Wow!!! I was a regular at the one on independence and I loved them . They had great customer service now i come to this one. This lady they call brie was very rude and when asked a question she wouldn't respond she asked a associate assist me and didn't even look or respond to me. Then as I'm walking by looking around for pet food for my dog she gives me a nasty look. And I ask her where my dogs food she then just points and that's it. I got the message and proceeded not ask her anymore questions. Then we went to the front to pick up the stuff we left there because we had too many items. We were waiting for the associate that was on the front register when we asked to leave our items on her register. We were waiting for her to get back and she didn't. Meanwhile the associate at the other register had a customer but I knew she was the backup so I waited at the other register so I didn't get skipped in line. The associate on the other register call brie over to help with a exchange. She tells the lady on the register to just do it. The associate tells her I cant so she finally makes her way to the register to help the associate. She realises there's a customer in the associate's line that she refused to help. She tells the customer knowing that even though he had just gotten in the associate's line. And we had been at the main register way before him. She still decides to help him and i even told her hey we have been waiting since before him. She ignored me and said I will help you after him. I then said I was still here before him. She ignored me and proceeded to help him with what he needed. Then she helped another customer that obviously was not there before me. And then another before I jumped in line again since she kept ignoring me!!! So I gave her no choice but to have to help me checkout. And while she was ringing up my purchase I told her I had a price match. She then proceeded to tell me that she cant do price match when i know for a fact that she can because i have been a bunch of other petsupermarkets before!!! So then she finally allowed the price match. And when I tried to ask her a question she just shrugged me off. By that time I knew this lady hates her job! Oh and another thing I can't help but notice that bryanna was white and the customers she kept ignoring me to attend first were also white. This a huge act of racism, racial biased, and I dont know how things like this happen here. In the independence store this would have never happened!!! Wow just because I'm not white doesnt mean I can or should be skipped in line. Horrible experience!!!! Wow I have nothing to say but wow! If I haven't mentioned her name before it is Bryanna.

I stopped by here for my 5year old son because we were looking to purchase a small pet . We were greeted right away by Christine (worker in training). First thing I noticed , why was this young lady in the front assisting customers with no one else in sight? We were there for a good 10minutes before I saw someone else come up to the front . This is a pretty large pet store for a worker in training to be left to assist multiple customers at once, although Christine handled it well and with a smile . What I didn’t enjoy about this location was finally meeting the assistant manager Kelly and not receiving any customer service at all. She didn’t greet us with a smile , she didn’t address me , she just slowly walked around with her pen and paper watching us like we were a foreign species, maybe my kind didn’t belong in this store ? That how I felt . I finally decided to walk up to Kelly and ask her if that was all the pets they currently had, and with no hesitation at all she said “yes” , nothing more. Just Yes . No, unfortunately yes , but we will be getting more . No , is there something else I can help you with , just yes. I expect this from a regular sales associate but not from management. Now , before you say hey maybe she was busy , no she wasn’t because she happily assisted her other customers that didn’t look like me. The only reason I am giving this location more than one star is because of the sales associate in training . Christine greeted each customer that came in the door and asked each customer if they needed any assistance. Maybe Kelly should be the one in training.

*Edited* I came to this store yesterday afternoon to adopt "Lenny". The staff was not polite at all and stood around glaring at my daughter and I from the time we entered until we left. I glared back, waiting for one of the five associates standing around the registers not doing ANY work to speak. They never did, only whispered among themselves and looking in what seemed to be disapproval. The employee who assisted me was apprehensive and slow about getting "Lenny's" paperwork together before I finally sped her along. She had a very snooty attitude, the employees looked as though they had never seen a black woman, black child, with muddy clothes on a rainy day. We had just come from playing outside. I despise people who think it is socially acceptable to show their opinions, prejudices, pettiness, insecurities, or what have you on the job that they are being paid to perform. Your opinions and hang ups are your business, do not project them. Speak, do not stare, and do not ever think that because a customer enters with brown skin that your level of service can be reduced or that you will subject us to sub-par service whether you all did so consciously or subconsciously. I could give a damn how you feel, just do your job...well. I suggested that the other cat people in my life looking for kitties, search elsewhere since they too....are brown. You have no business treating people according to what you think of them.

Very poor customer service, there’s only one person to help when other employees are standing around talking doing nothing. Me and my husband came to get about 8 koi and gold fish there was one person helping another customer but we were not greeted or helped when my husband called on someone they asked him to wait and so we waited until we were tired of just looking around after a good 17 minutes we decided to leave and we realized that there were other employees just standing and making jokes and laughing away I’m pretty sure this store will go out of business soon if this is how they handle customers, I have many friends that go here to buy pet food and will be happy to share my experience with them. It’s sad to see that they have hired ignorant inexperienced employees to sell their products. Will never go to this place my money is worth spent in a place where the customer is treated and greeted.

I came in to grab some food for our new puppy the other day, and was greeted by a short lady with dark brown/black hair. I’m sorry I can’t remember her name. She was kind enough to greet me even though she was ringing out another person, so many other people would of just ignored me. In the store as I was looking I was helped by Kellie, who was very kind and knowledgeable about food. She helped us choose the right food to fit our budget, that when I went home and looked it up was just as good as she said. She seemed to actually care about what I said I wanted, and how much I could afford and went through many options with me. You just don’t get customer service like that anymore. She even offered free training advise, I will be coming back.

i had just lost my precious ferret whom ive had for 5 years and went looking for a baby to heal my heart. there is a special kind of person who works at this petstore. shes got a huge heart and helped me immensely. Britnie was her name. she helped me with everything i needed. what a wonderful staff they have at this place especially that young woman. i adored her. i am going to be buying more supplies from this location. and to the person that hired that young woman, you chose a good one. edit: just saw she is the store manager. i am not surprised. you’re a wonderful person Britnie your customer service is out of this world. thank-you.

