I’m so disappointed with the lack of patience and knowledge that was presented to my wife & myself. We decided to bring our younger boy in for his due vaccinations and had an okay/ alright first experience..other than the “Dr.” Annellie. Two weeks pass now and then we encountered her for a second time and I actually wished we wouldn’t have gotten our services with them…With so many things already going on because your pets are surrounded by a vast majority of other pets also nervous, you would think the bedside manner would be appropriate to compensate. Absolutely not! I’m not sure where they find these nothing short of unqualified vet techs/ veterinarians but it was unbelievably disappointing to hear the comment come from the doctor “well you shouldn’t have brought him here today then!” When trying to ask a simple question about how come my dog might be coughing a little? Could it be seasonal allergies?! All for her to jump down our throats and comment even more saying “well did he have his bortatella vaccine yet?” When she was supposed to be administering the SECOND dose of the LEPTO that day of the two- part shot that was done two weeks prior and we even set up the second appointment the day we had the first vaccination done!! It’s upsetting to see that we couldn’t trust the doctor herself because of all the conclusions that she had been throwing at us and to top it all off, we didn’t even get notified by the staff that they had written our dogs gums and dental health were so called “abnormal”. It was just casually listed on the paper of the visit summary to, I guess, just be revealed to us post visit. I laugh even typing this- not due to the fact that their unprofessional manners provoked my blood to boil but the fact that they made us feel as though we weren’t seen and we were just there to have fun? We were there to have a vaccine provided to our dog and you made us feel like we shouldn’t have been there. Please bring a new doctor in. This one SUCKS!

Today, I brought my 9 month old brindle German Shepherd Pit into Petco to get his nails trimmed. It was our first time there and we were immediately greeted by a young lady named Carmella who was standing behind the desk. She had a smile on her face and was very warm and welcoming. I was there to only get his nails trimmed and ending up getting him the whole entire spa package. She told me that it would take her about 2 and a half hours to get everything done and that she would call me when he was ready to be picked up. After handing him over to her it was about 10:30. At 11:30, she called me and told me he was ready to be picked up. Not only was she so upbeat and friendly to me over the phone, but she raved about how well behaved he was and gave me all the details right then and there. I didn't even have to ask how he did. She just offered the information up. It truly felt as though she loved him as much as I do. You could hear the passion she had for the job she does in her voice.....which seems so hard to come by nowadays. It seemed as though she wasn't there for just a paycheck but their to care for other people's animals. She just made my whole entire day. I went to pick him up and she brought him out looking better than I've ever seen! I could smell how clean he was from 10 feet away. I've never met a company who does such a great job at grooming a dog. I could not be more pleased!!! I will be back because of the great customer service, quick turn around rate, how well they treated my baby boy. Thank you Petco! You have earned a loyal customer. We will be back soon!!

Management and employee training needs improvement. I brought in my 8 week old rescue pup to get her some treats and socialization in a store setting. I was on my way to the register with the treats and a couple wanted to say Hi to her. They also had a German Shepherd pup who they said 7 months, which they held back, until I saw the dog was calm and I said “its okay if they’d like to meet.” I have been dog training for 4 years. Yes dogs on leashes CAN be more reactive, but not all are. And we should train our dogs to be able to socialize like that regardless FOR SAFETY. For us to be actually yelled at, and told something along the lines of “ We do not allow dogs to meet in our store, My manager told me to stop people” It was extremely rude and disrespectful. Both dogs were calm. The only who was freaking out was the cashier. Her name is Annie or something. Regardless she needs to be trained how to to properly address customers. Beyond disappointed in the lack of basic respect for others. Absolutely no where on your website or store front does it state animals cannot socialize or meet. Aurora, my dog, is training for service. I’m getting her desensitized to other dogs and people. I work at a dog kennel. It smells worse in this store than our kennel ever smells. And we have over 30 dogs everyday. Somewhat clean store. Will not be back. And my friends and family will be aware of the lack of respect of this store. Which is disappointing because the other employees were actually quite kind. Retrain your employees. Have a wonderful day.

