If by "express" you're thinking high-speed train and/or non-stop trip to downtown Toronto, then you might be in for some disappointment. This train is no more faster than your average subway train, and it makes two stops along the way. The 30-minute ride to Union Station downtown is still faster than the upwards of one hour you'll be spending on the airport bus + subway to get downtown, but calling this "express" is a bit of a stretch. The $25 price tag (per person) for a roundtrip ticket can also be a turn-off, especially since you can get a day pass for city buses and the subway for about half the price (although, as previously mentioned, the airport bus + subway route takes more than hour). Also, you can't buy tickets on board. And don't expect to access this train directly at your airport terminal. You will first need to take a "terminal link train", which ferries passengers between terminals and this train. Back to this train, it's comfortable, modern, and clean, and it arrives at roughly 15-minute intervals. To save on cost, we bought the "family long layover" round-trip fare, which only costs $26 for both myself and my travel companion. The catch is you have to be on your return ride to the airport within 7 hours of using the ticket, and it's valid for up to two adults and three kids aged 19 or younger. They also offer other discounts, which you can check at their website.

1 thousand lbs of rotten tomatoes to the asian/filipino lady at the ticket scan. She was and still is the core definition of vile and useless. She INTENTIONALLY gave me the wrong information after refusing to not only help but even refused to listen to my ticket situation to resolve it. She literally made a simple question and situation frustrating. It's been so long since I've received such terrible service as I'm always respectful and cordial as I've worked in customer service before. Even after her bad behavior, I didn't yell or insult her. Nope, I don't do that. This review is for you though. She stated the upexress kiosk only helps airport employees and aren't open. Well, I asked another airport staff, not only were they open, I intentionally got a physical ticket as proof she helped me with my situation. And I do not and have never worked for the airport. Should I have gotten her name? Nope, literally not even that important of a person. She knows herself once she reads this. And to you madam, that INTENTIONALLY made my experience unnecessarily difficult. The rest of your life will always be a reflection of the experience you gave me today. People will help you only up to the extent you helped me, they will INTENTIONALLY give you wrong information and cause you to be frustrated. Nothing more or less. Enjoy your own medicine.

I recently had the opportunity to take the Union Pearson Express from Pearson Airport, and I must say, the experience was fantastic. Several years ago, it was already a clean and uncrowded option, but when I took it last month, I noticed a significant increase in its popularity and its integration with Toronto's transit system. The station itself was bustling with activity, indicating its growing popularity among travelers. Despite the increased traffic, the station remained well-maintained and clean with security on site. I was impressed by how seamlessly it connected with other transit options in Toronto, making it convenient for travelers to access various parts of the city. As for the train, it was spotless and comfortable. The interior was well-maintained, and the seats were comfortable for the duration of the journey. One notable aspect of the Union Pearson Express is its affordability, particularly if you have a Presto card. At just $9.25 each way, the price to downtown Toronto simply cannot be beaten, making it an excellent choice for me! Overall, my experience with the Union Pearson Express was outstanding. It is a must for any visitor to Toronto who is headed downtown from the airport.

This service only suits someone who is travelling alone, has no luggage and lives / stays walking distance from Union Station in Toronto. I hate to rain on everyone’s parade but here’s the facts: unless you live right next to Union Station (or one of the other stations along UP line) this is the worst possible way to get into Toronto. Yes, it does seem relatively inexpensive at around $12 per person (one way), it can quickly add up if you’re travelling with family or friends. On top of that, if you have to switch to TTC Subway from Union, add $3 per person. An airport taxi costs around $40 to most places south of Bloor. Don’t forget the inconvenience of having to tow your luggage all over Union Station to get to the TTC Subway. I’d rather pay an extra $10 and get the full door-to-door service from a Taxi. If cost is your biggest concern, you can now get UberX from Toronto Pearson which would be a much better alternative. In short: Skip the UP and take an Uber!

