My recent visit to Pet Supermarket was nothing short of excellent! The standout feature of this store was the remarkable staff. I got a puppy from some girl on a Facebook group (irresponsible, I know) for my mom. The girl told me the puppy was seven weeks old. My boyfriend and I went into pet supermarket with the puppy to get new puppy supplies so I could give my mom the puppy with all new stuff, and an employee there noticed what we were doing. She assessed the puppy and let us know the puppy was actually only between four and five weeks old, and she really took the time to educate me on what a puppy that young needs and how to care for it. She spent a long time with us and helped us pick out what we needed, and she even took the puppy to the on-site groomer to get the groomer's opinion on the health and the age of the puppy. The groomer stopped what she was doing and quickly trimmed the puppy's claws at no charge. They really went above and beyond, and they really know their stuff. I'm so grateful for them.

Nice staff but they need to hire a person who actually has fish keeping experience for the aquatics section. Several tanks contained incompatible fish (like african cihlids in the same tank as small tetras). There was a large red devil cichlid in a tank of smaller cichlids and it was picking away at every other fish (cichlids should be of similar size when kept together to avoid this very situation). The tanks were also way too small to be housing the number of fish they contained, even for a commercial business. They cram in the same amount of fish into a 10 gallon that other businesses keep in 20 gallon or larger sized tanks. Overcrowding and aggression stress fish out which all but guarantees an ich infestation. This is mostly a heads up for any beginner fish keepers. You want to get healthy fish and the environment they're kept before you bring them home can make them unhealthy.

I decided to try out this place since I recently moved in the area. The place is clean and welcoming. I paid for the dog wash to bathe my dog. I brought my own shampoo but shampoo, conditioner, and fresh clean warm towels were provided. Climbing the stairs was a little intimidating for my dog but she was able to get up and down with help. There was a leash to keep my dog in place during her bath. The water hose had different settings to choose from. The way to turn on the hose was to slide the button up at the handle, the hose can be turned off by sliding the button down. The water pressure can be adjusted using the same button. The hose was able to take out some of her shedded hair, which was great. I got to use the hair dryer too, I couldn't find a way to adjust the temp for the hair dryer. It was a bit cool but not too cold. Overall my dog Jenna enjoyed the bath.

EDIT: The last few times I've gone they have been better about having someone to check you out. Sometimes they seem understaffed, which I understand happens occasionally. This shop really is nice and the rewards keep me coming back This is a neat shop and their prices and rewards program are amazing.. problem is no one ever mans the front checkout. Usually I can see and grab someone’s attention, but today I waited and waited and didn’t see a single employee anywhere near the front counter. I’ve been in retail a long time and have a lot of understanding for things, but having someone to ring out customers is kinda paramount and a no brainer. It’s really unfortunate because I like the store a lot but usually don’t have 10-15 minutes to wait for someone just to show up.

They are over priced why am I having to ask for shampoos that should be provided already and extra 7 just for shedding shampoo i tried to buy my own and they sold me supplement for dogs food I thought the guy who sold it to me knew what he was talking about so I just bought it I only found out it was wrong because my dog wasn't getting soppy I told him about it he gave me a different one just replaced it i never got to even give my dog a bath I was frustrated because after I gave them the shedding shampoo they offered for 7 extra dollars they didn't give the regular shampoo that was supposed to come with it so now my baby's fur is ruined oily and she hasn't stopped scratching herself im never going to give my dog a bath there again...very angry

Me and my pup love this place! The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive! They have everything you need from the obvious things like food, toys, and accessories to wash stations fully equipped like a carwash for dogs. They have the high priced items some prefer to lower priced items that still dont sacrifice the quality. They have a rewards program that is great too especially for those that like to spoil their pet without breaking the bank.I happen to live close to it but even if I didn't, I would drive the extra distance just to go here as opposed to the more common pet stores. If you already have a favorite store, I would still recommend giving this place a look... you won't be disappointed!

This place is amazing because not only is it well organized and clean, but they have the best staff ever, like Caren (Karen). She is highly knowledgable and empathetic for all fur babies. If it wasn’t for her, my Shadow would not eat even after numerous vet visits. Caren took the time to inform me on all the different dietary products and educated me on the benefits of most treats and food. Caren is so professional, efficient and I’ve witnessed her provide exceptional service to every customer without rushing them. I can’t say enough great things about her. Thank you Caren for all that you do!

