1) Get appointment online. 2) Gather all necessary paperwork (which is listed on their website) 3) make photocopies of the needed paperwork 4) get pre paid USPS envelope 5) go in, pay fee, take picture and that’s it. We’ve been trying to get an appointment for this location since last October. As you all know. The available slots are always “full” which sounds like it seems impossible to get an appointment, but if you think about it, how would they accommodate so much people? Which is why they have an appointment system. And their appointment system is released randomly…in which it gets full pretty fast. This past MLK holiday, my wife and I were bored and didn’t have anything to do, and so we just decided to check their appointment system if they had any openings (we do this three times a day for the past 4 months) and lo and behold. We saw the whole week open! It was great seeing green boxes on the dates as well since we were used to seeing red boxes. We quickly signed up for an appointment and within 10 mins… all those green boxes became red. So you guys know, there are a lot of Filipinos in SoCal….btw, we live in Utah, but have family in SoCal which is why PCG LA was our number one choice. We were willing to drive to Texas or even chicago for the PCG since they always have openings there. I know, it’s ridiculous that they should take care of their fellow Filipinos here but this consulate is small as it is and with the amount of Filipinos there are in the surrounding location, they’re not able to accommodate everyone. Last year when we filed for my wife’s “ROM” there was a missing document, and they were emailing us in terms of communication. And it would take 2-3 days for them to reply back. And with covid going on and ECQ or whatever in the Philippines. Everything is hectic. Just have patience. Anyway, my wife was prepared when she came in here. We had all the paperwork that they needed. And she was in and out in 35 mins for her passport renewal. And we were on our way. There is parking downstairs. And don’t forget to get a parking validation from the security guard since it’s worth $8 I believe. For 1 hour, parking was supposed to be $15 but with validation it was $7. Elevators though are a bit confusing, and they’re on a touch pad, you’ll see when you get there. Regardless, the lady in “processing” which is the first section everyone goes to, was really really nice. Have nothing but good things to say about this location except do your research first and come prepared with the requirements.

Getting an appointment is crazy, I would rate it 1/5. The online site keeps crashing and you probably have to refresh about 500x just to get an appointment. It’ll either freeze when you click submit or the captcha won’t work. However, the appointment is well organized and fast. And this 4/5 rating is for that. THIS FOR PASSPORT RENEWAL Parking I would advise taking a lyft if you’re from the area or reserve your parking spot ahead of time. I used Spothero.com and reserved a space at 611 S Catalina St. Garage, paid $10.75 for the whole day and it’s just 7-minute walk from the consulate. Upon entry to the main building: You need to check-in with the staff to confirm your appointment. If you’re too early, you’ll have to wait outside. If you’re late, it’ll be cancelled. My appointment was at 10:24am and I checked-in around 10:05am. The staff gave will give you a ticket and direct you to take the elevator to 5th floor. Entry to the office: - follow the arrows and queue in the line - staff will check your appointment - temperature check and covid-19 questionnaire form to be given to window #1 - staff will give you (last) ticket and you’ll have to wait until your number is called to designated window Process: Window #1 Pre-check - give covid-19 form/questionnaire - passport renewal required documents Window #7 Cashier - pay $60 THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH Window #3 Picture - they’ll take your photo, get your fingerprints and verify your information. voila! you’re done. 10:05am-10:39am The whole thing only took 34 minutes! Nice. The only thing I’ll note is that some of the staff weren’t enthusiastic to be there. One of the staff just rudely handed my documents and there’s also a staff that was so impatient with someone who cannot understand Filipino/English. He was really yelling at her and I don’t think customers should be treated that way.

GO ONLINE MONDAY 4:50 PM PST!!!! Successfully booked an appointment online. COVID UPDATE: Appointment only. Website does not work OR all appointments are “full”. Good luck. Update 2 (day of COVID appointment): * appointment times are a LIE * come early. There are LINES FOR LINES TO STAND IN MORE LINES * bring CASH ($80+) * nearby parking garages will be $20+ Previous review: The staff are nice people. They play TFC on the televisions. These are bureaucrats. They have a job to do. Make it easier for them and everyone wins. It's not their fault that passports cost $83 CASH if you want it mailed to you. You can get it for $60 CASH if you want a second trip to the Philippine government's version of the DMV. Here are some tips to my fellow countrymen who have to deal with the consulate for one reason or another: 1. Bring CASH. $100 in 20 dollar denominations should suffice for your adventure. 2. Park underground off Mariposa street. The consulate does VALIDATE. You pay at the Lower Plaza (LP) level. For 3 hours it cost me $7 with validation. 3. DO NOT STREET PARK. They do street sweeping on Thursday's and there's a 2 hour limit. You will be here for at least 3-4 hours. 4. Be kind to the consulate staff. They are overworked and underfunded. It's not their fault. 5. Bring a book, kindle, or some other form of entertainment. Or a backup charger for your phone. 6. DO NOT bring children if you can avoid it. 7. They will take your PHOTO for you. So dress professional. 8. BRING PHOTOCOPIES of your current/expired passport and birth certificate 9. You can make photocopies in the 3rd floor for 50 cents a page. 10. Food and drinks are NOT allowed on the floor at all. But there are bathrooms available.

