I am really disappointed first of all that I have to leave a review of one star. Pet Supplies Plus is usually the place I come to to get all of my dogs needs but.... today I had an appointment to get my dog's haircut and yes his hair was a little bit long and tangled and I was told that they couldn't do it. 1st time ever! Every time I've ever had his hair cut his hair has been very long. The groomer suggested I bring him to the vet for a haircut but after going to my vet they even laughed and said it was not impossible for a groomer to do his hair and they told me to find somewhere better otherwise it would cost me anywhere from 40 to $60 to shave him bald basically and it wouldn't look like he had a haircut because vets don't do haircuts. I decided to look up dog groomers near my home and after stopping in two places with him both decided they'd be able to cut his hair. What I recommend to Pet Supplies Plus is to look for groomers that aren't lazy and willing to put in time because either way you're charged extra if your dog's hair is longer. Never again will I ever go to this location and maybe to no other location and from now on I'll order my dog food on chewy. Pet Supply Plus you lost a loyal customer and I took down my other review that I left last year because now I believe you don't deserve it! The photo at the bottom is from Wag Your Tail located on Addison and Oak Park they cut my dogs hair after Pet Supplies Plus said that they couldn't. They just didn't feel like it and didn't want to waste their time. Thank you Wag Your Tail and again never going back to Pet Supplies Plus. So unprofessional! So I just seen the owners reply to my review and I have a few things to reply. First of all I never said my dog was aggressive I have a 20 lb Shih Tzu poodle who loves people I said he's dog aggressive he doesn't like other dogs but has never bit a person ever not even the vet. Also my dog's paws were not irritated you guys should get your records straight because that would be my Staffordshire Terrier who gets her nails cut sometimes and she is delicate with her paws. It is kind of funny how PetSmart and Petco and the groomer wag your tail we're willing to cut his hair and when I called you guys I was informed in the first place that you guys don't have many groomers that's why it took so long to get an appointment. It would have been better off said you didn't have the time to cut my dog's hair and wasted my time by waiting a week after I made the appointment I could have just waited a week to bring him to PetSmart Petco or somewhere else. And yes peanut butters hair was a little Tangled but even I with the grooming set that I bought at PetSmart would be able to get through his hair but I'm not a professional so I wanted him to look nice before the snow would drop. Correct your "facts"

Upon entering I asked if I had to pay to use the self wash before using it as this was my first time I was not sure how this place did business. Petco unleashed let's you wash first then pay. The young kid answered " of course you pay first u can't use our stuff for free". Well then... After reading great reviews I figured I'd give this place a shot, online it even states " everything you need to wash your pet" there was only 3 "clean" towels for use. The only place to use the hair dryer was in the same tub you just washed your dog in, versus a drying station or a table. I had asked a store employee with headphones on if they provided brushes, he scoffed and said "naw you can but one though" and walked away. I can now see why there was no pictures online of this self wash room.. it's kind of not up to par with other places that really do provide everything you need, like an abundance of towels, brushes and a drying table/station.

As long as you're not looking for a pizza or an Italian beef and you're looking for pet related stuff, this place is pretty good. They had a very cute orange tabby there for adoption and we talked for a bit. Well, I did most of the talking. He just looked like he wanted to go home with me or some other very nice person ( I don't mean to imply that I'm very nice, maybe just nice most of the time. I'm sure there are those out there who would say I'm more of a jerk than a nice guy, but those would not be cats ( or dogs ). Anyway, they seem to be a little understaffed at times, but the cats are cool and everyone who works there is pretty helpful. The prices are what they are. They are ok overall. If you want to get a car however, stop on by. I don't remember the orange tabby's name, but it started with a "V". Did I say he was pretty cute? One of his ears has a boo boo on it, but he's a trooper.

It was very late on Sunday night when we realized that we ran out of food for our pet rabbit, we researched all the local stores on Google maps and everything was already closed. We were driving down Harlem Avenue when we someone walking out of that store which was already closed, we pulled into the parking lot and I realized that someone was still inside. I walked up to the door and got the attention of the 2 employees that happened to be there still, I told them about the situation and the girl only asked me how many bunnies we had. She gave me a small amount of food that was enough until the morning, we were blown away by the level of sympathy we got from the 2 employees there. We will definitely be going there from now on. Thanks again for your help!!!