Greta way to commute to Pearson airport from Downtown Toronto. How to get to the Downtown UP Express Terminal: - You can either take the TTC Line 1 and get down at Union Station and walk 10 approximately mins to get to UP Express via Concourse Level. There are a lot of helpful signs on the way to help you reach to the station. - Or you can take an Uber. Set the location as "4 Station St" to ensure it drops you very near to the UP Express station. Before boarding tap your presto or buy tickets at the station. There is also a help desk right near the boarding area, an ATM and a coffee shop (Balzac's). As soon as you get down at Terminal 1, remember to Tap off. You can then make your way to Terminal 1 arrivals/departure Or you can take another train from Terminal 1 to get to Terminal 3 (usually takes less than 5 mins for transit between the terminals). As of writing this review, one way ticket costs $9.

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of customer care or support. I have been met with nothing but "I can't help you" from anyone that works air canada in the Pearson Airport, been told I need to call their 888 number and speak to someone on the phone. Your phone menu is disorganized and does not let you select the proper category that you are looking for. First 5 calls I was hung up on and my 6th call I have been on hold for over an hour yet to know when I may be able to talk to someone. I dont appreciate your lack of care for your customers, it would be very helpful to have someone face to face to help you but that is apparently no longer an option For that reason I will NEVER book a flight with air canada again and will be sure to advise my friends and family of this poor service.

Would be 2.5 stars here because the train itself is nice and tends to run exactly on time. I'm removing stars because online directions to which airport terminal the train leaves from are not clear when browsing the website. That's a bit of an issue for folks with mobility problems. (it's terminal 1, down an escalator and across a bridge. Fairly well marked when you're actually inside the airport). -They have also removed seating for awaiting trains and reduced trains to leave every 30 min, rather than 15. Every 15 only at peak hours. Subtracting another star because ticket purchase is a bit unclear for out of town folks looking to pre-purchase round trips.

The Pearson terminal is fine, though it took us a few minutes to find it since we started in terminal 3 and the UP is in terminal 1. Machines were there for ticket purchase which went fairly smoothly, though I couldn't determine exactly what the card alternative to tickets was and how it worked. UP Express gets you from the airport to downtown (and vice versa) quickly and comfortably. The service is quite expensive, however--quite a bit more so than Boston's T, certainly. I might use it again but would prefer a cheaper option. That said, I am sure a taxi would be much more expensive!

From the counter in T1 to the ticket checkers at the train entrance, everyone is just plain rude. The lady at the counter, Donna greets customers with an icy stare and a couldn’t be bothered attitude. It’s as if she hates her job so much. The ticket checkers upstairs are not too far from her. One of the female checkers, with blonde hair, accused me of not tapping and asked me to tap again. I understand if she didn’t hear it but she could’ve said it in a nice way. Metrolinx should hire employees with pleasing personality and not the ones with hostile attitude towards the passengers.

This dedicated train line is fabulous service. It runs regularly. It is a quick journey right into the middle of Toronto. The carriages have areas specifically designed for travellers' luggage. It is easy to buy a ticket and relatively inexpensive. And it is easy to find in the airport terminal. I recently used this service to travel both away from and back to Pearson Airport. If you are staying in or near the centre of Toronto, and are heading to the airport, I would highly recommend the UP Express. Every airport should have a service this easy to use!

Just tried to buy a ticket online, tried two different credit cards, the system does not allow to complete the order and asking for yet another card. The conversation with the customer rep did not reveal any problem, so I will have to stay in line to buy a ticket. Wasted abut half an hour without accomplishing anything. Very discouraging for a new service.BTW, the form asks my postal code as required field, I understand that they want have it for their business purposes, but for customers it is another line to enter and an intrusion to our privacy.

Just such a fantastic way to get into central Toronto. This has been such a great addition to the city and makes getting to the airport much more affordable. Was impressed with the free wifi, lots of plugs and the general cleanliness of the place. the only fault is it can be a bit cramped as it is probably one car short of what it would need to be comfortable. Otherwise, just a great way to get into the heart of Toronto from the airport in a snappy 30 minutes.

Upon arrival at Pearson I was told that all trains have been suspended. Woman working for UP advised that I'd need to take a bus from Pearson to Union, and proceeded to give me nonsensical directions. After spending several minutes walking around the airport unnecessarily, and pestering anyone who would listen with questions about where to find the bus, I finally located it. Not the experience a person wants after a long day of travelling to get home.