Service is fast and friendly and stress-free if you have all the requirements. Here's what I did to renew my passport. The only hassle I encountered is with getting the online appointment schedule. The website is poorly designed and they give you different sites for the requirements and the online scheduling so I suggest to search on Google "philippine renewal passport" and another for the requirements. Whoever designed that website should find another career or whoever allowed the unnecessary info posted in that stupid site should rethink their decisions. (Really annoying and stupid government website links on the passport ph, not helpful at all) I googled ph renewal passport and you pick the location and date for the appointment. Input all the information from your latest passport as the site ask you to. I did mine a week ago and got a 9:00 am appointment for today. Here's the list of Requirements I brought. □ 1 photocopy of everything - birth certificate, latest passport, driver's license/ green card. □ 1 self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) (I got mine from USPS) □ $60 in cash We got in the building around 8:50 am. 9:00 am - we got our queue number 9:50 am - went to the window to hand over the requirements. 10:00 am - payed in the cashier 10:20 am - passport picture taking -done- Yes there is waiting but they have seats. I guess, there's not a lot of people today.

I was there for dual citizenship. When I approached the window, the lady clerk asked for my marriage certificate since I’ve changed my maiden last name to married one. I told her that I didn’t see that as requirement on the paper. Since I didn’t bring with me and was explaining more, she told me that she has to take care of more customers and I have to come back with the marriage certificate. If the requirements were more updated to include the marriage certificate I should have been done and have received the certificate. And why can’t she make the appointment on the spot since it’s a return trip? So, I left the place frustrated. So I returned the second time today, 6/16. I got all the required documents but then she looked at my birth certificate and found out that my father is of foreign nationality. So she asked for the election of Phil citizenship. I explained to her that I don’t have it and since I have my Philippine passport with me if that isn’t enough. She reasoned to me repeatedly about the law before 1975. Moreover, she suggested for me to apply the dual in the Philippines. I couldn’t understand the logic behind this. Please someone enlighten me. So I left again disappointed.

We had an appt on Dec 20 but was cancelled due to Covid from one of their employee. The appt was not rescheduled but instead we can walk-in any time and day, the problem with the walk-in is that they will only see you after they see everyone else, which means, about 3-4 pm, one hour before they close, but if there's a line of people, they will tell you to come back another day, since we drove from San Diego, we had to be early, got there around 10:30am but will have to wait until that time. My question is, why did they not call everyone who had appt and reschedule it? They would've called only the people who had an appt when they closed. They know that it's hard to get an appt, we check night and day for a few months for us to get this appt, other people we talked to had to pay someone to schedule their appt, we also tried checking around 12am - 4am which someone told us that's when the schedule comes out, again, all this could've been prevented if someone called to reschedule our appt. I'm posting this hoping that someone doesn't waste their time like us and hoping that the Consulate, if they care about their people, would know this and that a simple call will be greatly appreciated.

Tried to apply for a Dual Citizenship today, spoke to the lady at window 10, and checked our requirements. She questioned my husbands birth certificate, “A Certified True Copy “ from the NSO Philippines. Questioning about the date of birth, on that paper, it says 7-23-1957, but that lady can only see 7-3-1957. She reads it differently. That is just how the people wrote it on his birth certificate, the no.”2” is not clearly written. If there’s any wrong with how it was written, that should’ve been questioned long time ago, and that should’ve been corrected long time ago . Why just now, when he’s almost 66 y/o. He used the same documents for whatever transactions he made that needs a birth certificate, “NSO Certified “, the US government did not questioned also when he applied for a US citizens, passport, etc. We tried to explain, but she’s very rude and stand on what she believes. She still told us to go back home to the Philippines to the city of ormoc, to ask for a supplemental paperworks. What I did not tell her , is for her to use a magnifying glass so that she can see clearly on whatever is written on the papers from many years ago, maybe, right before she was born.

I had a good experience in processing my Dual citizenship. I had my appointment in the morning, and before our oath taking, we were given the chance to apply for a Philippine passport in the afternoon! The lady that worked there looked familiar, it turned out she's a famous comedian in the Philippines. She was very helpful and respectful, especially to the elderly people. Since we had an impromptu passport application, we were told where to get the self-addressed envelope with stamp and get docs photocopied. It was all done ground level. The copier lady knew what was needed to be copied. I paid around $16 for the envelope and photocopy. The parking was on the ground as well, with a nice Filipino gentleman working there, he even knew what time and how long it will take for the Dual citizenship. There is a food court nearby, accessible from the building. Make sure to get your $7 coupon for the parking fee from the Consulate Guard. Pay parking fee before you leave, the machine is next to the copier shop. Bring all your docs (make extra copies just in case) and cash. Stay positive. Good luck, hopefully, your experience will be good too.