Really cool place! I wish I stopped sooner. The guy that works in the evening is very upbeat and makes friendly conversation. You don’t find that everywhere, especially with evening workers so that was a welcome surprise. I only needed crickets but I was also able to snag a cracked 10 gallon tank for a discount since I’m only gonna use it for plants Will probably make this my home store once I have my puppy. In a place where people mainly live in apartments and grooming prices are out of this world, the self-serve dog wash station idea is BRILLIANT!

Love this place! I was looking for a self serve dog wash, and they have an awesome setup, three large tubs, each with a long shower hose with several spray settings; they provide a nice oatmeal shampoo and conditioner and 2 large towels. You only need bring a brush. Each station has a long blow dry hose and table to groom. It’s a nice setup, tubs are cleaned after every wash, staff are friendly and eager to help! The area is well maintained, nice store! Cost is ten dollars and a bonus, they give a free dog treat after every bath! Highly recommended!!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff that went out of their way to share their knowledge of pet feed. Check out was fast and painless without requests of personal info, just a "are you a member" with good conversation. Membership rewards looked to be bountiful so I joined and have not received mass junk mail so I could say so far, this outfit appears to be mindful of their customer's privacy. Great pet store to shop and learn about pets, get good deals, and interact with staff who are friendly and pet owners.

We adopted a little black kitten there about a month and a half ago and she is the joy of our world (next to the cat we already had, of course) and now, the boss of the house. It only cost 85 bucks and she was already spayed, microchipped, in great health and had all her shots. The store employees were very helpful in the process of our adoption and they made sure to answer any and all questions we had. Thank you for helping homeless pets find their forever homes! We love this little kitten so much ❤️

Piper is the reason I go there, first time I went I had just adopted a kitten and needed some stuff for her and she immediately rushed up and started helping us and was being so sweet to our kitty and giving us tips, I just went back to restock up on my kittens food and piper was so lovely and sweet. If I could talk to her all day about animals I would she is so knowledgeable and Is so caring it’s hard finding people who are so genuine like she is. 100000/5 service each time!!!!!

Most everything you can think of for your furry friend. Lots of snacks treats and toy selection. Seems to have the facilities for grooming but haven’t used it since we have a short haired dog. Very clean and orderly. I liked just wondering around and letting him sniff at what he likes. Loved that they carry special treats for birthdays or special occasions. Bought the cutest dog cookie for him for Easter. Not too pricey either, so good for the occasional good boy treats.

Used their self serve dog wash. Hell yeah. They had all the basics and then some. Everything from ample space for two large dogs, fresh towels, a good selection of nice shampoo options, scrubby ribber brushes, and high poweres dryers. Practically heaven. The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable. I sort of just wanted to hang out there and watch all the other dogs get bathed by their owners, too! Such a fun experience.

Legit little store. AND I loved the location of this store. But the prices are kind of ridiculous. I brought my daughter in there to see the bunnys and she got an attitude with me the rest of that night because I refuse to pay $60.00 for a ADULT RABBIT that isn't even cute. And she wanted any rabbit she seen just to have something so yeah I'd say #INVESTinMoreBUNNYS #dropthepriceALITTLE maybe? Sorry not sorry

This is hands down the best pet store I’ve ever been to. Since moving to the Galleria area in Houston, I’ve never gone elsewhere for pet food or supplies. The staff is helpful and friendly, and it’s especially nice to see how well they treat the animals there. They even have a dedicated space in their store to help cats get adopted. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks for everything.

We just had the best experience with Ariana at pet supermarket. And the manager was also very helpful and got me a face mask when I had forgotten mine at home. Ariana helped us find the perfect hamster and get her set up in the most amazing habitat. She really went above and beyond and we will keep coming back here to support our local business. I’ve been coming to this particular store for YEARS and every time I walk in the staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about everything. Between the snake, fish, dogs, and tortoise this store has all the stuff you will ever need. Sydnie in particular is an incredibly helpful and unique person who makes me happy just to see working with animals. Love you guys, 5 stars

Piper is amazing! She needs to be a buyer or something, she is so knowledgeable it’s next level! Everytime I go in she always helps me! Today she helped me find a better dog food for my pups along with probiotics. It’s to the point I just look for her when I come in! She could honestly be a vet with the amount of knowledge she has! Bad customer service. Last time they Tried to over charge me and then argued with me about it. I forgot which store and went back by mistake. One female employee was pleasant and tried to help, but everyone else was more involved with their conversation right in the middle of the store and did not want to move. So I will never inconvenience your staff again.

