About 3 months ago I bought a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T convertible. This is a luxury car with a turbo engine and, when I fueled up, I used cheap fuel even though it is recommended to use Premium. Just after I fueled up with cheap gas the second time, my check engine light came on and a friend of mine with a code reader told me it was fuel related. I immediately blamed my thriftiness and quickly went out and bought some octane booster and fuel injection cleaner. The car started running really rough, idling super low and, eventually, after a couple of months of driving like this and giving the car nothing but Premium gas, the engine started to cut out altogether when I came to a stop. Not every time, but often enough to worry me. Needless to say my anxiety was high every time I drove the car, so I decided to take it to Pawlik. Before even looking at the car, Bernie said he thought the problem was not related to the cheap gas and that the timing was coincidental. After doing what he does, he discovered that a valve was blown and creating a bad vacuum leak, which was compromising the air/fuel ratio. Bernie took the time, as he always does, to explain the process he went through to diagnose the issue, what his findings were, how he proposed to the fix the issue and what the cost was going to be. He also let me know of a couple other minor things to keep an eye on but assured me that the overall health of my car was good. After he finished the repair, he again took the time to show me the valve he’d replaced and walk me through what he experienced when he road tested it with the new valve. And then he washed my car for me! Bernie and his team are extremely knowledgeable, professional but easy to talk to and, above all else, extremely thorough. You never feel like you’re being taken advantage of and you feel that only what absolutely needs to be done is being done – there is no overselling or scheming to get you back in the shop. I highly recommend Pawlik Automotive and I certainly understand why it keeps winning the Georgia Straight’s “Best of Vancouver” award. Oh, and by the way, my car now runs like it’s brand spanking new. Thanks Bernie!
My Response: I understand your curiosity to why 3 years after I write this review (actually the review was written earlier, then I added to it through an edit much like I am doing now) also, consider that I have thought about it all this time. It just doesn't go away. Well, just for the record, those different services that I had done at your shop were your shops recommendations to fix my one problem. Everything I stated is true and I had no issue paying the invoices that never fixed my critical issue. Honestly, I may be one unsatisfied customer out of hundreds who really like you so, I will leave you with that. Maybe just remove the "we are rockstars of mechanics" from the pitch Original review: I originally thought Pawlik Automotive was the only garage that correctly diagnosed my BMW but this is completely incorrect. It was just by chance that I had a reoccurring engine issue with my BMW that to this point was never properly diagnosed by any company (even BMW) and with each misdiagnosed repair costing on average $2000 by the time I went to Pawlik I had already spent over $10,000 in misdiagnosed repairs. Well, Pawlik sells itself as the "rock stars of mechanics" that is what the manager told me and this is why their hourly rate is higher than other shops but here is the kicker; they performed no differently than any other shop had. They also left me in limbo pushing me off over several days awaiting diagnostic report when I was told it would be ready next day. They should have just said 'give us a few days' but no, keep providing me with false expectations. Oh and the false expectations doesn't stop there. Even after the repair while trying to leave their parking lot the same problem occurred and so I had to leave the car again, had additional repairs done with assurances this time it is fixed. WELL! LOL nooooooooooope. They have an amazing 5 star sales pitch but overall experience it is at best 2 stars and they are no different than any typical garage repair trying to sell a service. I have another vehicle now and I am not bringing it to Pawlik.
I have a 2010 MINI Cooper S that I love, and hope to keep running for years to come. I'd grown increasingly disillusioned with the quality of care and service offered by BMW Vancouver (MINI Vancouver closed their own service facility a few years ago and now BMW "services" MINIs, begrudgingly, it seems). I found Pawlik when I Googled "MINI Cooper service Vancouver", and read great reviews from other MINI owners. My car was due for oil, filter and some general maintenance, so I brought it in to Pawlik. Scott was wonderful, the detailed estimate was incredibly helpful as was a discussion with him about "what we might want to do, next". I will definitely return to Pawlik. They're awesome, and a throwback to when service really meant service. UPDATE September 10th, 2023. My sunroof jammed and wouldn't fully close. MINIs are notorious for this. I took my car into Pawlik and asked Scott if they could just get the sunroof closed for me. I was worried that it would cost a mint (as repairing MINI sunroofs can be expensive). The team cleaned out the guides as best they could (lots of old gunk in there), and Scott gave me the warning that even though the sunroof may open and close, the same problem's going to happen as there's some hardware that's worn out. So a couple of hundred bucks later, I'm happy as can be. I'll get Pawlik to fully repair the sunroof in the spring. THANKS AGAIN, Pawlik!