Based on the previous reviews I was honestly expecting to have a stroke coming here but it actually was a very stream line process as long as you have all the documents you need. Bring at least 150$ CASH they do not accept card for anything. The staff were all quite friendly and will tell you exactly what they need and what you need to do. I spent approx about an hour and 15 or so minutes total to submit a request to replace a lost passport. Bring your a copy of your passport (if you have it), birth certificate, green card or certificate of citizenship (whichever applies to you), your SS card and California ID. Bring the original and copies of all said documents if you have it. Bring as much of the aforementioned documents as possible as otherwise the process will likely be more complicated and time consuming. They may be lenient if you are a little late for your appointment depending on how many people are there though try to be early if possible. You need to PRINT your appointment confirmation. The staff speak both Tagalog and English. There is meter parking around the entire plaza. Hope this info helps!

Dual citizenship process was very organized. I had an appointment and showed on time. The process from check in on the ground floor to the swearing in was very organized. My observation from people who were having problems with it is the lack of knowledge of the whole process or just ill-prepared. I suggest visitors read all the instructions completely and more importantly MAKE COPIES. That's what was the most common frustrations I noticed. I love the idea that they had sample completed forms so we have an idea of what response they really need for some fields. One thing the website can improve is maybe a Tagalog section, since we still have some countrymen that may not comprehend English too well. Otherwise, the whole experience was very painless if you read ahead, plan ahead and bring all requirements with COPIES. These are unprecedented times and a little patience can go a long way. Way to go and congratulations to the staff of the Los Angeles Consulate General's Office.

For months I've been checking the appointment system multiple times a day. Its really frustrating when all the dates were grayed out. In my experience they open around 12 noon Pacific Time. I just renewed my passport 2 days ago, it takes little less than an hour if you have complete requirements with you (like photocopy of your passport information page I saw a lot of applicants were not doing this and don't bother to bring your birth certificate if your passport was issued after Sept 2007) . The security guard was nice and the lady in counter # 1 was very helpful. But it looks like they can take in more appointments than what they're accepting right now there are only few applicants inside the consulate. One last, please bring cash they don't accept credit or debit card. We also paid $18 for the building parking its pretty expensive. You might want to park along the streets and pay the meter.

The people that works there were very insensitive and inconsiderate! My husband is battling through losing his vision so he is not able to see clearly. The lady in the window 9 which im not gonna name (famous person) who asked for the documents, as my husband sorting the docs he was not able to see what documents he has on hands the lady made a comment on a very rude and sarcastic tone “gamitin kasi yung salamin para makita” (“use your eye glasses so you can see”). Thats a very rude comment! You are very rude and insensitive. You dont know what this person is going thru for you to make such comment especially for someone that has disabilty. On the side note. All the negative comments here were very true. I experienced them my self today at this location. #philippinegeneralconsulate #philippinegeneralconsulatelosangeles

Poor service, the lady was so rude at window 9. She did want to answer any question. She had me to out to get a copy of my passport then tells me to come back to get my marriage contract and divorce decree when im trying to ask if if she can look if I already have a dual visa that exist back in the 90s or dual citizenship. Her respond was you can forget about that because we did not have any visa nor dual before. Then tells me to come Back again and just do what im asked to do and do an affidavit and a 25 dollars fee but yer one of her coworker said we should have a copy of that. That place should have better system and train their employees to have a better customer service. I feel treated poorly yesterday, humiliated having my blood pressure up because that lady at window 9 had a very rude unporofessional attitude

  • Mary Jane Balbin

It was a rare experience to have at least a good experience with the Philippine government. I had my passport appointment, and at the entrance it was unorganized who should go in first. Why don’t they just look at their log in information for the applicants who came first. Appointments are not Being followed accordingly. The girl at the window 12 on that day April 17, 2021, at around 10-11am took so long to check my documents. The cashier was fast but did not inform us that there would be an expedite fee at that time. The website says $60, but when we got there, I paid $70. $10 for the expedite price or working on Saturday! The girl at Window 5 that time at processing my information, fingerprint, and picture was very nice and had speedy service! Thumbs up to that!