DO NOT BUY ANY FISH! THEY ARE ALL DISEASED AND PARASITE INFESTED AND WILL KILL YOUR AQUARIUM. I maintain several salt water aquariums and spend a great deal of money keeping my marine life happy and healthy. In May of 2022, I purchased what they referred to as a bi-colored angelfish which they retailed for $49.95. Once I got this fish home and settled, I noticed the white speckles forming all over his body indicating the parasite known as ICH. When I called them to inquire on exchange/refunds, the female manager of the aquatic department quickly got on the phone and stated that they made no guarantees on salt water fish. (This disclaimer is not posted anywhere in the store nor was it listed on the reverse side of the receipt). I spoke with a friend at a different location and she also indicated that you should never purchase any fish (fresh/saltwater) from petco because all of their tanks are poorly maintained and rarely treated for parasites. She also stated that they do conduct exchanges within 14 days but that employees are encouraged to mislead the customer into believing that there are no returns. Furthermore, I purchased 10 fish and crabs from a different store and I actually successfully returned them for cash value with no issues making this managers claims on refunds/exchanges a flat out lie. Moral of the story, do not buy their fish unless you want to kill your other tank mates.

The WORST experience ever!!! I’ve never left bad reviews for anybody. Each time I gave Petco another chance, but this is too much! The service they provide is terrible. The staff is very impolite and unprofessional, constant calls and no solutions to problems. I had a membership. I did vaccinations for my puppy in Vetco, grooming. But every time it was with problems. Every time you schedule an apoitment online, they call 5 hours before it and say either reschedule the apoitment or cancel because they are AFRAID that they won't have enough time for my dog’s appointment. (??) Why do you actually let me schedule one then? Plus she said i’m new cx and it’s gonna be my first time and we have to check all puppy’s vaccination. Those vaccines that I did in Vetco ‍♀️ When I said I wanted to cancel my membership, the woman on the phone was saying about all the benefits for me for like 10min, that I would save $100 a year if I stayed with them. When I said that I definitely don’t want to work with them ever again, she said that she could cancel my subscription only after 9 months, she needs to start the process. (??) Now I will pay 9 months more for it. I will never return to this company again! And I will never recommend them to anyone. It's better to pay more than deal with this business!!

Went to purchase a litter box. Go the one I needed and went to the register to pay. The cashier said the item was $30dollars. I explained it said $18.99. She asked me to take a picture of the price and bring it to her so she could price match it. When I got back to the register she said the price was wrong and would call her manager to fix it.15 minutes later her manager appeared (after call her 3x through the intercom) and says “what’s the problem” I explained what the young lady at the register had said. She said she wouldn’t honor it because things are out in the wrong place all the time. I told her to go and I would just buy my things with the cashier. She so “No sweetheart I am staying right here” I told her she was being rude. She said she is not rude and I can go and never come back to the store. I said who is the store manager? She said “it’s me and don’t come back.” I will not go to that store again and advise other to stay away if you are in a hurry and need to grab something quick. I rather go to a store that mark their items correctly and will not be supporting this store.

My goldendoodle Beaux has been training with Erin for the past 5 weeks and has already learned SO much! He absolutely loves her and it’s something I look forward to each week. Before training, he pulled me so hard when walking, never came when called, could not lie down on command, and jumped on people when they walked in the door. It’s crazy what Erin has taught both my dog and me in just over the span of a month. He does not pull the way he used to, comes every time I say “come,” even when he accidentally runs out the front door, lays down just by me pointing to the ground, and does not jump on people when they come in anymore. Beaux was always a good dog, but now he’s a great one thanks to Erin. Not only did she help train him using all positive training techniques, she taught me so much and helped me figure out the best food for him as he is very picky. Erin has guided me and made me a better dog owner. I could not recommend her more. You’d be lucky to get to work with her.

This rating is not for the store but for the horrible service I received by their online service! Took advantage of their "free 1 to 2 day delivery. Went to store and discovered the same cat food was 20% less than on line! Called and they honored the sale price. Then I waited for my delivery scheduled for October 13. When I checked mid day the delivery was changed to the 15th! 5 days from date of purchase. I again called customer service and they were no help at all. Only verified what I already knew. So I asked for supervisor. I was placed on hold, hung up and called back in after holding 23 minutes. Still no supervisor, my phone number and email was given and as of tonight, 2 days later no call! I was told be the first customer service person I could return product at store. How would you like her working for you? Instead of trying to save the customer, she had the attitude of , I'm hourly, who cares if we loss a customer. Last time I'll order from them!

