This review is mostly about the the grooming section because I think it's important if you're planning on taking your dog there. This is the only place I used to go (for food, treats and grooming) when I got my dog 3 years ago. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable and the training classes were excellent. The grooming was also great service. After about a year I started noticing that my JRT would come from grooming in a zombie like state for at least the next 24 hours. She would sleep and sleep and sleep and just seemed so lethargic. One day she didn't even wake up to eat dinner. I asked if they gave her anything and they denied it but I don't believe it. I kept going because she would always seem happy to go and I felt they did a good job. But she kept coming back so listless and sleepy. Then 2 things happened that were the last straw. The first is that they started pushing tips too heavily, in my opinion. It was always awkward because I tipped already but now it was being shoved down my throat. The other thing that happened was that it started seeming impossible to get an appointment. They were always 'booked up' (even though they never looked it). As for the rest of the store, it grew increasingly difficult to get any help form someone who was knowledgeable and actually cared. I took my business to Petco and have been very happy since then.

Earlier in the day we went to a different Pet store to but 2 glow fish. Not long after we got home they unfortunately died. We decided to go to Petsmart this time to buy more fish. Due to the expense, we decided on getting 2 goldfish. It was 6:45pm when we arrived at Petsmart. There was a worker at the aquatics Dept and a hand made sign that said due to short staffed they stop selling fish at 5pm. I kindly asked the man if there was anyway we could purchase just 2 goldfish. He said no. I went to the manager on duty and ask him if there was anyway we could just get 2 small goldfish. This task would literally only take 1 minute, if that, but he said no and they were closing in 15 minutes. I explained to him the situation and again asked and stated it would only take 1 minute. He flat out refused! I will definitely be taking my business to only Petco from now on!!!

Chronically under staffed. I’ve been going to this location several times for over a year due to it being by HEB, but pretty much every time I go in - no matter the time of day - barely anyone is around to help me. On top of that, most other PetsMart locations in the immediate area don’t carry male hamsters so I drove to this one from Webster despite there being a PetsMart IN Webster. I asked for help, was told it would be “a minute”, waited more than ten, couldn’t find anyone to give me an update on it, and gave up and left and went to Petco where I was in and out with a hamster in less than 10 minutes (and on top of that had hamsters available to adopt instead of buy). I think I’m finally giving up on this PetsMart location. It’s very frustrating and I know it’s not necessarily the employee’s faults, but they seem always short people and it’s a problem.

Personally I drive out of my way to have my dog groomed here. I pass up at least 2 different petsmarts locations. I specifically look for places that I feel will treat my dog like they're own at least. So when the groomer I liked stopped working there I was hesitant... Felt a little untrustworthy leaving my dog without that groomer but after picking up my dog from his grooming appointment, Spencer did am unbelievable job. Like ive literally never seen my dogs coat looking that great! Ugh I wish my dog would never get dirty but anyway, she was amazing! Besides the customer service for my bill. She seemed to Care and mean genuinely Care. I plan on specifically booking my dogs next grooming appointment with her. Spencer thank you so much!

This is the best pets store I’ve been to. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Unlike the other Petsmart in the area they actually take the time to help you out with all your needs. The dog trainer AT Is extremely helpful with all my pups needs. I’m taking another class here. Everyone is so helpful and I get a great experience. The store is very clean and they will help you get low prices and help you with food details with your dogs food. I even started buying fish here because they seem very healthy and the tanks are very clean. I adopted my new puppy and they even gave me a half hour free Private training. If you got a new dog this is where you need to come.

I was THAT costumer, about a month ago. I walked in 20 minutes to close. Thankfully, I knew exactly what I needed, and quickly headed to the cat section. An employee was cleaning in the aisle, and they turned and looked at me and along if I needed help finding anything. I thanked him, but I had already found what I needed. The employee that checked me out looked tired, as is normal at the end of the shift, but she was very polite and asked me if if found everything I needed. Just wanted to say thank you for not treating me like a leper for showing up so close to closing time! My cat may hate me a little more, but he's a cat. And at least now he smells like lavender!

I have taken my dog here once for the grooming salon to get a bath and brush/nail trim etc. First time was a great experience! Took her back again for the same service and was very disappointed. When i picked her up she didn’t even smell good, she smelt musty like and she was still damp so they didn’t even blow dry her all the way. Her nails were barely trimmed which i was also disappointed with since her nails were fairly long and was in need of a good trim. Wasn’t expecting the second time around to be this bad since i had a great experience the first time. I will not be bringing her back because it’s a waste of money to not even get the complete service done.

The worse grooming service that I EVER experience in my entire life.i usually take care of my dog but i wanted to Treat him today for a groomin..(professional one...supposed to) a I payed extra for "EXTRA STUFF" Like they called it.. when they supposed to clean my pet ears and brush teeth... (when clean ears supposed to be part of the bath)..payed over $60 my dog ears were nasty exact like before..I do a WAYYY better job home..also still can't explain how a dog get a bath dry ears clean and teeth brush in 15 min...still a mystery to me! Don't even waste your time or money especially if who serve your dog is a short black hair girl...