  • Peter Raymond

Very thankful for those working at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles. This is my fifth time and by far the best! Everyone I encountered was helpful and accommodating. It was very refreshing to experience this and be able to share something positive to other Filipinos who will be going there. The entire process for my passport renewal was also the smoothest and fastest. I was expecting to be there for at least 2 hours, but I was done in probably less than 30 minutes, and I could have been done faster if I did the photocopies of some documents needed correctly. Social distancing and other protocols because of Covid 19 are thankfully in place so I felt very safe as well. (There is a photocopy office on the same floor and they were also very helpful)

  • Kathryn Benedicto

COVID requires an appointment from their online website. They you will get a confirmation in your email from “scheduler”. If you try to search your email it will only show up with this search. It drove me insane not finding the confirmation. I went in for a 11am appointment. Checked in at 10:50 went upstairs. In and out in 20 minutes so much better than the old way. Went in to get a power of attorney notarized and make sure you print out more than you need. Have a photocopy for each set of paper of ID being used. Need a separate appointment every process. Meaning one appointment for dual and a separate appointment for passport. Have cash, money order or cashiers check. Also have a priority prepaid flat rate envelope for items being sent back to you.

  • Sb Rekab

My friend and I came here for passport renewal. It was an easy process as long as you have ALL the requirements. For those renewing passport and had filed their marriage one year after passport renewal, pls note that you need an FSA released marriage certificate. I was disappointed that this was not elaborated in the website. The lady processing me had to write down the link for me. When I checked online how to acquire the marriage cert, you also have to make an account for FEDEX for shipping. It was quite disappointing since I came from a different state. I suggest that details like this should be included on the website. I feel bad for other people coming to the consulate without knowledge on this jnfo and had been turned away.

  • Christian Cruz

I had an appointment today at 10:20am. I did not call in almost 10:40am. This lady in window 9( Dual citizenship) she was rude, a b^tch, and not helping at all. She has short hair and wearing a blue dress today. She's a typical Filipino that she brought her bad attitude from the Philippines employee style. She did not wear a name tag that all employees should have wear one. Instead of lifting other Filipino up she's the type of a person will pull you down. She's a power tripping. Her customer service is so bad. If she's not happy with her job she should quit. No wonder the Philippines will never improve because look at those people working in the government and she's one of them.

  • Emily Gallinero

I went today right after work ( 12 hour night shift) , drove for 45 min only to be treated poorly, rudely and inconsiderately by the staff of Philippine Consulate! From the Security guard to everyone I’ve talked to ! Why are Filipino people treating their own kababayan this way ?? What’s wrong with you ? If you don’t find yourself happy to serve us , then just QUIT!! You’re a disappointment and disgrace to our country!! You have no empathy and you have crabs mentalities!! Is the consul not aware of this or you are just like them??? You are there to do your job ! You’re paid not to be self righteous! Do your job properly in a kindly manner for God’s sake!!

  • Hai Kim

The guy on the front desk were so rude. How come he will ask everything about my Identity in front of a lot of people. I only want to renew my passport and he was even asking for my status and green card. I want to renew my passport because it was going to expired and I don’t have my green card yet and no other form of ID aside from my passport. He just want to shame other Filipinos in front of other. He was so rude. Can you just change him to a more respectful one. If he can’t understand and respect the status and identity of other confidentiality then he has no right to work at Philippine Consulate . He should be fired and send him back to the Philippines...

  • Ellaine N

Make an appointment online and print the confirmation email (don’t forget to attach your signature). Make a copy of your passport. Bring cash, they don’t accept debit/credit cards. Buy an envelope with the necessary stamp (this you can buy, in cash, at their connecting office). All of these should be done prior to lining up to lessen the long waiting time. If you’re applying for a minor, make sure to bring a copy of their birth certificate, a photocopy of your identification card and necessary papers needed which is not stated at the confirmation email sent but through their website. And lastly have lots of patience, you’ll need it!

  • william ordono

100x worst than DMV. Check your blood pressure for long wait. Skeleton staff. Btw they check your blood pressure for free by Philippine Assc of Southern CA! By appointment only. If your lucky takes 1 wk online for a slot. Beware open shoes not allowed wow! My wife had to buy shoes nearby Big 5. Back 3x for a Dual Citizen application 3-4 hr process. Make sure to make copies of documents at home, they charge .50 cent each. They send you at 3rd flr to buy Express Mail envelope for $25 although across the hall charge $15! A nice $10 kickback! What else is new Philippines? It's much more fun at the Philippine Consulate for sure!

  • Rona Lynn

I purchase a roundtrip ticket to the Philippines online and it didn't ask for our passport numbers. I admit it was my mistake that I didn't checked restriction other than the popular covid-19. Day before our flight, my daughter was so excited to see her cousins, aunts and uncles, I called the airline says I am not allowed because of 6 months restrictions. Common I still have 4 months on my passport and we have to come back after two weeks because we have a job. My point is, $10k in the Philippines can help boost our economy, we went to Ireland without the hassle of passport thing. Just saying.