2 years ago, the experience was solid. Today, not so much. The salesperson was very patronizing throughout our dialogue over work to be done. I have asked them, if they could use the diff oil I have provided. This individual put up a big fuss how they ONLY use their supplied LucasOil 75w-90 and the oil I had in mind (Motomaster 75w-90 Golden bottle produced by Shell Canada) is trash and I should return it. Ok. Sure, go ahead and use your supplied oil. Not a problem. Next day, I come to pick up the car. Paid the invoice. Thanked them for the work done. Get to my car and 2 golden bottles are not there. Without leaving their lot, went back and I have asked, if the mechanic used my oil after all. Salesperson jesterly responded, "Oh, did I charge you for the oil?" I did get the refund. But if the oil I provided was just fine for your mechanic, why patronize me in the process and then charge me for it? Also, I found that my dash cam has been unplugged without me being asked. How was this related to the rear differential work? The car is still someone's property, it is not yours to do whatever you feel like. Very disappointing. 2 stars only, because of the warranty provided and in hope that the rear diff work was done within proper specs.
Never actually went to this shop, but had an interesting telephone conversation with the shop's personnel (receptionist?), so just wanted to share. I called in the morning to find out the cost to replace the thermostat on my BMW 335i. I was told that they would call me back shortly with a quote. about 3 hours later, no one called back, so I phoned them again to follow up. I was told that parts are "anywhere between 50 and 200$" and for labor I have to come and show them the car so they can estimate. At this point I said thank you and hung up, since it was pretty much - "we have no idea how to do this work on this car" and moreover, they did not even try to find out within the time between my two calls, so they just suggested me to come in blindly. I sincerely hope that the actual shop mechanics are more diligent and proactive, and would suggest to the management to train their reception personnel better.
I had my transmission rebuilt on my Subaru Forester less than 2 years ago at Pawlik. The service seemed very expensive but, after doing some research I gathered there was no better place to take your Subaru when it needs help . Recently I started having problems with my center diff ( viscous coupler) . I emailed Pawlik with no response. I then called Pawlik and explained my problem hoping for some advice or service. They said they would have a service writer get back to me, Again no response! After this experience I would suggest Pawlik’s customer service is lacking and if you need your Subaru fixed take it to a dealer, the price would be similar if not less but , a dealer would make the time to respond to your questions and concerns. I spent a lot of money at Pawlik Automotive and they could not find the time to return a call or email. Find a different place to get you car serviced! Kevin Ahearn
I had a big engine job for a Mercedes diesel SUV and Pawlik were so quick at diagnosing the problem, had all the necessary equipment to do the diagnosis rapidly and were familiar the make and model of my vehicle from previous years of work on diesel engines. When other shops couldn't take my diesel vehicle, weren't able to diagnose the problem without hours of work, or weren't willing to work with the insurance company for my extended warranty, Pawlik took the job right away and spent literally days getting the warranty company and my approvals for every aspect of the work. The cost was relatively reasonable, Neil and Bernie were always supportive, courteous, helpful in all aspects, and ready to answer my questions. They sent engine photos and digital reports which I really find useful for maintenance records. I will definitely go back for future work.