I have a pet ball python named Tito and I come here to buy my feeder mice for him. They are always quick and they have extremely friendly staff. Besides reptiles they also have everything you’d expect to find a person for cats, dogs, small mammals and reptiles. The store is huge and they have a dog wash station as well that looks super nice.

My daughter was asleep in the car and they went above and beyond to help me; grabbing my items and sending out an employee in the rain to stand by my car while I ran in to pay. All throughout they were kind and respectful and I could not POSSIBLY rate these employees more highly. Will definitely be bringing my business back to this store!

I bring my dogs in here and they are always so welcomed by staff. They are friendly and funny. The prices are great, the animals are looked after and staff actually know what they're doing. The store is always clean and always smells nice when you walk in. Found an animal and a member of staff was so sweet and helped us with advice.

I had just gone to PetSmart for a tooth brush and it was crazy expensive so I was just going to order off Amazon but decided to check this place out. The prices were the same or lower than Amazon. Really great selection, super helpful staff! Also the toys and all the clothes are so cute and priced SO AFFORDABLY. I loved this place.

The prices are steep and the variety is limited. However, you can tell things have been handpicked by quality, not price, making this feel like a pet boutique not a pet store. The self service dog wash is grand. Totally recommend. Bring your own spray chlorine to rinse the stall. Everything else provided. It's pretty great.

Karen, Dave and the others (esp the new young guy) are the best. I just got asked out significantly after close and my dogs are clean af, conditioned and dry. They didn’t pressure me even though I was there after close and they had to clean the dog baths after me. I can’t describe how grateful I am for that!

I phoned them with a question and Karen was very helpful. I then went to the store (my first visit) and was impressed by the selection and cleanliness. The staff there are all very knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. I got the sense that they all really care about you and your pet. I shall return!

We stopped in for some dog food last night. Employees were friendly. We didn't find the food we were looking for, but an associate explained to us why we hadn't been able to find it (aluminum shortage causing packaging issues). He helped us find a substitution for the food. All in all, positive experience.

Self serve dog wash and dry is GREAT. $10 and you can use their shampoo, conditioner, towels and dryers. The elevated washing stations with tiedowns, hot/cold water and selection of nozzle options are nice. There is also a rubber noslip matt for the doggers to stand comfortably on while being bathed.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, always offers coupons as well! Also, a tip for those who want to save more money - you can always find discounted bags of food in the front due to them expiring within 2 months. If you have dogs that eat a ton of food, this will save you SO much money!

The prices are the same (if not better that Petco/PetSmart). The customer service they have here is outstanding! If you have a big dog(s) or just buy lots of food highly recommend signing up for rewards program. I would get like $5 off every 2 bags of Merrick I would buy.

Bright, clean, well-organized, and friendly staff. This was the only store that has had my cat's food in stock, thanks to the supply chain issues. They also had adorable Chanukah-themed treats and toys right at the register. Not close to my house but worth the drive.

I'm a new pet owner and every single one of the people that work at Pet Supermarket has been amazing at recommending all sorts of things for my puppy. I love this place even more because I can give my puppy a bath without having to worry about the mess afterwards.

I love the bathing area for pets. Very convenient since there are dog parks near by. The prices are a tad bit higher than other pet stores, but it's mostly because of the location in the galleria. Customer service is good, helpful people if you are a new shopper.

Said they price matched, went there to get Blue Buffalo dog food and both Pets Smart and Amazon had it for for $48.99 theirs was nearly $10 more. They said they would only honor the list price not the sale price. Won’t be shopping here again to say the least.

Today I went to this store and it was so sad to see most of the fish sick and all the tanks in a really poor condition. Poor fish. Some of them look like they didn't have enough oxygen gasping, The manager and the employee were just talking on the front.

This place was recommended by a friend. They have self dog wash stations inside. I usually go to Petco to use their indoor self was stations but it's not close to home. Glad to find this one to wash my dog inside in an air conditioned building.

A much different selection from pecto and petsmart but that include many holiday special toys and discounts! A wonderful change from the normal pet stores. Also includes a wash for your pet and some specials for that as well.

Best prices on vegan dog food. The rewards is easy to sign up for and way better than the other box pet stores. The employees are always nice as heck. Minus one star because they sell live animals, and that's pretty 1995.