  • Maria Cecilia

Dealing with the people working in this office, particularly with the Civil Registry Department, is like being back in the Philippines. The employees are just blatantly arrogant, unprofessional and seem clueless of the word “service”. You call multiple times and nobody picks up the phone. When you get lucky and someone aswers on the other end, you just get a dismissive tone and attitude. How are these people hired to represent the country and assist Filipinos living abroad?! It is very disheartening for a lot of Filipinos to still experience this kind of service even in a first world country.

  • angelica sodario

Me and my 1 year old baby have an appointment, passport renewal for me and new passport application for him. I brought my husband with us so I cant have a hard time holding a baby and getting needed papers but they didnt allow my husband to come in even i told them that i will process my papers too and my husband will accompany our baby. They are so rude and no consideration mostly the security betty and the old man who gives ticket number. While in process in window 1 my baby fell, I texted my husband and he comes in and asked Betty to make a report, but they dont do it. Worst service!!!

  • TEA REX

The Philippines consulate office is in the 5th floor you have to take the 7th elevator to get there. If by chance you need to go to the restroom before or your appointment you will need a code from someone that works there. ‼️Most importantly make sure you have an appointment before driving or flying here. They do not accept walk-in appointment. Unfortunately we had to learn the hard way even it’s it difficult to make an appointment. Also, make sure you have your Covid vaccination card or at least have a picture of it.‼️ Thankfully the service was much better this time.

  • John Cummins

One of the best experiences I have ever had in passport renewals. They have an efficiency that I have never seen before. From the time I arrived to the time I left with a passport receipt, 23 minutes flat. For those of you who are about to go, please, please, please, read the requirements. Get your stuff ready and in order. It goes much much faster and smoother if you got your ducks in a row. Bring cash. Bring your envelopes and necessary postage. Consul General Adel and his staff were a model of efficiency and courteous service. Kudos to you and your staff.

Due to covid, they only shifted their services/inquiries through mail, by appointment or through phone. Their PHONE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! You can never get a hold of anybody because after two or three rings, it just hangs up for no rhyme or reason! Such a shame what their service quality is especially that they are in a foreign country. They should not give Filipinos a hard time reaching out to them. Americans in the PH are provided with great service in the US Embassy; PH Consulate in the US should do exactly the same. Such a shame..

  • A. H.

This place is such a mess. They make up their own rules..website is no use as they change everything when you get there. Got charged $16 for a copy of passport and an envelope. We brought our own envelope but they said we needed an extra stamp when it’s exactly the same thing..everyone is rude and everything is just chaotic. I had to come as my mom is over 60 and needed help but they did not allow me to come in..like I said, website says different from what the people actually say at the building.

  • Tee Paqueo

Couldn’t easily set up an appointment schedule for dual citizenship online. Limited days for slots are easily filled up which obviously shows that so many people are still waiting and looking for slots. And walk-ins are not allowed except for 65 yrs old and up. This is just a terrible disservice to the Filipinos. Why not open up slots for weeks and months ahead. All of us are busy and working here to vie for those limited slots first come first serve. Whoever idea it is, it’s just so idiotic.

  • Rufino Rondaris

Went there to notarize a document. They were to mail the paperwork to the Philippines. One month later the paperwork has not arrived. Calling the consulate by phone is useless since no one answers the phone at any time. Goes directly to voicemail. Contacted USPS. They have not received the package at all so it must still be at the consulate. Now I have to make another appointment to find out if the package was actually mailed in the first place. Waste of time. They are practically useless.

  • Hubert Llanes

No luck with phone inquiries, so I decided to go there in person. By the time I got there at 9:00am, it was already very busy. When my number was called and I found that I forgot to photocopy my ID, the clerk was nice enough to let me run down the hallway for a photocopy while she assisted someone else. She was back to helping me in no time. Sure there's always room for improvement, but looks like they've figured out how to get things moving along. Much better than many years ago.

  • Robert Lee (Mister 337)

I visited the Philippine consulate today, only to find it closed. Despite having an appointment scheduled for today, the sign indicated that they are closed until Tuesday, November 28th. ⭐ Review: Extremely disappointed with the Philippine consulate's lack of adherence to their own schedule. Despite having a scheduled appointment, the consulate was closed without any prior notice. This caused inconvenience and wasted our time. Not a reliable place for consular services.

  • Cheska Gerona

The Civil Registry for Marriage is impossible to reach via phone or email. I sent original documents to report my marriage to the consulate via mail over a month ago and have never received any form of confirmation or update that my application is in process or if my documents were ever received. Those are original copies and are very important documents but they never bothered sending any updates. I have been extremely patient but they have been very unprofessional!

