Today (6/12/2021) at approximate 10:30am time of check in. This was at Jamisontown Petbarn I walked in asking for ‘critical care’ for a rabbit. My vet had directed me to Petbarn. The lady serving me was not sympathetic of my situation, I did come in the store in tears, and she was actually a bit rude. She said “we don’t supply critical care but I have Oxbow and it’s the exact same thing.” I asked her if she was sure three times, and she said “I promise.” She even mentioned a formula that was “fantastic” so I purchased that aswell. I shot down to the vet clinic (as my rabbit is in a life threatening condition,) and the high vet told me they are the wrong products. A waste of my money and time in such a critical situation. If she is not licensed to say so, she should not be giving advise like a medical professional, she had blonde hair I didn’t catch her name. I am beyond upset, I will never be shopping here again. Poor, poor customer service.

Purchased some fish with my young son for his birthday. The male staff member who assisted us was very friendly and had very good sales skills addressing our enquiries and adding suggestions with understandable explanations. He was very pleasant to deal with which made our shopping experience there really good and therefore much more likely to return for future products or to add more fish. My son, on his suggestion, purchased 3 balancing granite stones (with cave entrances) for our aquarium saying that his tetras loved them also. I wasn't entirely sure whether it was just a sales pitch or true... 2 days in and the cleaner fish and guppies have all been in and out of them with one cleaner fish loving the bottom stone in particular. Other staff members seemed genuinely happy and enjoying their work and customer interactions in general which is a good sign in my books.

Prices seem to be going thru the roof here. They don't sell big bags off dog food, forcing you to buy the small bag at an extremely inflated price. Royal canin pug food 3 kg bag for 57.99 dollars. At other retailers, you get an 8kg bag for 79.99. I know what I'll be buying from now on. Even with the loyalty program, it doesn't come close to the same value. And they say you can price match, but maybe that's why they won't sell bigger bags?. Petbarn is one of the largest most well established pet suppliers in Australia. They shouldn't need to play these games with their prices they easily, have the network, and buying power to bring us better prices, shorely greencross profits, enough without gouging it's customers. Very sad. I've been shopping here for more than ten years and slowly the value has left the party. now it's time to do the same.

I am not happy with the grooming service at all. I have recently taken my dog to get groomed. When I picked him up his behaviour had changed, he would shy away from my hand when I pet him, cry in his sleep and not eat his food. This is NOT the way my dog behaves. This was the first time ever he behaved like this. The staff are aggressive towards the animals. When I was waiting to pick my dog up I saw a staff member aggressively handling a dog and this made me extremely uncomfortable. I would NOT recommend this place at all. They have no compassion towards the animals in their care. This is disgusting, heartless and revolting behaviour and attitude from staff. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!!

Second time that my dog’s hair was shaved without asking us if it’s okay. Gave specific instructions on not shaving him and just needs a trim. Reiterated it to the groomer because they shaved my dog before without letting us know. Let it pass then because we need to give them a chance to redeem themselves. But it’s happened again. Don’t take your dog for grooming if you just need a trim - they will shave your dogs hair. Groomer even admitted that there are special tools to remove matts and they don’t have it. Should have waited to take him to my friends recommended groomer instead. I read previous reviews and yes I agree they just decide themselves.

Thank you so much to the man I talked to around 1pm yesterday.Iam going to be going through an area power outage in the next couple days he gave me great advice on how to warm my tanks for my tropical freshwater fish without a heater in my tanks. I already have battery operated filters and told me his own experiences with his own fish how he kept them to the right temperature.Great work ethic and I would be happy to shop here or if you need any advice on you're pets talk to the staff at this store.Just updating my review my fish did well and got through the power outage Thanks so much.☺

My daughter spent a lot of time researching the needs of hermit crabs and when we arrived to buy what we needed, we were instantly greeted by a lovely staff member who walked us through the specifics. He was polite and helpful. By the time we left, my 9 year old was the proud new owner of three beautiful new hermit crabs and only the necessities to care for them. The advice she received was accurate and we even had after set-up help when we came back the next day with more questions. All in all, he was patient and genuinely happy to help. Thank you!

OMG I walked into the store Thursday 12 of July 2019 T say 1.20pm and all the front staff were all so helpful, happy and treated myself and dog ( Miss Molly) so well, my dog was on a high when she walked out of the store, The one lady took the time to make sure that the dog coat fitted well, gave my dog a pig to try for next time, They were all so welcoming and full of information. Thank you , PS miss molly loved the pig ear, so we will be coming to buy more thank you!

A quick visit to purchase some better quality puppy food. After visiting a few stores recently this was by far the best pet store I have come across. The staff member was fantastic and offered me a puppy starter pack with great information. The food purchased was on multi item discount which brought the overall cost down to equal a competitive price. I was also able to join the free loyalty programme for discounts on future purchases

If you are thinking about getting your cat groomed here - DON'T. The manager obviously doesn't listen to what customers want. When I rang she said I'm so sorry about that, it must've been a miscommunication... gee, do you think? We asked for a shaved tummy and butt area - NOT a lion cut and it's exactly what we got - a lion cut - our ragdolls beautiful coat is gone. All that expensive pedigree food from Petbarn for a coat that was shaved off!!! Useless!