I am writing this review to acknowledge the wonderful service I received from Elana K on 2/26/21. My daughter and I went in the store knowing we wanted a pet hamster but were lost in terms of what we needed exactly and so forth. Elana spent so much individual time helping us pick out the right one and let us know exactly what we needed. She went over the instructions for each item and made sure I understood. She was so patient with not only me but my daughter as well. Thanks to her, we left the store very happy and confident about our how to take of our new furry little family member. She has an incredible amount of knowledge of all of the animals there and really helped us in making the right choice based on what my daughter was looking for. When we went to check out, Ryan P. was very sweet as well. I’m so glad I chose Petco because of these 2 employees. Well done!

I’m a regular shopper at this Petco at least four times a week plus this is where I take all three of my doodles to get groomed. This is not a complaint with their amazing stylist Morgan but with the cashier who upon seeing me walk to the register line told me I would need to wait a minute while she ran outside to talk on her phone with her friend.. then walked around the store for another 20 minutes looking for a manager who could take my items and check me out. Granted this was around 6 PM on Sunday aug 27. I cannot find any manager or any other staff in the store so I had to put my items back and leave the store to go to petsmart. I will only be returning to get my dogs groomed and will never again by trying to buy products at the store if they cannot staff people who treat their customers with respect.

If I could give this place a zero I would. They don’t answer the phone to ask any questions. There is an option to leave a voicemail and it states not available. We drove 35mins to the appointment to get there and not be able to be seen. We told the lady about the phone situation and apparently she took the comment personally, found the need to be catty and make a comment that they are working with the dogs and that is why they can’t answer the phone. Which if she listened we mentioned the voicemail issue to help all the clients that are coming to this location. Time is money and todays appointment was a waste of time. So I made this review to help out every customer that needs some feedback. Don’t waste your time and go to this place!

Hailey in the grooming department is the best groomer in Jacksonville for animals that struggle with anxiety. My high energy cattle dog always bucks and kicks when his feet are touched due to a bad experience in the past, but Hailey always is able to calm him down before, during, and after his nail trims. Not only does she provide extra emotional support for my dog throughout the process, but the nails are always immaculate. I have never had any blood/cuts on my dog and they are always cut even shorter than expected and buffed well where there are no sharp edges. On top of this, I know my dog is a handful to service, but Hailey never complains and always excitedly greets him by name. I cant recommend their grooming services enough!

Petco is a Petco, what else can you say. They all sell the same thing and you get what you get. The difference with this store was the people. I have a pup with severe allergies and spend hours reading the ingredients on dog food. I was there doing my monthly reading (nothing ever changes) but this time after I checked out the cashier asked me about my pup. I explained the issues we have and our food problems. She then decided to try and help me find something. Between her and the manager they made it seem like it was their life mission to help my girl find a food that she liked and that would not cause her issues. Even though I was done shopping and obviously not buying anything else they still went above and beyond.

I have kept parrots for 30 years. My current companion is 22 years old and has lived with me all 22 of those years. When my son asked for a parakeet for his 16th birthday, I decided to try at this Petco because I remembered that their animals use to be in good condition. I have never seen such sick birds in a pet store. There were birds literally gasping for breath. One was having trouble staying upright on the perch. It had a second conure in the cage with it that didn't look as sick. In another cage all of the parakeets were together. A couple still looked healthy but the rest were itchy with poor feather condition. One of those also had it's eyes shut and was having trouble breathing. Petco, you should be ashamed.

I have been a couple of times and this store is always disappointing. There no order or flow on items in the store and when I asked for assistance the answer from the young lady was that she couldn't show me because she had to be in the front, this while she was just putting away a couple fo toys and no other customers in the store. Both times the older gentleman who works there comes to the rescue and helps only after struggling to find anything. So I'd recommend just going somewhere else. The first time the food I bought was bad and after inspecting it the bottom of the bag had a big cut, returning was easy but I'd recommend you go somewhere else where they keep up with inventory and where staff is helpful.