Wide variety of products for all sorts of pets. Very kind and helpful staff! Both of my dogs are rescues, but one was kicked or hit several times with a hard object (vet thinks steel toed boot or baseball bat)before I got him. He was about 2 when I rescued him and I've had him 12 years now. He suffers from terrible arthritis in his back legs now- and the groomers at this location are the ONLY people he will allow to cut his nails. Wont let his vet or even ME do it. And I am so grateful for that! Everyone else who has tried made him scream in pain, despite my warnings ahead of time. I'd give your groomers 10 stars if I could! Thank you!

Took my dog for grooming, months ago- they didn’t clean his ears AT ALL it was for full service I paid for. I removed handful of hair out his ears afterwards, I called to complain at the time which honestly I even forgot about it, called today to schedule appointment I guess I’m banned to make an appointment because I complained! Yes I’ll complain for a service that I PAID for and your groomer did not do it’s full job. I guess this place expects you just to pay and keep your mouth shut and accept whatever service is offered to you! Thank god I had the photos!

Took my stubborn Morkie for a groom here tor the first time . Jessica G was Fantastic! She took extra care and used scissors on his face and paws and thoroughly explained in detail to me the entire process that she went through she was super friendly and I got my dog back looking great! Normally when I take him to the groomer he's super shaky and scared and he was great when I dropped him off with her! I've tried multiple groomers in the past, others had difficulty cutting my dog down. She did an excellent job!

I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! I had a bad experience at pet supplies plus on 2/4/2023 because they canceled my dogs grooming appointment 3 minutes before the appointment time and I lost a day's worth of work and I told the manager Isabella S. Amy and she didn't care at all. Then they said that they will take care of my dog but that I would have to leave him for 5-6 hours after being told that they wouldn't be able to cut his hair. I don't want other customers to have the same bad experience I had.

They’re scaling back on Bil Jac dog treats because their buyer can’t seem to negotiate a lower price from the manufacturer. I would say it has something to do with us just beginning to recover from the pandemic or inflation and the baggage that comes with inflation but there are a number of other dog food/treats sellers online or bricks and mortar that have ample selections of Bil Jac. So it seems Pet Supply Plus won’t have to price match too many items if they slowly do away with Bil Jac.

This store is always so amazing. Me and my husband made the switch immediately from Petco to this store after one visit. Always clean, always stocked, always someone ready to help. The people that work here really care about what they do and you can tell they care about you too. I have never had a bad experience and I can't imagine ever having one with the way this store runs. It truly is a breath of fresh air shopping here and we will be life long customers. Me and my newfies thank you!

Pet Supplies Plus generally has the widest variety of pet food, wet and dry, at the best prices. I'm disappointed to see that they sell rawhide products sourced from China, something that should be avoided. The staff seems to go out of their way to greet you and assist you if help is needed. Like many stores they have a preferred shopper card. Unfortunately each store is apparently independent so you need to register with each individual store, if you shop at ones in different locations.

This is my neighborhood store and I recently purchased the self wash station package for my pup and Amy went above and beyond to help us, answer our questions about the process, and she was so kind and welcoming! She made it such a wonderful experience and our pup loved her too! The rest of the Team was also amazing, everyone is so nice and helpful. It's the same way every time we go. Wonderful store! Thank you Amy and Team! And Kaja gives a special thanks for the cookies and treats :-)

Horrible experience. We were running 10 min late for our puppy grooming service, and called to let the worker know. As I was apologizing for being late, they were giving me attitude on the phone and they hung up on me. I had my mini poodle come in for a full grooming service and got charged for a service that was not done properly. I never asked for them to make my dog completely look bald, the nails were not cut, and did not smell fresh from a wash. This was poor service. Never again.

Store is always clean, animals are well taken care of, and the employees are wonderful. All that is great, but it doesn't matter when they don't have the items I need in stock 70% of the time. They almost never have the bag of animal bedding I need, and yes I always ask if they have any in the back. Inventory manager needs to step up their game. I've been a committed customer to pet supplies plus for years, but it's hard to do so when they rarely have what I need.