The store itself is ok. Selection is good. The staff is polite. However, I have noticed that Pet Supermarket does not educate the staff about the animals they sell. This is my 3rd time buying animals there. The first 2 times was in Florida and then this time. Each time I had to Google to get details on determining the sex of the animals being purchased and the way to care for them. There was 1 gentleman who tried to assist us with that but I knew it was based on his personal knowledge and not education he received from the company. However, overall it was a pleasant experience and the staff is courteous, patient and polite.

I had my son's dog for a week and needed to get some food. After some play at Freedom Park I really needed to get him cleaned and groomed. The entire staff was very welcoming and accommodating! They took excellent care of Bentley! Ashley did a fantastic job and I felt as if Bentley had come out of a world-class Spa when she was done. Brittany and Kaitlyn were also very friendly and accommodating while we were there and everyone seemed to enjoy having us in the store. I was very nervous bringing my son's 7 month old puppy in but they took excellent care of us ! I highly recommend Pet Supermarket!

Really shouldn't be selling anything living. They house males and females together. Someone I know bought a pair of guineas thinking they were the same gender and when they found out they were opposite genders they tried to return them a week later and they refused to take the animals back. Dozens of dead fish-not like 5 or 6. It wasn't very clean and even though there were about 5 people working no one asked if we needed help. The treat bar was cute though

Pathetic return policy. You have to have a VIP account to get your money back, otherwise they’ll only give you store credit. No one is “authorized” to override the system. Don’t bother calling the customer service line like they suggest in all of their responses to their bad business. You’ll be put on hold and told repeatedly that you are first in line. They basically just stole over $70 from me.

went today bc I never been there & they wouldn't let me in they said they had to shop for me, I ask if I never been here b4 how do I know what I want , I dont even know what yall sell. I really want to look to see what they had different than other stores.it was no other customers in the store and they had the front door locked! they going over board with this virus! I even had a mask on !

I was very disappointed in my first visit to the Pet Supermarket in Lexington SC. The cashier was very friendly. I purchased a bag of wellness puppy dog food with a store sticker of 10% off.. I even mention to the cashier the bag has a sticker of 10% off she said it was because of the expiration date of 5/2015. Look at my receipt when I got home she never gave me the 10% discount.

I purchased a half moon Betta fish from this store and it died within two weeks. I guess the dead fish on display should have been a warning to not purchase from this store. The replacement policy is only good for 7 days. I've purchased other Betta fish from other stores that were healthy and thriving. I would never recommend anyone to this place for animal care.

We went for our dogs 1st birthday to pick out toys and a tasty bone as we always do for our dogs birthdays. He had a good time and loved everyone at the store! It is always nice when staff want to cuddle and pet your dog. Everyone was very friendly and I know he left the store happy and full of treats. We will definitely be back anytime we need a new toy.

I bought a fish on Thursday and on Tuesday night it was dead. Policy requires the fish and a sample of the water for a refund. I returned it with the water and because it had the dead fish in it they said the water was not able to be tested. I completely do not recommend buying fish from this store. Customer service was a crock

Good selection and decent prices on most things. Like that it has more of a local feel versus petsmart or another big chain. Don't buy in to the "Buy 10 bags of food, get one free" promotion. We did this and purchased big bags of food for our dog and the coupon we received was for the smallest 8lb. bag. Not a good deal.

These guys throw out some nice coupon deals if you are on the mailing list. The staff is knowledgeable and always willing to come help. The majority of the staff has been there a while too which helps create a good relationship when they remember my name and such. Nice folks all around. Go give them a shot.

Super helpful and knowledgeable staff was able to help me find the right option for my dogs dietary needs within my budget. If you have a pet with food allergies, this place is a great option! Also, all of the animals for sale in the store looked very well cared for and healthy unlike at other pet stores.

Staff is always nice and helpful! I usually come here every other week to utilize the self-service dog wash stations for our family dog. Oh, and don’t worry about forgetting shampoo/conditioner because they have a few products on deck you can use without an extra charge (washes are about $10 btw)!

They made me leave my Triceratops outside. I told them that this large three ton dinosaur was an herbivore and that there was nothing to worry about. They told me yeah it may only eat plants but those three large horns are absolutely menacing. I told them I understood and just left Dotty outside.

Great pet store — we go for the bathing station. There are three stalls where you can bathe your pet — the store provides shampoo/conditioner options and clean towels. It is so convenient! The team is hire friendly. Our dogs loves to go “shopping” after the bath to pick out a treat, too!

If you're looking for a great place to wash your dog this pet story has the absolute best dog wash station I've ever seen!.... I have a mastiff whose 80 pounds currently at 6 months old his potential weight could exceed 170 pounds this place has the space see you guys soon......!!

Very nice staff and one of the few places that carries our dog's natural food. You can play with the cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits. Reasonable prices and pet adoption fees. Our Great Dane loves coming in and the staff spoils him.

A smallish store, but they've got the best prices in town on what they carry, especially name-brand canned food for my picky cat. Their regular prices are less than sale prices with the "other guys". Staff is helpful, too

I called to see if they carry my brand of dog food. I called several times but always was automatically sent to voicemail. That alone is inconvenient but then you can’t even leave a voicemail because it says it is full.

One of my favorite pet stores in the area. A great selection of dog and cat food, along with treats. The various shampoos they have are pretty impressive also. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Friendly staff. You can hold & pet the small critters (guinea pigs/buns/ferrets/mice) without asking for assistance or permission as long as it's not locked. My lil piggy is friendly & healthy.