I have had such a good experience at this Petco! We came for puppy play day and ended up speaking with Erin about our dog’s itching problem. She was so knowledgeable, knew all the right questions to ask, and was able to help us determine our dog had a food allergy, something even a veterinarian had been unable to diagnose. She was also able to recommend a food that would be best for him and she has helped solve his problem. It’s nice to know that Petco prides themselves on the education of their employees and that they hire people who are passionate enough about animals and their job that they go above and beyond to learn everything they can and help their customers. This Location is clean and well kept. The store has significantly more animal's than other Petcos in this area.The stock is above average and staff is friendly and eager to assist customers. As you would expect they have large selection of health care items and supplements. However, I feel that staff assigned to the aquatic pets are less than minimally trained on products, animals and care of the "products they have in this area. They indicate that they have experienced person assigned to the area. However, there hours seem to be early a.m. and this customer would respectfully suggest more training be provided for assistant that are assigned to back up said "Keeper/supervisor.

The store was super clean and looked great. All the animals and their enclosures look clean and healthy. All the associates were very helpful and friendly. When we got to check out Annie was so nice and was so incredible with my cat Jace and give him a bunch of lovies. Interacting with her felt like you were talking to a close friend. She definitely made us feel like we were family. Next time we are down in JAX at the kitty oncologist for Jace we will definitely be stopping in again. Jace really liked the selection of toys and got to pick out all the ones he wanted. Thanks for being awesome. ❤️

That was very please walking into the location. My boss has a hundred twenty five pound pitbull mastiff mix. He destroys every single toy with a squeak around it within minutes. After speaking with the lady she recommended a few toys. Summer recommendations weren't so good, but she was on point with one of them. It's last about 4 weeks now and he loves to play with it. He chose it and figuriously and he's yet to destroy it. I found the people that peco to be extremely helpful and willing to go out of the way to help you.. I highly recommend this place for all your pets needs and cares.

Take my fur-baby here regularly to get her nails cut and filed since she bites them all the time. The girls in grooming are always so sweet and remember my dog's name every time. My dog is a rescue and has serious abandonment issues and hates leaving my side, and really doesn't get along well with new people, but the girls are always very kind and gentle with her. Won't go anywhere else. As for the store, I have been recommended 2 items for my girl's stomach issues, both made her sick, so I stopped asking for recommendations from the store associates.

Most of the employees are ok but one of the women there ( will not name ) is so condescending. Could not be any ruder, and acts like me asking a question is a waste of her time. This is the third time I’ve had an issue with this said employee. I have always been extremely nice. I AVOID this store because of her. If she doesn’t like being there, why is she still working there? Terrible customer service. Will not return after my recent experience with her a few days ago.

Usually a great place with stocked shelves, able to price match (from the last time I know of.. about 5 months ago) Nice open, larger sized Petco. I've been going here occasionally for a little over two years. Though one time a little over year ago, maybe the manager.. maybe not- approached me with an attitude when I was shopping, for no apparent reason. Maybe she just had an off day- but I haven't seen her since. (Thankfully) Overall, a good store for generic needs.

Wow.. Sold me an exotic fish that I found out to be a regular fish here in the lakes that they decided to "rename". When I asked them about it, they said "you should've done your homework".. Nice answer after my wife spent $500+ that day on a 50 gallon tank and materials for my birthday.. I even told the worker I don't know anything about fish. I will never return to ANY petco after this experience. Honestly, disgusting human being working the fish area.

Hands down this is the Best Petco store in Florida. If you want great customer service from professionals then you need to go here. The store manager Adam, and his team are superb. Ron and Will are super knowledgeable in every aspect and they are a huge help with the salt water tanks and fish. The whole team makes a buying experience the best. I hope Petco corporate office uses this team and store as a there model store on how business should be done.

Just got a puppy. And now we need stuff for the pup. Been in a few times and we have only spoken to a dog trainer who was more than happy to share a few tips with us. Not much staff other than her. Cashier didn't seem to want to be there each time we came in. Was looking for specific items and we walked the store a few times to find them. Other employees I think there was 2 and they saw us walking around looking and didn't bother to try and help.