Took my dog there for groom, shampoo & the works. Got her back, no clip. They claimed I didn't order it at the appointment. I could have bathed her myself for craps sake. Got the manager and she offered nothing more than a "deer in the headlights" look on her face. No concessions, apologies or discount on the screw-up. What a bunch of fools. Avoid this place, they have no customer support skills whatsoever. Find a real Groomer, not these half-wits.

Just called them, after hitting 5 for the fish info I was reconnected to the main menu! So I hit zero and got an "associate" i asked if there were any feeder fish in stock and got a "nope"! For an answer followed by silence. Nothing about when they'll be getting them, or maybe try here or there, just "nope"! With an aquarium, cat, fish pond, and 4 dogs they just lost a good customer! Anyone asks me about them I'll be telling them "nope'

I had earlier to see if they had my dogs food and they put me on while they looked. Eventually she found and placed it on hold for us to pick up. Once we got there this Pet supplies store has so much stuff in there, I think we spent another hour just looking at the stuff for our dog. The one of their employees helped us out she was great ! I will be making more trips to this store instead of Petco and the other larger markets stores.

Been buying my dog food and toys here for the past 10years now . Now that my dog is a little bit older the vet suggested that I have to change their diet which is a little bit harder because the brand that my vet recommended is what other dog parents also used luckily they have a manager named Noa who is really helpful and always willing to order the brand I need. Location wise Harlem and Foster.

Their delivery option is better than my experience ordering from Chewy (they were also great, but you can't beat local). My order has always come like the next day. One time I ordered cannes cat food and the flavor I wanted was out of stock, so they called me to work it out. I like that. My tip is, their newsletter is actually worth it, they have good promo codes in there.

Support your local store! I ordered delivery for the first time and was amazed how much easier and pleasant it was versus the big online services. Customer service is exceptional. They really stay true to their local store values. I hope they are doing okay during this pandemic. Also, this is the only store in my area where I can get the brand that my dog needs & prefers.

Their staff is amazing. Their layout is so neat and organized and CLEAN I was told petco now sells more of a variety of a certain cat food I buy but meh I enjoy shopping at PS+ and think I'll stick to it because petsmart nor petco (that I know of last I checked) sells Redford's canned cat food and my special needs cat really likes that so it's kind of a necessity for us.

This pet supplies plus is the best, we have been coming here for years. Amy is so considerate and always makes sure to say hello to us and I cannot say enough good things about our experiences coming in. They have really good deals and are always helpful and will take time to help answer your questions or assist you. My dog enjoys coming with me whenever I go!

Terrible store. This cat is being neglected sleeping next to his litter box and Tortured by dogs owners with managers as quiet as a mouse about it . When I said something to the manager about how they are allowing animal abuse to take place I was immediately unwelcome in the store anymore, this store is a disgrace to animal welfare. Do better!

Been here twice within a month. Looking for dog toys but didn't see anything I liked and got a stake to mount in the ground to hold your dog in place - I use it when I bring my dog fishing. The stake was like 15-17$ which is a bit more than what Walmart is charging (7$). Staff is helpful. Only 2 registers which can cause a bit of a wait.

Stay away from this store. Staffed with morons that can't get a groom right. They have the audacity to accuse me of slapping the groomer over a month after the "event". If I assaulted the groomer, why didn't they call the cops? Because they lied. Stay FAR away from this shop of fools. They deserve ZERO stars... Avoid it like the plague!

There always willing to help, I bring my dog (Collin) here for the self wash. I feel better washing him myself than dropping him off somewhere that they just don't care. He's relaxed and so am I. They always do a great job with nail trims no appointment necessary they just have to see your rabies vaccination certificate for the dates.

This store is great! They have a large selection, it's always clean (no weird animal odors), and every employee I've encountered has been friendly and helpful. I also use the groomer and they do such an awesome job. Even when I had a ridiculous special request to leave the hair around my dogs neck so he would look like a little lion.

Check the scale when the cashier weighs your items, I was charged $3.45 for a 2.5” piece of millet. I asked her to make sure the scale was zeroed out..and the actual price was 22 cents. This has happened on 4 separate occasions. Not once did the cashier acknowledge her mistake, but rather that I was being difficult.