When are the powers to be going to realize that covid is over and it's time to get back to the norm obviously you have never tried to pick up a arrival or you would realize how hard it is to connect with a loved one the cell phone parks help but are not easy to get to the signage is very poor I'm aware that you a very difficult job to do but opening up access from the garage to the terminal would help a lot thanks for taking the time to read my post

Trains are clean and convenient but be aware that departure times are rough estimations. When I got there with 2 minutes to spare before scheduled departure (as per UP website) I asked the station attendant if the train had already left and she smugly smiled, said yes and walked away. Common courtesy would be to also mention that the next train was in 14 minutes, instead of a smug yes and walking away, but clearly that was too difficult for her.

Great service, fast, reliable and clean. Been using it for almost 8 years now and it’s gotten better at being on time. My biggest complaint is the lack of an app for your phone. They had one and removed it…it’s 2023 how do you not have an app u less there was a data breach or something. It’s incredibly inconvenient to go through the website. It is so convenient and fastest way to get to downtown Toronto from Toronto Pearson International Airport without hassle. Inside of the train has ample space for a lot of luggages for people to carry. There are only a few stops along the way from the airport to Union Station on Front street in the city of Toronto. So, it does not take much time between the airport and downtown Toronto.

Modern train, reasonable price, good wifi, power outlets and comfortable seats. It can be busy at times so standing room only. Lack of baggage space for an Airport Express. You a Prwsto Card for a cheaper fare. You can tap on and tap off at a blue card reader at both ends. Good disabled access with helpful staff. Journey is done in 25 minutes compared to up to an hour at rush hour.

I was ripped off. The schedule stops all trains to Toronto after roughly 10:30PM but they still were happy to steal my money when I was in the airport terminal trying to buy a ticket at night (no, I can't use it the next day it expired within an hour as it says on the ticket). No excuses, metrolinx knows what time their trains run and they program their ticket machines.

UP Express is the best way to get from the airport to downtown. The train is extremely clean and comfortable with free wifi and power for your devices. I bought my ticket online and the conductor was able to scan my phone. The station was a little hard to find at the airport though since it was my first time there.

The best, fastest and most convenient way of commuting to downtown from the airport. Too bad that the navigation towards the trains is so confusing. I am sure more people would be using the train if the navigation from the arrivals would be more clear and not promoting the cabs. Bonus is a free wifi in the train.

We were traveling from Vancouver Island and took the UP Express for the first time. We thought we would miss our stop which was the Bloor stop, but there was no announcements at all of the approaching stations. Not a big deal, because there is only 4 stops, but if you are not aware of that, you will be stressed!

This is a no brained to go to downtown! Exiting from Terminal 1, in 25 minutes you arrive right bellow CN Tower, on Union Station. The train is perfect, it is equipped with power outlets, plenty of space for the legs and luggages on a huge space. The price with the Presto Card is just $9 with taxes.

We opted to use this as it only takes 30 minutes or so to get from Pearson to Union. It was mainly due to the fact, we had a long flight which arrived late PM and just wanted to get from A-B with minimal fuss. Ticket prices are $12 single, so not as cost effective as the Airport rocket route.

I’ve taken the UP express from Union to the Airport. Really impressive service with comfortable seating. There is even wifi on the train. The speed is a bit slow but nevertheless still pretty impressive. The trip is quick lasting about 25 minutes from Union to Terminal 1.

This train is super clean and very well maintained. Very affordable as well. 2 round-trip tickets from the airport to downtown Toronto costs only $24 US. Personnel are helpful and very friendly. An excellent alternative to the more expensive taxis in the area.

Reasonably easy to find the train station when in Terminal 1. CAD 12.35 is a great price for the ride to Union Station. Clean, adequate train cars, wi-fi onboard, but nothing fancy. The arrival at Union Station is another matter. I'll probably try it again.

My first time using the Pearson Express yesterday. I was impressed by the quick, smooth ride downtown, though for students like myself, the old route.. 900 Airport Express to Kipling Station (and the #2 Bloor Line eastwards) is only a fraction of the cost.

This is the train that gets u very quick into the downtown toronto. It is comfortable and it has free wifi and outlets to charge your phone. To save money take the train to Bloor station and change to the TTC subway line 2.

You get from Terminal 1 to downtown core for 12 $ instead of 55 $ by cab. It's a great and cheap alternative if you can carry all your luggage by yourself.
