I'd have to agree with a previous reviewer that it's disappointing that the store does not offer the VAT tax refund considering the shoes are not inexpensive. One interesting thing I noticed is that the customer service one received was variable. Certain customers were hovered or even fawned over and others were given cursory attention. Not rude but there was a clear difference. The lady who was running the store reminded me of Mrs Slocombe from "Are You Being Served". Fawning and gushing to those she thought mattered and dismissive if she pegged you for a commoner.
Very polite costumer service but not satisfied enough. The sizes changed so I had to return the size I am buying for years now for the bigger one, their response was immediate but when I got the new pair, a) I realised that 43 is too tight but 44 is too loose so no size for me anymore (used to buy 43) and b) the second pair arrived in an envelope with a lot of crumbles that don't go, so I guess the quality has changed throughout the years. I emailed immediately and again they answered very politely and found solution.
“Interesting” shoes, which we were told are typical of Venice and yet.. we found the same - and heard different versions - in Florence and Milan. If you travel from outside the European Union, BEAR IN MIND this shop does not offer tax free (apparently based on the business’ decision), despite selling not cheap products and being located in prime touristy locations.
Piedaterre is such a lovely experience. I didn’t have much time to browse when I first stopped by the shop. I later wished a had gotten a different pair of shoes and returned the next day hoping to make an exchange. Honestly I thought the saleswoman would say no but she was so kind and let me exchange for the pair I wanted. Thank you!
Beautiful shoes, but terrible customer service. It clearly caters to mass tourism. Take the time to walk around, and just like us you will most likely find a better option, with a better service, a better price, and the feel that you are actually supporting a local business instead of the Disney land of Friulane.
I love Piedaterre! The staff are so friendly and help you to find the perfect shoe. I then decided to buy more when I was back home. When they did not fit quite right, the staff were extremely helpful in helping me swap for a pair that did. I will happily buy more in the future! Grazie!
Amazing experience. The worker was so helpful and helped me pick the perfect style/size/color. We went to other stores prior to this to look at shoes and they are not even close to the quality of the shoes at Piedaterre. Support this local business!
Se volete comprare le tipiche friulane, questo è il posto giusto a due passi dal ponte di Rialto. Qui troverete una vasta scelta di modelli e tessuti!
Beautiful, high quality, artisan slippers. Professional, gracious and efficacious service. Will definitely return when back in Venice. Thank you.