Had a brake issue. Based on positive online reviews, took my car in for a diagnosis. Technician returned a detailed report that I received via SMS and email in the time estimated by the advisor. I've never had any shop, dealer or otherwise, communicate in this way, and I thoroughly appreciated it. I had a quick chat with the advisor and booked a rear brake replacement and front brake service. Final cost was exactly as quoted and I thought it was fair. Communication was great throughout and work took the time they said it would. The owner, Bernie, even followed up a week later by phone to check if I had any issues with their work - none, of course. Again, the follow-up was something no shop has ever done for me. I think they're one of the few shops that show they care by their actions, not just their words. I'll be back!
i discovered pawlick automotive around 25 or 30 years ago the bussiness has grown in that time because bernie pawlick is an honest mechanic. i went to him after being told i needed major work,i went there for a second opinion. not telling i'd seen another mechanic, i said i think its and i told him what the other mechanic had said. i got a call an hour later saying "you've got 50,000 more kms on that, you need a disributor cap adjustrment,, and new poijnts and plugs." he did an oil change rotated my tires and topped up my fluids for less than 10% of the other quote. and, they lent me a car for the time they had my car. an honest mechanics shop, i found it. i have sent many friends, they have all been as impressed as i am. give yourself a break, try pawlik automotive repair. my highest reccomendation.
I take my Toyota here for regular servicing here and have found Bernie and his crew to have incredible integrity in maintaining my car. They answer all my questions, go through the servicing in meticulous detail, and give me great tips for keeping my car in top shape. My car sounds and runs beautifully after a visit. They don't do any unnecessary work (Bernie wouldn't respect it) and are always genuinely friendly. Finding an honest auto repair place where they not only take pride in their work, but also always look out for the long-term care of your car is such a relief. I recommend Pawlik very highly. Last time I visited, when I asked where to find a pharmacy, Bernie even offered drive me to one while I waited for my car to be ready. That's not just good service, that's genuine kindness.
As always, Pawlik Automotive team members were - responsive: dead battery, I was wondering if other electrical problems, called end of a Monday and they got me in the very next morning - courteous: service advisor Scott explained work and charges and answered my quetions in a respectful way - thorough: all electrical system assessed - high quality work and parts: battery was a higher-end model; charge to me was less than price predicted by my auto-mechanic friend - efficient: ready in a few hours - very clear: texts and emails with photos, explanations, and invitation to call for more details - easy: can review estimate and approve by text or email, and can pay invoice ahead for efficient car pick-up when complete. Thank you for being my trusted neighbourhood auto mechanics!
Brought in to look into a sagging front suspension. Charged $211 for a diagnosis but they couldn't say what was wrong. Suggested a nitrogen refill and a $9500 strut replacement on a $14000 vehicle on a "suspected" strut leak. I said know to the crazy quote but said do the refill. When I picked up the truck they said the nitrogen was up to spec so they couldn't fill it at all but still charged me for hooking up the machine. They got it wrong on every count. I won't be back. Overall terrible experience with a garage that is lauded as one of the best. *Update - June 2023 - Took it to a great shop in North Van. It was a $60 elbow valve. Fixed. Now imagine how many people this and other shops errantly charge thousands for a $60 fix. Thank God I said no to this ridiculous quote.
Find Pawlik online in combination of reviews and video podcast channel. Interested videos posted what gives me decision to come. I was looking for awhile great repair guys to help with vehicles problems and service . My experience in total was satisfied may be not very cheap in labor and parts but it compensate 2 years warranty ( Actually same as dealership but much cheaper in total price at the end ) . While car was in service I was informed with email and text for detail (Photo and video ) problems found and request for work approval . Honestly even dealership did not do this service like this , I think is very great way to make customer satisfied and be informed . With car problem I came to Pawlik was fixed in time matter have no complains.