Chloe from Mulgoa Rd Penrith store today went above and beyond in her customer service. Our dog passed away yesterday and she was so sympathetic and lovely. She talked to my daughter while she was patting a kitten, it was the first time my daughter had smiled in 24 hours. She even rang the other store to put on hold an item we wanted. Chloe really was amazing today and I would love management to know what an asset she is for your store

The guys at this store are amazing! They are so anxious to help. Several weeks ago, I asked one young lady about litter for our cats. She recommended a brand that was a little pricey but she said it really helped with the smell. We bought it and love it! It's well worth the price. We do click & collect a lot. It saves so much time and they have it ready pretty quickly after we order it online. Check it out. This is a great pet store!

Pet barn groomed my 2 dogs today and did an incredible job. One of them is a Newfoundland and was in great need of grooming with LOTS of dead hair. The staff at pet barn were amazing and she looks beautiful and they handled her very gently and professionally. Highly recommend the grooming service, I am so happy with the job they have done and the caring and professional way they handled my very large and nervous dog. Thank you!

Thank you to the Penrith Pet Barn Grooming team. I dropped off my two beloved Lahsa Apso's yesterday who were in quite a need to be trimmed. The grooming team where exceptionally helpful & friendly & most importantly they looked after my dogs, they pampered them. All I can say is if you ever need your loved pet to be trimmed & looked after, I can highly recommend them

The store is well located with plenty of parking just outside the door. They have a good selection of varied stock items and it is laid out in an easy-to-find way. They lost a star because I was standing at the empty checkouts for quite a while before I got served, even though I was seen by staff. Overall, they had what I wanted and I would recommend the store.

This is my local pet barn, we’ve been coming here for years. On Saturday we got our dog’s nail trimmed. The lady with the red hair always cuts my little furr brother’s nails and she’s always done it very well (quick and efficient). Every staff is always lovely and helpful. Super chill vibes, the doggos can relate that’s why they love coming here.

Always doing shopping for my puppy from this shop. Last booked for grooming and cleaning for my puppy. They just gave him a bath. Nothing else when I ask them they I am lying that I ask for grooming. So customer is a liar and staff always right. Never going back to them again. Really disappointed. Totally wasted money..... …

The most efficient online pet food shopping I ever had. I ordered on a Saturday afternoon with same day delivery and received my order less than 1 hour later. Great communication by email, I knew what was going on with my order and where it was all the way. Big thank you to Penrith Petbarn team. You guys rock !

Friendly staff lots of variety but very expensive prices happened to find the same product on there own website for half the price then I get told by the staff that there online prices if different then instore, they did price match but if I didn't look I would have paid double .

Our dog Tigger always enjoys our visits to Penrith Petbarn. The shop is large and spacious and very exciting for dogs and their owners. Lots to see and choose for lots of pets including birds and cats and fish left at home. Lots of toys bedding and special food and treats.

Lovely young staff who know the meaning of customer service. I was buying on behalf of my daughter. They looked her up on the system, found the details of her previous purchase and fetched the item for me. Gold! Easily accessible, plenty of parking. Good opening hours.

Went in to look at cats and fish as my little granddaughter loves it there. Been there many times with my little old dog for a nail trim. Always happy with how we are treated. Friendly staff, clean and a good experience. Just wish they have black cats to adopt...

Love this petbarn they are always so welcoming and friendly very helpful and the groomers are fantastic my mini dachshund isn't the easiest to get her nails done they were so understanding and did them so fast and carefully she barely had time to panic

Great range of stock for my dog including toys, leads/harnesses and fresh/dry food. The DIY Dogwash has warm water which is a blessing during winter. The staff are always friendly to my dog and I. Thank you to the staff at Petbarn Jamisontown.

They will price match online when you buy one item but If you want to buy two or more, sorry... we can't price match any more than one item at a time! And brick and mortar retail stores wonder why they are going out of business...

Poor Click and Collect service, poor customer service. Will never shop there again nor recommend to anyone. I have shopped at at another Petbarn and they are wonderful but I had an unpleasant time in my first visit to this store.

I just wanted to thank Matt for his help with our staffie rescue, Nacho. He's really great with her, gives pretty fantastic suggestions in general with equipment, toys, food and now even with her obedience training.

I found this store spotless a completely tidy. The staff are highly customer focused, they are knowledgable and really can't do enough for you. Thank you my husband and I will certainly shop in your store again.

Very easy parking and good prices. Most of the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Went monthly for 6 months without being offered the frequent feeder price though, make sure you ask for that!

Wanted my Cavi's nails trimmed. Asked one of the staff who did him straight away. Friendly and efficient. Big plus for me was the interaction with my Cavi, friendly, playful but respectful.

Went to Coreen Avenue Petbarn when they sold my partner the wrong fish. We went to Petbarn Penrith and Chloe helped us out so much was able to fix the situation. She was a very good help!!

Took the dog in for a bath. Facilities were nice and clean, staff were awesome. Towels would be a great addition to the washing area especially with big dogs.

2 different sized bowls for skating etc next to a playground. Toilet at the past and access to water. Limited shade on the park and skating bowl however.

Pet food at inflated prices. Same quality products can be found at significantly lower prices from at least one local retailer and many online store.

The staff here are very helpful and informative. We needed to get a full all round wormer and flea treatment, they were really helpful with this.

Staff was very helpful. There wasn't as much variety for things such as leashes for larger dogs but still had a good range for a smaller store