The staff here is great, the selection on items is good and varied, and most of the pet food on offer is Grain-Free and/or clearly labeled as Grain Free or not. They have specials all the time on the shelves, so it is worth stopping in or using a service to shop them. A tip for shopping in here, they have no stockroom, no back-of-the-store, so if it isn't on the shelf or on a pallet, it isn't here. That makes it easy on everyone.

Really upset that the food rewards has to be “unlocked”. You would assume that having the rewards program is good enough but it’s not. A cashier asked me about it tonight leading me to have to deal with customer service to find out I had to download the app to unlock the perk when I’ve bought over 10 bags this year which haven’t given me any credit. Every other pet store has automatic food rewards but not Petco.

I haven’t shopped at petco in years and I bought three items that my dog can’t use it ended up hurting her ankle. I can’t find the receipt and it hasn’t even been a week and I can’t return the items. This isn’t customer service, I have the card I bought it with I can show the date of purchase on the card transactions. I can’t get store credit or anything . I won’t be shopping at petco ever again.

Fantastic Petco. Sarah was fantastic. She took her time to accommodate my son who wanted to carry the mouse out of the store but with him being 3 probably was not a good idea. She instantly spang to action placing a piece of mouse food in another empty box satisfying my son. Riley was excellent as well on the register. He was very helpful and nice to deal with. Hats off to you guys and thank you!

This store staff makes up prices on products as they wish. Watch for SCAMMERS! When clearly at store says $29.99 they tried to charge me $35 plus tax . When I brought it to their attention they REAL PRICE and gave me very unprofessional attitude and even saw the shelf price still didn’t believe me. NEED TO HIRE professional staff! Definitely not coming back! Watch they charge you here!

Two trips; two negative experiences. Cat litter had no posted price. The clerk quoted $8.99. Rang up as $10.99. Changed price but with an attitude. Same item, next visit; posted price is $10.99, rang up as $11.99. Again, a price adjustment by someone who needs an attitude adjustment. Accurate pricing is pretty basic. The store at Durbin Pavillion is cleaner, nicer, and more accurate.

I like the store and the selection, but I just paid $17.99 for a can of powdered kitten formula that was $8.99 for the same size can and brand on Amazon. If I didn't need it tonight, I would have waited and ordered from Amazon. I expected to pay a little more at Petco, but never expected to pay double. The store is clean, the employees are nice, but those prices are ridiculous.

I took my granddaughter into Petco in mandarin this week to buy fish. Hannah helped us and was amazing. She knew everything and answered our many questions and was awesome. She went over and above to help us. Justin checked us out and he was just as amazing. These two has the best attitude and it just shows. They are a huge asset to this store and to all of us customers!!!!

This Petco is one of the better ones! The animals and fish appear clean and well-cared for, and the staff is surprisingly knowledgeable about the animals they are selling! They're also friendly, and helpful in general, with a couple of employees remembering me and making a point to stop and say hello. The store itself is clean and organized, and seems well cared for.

They are over priced. To top it off, they never had what i was looking for. Btw they also tried feesing me a line of B.S. saying that the item i wanted was on recall throughout the U.S. I of course looked it up..... Like i said B.S.... I shop at standard feed store now. They dont lie or give me B.S. excuses. Cherry on top standard feed store off king is cheaper.

When we walked in yesterday, we could tell the store staff was unloading a few pallets which had recently come in, but that's nothing to fault the crew for. They seemed to be kept pretty busy with customers by the cats and cashiering (the multitasking I saw was impressive!). The store was clean, freshly stocked, and safe. The staff was very helpful, too!

Awful. Brunette with glasses had a very rude demeanor when we arrived near closing time due to our work schedule. Was not friendly at all. I understand wanting to close and trying to get out as quickly as possible but a customer is a customer. We did make a purchase so its not asking for a lot when it comes to how you interact with customers. Try again

Thia Petco is a lot like the others look and cleanliness wise. The staff is very kind but I mostly shop there because of the adoptions with Anas Angels every weekend. Its a great rescue and I enjoy helping out the business that supports them. Even if you dont normally shop at Petco its worth dropping by to meet the kind volunteers who do adoptions!