Bernie and his crew at Pawlik Automotive are incredibly helpful and willing to work within your budget to get the job done right. I had recently purchased a used 2001 Ford Sport Trac which was having issues with the coolant system. I need the truck in working condition but wanted to ensure that I wasn't having any unnecessary work done. Bernie and his crew really earned my trust and had no problem answering questions. I didn't feel pressured to have any work done that I didn't want. Also, once they were done with my truck they showed me the old pieces that were replaced. Bernie Automotive provided me complete piece of mind. I would not recommend taking your vehicle anywhere else. A+
I was not satisfied with the business at Pawlik. I hired them to diagnose and repair a clunk in the front of the vehicle. It was $160 to diagnose. They told me it was the sway bar links when in fact it wasn't. $540 later and the clunk is still there. I could have replaced the links myself for less than $50. All this tells me they didn't take the time to properly diagnose the problem which for $160 would be an hour or so of thorough checks. They also didn't take it for a road test after they had put the new links in and I'm guessing didn't take it This in conjunction with the over priced parts and long labour time has led me to this poor review.
Do not let them touch your vehicle I brought my diesel truck here they ended up doing some” fuel pressure tests” and now low and behold I have a giant fuel leak I’m assuming it wasn’t put back together properly and now they want to charge me again to fix it. Update I ended up looking at it myself and found there is an upper fuel filter to which the cap magically came loose by itself don’t see how it’s possible to come loose when it was never an issue before coming to pawlik auto I’m sure if I had just brought it back like they expected they would have taken two seconds to get a wrench on it and charged me a few hours labour DO NOT COME HERE!
Overall, happy with the prepurchase inspection I had performed by Pawlik automotive. Glad I got it performed as it revealed a lot of things about the van, and definitely saved me a lot of money in the long run. My only complaint would be that I had a 9:30am appointment, and the van wasn’t able to be looked at until after 2pm due to some jobs spilling over and taking up the hoist. I would’ve appreciated a phone call, at the very least, to let us know that the van wouldn’t be looked at the until the afternoon, so that the seller and I could’ve coordinated our days better. Regardless of this I will still return to the shop in the future.
This was not the best experience I have had at a mechanic shop. It was in fact chaotic the left hand didn’t seem to know what the right hand was doing there was mass confusion over my emailed request, and in the end my sons car broke down on the way home! They were apologetic and made it right by fixing the problem they missed , even though it was described in detail to them. The owner responded to my complaint very politely and honestly , but I didn’t find the front of house gentleman too helpful at all, when I called to say the car had broken down he seemed completely unsympathetic and glib . Wasn’t impressed.
I've been trying to find a garage in Vancouver now for years. I've think I've found it with Pawlik Automotive. Someone that is good and experienced enough to actually diagnose and fix my problem and at the same time reasonable in their rates. I own a 2005 BMW M3 so not your normal passenger car. I've had every problem fixed for good and have appreciated Bernie pointing out other issues that I didn't even know existed. I'm very happy with the service and recommend everyone give these guys a try if you are tired of expensive dealerships or mechanics that are cheap but don't know what they are doing.
on 4-26 2016 i did talked with a service advisory,. i ask a specific job what i need to get performed on my 1999 ford escort. i wanted the 2 front lower ball joint replaced and the wheel aliment . , the service adviser refused to even give me a verbal estimate. be aver this guys like to suk you in and rape you as a lot of other mechanic he stated he have to see the car to give an estimate. i understand if he like to perform inspections and other works but he was ask for a specific job not for investigating and repairing anything other then a 2 ball joints. he is really UN friendly and dis honest,.
Took my car here to get my out of province inspection done on my 2007 Audi S8. Guys we’re very knowledgeable and thorough with inspection . I had asked them to check a few things out that were concerning and they found some issues that I had no idea about. Car wasn’t driver last couple years and some maintenance was required. Ended up getting a walnut cleaning done while the manifold was off for another repair. Saved me money by doing it then and there. Car is running beautifully and all other work was done to my satisfaction. Would definitely trust these techs with my car again. Thank you :)
Pawlik Automotive has been my auto repair shop for 12 years and 4 vehicles. Bernie and his crew have shown nothing but professionalism, honesty, and respect the entire time. I have never felt taken advantage of, or pressured into services that were unnecessary (which was not the case at shops I used before). Even now, although I live all the way in North Vancouver, I regularly make the trip to drop our cars off for maintenance. The awards that Pawlik Automotive have earned in the Georgia Straight and other publications are all well-deserved. They're the best.