  • Indul Gence

We are so happy and grateful to experience the warm and kindness of the people from the registration at the lobby and all the staff at the consular office specially the one who process our papers. We also observed while we are waiting for our oath taking time that the other applicants was very happy that they accomplished their purpose because the consular staff was doing their job well. Thank you very much.for keeping the good work. Rolando and Susan Caro

  • Rukia Kuchiki

If I can give it negative stars I would. Customer service sucks. No one answers the phone. The people who works here are rude a’f. The cashier lady yelled at my Dad cause he couldn’t hear what she was mumbling. Also, we were told we can use one envelope for 2 passports. Mine didn’t come. I didn’t even get a call if I needed to go back or not. Oh and the wait time is ridiculous. What’s the point of an appointment if there’s a freakin’ line outside?

  • Lamberto Saflor

Unsatisfactory. Was trying to make an appointment for wife's dual citizenship application through website since last week (11/14/2022). November 2022 calendar was full and you cannot even look at next month's appointment slots. Unable to get hold of any agent, robot answering service will forward your call but will tell you to call back later. Tried calling back numerous times but calls were being dropped or telling you again to call back later.

  • Cecilia Bangayan

We drove 6 hours to get our Philippine passport here. We were able to get appointments really quick and it was on the same day, which was very convenient. The personnel who assisted us were very professional, and accommodating. They made the process easy and took our documents in an orderly manner. We had a very positive experience in this office. The whole passport application took less than 30 minutes, very efficient, highly commendable.

  • Maureen Matias

Appreciate all the staff working during this new normal! The person at the registration area was very patient answering questions and explaining the next steps to complete the applicant’s request. Came in to renew my passport and I was done in less than 20minutes! Amazing! The staff were friendly and efficient in what they do so it was no surprise that requests were processed in a timely manner. Thank you and keep up the good work! :)

  • Jonas Cabaluna

They don’t answer calls! Even if you call all the numbers you see on their website they won’t answer your call. They never call back. I have a flight to the Philippines next week and they still haven’t sent me my passport even though it’s more then 6 weeks already. I already canceled my first flight to the Philippines because they haven’t sent me my passport yet. The lady over there told me that I can get my passport after two weeks.

  • Nico Bie

I was trying to follow up a passport related matter over the phone, but can’t get through the line! Their phone will ring for two or three times, after a series of press this and that, but then they just hung up. Very disappointing! I bet there are a lot of Filipinos experiencing the same way I do. Is this what we get from our own consulate, who suppose to be there to help? They must do something to improve their customer service!

  • Babetravelling

Even during this pandemic, my transaction was fast and efficient. I felt safe and worry free going around this time. All of the staff were wearing mask, handing hand sanitizer if necessary and keeping their distance. The chairs are seated 6ft apart and arrows are well detailed so we do not hit each other through entrance and exit. It was a pleasure being around the staff of the consulate. They were all friendly and helpful.

  • Jessie Domingo

I Had the most wonderful experience obtaining my dual citizen. the employees were courteous, orderly and very professional, caring ,very respectful and hard working. They were always smiling. My oath taking was scheduled right away and same day. Wow got oath taking at 11am super fast excellent service. I give the consulate personnel two thumbs up and a rating on 10+. I am very much satisfied with the performance.

  • joanne rosas

I had my passport renewal appointment at 1pm and went smoothly. Get your documents, photocopies, and returned envelop ready. Before you go to your appointment you need to get your priority number by the entrance then you'll be instructed to go to 5th floor and be in the line to get your temperature and once you're inside you just have to wait for your number to be called. It took 35minutes for the whole process.

  • Xyza Apostol

Came here today with my Dad, the lady at window 9 was very rude, she look like in her 40's and short hair. They supposed to have their own name tags next time so people who is not satisfied they can report this very unprofessional attitude. I hope management will see bad reviews about her and teach her a lesson! She needs to know how to respect elders, we treated very bad. This review is not worth any star!

  • Ed Blakeslee

They ignored our email, phone msgs, and texts for over a month. Getting an appointment was ALMOST impossible. Their policy says an applicant must go in alone unless they are a senior citizen, but then ignore their own policy and refused to allow me to accompany my 62y wife. Just confounding as all heck....but my wife said they were very organized and didn't take too long to process her passport application.

  • Ssay Manzano

All the employees that I talked to were so friendly. I came in prepared and organized and the lady who processed my "ROM" praised me for that. I felt so welcome and at home. The wait wasn't long unlike in Ph. They all speak Tagalog which is great if you're not fluent in English. I was able to file my Report of Marriage, renew my passport, and update my voter's name. Thank you for the fast service.

  • Sophia Miranda

Staff was nice, everything was orderly, the place was clean and socially distanced, and it was fairly quick. Maybe the wait time was longer pre-pandemic but it was quicker than i expected. I like the precautions that they had in place. It is hard to get an appointment right now, so when you do, make sure you bring everything and if possible, have back up documents. It was very straightforward.