Our first time at Pet Supplies for grooming our senior golden. Everyone from when we checked in to when we checked out were just terrific! Cassandra our groomer did a wonderful job! And, mind you, our appt was the last of the day abutting up to closing time on a Friday - and they were still as cheerful as can be : )

This is where I buy the majority of my dog food. I have a Great Dane and I feed him Science Diet Large Breed dog food. It is EXPENSIVE. It is less expensive here than anywhere else that I know of. Also they have coupons you can get in your e-mail if you join their rewards club. Very friendly and helpful employees.

Took my friends hunting dogs there to use their self Dog Washing facilities, it a was perfect setup for his not so well behaved but super lovable canines they have everything you need to spruce up your pup! The staff was attentive and friendly, they even passed out treats when we were done.

I wash my little pit-bull mix at the self wash and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The self wash always has fresh clean towels and the soaps are always well stocked. But, it is the staff that makes this business what it is - thank you! I am so sorry for not being able to name names.

Recently they started stocking a lot of their own brands, which my cats do not like. Went in looking for fresh catnip, iffy stock on that but had It so I'll come for that. But have to go to the internet to order natural variety. And these stores wonder why they are going out of business.

Everyone I come here the staff is so nice and fast. They answer the phone too not like Petco. The groomers are nicer, better and less expensive than Petco too. Wonderful customer service. But the vet group they have on staff were rude and all outside talking while we waited inside.

Chaz, the groomer is very patient. My dog hates nail trims and Chaz kept him distracted, talked to him and basically got him through it with every tactic he could think of. It was very sweet to watch! I highly recommend this nice, young man for your next grooming trip.

I like the dog bath area where you can wash your own pet but do not recommend getting dog food here. We bought a bag once that was full of some kind of larvae. They just don't turn over food as fast as other retailers which allows stuff like that to happen.

The staff here is super friendly and you can get great discounts if you join their customer program. Its easy to find what you need and if you can't there is always someone nearby willing to help. They have an area for self service dog washing and grooming.

I am very upset, while I was for my dog, I saw this lady mistreat this cute and harmless dog, she was pinching him and hurting, When I received my dog I noticed that she was limping And when I got home I noticed that she had two open wounds in her bag paws

Amy was great! She even remembers my dog BY NAME! I forgot my coupon but she was able to get me the discount anyways. Customer service like this is rare these days. Its one of the reasons I return to this store and recommend it to my pet owning friends.

I joined the free rewards membership. I get notifications of sale items and coupons. They are not as big as other pet stores but they carry my dog's food for less and are well stocked. Plus, I save extra with their coupons. Friendly cashiers.

This store has really transformed in the past few years. Customer service could have been a bit better at the register but overall the location looked like it had many supplies including grooming. It was also clean which is always nice.

Great pet store. Knowledgeable staff. You can bring your pet in and get the nails trimmed with a minimum wait. Even discovered they have a vet clinic that comes in and gives shots for a lot cheaper then a normal vet visit.

The place was clean, they had a good variety of food and treats for my pet. Staff was ok. Not overly friendly but not rude and didn't offer to pack my items in my reusable bag. But otherwise I got what I needed for my pet.

This is a nice location with plenty of parking. I only purchase canine related things so I can only speak on that. There's such a variety of food and treats available. Staff is also pretty friendly. I'm always in and out.

Management has cleaned things up. Used to go to this store but changed to another location when things got a little dirty and store just looked neglected. Have been back recently and things have improved greatly.

Each month is Getting more expensive. $80 for a bag of dog food that used to be $49 is too rich. Raw hide bone that weighs about 1-2lb $25 , haha. I may as well buy filet mignon and give it to the animal.

I bought 2 sweet baby goldfish here about 2 months ago. They are still alive and well. This shop also has any supplies I could possibly need for my fish or my cat, and the prices are reasonable.

Been going here since they opened. Have ALWAYS had good customer service. Bought 16 - 40 pound bags of litter today. They got it down off the top shelf and helped me load it into my truck.

Drive a long distance so my two elderly yorkies can be groomed by Amanda. Both my yorkies are sickly. One really needs special care which she receives. Amanda is awesome!