I threw a rod in my 350z track car and needed a complete engine replacement. Not one of the shops (including tuner shops where I'd been before) would take on the job but these guys did in a heartbeat. Neil, the service advisor at the time was a professional from start to finish, as was the mechanic who did the job. These guys are a cut above the rest. I even take my car to them for oil changes now instead of doing it myself just to give them more business! Highly recommended. Give them a chance next time you need work done. You wont be disappointed.
Got a PPI here on a car a purchased about two months ago. PPI seemed super in depth and to accurately describe the car, so I flew out and bought it. Here is how my PPI went. "No leaks at all!" There was so much dirt and coolant caked around the water pump from it leaking you couldn't see it. "Runs perfectly" High idle, misfires, and crazy hesitations when doing a pull, and blows smoke. There were so many other things they neglected to mention as well. I highly recommend looking for a different shop when needing work or a PPI done.
I brought my 5 series BMW into Pawlik Automotive with a rough idle and a check engine light. BMWs can be notoriously difficult and expensive to diagnose and repair, but the mechanics at Pawlik quickly determined the issue (a vacuum hose leak) and repaired my car for a very reasonable price. Communication was excellent. Neil was friendly and informative, and the emails I received detailing the repair needed as well as the overall condition of the car were very professional and detailed. I would highly recommend Pawlik Automotive.
It's now 2021 and I'm still so impressed and appreciative of the incredible service and great work each year. I'm a customer for life! I’ve been going to pawlik for a couple of years now for my 2002 Volvo. The staff are incredible. Neil and Cassie are the main people I get to talk to and they are always kind and informative. Service is fast, thorough and they only go ahead with any additional work once they have the go ahead from me. An online report including pictures and a full write up is so helpful. Lifetime client here!
I cannot begin to state how impressed I am with the work that Pawlik Automotive Repair did on my 2014 Mercedes E550. I just moved here a few months ago and I was searching for a reputable shop to bring my vehicle to, then a friend recommended I go see Bernie at Pawlik! The customer service was great, constant communication, and full transparency with all the work they were doing! If you are looking for a quality automotive shop at a reasonable price, I would absolutely recommend Pawlik automotive for any repairs and work!
Read some very positive things about Pawlik but didn't really get to see how good their mechanics and/or service actually is. Called a day before and made an apt for first thing in the morning to diagnose an issue, dropped off the car, came back at like 10:30 am and they still haven't looked at it :< ! So that's kind of frustrating. They seem to be a good mechanic (pretty busy) but communication ... communication ... communication. If you needed it for the day or the morning, then tell me,. To me, an apt means something.
Had a very positive experience with Pawlik. Had an oil change and an inspection done on an older ca . The inspection was emailed to me with a link to a very descriptive inspection page with pictures and notes. Had some more minor work done after the inspection as well. I only dealt with Cassie during the whole process and she was very informative and very detailed in the communication. Strong communication is greatly appreciated and what I look for when searching for service partners!
Bernie & the people at Pawlik Automotive are probably the most honest and reliable automechanics I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have taken 4 of my vehicles to them and each time has been an exceptional experience. 4 of my friends have taken their vehicles there and have had similar experiences. One time I took my vehicle there and Bernie himself helped me fix the solution within 5 minutes and didn't request payment. This is truly a great & honest business!
I was very happy to have found Pawlik as an alternative to servicing my vehicle at the dealership. Unfortunately a minor leak in the windshield seal required three trips to their shop and about 1 week without a vehicle. On top of that, I was charged $500 to repair an issue that did not exist prior to the vehicle being in Pawlik's possession. Or, in other words, I was charged to fix a problem created by Pawlik. My search for a quality Volvo repair shop shall continue.