Very happy n friendly staff, didnt have to wait for help, great selection of products for most pets, loads of aquatic species, huge selection of Dog n Cat food and the groomers are great. Every table had a pup on it. I took my Min Pin to have her nails clipped n buffed. Watching from the store the groomer used the buffer, n did not clip any nails.

DO NOT GROOM YOUR PETS WITH THIS PEOPLE. I used their services to groom my puppy. I picked my puppy up. You could see from his eyes that he was scared, shaking, and crying all day. It took me half a day to calm him down. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. If you are not patient with puppies being their first time grooming, you shouldn’t be grooming.…

Staff is very friendly and nice but I took my Pomeranian and told them I wanted a teddy bear look and specifically said … only do it if they know how and the employee said they knew how to. So I left him there. I pick up my dog and can’t believe how bad his cut is! And it was $90. I complained a little and left but now I want to just cry.

We had been taking our 10 year old dog to another place to be bathed and have her nails clipped. Last couple of times we were not satisfied with the services we paid for. We were recommended Petco on San Jose, Jax Florida. Was the best choice we made. Bathed and had her nails trimmed and we were very satisfied. Highly approved …

Was pretty frustrating. Had a really difficult time finding collars/leashes to meet our dog and when my child went & asked for help they lady just said, "What we have out is all we have"- & she never came over to help (although we were in the isle struggling for 45 mins). Bummer. My normal Petco in Durbin has great customer service.

The lady that was in charge of the adoption day was EXTREMELY rude!!! She was condescending and said a sly remark as we walked away. Very unprofessional!!! We were ready to adopt a dog and a cat today but after dealing with her, we'd rather go somewhere else!!! Extremely disappointed at PetCo for allowing someone like this in there.

The guy working the counter, you could tell, that he not only lived his job but animals too, albeit he admitted to having cats. Anyway, he offered product suggestions and not for a second did I ever feel a bother to him. If you need something for your pet Give Pet or an opportunity. Overall was a subpar experience while buying a fish tank. No one asked if I needed help while I was looking at tanks for about 20mins plus. Very sad that you get there 6 min before closing time, you beg you only need 1 item and you know exactly where it's at and the person guarding the door tells you absolutely not. Your closing time says 8 pm. Technically, you should've let me considering it wasn't 8 pm. I could've been in and out before 8.

Has a lot of cool stuff and usually the animals are very healthy. They're pretty good about recognizing when the fish have parasites and closing down those tanks until the issue is resolved. Only complaint is that you can order anything you can find in the store on amazon for about 1/3 of petco's price

Mika, the manager on staff today, helped me return an item that I bought from Amazon but was fulfilled by Petco. She had to call corporate to figure out how to return the item, but she was extremely patient with me. I already like Petco, but my experience with Mika was great. Awesome customer service.

I'm not able to find many local stores that deal in freshwater aquatics. They have been busy when I stopped in and I had to wait a while for service, but I was pleased. Ron was knowledgeable about fish and inverts and helpful with selection. I've also been impressed with their aquatic plant selection.

Absolutely unacceptable. No toys for enrichment, one singular perch and a filthy cage. These animals deserve better while they’re here, and it’s Petco’s responsibility to ensure they’re happy and healthy. If you don’t demonstrate proper care of animals, what example are you setting? I’m disgusted.

The staff is very helpful and friendly-- there is someone always willing to lend a hand if you need assistance. I also like that they have animal shelters come in and offer adoptions to give these babies a chance at love. These are just a few of the reasons that I continue to shop at Petco.

The condition of the bearded dragons is absolutely disgusting. One of the juveniles already has MBD, yellow fungus all over his body, and an extremely inflamed foot that is missing toes. If they cannot provide a space that creates healthy animals, they shouldn’t HAVE animals. Disgusting.

First visit, friendly people, clean facility, the groomer gave Zoe full service as my pet was groomed a couple of weeks prior but was uneven all over and my pets' paws felt rough. Aimee did a wonderful job and made my fur baby content as she showed no signs of anxiety.