Had scheduled grooming for my cocker spaniel today and from the very get go horrible service. Lady at the grooming counter didnt even acknowledge me. She went back and called another lady to help me out. Once the second lady was helping me out I told her to keep the cocker skirt and just shave the upper part with blade #7. Two hours later I get called my dog is ready. And come to find out the lady completely shaved my baby 7 all around. It took my husband and I a while to grow his hair out just to have his skirt cut in a matter of two hours. First and last time taking him to this location.

Disappointed once again with the grooming salon. Since we don't go very often and my dog is a rescue "mutt" which doesn't have a "standard" cut, I called the salon after I drove off to make sure they knew how I wanted her trimmed. I asked them NOT to cut her cute, fluffy tail and they said they wouldn't. They didn't before and assured me they had notes on what was done before. Well, when I picked her up it was obvious her tail had been trimmed and her face was cut WAY TOO SHORT, no cute beard! The rest of her coat didn't look even. BAD, BAD JOB@ Sorry I tipped them, won't do THAT again.

This is our go to place for stocking supplies for our doggo Simba! We have been going there since Simba was a little puppy. Their dog training sessions are amazing. We enrolled in their beginner to advanced program and it really helped our dog focus his energy into learning and training. Ethan their trainer is so patient and is so good at his work. Highly recommend. Apart from the trainings, we also love their grooming services. Simba always gets groomed every year before Christmas! Everyone is just so friendly and welcoming. Happy we have one close by!

Took my puppy for a grooming appointment only to be turned away over their 4 month old puppies needing rabies vaccination policy. I’ve worked with dogs for 8 years and own 5. We’re very aware of vaccination schedules. She isn’t officially 4 months old until tomorrow and her vet wouldn’t vaccinate before then (they wanted to wait until 6 months however I really didn’t think that her being barely 4 months would be an issue today). So you can’t make “exceptions” since she can’t get vaccinated until this week anyway? What a waste of my time.

I was looking for Feliway to help catch stray cats. I was also looking for dog cough medicine. Neither one could be found. I had to walk up to the cashier for help. They keep it all locked in a cabinet. They were out of dog medicine. I showed the internet picture of the Feliway that I wanted. I was lucky, I guess. After getting home I realized she sold me the wrong product form which i couldn't use. That will be returned. Not pleased with me visit.

Terrible service the managers do not have any keys to open the display cases Manager Tiffany was no help at all and didn't even leave her office to help me and had her employee talk to me this is twice I've been back and this manager Tiffany still doesn't have any keys that's lack of caring.i told the employee this wasn't good and she gave me a very upset sarcastic look UPDATE. Honestly don’t know if it was that we came a lilttle before they closed but the lady that rang us up was so rude and annoyed and like if you don’t like your job then why do you work there don’t get it but definitely one of the reasons I go to petco more they’re way more nice awesome caring about they’re customers and the puppies really recommend petco more then PetSmart did go to petco because they closed and my baby puppy needed her food

This place has the most horrible customer service, I tried to take my dog there to get a cut, and they’re were very rude and trying to force me to shave my yorkie poo all the way completely down to a zero. I had asked them to politely not cut his tail or ears and they tried to charge more and wanted to shave his tail and ear hair anyway. Just rude customer service and rude people period!! Lost my business for good, MEVER GOING BACK!!!!

Everytime I come to this store the staff really make sure to make your visit special. I prefer this store more than any other. You walk in and they great you and your prey with a smile. They will not hesitate to stop and help you at any time and they make sure you feel welcome while doing so! This store in particular deserves more than 5 stars! I would travel an hour just to come to this one store! They are great!

I really love to get supplies here for my two guinea pigs and leopard gecko, but they many things wrong. About 90% of the care tips these employees give you about the pets they sell are INCORRECT. Please DO NOT buy animals from here or any big chain pet store because they do not provide these animals with the proper care. Do your own research about an animal before adopting it! (youtube or small pet care websites)

This place is hit or miss. None of the employees are wearing face masks which is inconsiderate of customers considering the area has a lot of new covid cases. Had to wait for at least 5 minutes at the register before an employees came to check people out and by then a long line had formed. On the other hand, they discounted something I was buying because the online price did not match the in store price.

As far as prices go, this place is pretty good. Their livestock in the fish department is hit or miss but you can luck out and get some cool corals and fish if you get there at the right time. They run copper in their system so make sure you dont mix the water. I've found some expensive drags here for really cheap also. The dry goods arnt bad either. It's one of the places I make my rounds to.