My Volvo Service centre told me the earliest they could get me in for an engine coolant issue would be two weeks. After searching for other Volvo repair shops in the city, Pawlik came highly recommended. I called them and they were able to get me in the next day, WITH a courtesy car to use while my car was in the shop. They had a part ordered from Toronto which came in the next day and my car was fixed the moment the part arrive. I am now a loyal customer of theirs.
Bernie and his team clearly know what they are doing. Great customer service along with high quality work, fast turnaround times and fair pricing. I am usually sceptical of places that are known for 'great customer service'. In this day and age, great customer service usually comes at the expense of value for money. These guys somehow manage to deliver both. I would not hesitate to recommend Pawlik Automotive to anybody particularly for more complicated jobs.
Hands down the best mechanic experience I’ve had in Vancouver. Niel and his team are incredibly professional. I took my Toyota 4 Runner for fuel injectors replacement and they did an incredible job, keeping costs really fair at the same time. They sent me reports with images to my email trough the entire process making it way easier and transparent to understand what was being done with the car. I’d recommend them anytime. Thanks guys!
My car had the check engine light on since the new year, so I went to another repair shop, they tried to fix it a couple of times but did not work, which was very frustrating. Then my friend recommended me Pawlik automotive, they found the issue and fixed it. I really appreciate their very detailed report after checking the car, which proves they are very knowledgeable. Thanks Bernie and his team, I will definitely recommend them.
At 03:30hrs while enroute to employment, my engine developed a serious mechanical issue requiring immediate attention. Drove to PAWLIKS AUTOMOTIVE and dropped the vehicle unannounced. Despite their volume of pre-booked appointments, PAWLIK accurately completed the diagnoses, repaired the issue and had the vehicle ready at the end of the day. Simply the best and the service is second to none.
Such a seamless experience this morning! My husband took his truck in this morning, after getting an appointment yesterday, was given a courtesy car so he could head straight to work, got a call and an email outlining the issue and full scope and quote for the job and the truck will be repaired in a few hours! Could it get any easier?!! I highly recommend Pawlik automotive
Neil and the guys at Pawlik have always been straight forward, clear, and honest when it comes to the work needed or done on your vehicle. I have never been oversold or had reason to question their recommendations. I always leave feeling satisfied my car had been repaired and in excellent condition. There is no wonder why they after consecutively voted best in Vancouver.
Was told I had to replace my front ball joints as they were an immediate risk to my (and others) safety. Had another mechanic check out the car to reveal that they were pretty much brand new and confirmed this by calling the previous owner. Sad, as the guys appeared to run a professional and transparent business. I am really disappointed with this outcome.
I've been using Pawlik Automotive for just about 2 years now, and every time my experience is great! They have always gone beyond, are responsive and have always accommodated my timing needs. Work is clearly explained prior to being performed and estimates are always accurate. I'm glad to finally have found a place that I can trust. Thank Bernie and Team!
Pawlik Automotive is the only choice for Cleaning With-Love and our vehicles. They are honest, reliable and great at what they do. If you are looking for a great michanic in Vancouver the best choice is Pawlik Automotive. Bernie is the owner he is very hands on. Super informative and helpful. He is our first and only choice.
Ive been taking my porsche to Pawlik for many years. Staff is great. They let you know whats going on with the repairs as they happen. Love the text updates with photos of your car and the parts that are being worked on along the way. If you appreciate exceptional service and a team that cares this is the place to go.
Performed maintenance on 2014 Smart fortwo electric drive including battery coolant replacement, dessicant pack replacement, 12V battery replacement, and a full safety inspection. The communication around the work was very easy as they sent a link to a detailed estimate of the work via SMS. Overall excellent service.
Absolutely outstanding service. Took my vehicle in to have an engine sensor replaced and they got it done super fast and for a fair price. The service writer even stayed for an extra 15 min past closing time because I was running a bit late picking it up. I'll definitely be using Pawlik again for my vehicle services.