  • AnaSuzette Sibal

The office is located in the fifth floor, there’s a lot of parking below the building. Appointment needed if you are applying Dual citizenship and passport service. Once you arrived you will asked your appointment time and get your number. Go to their website for more information for other services. Come with a complete requirement or you will not be able to process your application.

  • fred tan

The appointment system is not working sss dept. and all in general .you call them nobody answer. I went there in person to ask for an appointment, only to b treated in a rude manner by female guard & male receptionist.( train or replace them),it’s a waste of time! I don’t know now what to do!!!!! Can anybody help me setting up an appointment? Only in the Philippines.Have fun!

  • John Foster

Very professional and courteous. They honored our appointment as scheduled and took care of my wife and my daughters! It took a few extra weeks to get my wife’s new passport because she had a marriage and a name change but we had all the paperwork. My only suggestion is to make sure you’re fully prepared and bring plenty of cash, John

  • Lyn Casoni

If I could give 0 stars I would. Their customer service and professionalism is very bad. Their staff are yelling and have no respect whatsoever towards the people coming there and very inconsiderate. All the complaints made to this consulate are just thrown in the garbage or best kept secret. Nothing is changed. What a disgrace!

  • Silkey Beli

They are doing their best. Some people are just impatient, just like me. I am giving them 5 stars because they deserve it. Specially the lady at the notary, window 14. Thank you everyone at the Philippine Consul in Los Angeles. Thank you for all the help and assistance. Got my dual, my passport, my notary. Thank you all.

  • Antonio Zullo

They should request copies of documents via email to make sure that the person who is coming who might be out of state has all the right documents. I had the wrong type of birth certificate and was turned away. I assume this is a common thing and a solvable problem. Some of the people working there are very rude though.

  • Reina

Purposely ending the call. Been hearing and reading reviews abou this matter and i experienced it myself. Well, of you're busy at least answer the call and pit us on hold. Very disappointing. There's no update on my daughter's passport yet. It's been 3 months. And yhey even charged me extra $10 for "expedite" process.

  • Rico Tan

I went to the consulate to acquire dual citizenship. The staff were polite and competent. At the same time, the processing went smoothly. Even the parking staff were extremely kind. The facility was clean and social distancing was properly maintained. Overall, I had a great experience and everything was kept simple.

  • Verna Thomas

This is my very awesome reviews,I just went yesterday for my passport renewal. All the staff and processors are nice and kind. Although I flew all the way from Denver,Co just to get it done it's worth it was very quick just follow the requirements so you don't have to go back and fort.We will go back in LA for 13a

  • Sarah Jane Gresham

They are very responsive on the phone,I send my Report of marriage via mail 2 weeks ago and I called them for an update because I have an appointment for my passport this month. I’m very happy when Selena told me she will prioritize it and expecting by next-week I will received my Form back. Thank you Selena.

  • VERN ROX

come early @8am , as long as you have an appointment and prepared all needed documents, the process will be very smooth, bring some food and drinks and while waiting , take a break and eat at the lower level where the trees are, have a good day fellow Filipinos! Mabuhay!❤️ …

  • Andrew Uy

Got dual citizenship done here today is very little time. The office was well organized, clean, socially distant. Staff was very courteous and efficient. System flowed smoothly and safely. Congratulations and job well done by the current Consulate General! What a pleasant experience! Thanks.

  • Oscar Bocala

Spent an hour and a half inside for renewal of passport. With appointment, should have listed online the actual requirements. Photo copy of first page of passport and mailing large envelope from post office with tracking number. Bring your greencard. Maybe only an hour inside.

  • June Bonafe

Quick and efficient. Came in with an open mind and no expectations. I also came unprepared but they reassured me that it’s okay, sure it cost money but they had everything that I did not have… stamp, envelope, photo copies. My visit was very thorough, easy, and quick.

  • Mike McGath

I asked for advice on how to stay in the Philippines for 4 months and have approval before I go and have my return ticket be at the end of the 4 months. The basic answer wasI can't tell you what to do. You get a better deal than Filippinos, you get 30 days VISA free.

  • Rox M

The website is confusing and they did not let me in because I was wearing a ripped jeans that is not even too revealing, I put a napkin to cover it and when they finally let me in, I saw someone wearing ripped jeans that is uncovered. ‍♀️‍♀️ …

  • Daniel Hernan Pinoy

Went in for Passport Renewal. Got an appointment at 10, inside the building at around 10:10 out by 10:45. 1 window, then cashier window, then back to 1st window, then wait for next window where they take your photo and verify information/signatures.

