First of all I am not sure how this restaurant has such a high rating! The food hygiene rating is a 3! My experience after ordering from here is the food was sooo disappointing. The oxtail I was almost scared to eat it just did not taste right. The macorroni and cheese one of the polyestiren box had a hole in it! The macorronni didn't even taste like what it's called! I couldn't even eat it or my kids. The rice n peas was about the only decent thing. After searching hours to find a good Carribbean restaurant and waiting so long to eat! I can truly say it was a waste of time and food!

Not a happy experience. I just sent my daughter to buy a small meal with £20 and she only came back with £1.60, I sat and waited in the car, I then went out to ask the rasta man where is the change he replied and said sorry I should of given her the remaining £10. I was so angry I told him off and said how out of order he is in robbing a child after supporting his shop all these years, all he could say was I should of given her and I'm sorry. Watch out people he a "thief" he robs from children, good thing I was there waiting in the car.!!!

I bought steam fish with rice and peas from this takeaway after hearing the positive reviews. The rice was ok but the steam fish wasn't freshly prepared. The okra was tough and so was the plantain. They gave me a huge portion maybe because they couldn't wait to get rid of their stale food. I don't understand why they're getting such positive reviews. Cook fresh food everyday because we're paying customers. Not good enough.

I went with very high expectations, having seen a lot of people call it the best carribean in London. I eat a lot of carribean and while the portions are monstrously huge and include all the side you could want, have to say it was relatively average. The oxtail wasn't as soft as it should be, the jerk chicken was a little bland and i found bits of plastic in it, and the curry goat was nothing to write home about. UPDATE: having been again, I may have initially been on an off day. The jerk was much better 2nd time

Serious cook shop. I don't understand when people expect it would b a restaurant service. Relax yourselves, wait for fresh chicken from the fire and choose a side. Oh, and don't forget a Guinness punch I know people coming from other areas to this shop and there are many, so... I have one portion of everything for decent price and it can fill two people easy. And what a man there! Such a lovely guy! Friday nights there's special atmosphere

Great little spot for lunch, I go here often on my lunch break, service is pretty quick and staff isn’t constantly talking and delaying the service unlike too sweet around the corner. My only complaint is the plantain is never cooked! It’s always undercooked and raw in some areas which is a shame and the reason for only 4 stars

My dad owns this restaurant and I am very proud of what he's made of it. A good variety of Caribbean food such as Fried Brim Fish and Jerk Chicken. Meals are always served with rice but can be bought without. The most popular meal has to be the Jerk Chicken!! This place becomes very popular during the Chatsworth Road Festival every year! Which is always something to look forward to! ☺

Can't resist a trip here for proper soul food when visit family. In fact it's an incentive to battle the traffic of East London all the way from the Essex Sunshine Coast just to grab a bite of great food! The pineapple punch is sooo good too!

Food was superb. I had the curry goat. Huge portion and melt in your mouth. My mate had the jerk chicken. Just the right amount of kick to it. Delicious. Will definitely be visiting again when I'm in that neck of the woods.

We had a Jerk Chicken and I need to say that it was the best that I have ever tried . The portions are so generous, that one portion can feed two or three people will a smaller appetite. Festivals? To die for! And the Gentleman working there, such a pure heart. Thank you!

Usually only buy jerk chicken decided to try the fried chicken and fish neither were freshly cooked on the day nor the day before. If you know good authentic fresh jamaican food this is definitely not the one. Also uses lots of tropical sun seasonings which are not authentic jamaican seasonings.

The best jerk chicken ive ever had the rice and pea is nice aswell asthe vegtebles.this is my favourite take away meal everytime i pass by the chatsworth road i have to get me some even if its for lunch. I dont tel the wife as she gets jealous lol Portion sizes are generous and the meals are good value for money nice and filling.

Leonard is not only one of the nices people around, but his food is the best Jamaican food I've had, the jerk chicken tastes incredible and all the sides made to perfection. Leonard kindly indulges me with my extra spice and extra sauce! I always ask for extra plantain and a dumpling because I can't help myself …

Ordered the dumplings, patties, ackee & saltfish and jerk chicken w/ rice and peas. Everything was delicious! Portion sizes were larger than expected and the overall price was great value for money. Will definitely be ordering from these guys again and recommend to anyone in the local Clapton area (any beyond!)

Had the jerk chicken which comes with rice, cabbage, greens and plantains. It was a really big portion and all the bits were sooo yummy. Great price in relation to quality and amount of food. The lady that prepared it was also super sweet. Would certainly go back.

I have passed this shop for years, but never again! The sweet, sweet smell of the smoking jerk outside today was tooooooo much!! Today my belly smilled and my taste buds danced!! What a beautiful place, filled with great customer service and wonderful food!!

Very good food. The Jerk chicken was tender and tasty, properly barbecued The box meal included calaloo, steam veggie and rice and peas. All fresh and flavoursome. Will be joining the queue again for a Sunday. Qnd they had bottle Soursop which isn't bad.

Best jerk in London! So generous with portions and jerk comes with callaloo, veg and plantain. Mac and cheese always hits the spot. The owners are lovely too - recommend to all

Had the curry goat, greens and rice n peas. People aren't lying when they say decent portion sizes. Bloody delicious. Watch out for the bones in the goat though!