Pawlik is a recommended independent BMW shop on Bimmershops.com. Scott was friendly and Edward, the tech, was efficient. They used top quality parts, and gave me great recommendations for potential upcoming service. And, yes, decent savings over the dealer cost. This will be "my shop" for this car. Thanks guys.
Burnie was awesome, he took time of his day to answer few questions I have about my vehicle. I'm located in the states and I found a video of him explaining a scenario on these cars and he took time out to help me understand it more. Very nice guy who called back and explained in depth little more for me.
I Found Pawlik on YouTube and one of their videos addressed the problem I was having with my Land Rover, I noticed they had good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I am please to say they were fast, professional, on time and on budget. I would highly recommend if you want an honest shop.
Excellent service and work. I've used them a few times now for my car and they have always been courteous, efficient and friendly. I've had no problems with my car and in the last visit for an oil change, they even washed the car 'on the house' since it looked a little dusty :) Many thumbs up!
I needed an out of province inspection, Kathy was fantastic. Even after some items required attention, they took it to the body guy that day. My car was returned cleaned and in better condition than I left it. Will definitely be returning for any further work, they went above and beyond.
I brought my '08 Jeep Wrangler into Pawlik Automotive for a little bit of work. I'm very pleased with the service and quality of work done. It's good to see a friendly owner running and operating his business. The bill was identical as the quote provided for his service. Thanks Bernie!!
Very thorough and professional service. The techs really seem to know what they are doing. Transparent pricing and clear communication. Quick turnaround times, within reason. The online individual vehicle profile and repair status updates are a nice touch that is extra informative.
Pawlik has been servicing my cars for many years. I have a 1976 Mercedes 450SL that they have helped me maintain. They are always very prompt, helpful and honest. Never tell me to do more than I need to do and have kept the car running beautifully. I would highly recommend Pawlik.
I am happy with the service I receive at Pawlik Automotive Repair. Bernie Pawlik not only does regular maintenance on my car but if I ever have any problems, he finds and explain the problem and gives an honest evaluation, price and time frame for the repair to be completed.
Pawlik performed a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) within 24 hours of my inquiry. They were prompt, professional and provided an in-depth report with photos to reference. They were also very receptive to my questions and helped me make an informed decision on the car. Thanks!
I am very impressed with Pawlik Automotive Repair after my first visit for my '03 VW Jetta TDI. Scotty was very helpful and thorough, and did not attempt to sell me any unnecessary upgrades. Prices were reasonable, and staff were friendly. Would for sure come back!
Decided to try Pawlik based on the positive reviews I have seen online. Pawlik met my high expectations. They really seem to care about both you and your car. I was also impressed with how knowledgeable the office service advisor was with my make of car. Well done!
Pawlik Automotive is straight-forward, honest, efficient, quick, they have serviced and inspected my cars for years; simply the best, I won't go back to anyone else. Highly recommended. Nice people to deal with. Beats the ridiculous prices the dealers charge too.
I have used Pawlik several times now. I really appreciate the report they give me. They include photographs and detailed description of what needs to be done, so I can review the report and take appropriate action feeling confident. Kind staff too, doesn't hurt:)
I have been a customer for almost 10 years. Pawlik Automotive has always been extremely reliable, providing quality service and repairs, along with helpful advice. Bernie and his staff do an excellent job - it's easy to see why they're consistent award winners.
My 2014 Land Rover had a coolant leak and alignment issue. The Pawlik team did a thorough diagnosis and fixed the problem. Now my Land Rover runs like new. Thanks to Bernie, Scott, and the rest of the gang at Pawlik for the amazing work! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I'm always a bit afraid of finding out about my vehicles issues. However, they always seem to find the issue, repair it and get my car back to me quickly. I would recommend this auto repair business, without hesitation. #freakedoutfemalecarowner
Didn't spend any money at the shop, they took the time to discuss my issue with a 1997 mercedes c230 transmission and after concluding they may or may not be able to verify the fault, they vouched and referred me to different people for the job
Great service. Came to Bernie with 'Check Engine Soon light'. He quickly identified the problem and replaced it. He also charged me less than he initially estimated. Good when you feel when someone not trying to rip you off but really helping
Had to get our engine looked at after having to be towed from the side of the road. Bernie looked after our Jeep within 24 hours and even rotated our tires after realizing we head overinflated a few of them. Great service and quality!