  • Cesar Laboriante

I just need to ask one question to their office in Los Angeles so I can save a trip coming from Ventura County. It's all voice msgs and or they're selling clothing in their website. &@€#%¥+ If there's lower than 1 rating , i'll rate this place -0

  • nathe4120

Bad customer service especially window #14, very unprofessional lady. She needs to retire or put on a back end job. They need to have a badge to identify them, not all are unprofessional only window #14 getting a bad rep that day July 25, 2022

  • J Wilson

Worst experience ever!!! Me and my husband scheduled an appointment and came on time today, drove 2hrs and was greeted by a very rude security person. She was yelling at an older guy who was politely asking questions before us. Worst part

  • nene fernandez

The agents were courteous and efficient, however, It would have been courteous to let us know when we were done to get something to eat and come back for the oath taking. There are senior citizens and diabetic people. We need to do better.

  • さんレニン

Most of the people who gets inconvenienced and clog the lines are people who don’t have their proper paperwork or requirement ready so they leave the queue for something and then come back as if the line was miraculously held for them. I

  • Kerby Lugue

They have no respect on people's time. I've been there 2nd time and will be the third time coz they turned me away. You should be able to do walk in since they just started doing by appointment. What happen to those people who doesn't

Had read here regarding appointments being necessary if for dual citizenship or a passport. I had returned to the US recently after 21 months in PI, partially due to covid and needing a vax before could return to the US. I had sought

  • Carlos Blanco

Still backwards as usual. From getting an appointment to processing, it was horrendous. Priority envelopes and stamps are $13, computer broke down and they only accept cash payments. They get a 1 star because the people were nice.

  • Ralph Furigay is Vincent Mendoza morris

Hello this place is so helpful . I had a expired green card and they where able to get me a renewal and also a process to get my citizenship . They Understood my stituation. I'm impressed by the service they provided. Will be back

  • MusicArt Now

All went well because I had an appointment. Website appointment is a little buggy though which needs improvement. I didn't get an email confirmation but i printed my PDF generated appointment. Ticket #system like DMV works well.

  • Fly By

Wait time is reasonable (may be long for some) and employees are very polite. They also validated my parking ticket (at least partially as I had to stay there longer due to two transactions). A lot of places to eat around.

  • Dave Hottwatts Wilson (HotwattsWilson)

Philippine Embassy was closed today respecting June teenth. Texas kept the emancipation secret two extra years. At least my hard working attorney on the 3rd floor (suite 300) was there and he fixed what i needed.

  • Fred Fontanares

I was denied dual citizenship. But was explained the reason why. The clerk was so thorough and efficient on the explanation. The system here is much better than in the past. They are utilizing a "Q" ticket

  • Remi Tungul

The agency is very accomodating. They will assist you whatever missing documents that you need to produce. My mums passport correction arrived early as they promised. Thank you Philippines Consulate in LA.

  • iambryan

Some of the employees here are dumb as a rock. Including the female security guard who has double standards. She let some people with slippers in and told others that they can't go in.

  • Grace Gleason

Inconsiderate, unorganized, unprofessional, antiquated system. There are numerous things to focus on, especially improving your obsolete system, than your footwear/dress code.

  • David

If you have everything they ask for prepared it's pretty smooth If you don't, they also have a notary office in the same building where you can buy self addressed envelopes

  • Marvin Dolot

Their website is so awful, unreliable, very slow, and not user friendly. The only embassy in the world who has paid ads on a government agency website. Truly unbelievable.

  • Cynthia Tungpalan

The security guard was no help at all. She was texting all the time There reptionist was impolite and had a bad attitude. I asked for extra copy and he gave me a bad look.

  • Myrna Evangelista

I had the worst experience in this place! So mean and inconsiderate!!!! The only nice person is the nin-Filipino lady guard. Shame to the Filipino employees. Never again

  • Brian Higuera

My Mom got disrespected by one of their employees, she said he just tossed her old passport. Too many windows open, just open but no workers, employees just empty!!!

  • Miami Victorio

It’s been delivered much earlier than I expected and I congratulate the agency for a very efficient job done regarding my passport. Keep up the good work .

  • Liwayway Torres

It's really hard to make an appointment online. No one is answering the phone and can't leave a message. This government agency is not customer oriented!

  • Sophia Manuel

Had my passport renewed by online appointment. Service has improved immensely. It was fast and efficient. Good job, PCGLA! Thank you for your service.

  • Deplorable Drone Dude

Very busy, and slow service. Security Guard on duty was very RUDE, and kinda unprofessional. (She had an attitude, and was NOT very welcoming.

  • Katt Kantack

Very slow to get documents signed. It can take upwards of 4 hours regularly just for a signature, so good luck if you need to get one.

  • Lucky Nepomuceno

It doesn’t have to be this slooooooooow. Probably the only place less efficient than the DMV. The only upside is that staff are nice.

  • Norma Belleza

I called and left a message , I received a return call maybe less than 40 mins. and I got what I needed to know. Perfect.

  • Susan Cagaanan

I went back after a week to finish my SPA receptionist guy & lady @ W14 was so nice. Keep it up …