Zack is a great awsomer groomer.My dogie is very nervous and scared but he loves to go see Zack on a monthly basis.We followed Zack do to his awsome care with our dog.Shorty will not go to any one else.We have had nothing but very professional help at this location.All personal always speaks and ask if their is anything they can help with.You have a great staff and very caring people here.

Tried their grooming today for the first time. Super friendly staff and worked us in within 30 min. Which was great. They seemed super busy. Took 2-1/2 hours - but no problem. The reason not 4 or 5 stars is my dog’s ears were still dirty. Like, maybe, forgot or skipped accidentally. Never had problem like this with other groomer. Don’t think we will be going back here, unfortunately.

Love this store Miranda is a doll. Gave me amazing tips to help with my dogs separation anxiety. I’m glad y’all found someone as useful as she is. The only issue I had with my visit was the lack of other employees. Not sure if it’s because the location, but she was the only person I saw working my visit here. I had to cut our conversation short because 3 other customers needed help.

I bring our little one here very often the employees are friendly and knowledgeable. And the grooming salon has friendly and skilled groomers. They remembered Nebula by name at the 2nd visit. Update: We still bring Nebula here to get groomed. Spencer is wonderful with her and she loves coming to see Spencer. Everyone here is friendly and they truly care about your pet.

Four associates standing around talking to each other while there is a line of 5 people isn't a great idea. Also if you're required to wear a mask walking in, why aren't your employees wearing them? Also keep up with your dead fish. People come in frequently on the weekends to adopt, and you've got 15 plus dead fish in your tanks during business hours...

Placed an online order. Staff was ready to retrieve it when I arrived. They did it quickly and completed my transaction in minutes. The store was spacious and clean. The aisles we're much better organized than other PetSmart locations I've been to before. This location is a little out of the way for me but I would drive the extra time for this store.

Clean, close by, and friendly service. I go here to get my dog's food, treats, and sweaters. There are quite a variety of food to choose from whether you are buying for your cat, dog, parrot, or snake. They now also have a cat adoption center with some of the cutest cats I have ever seen, so if you are looking visit your local PetSmart!

We took our YorkiePoo here to be groomed yesterday. Upon picking him up, his hair was cut uneven and the groomer informed us she accidentally clipped one of his nails too short, causing it to bleed. She left this detail out until AFTER we paid. He is now limping and appears to be in pain. Do your pet a favor and take them elsewhere.

I'm super disappointed with the grooming service , I was told that I had literally drug my female pup to get her hair cut , so I took her to the vet and get her pill just to get it done for the employee to refuse to cut because she was under sedation , I was only doing what they advised and they refused to groom her .

Went here because no other petsmarts (or petcos) in the area had green tree frogs in stock. I didn't get his name, but the reptile specialist was super nice and helpful with purchasing my frog. The store itself was super clean and looked amazing, I would definitely go out of my way to come here again!

There was a huge storm and I ran into the store, soaking wet- I realized that I came in without a mask and it is required. The cashier got an extra mask for me instead of making me leave in the rain. I have given Petsmarts grooming more than one chance. However, for the price, the quality of grooming is sub-par. They left long hairs, her ears are uneven and still unclean. I went back to ask them to fix her ears and they tried. ...I will not be returning. For $87 my puppy should look brand new.

Wow! That is a big deal for me to say about anywhere. Went in this store for the 1st time in over a yr. I was looking for a specialty food item. The clerk was extremely knowledgeable and I was blown away by the significant amount and variety they had. I am making this my go to store, once again!

I find the people here quite versed in animal needs including reptiles. The wait time for crickets for those of us who have lizards is every Tuesday as I was told. Polite and courteous people work there so seeking anything is not a hassle. Only wish they had scorpions and or taurantulas.

Grooming took almost twice the usual time (instead of 2 hours, it took 4). However, my dog looked AMAZING when I picked her up. Not enough clothing, everything was Halloween, but found a really cute new collar. Staff was extremely polite, and professional.

The groomers here are the best! Very friendly and caring towards the dogs, no matter the dog’s temperament. They know all the dogs by name and treat them like their own. They were so nice to my girlfriend’s springer spaniel that we always go to them.

I used to take my dog to bay area location but this store is a game changer. I love the salon service and the Trainer is amazing. They help out with all my needs. This is the cleanest petsmart I've been to and great selection of dog food.

Megan has been my dog's groomer for years. She is a great groomer. She looks for signs of potential health issues and informs me of growths that are getting larger or even joint pains. She is very caring and loving towards my dog.

This store is new and animal rescue friendly! There are cats available for adoption all the time and dogs there on some Saturdays from Friends of League City animal shelter. Adopt don't buy while homeless pets die!

I go over to this petsmart 4 times a week to just walk around and everyone is super nice. My kids have named 6 hamsters and 2 Guinea pigs. This snake though is so pretty. It is still there and ready for adoption.

They dont even want to groom a malamute ater telling them i have given my dog a prescribed medication for him being hyper to calm him down. They say its so called policy which they never show the policy.