Very enjoyable interaction with this shop getting a service and some other work done on my 1991 Ford Econoline. Didn't try to upsell anything and was honest about what needed to be done now and what could wait until a later date.
I've always had great and honest service from Pawlik Motors. I really appreciate the personal touch they bring and the detailed inspection reports they send to me from every service. Definitely recommend them for car servicing
Went in to get tires replaced, not only did they swap out the tires professionally, they even washed my car! Love the service Neil and the team provides. Will recommend this shop for anyone that requires high quality work!
Thank you to Pawlik Automotive for taking such great care of my Subaru Forester! I love taking my car to someone I trust, knowing that I am getting excellent value and an honest review of what my car actually needs.
Excellent service - took in my car for an MAF sensor failure and they cleaned up the battery terminals on the house while there. Tech saavy as well, proving pics and a full email record of their service while there.
Your short article on the Touareg radio switch was perfect. I dont know anyone that could have solved this, I know I would never has found that! Thank You again, I wish I lived in BC and could repay the favor!
Had a bad thumping noise from suspension. Where another repair shop failed to correct the problem. Pawlik correctly diagnosed the issue, fixed it and returned the vehicle ahead of schedule. Great work guys!
Not impressed ! at all. he charges you the same like a dealership (maybe a bit cheaper) without showing you any evidence (bills) of the new parts replaced; i got ball joints and front tires replaced 3000$
LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING that needed to be fixed on my vehicle. Don't be fooled by their silly app with pictures telling you that these are urgent fixes. Quoted 4000$ over the next mechanic. DON'T BE FOOLED.
Bernie and the team got me in in and out faster than I could have hoped after a smash up. Tie rod was rolled straight and the Workhorse was back on the road! Quick, confident, quality work every time.
These people are professional mechanics, solid quotes and work. They are on time and thorough, saved me some money by fixing a seized caliper. This is why they receive so many awards year after year.
Fantastic customer service. Always a pleasure to bring either of our cars in for repair at Pawlik. We’ve been clients of theirs for over 5 years and we always trust their service and advice.
Went there with my Cts all the way from Chilliwack because no one else showed much interest in figuring out my issue. My problem is fixed and my car runs perfect again! Thank you so much :)
Pawlik continues to provide detailed diagnostics and prompt repairs at a fair prices. They have been able to diagnose issues that the dealership can not and fix them once and for all!
Excellent service, very up front on costs and helped manage expectations on an older vehicle. They are quite knowledgeable and have recommended to friends and family. Many thanks.
Excellent work, communication and detailed list of suggestions / estimate provided for recommended items requiring attention on my classic old car. Running much better now.
Always a pleasure to have the keen attention and communication provided by Pawlik staff. Review of pending concerns is great for projecting future costs of maintenance ADA
Straight up and professional, they even did a little preventative work on an ailing part to help keep my sled on the road longer between services! Good folks. 2 thumbs up.
Called to ask about diagnosing rough idling on my 01 rav4. Was told that their hourly rate is $211/hr... I asked to confirm again, an was confirmed this rate! HOLY SMOKES
After a nearly $10,000 estimate, i got a second opinion and found out that i was being duped big time. I need to spend $2000 to get the needed repairs. Not impressed.
Most trustworthy mechanic dudes in the lower mainland. Pawlik Automotive has been my mechanic through 4 cars and 15 years. Wouldn't dream of using anyone else.
Quick and easy service with no pressure to do extra work. Very friendly staff. Called a few days after service to make sure everything was running alright.

Good price and good service. I was impressed with the online notification of recommended additional service authorization and payment options.
Friendly service! Came for annual maintenance and they didn’t recommend a bunch of expensive add ons. I respect the honesty and great service!
