anytime of the day/night. My family and I have been seeing Dr Elain Leung for about 4 years now and even though we recently moved houses, she's still worth the extra travel time as she is too good to replace! Very professional and great advice. Couldn't be happier! Highly recommend!!

Clinic discriminates. An absolute disgrace. Our medical professionals are there to support their patients in the best and most respectful way possible. It is their oath to do no harm. The harm is done. Refusing people access to medical treatment due to their medical history is both wrong and funnily enough - complete irony. Will never visit.

Cannot speak highly enough of this clinic. "Girls" on front desk always happy, kind and caring whenever you attend clinic. Dr Matthew Webber is above and beyond.....nothing too much trouble. Added bonus you can have blood tests whilst you are there. Definitely rates 5 stars.

Staff at reception is always helpful. The doctor that we go to pretty much always runs on time. So rare this days. They are very helpful and great with kids.
