Let me start by saying we were there for the hottest 2 weeks of the summer which made sleeping difficult with no air conditioning and 2 people in each double bed. We had to bring fans from home and run them constantly to keep cool. IMHO, we had the best possible cabin on the end of the path, right on the river with plenty of shade and our own dock. The main beach was only 2 cabins away but we hardly used it since we had access to the water on our lot. Lawns are routinely mowed and trimmed. Garbage and recycle is routinely picked up from a central drop-off station. The access road is gravel but they try to grade it to fill in the potholes. Water pressure is great with plenty of hot water. Bathroom has been recently renovated with a lovely corner shower and new floors. Furniture is older but solidly built and in decent shape. We struggled with the dressers because the high humidity had swelled the wood. Floors are solid and recently resurfaced but the subfloors are at various angles because every room was added on to the main building. Curtains are only sheers which don’t make the room dark and they block the breeze somewhat. Pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, cups, glasses are all provided but bedding, towels, washcloths, soap, paper towel and facial tissue are not. Reserve a day or 2 after your vacation to launder everything you brought. Clothesline to hang wet clothing was a small string that was a little too high to be useful. I used a heavier rope and purchased clothes pins in town nearby. Insects are normal in Ontario but a nuisance if you come from the city. Hornets, ear wigs, dock spiders and mosquitoes are common. The river water is generally clear if you want to skin dive but the bottom is mostly weeds or silt. Lots of fishing and boating on the weekends but the traffic slows down a lot on weekdays. Fire pit ring was in place with wood available to purchase but we had to clean out the ring that was about 2 thirds full. No BBQ was available. The deck with picnic table was great near the shore and the dock is solid and new. Unfortunately, the debris from the old dock remained along the shore. I’m sure it will decay eventually but it poses a hazard in the meantime. Overall, a lovely change of pace from city living. If you are familiar with cottage living, none of this should be a surprise. If you are expecting a 5-star hotel with room service, you can look elsewhere.

I am very disappointed to have to even write this review. Furthermore the list of disappointments in this “resort” are numerous My wife booked 2 water view sites back in January for a stay in June. They were verbally confirmed but on check in we were simply informed that the owner “gave them to someone else” despite agreeing that she had acknowledged the request- instead we were given 2 soggy sites that our rigs repeatedly sank into despite using large block supports. Wifi nonexistent. Firewood expensive (20 dollars) and rotted punky burch is supplied at that price No paperwork ever given- no rules sheet or check in /out information ….nada. The owner drops in for cash payment before departure. No receipts. No recycling evident. Waterfront that was a walk for us was poorly kept and tired. All in all, I am shocked at any favourable reviews for this resort and would suggest others look elsewhere.

Brad came here as a young boy 9 or so, with his family until his early 20s. Brad and I started coming about 9 years ago. We have come every year since with the exception of COVID. I have read the reviews. Yes, as they say, it is a rustic cabin but absolutely wonderful. The view is exceptional! The service has always been exceptional! Carolyn and her family are the best host! I would highly recommend Pinecrest Resort to anyone looking for a place on the St. Lawrence River. The view is spectacular! I can't wait to go back next year. They hold a very special place in my heart! Sue Ann and Brad

At first you think...where is this place? U have to drive down the hill on a road through the fields down to the campsite as it is not visible from the highway. Friendly people all around as some neighbours live here seasonally. The family run staff was hard working. Good to see a solid work ethic. Bathrooms were clean. Grounds were well kept. No curfew. Didnt have to pay extra for showers. Every site had power and water...even for us tenters. Views of the river were nice. Very affordable. Lots of room to walk around. Highly recommendde and if we r ever this way again...we will def stop in for a few more daya! Ty.

I have stayed at Pinecrest for over 13 years now and have had a positive experience every time. The housekeeping cottages have the basics for you to cook meals and have a hot shower. The views and access to the St. Lawrence river won’t be found anywhere else. Family owned and operated for generations; not something you find much these days. The people who complain over no internet, no AC, outdated cabins or the firewood not being perfect should just stay in down town Gan in some fancy hotel.

We have been to this resort and campground many times and Carolyn and her family are always very accommodating and lovely to deal with. A great spot to bring your family for a lovely get away. Quaint cabins and lots of seasonal sites. Great docks and swimming area. Views alone are second to none.

This place is right up to '70s standards. Beloved by long-term family summer residents, but it is not suitable for travelling rvers. Cold shower, dilapidated baths, no internet (literally "what's that?), No laundry. Sites are grassy and spread out willy nilly between permanents. Water had times of being yellow. And for this we were charged $70 a night. Keep driving!

View from the deck of cabin 8, great rustic cabin with all you need for the week! Steps away from a sandy beach for sand castle building or just relaxing, quick access to the boat ramp.

There are cabins here. They are rustic. We have been traveling here for over 50 years. They have done a lot of work to improve the cabins. It is beautiful and peaceful by the St Lawrence River.

I don’t know how the rating can be this high. Sorry, not for us. We did not stay. The area is pretty, but the long, long driveway is pure HELL. There should have been a warning sign for rvs!!! The campers are willynilly, all over the place and the whole thing felt bad:( I don’t like to post bad reviews, but honestly...

Clean, VERY Rustic, nice views of the lake. Owners are accommodating. Cottages could use some updating. Owners could open up the cottages prior to arrivals to remove the musty wood smell. Large sites and friendly neighbours who are permanent. Note: Rentals are payable in cash only.

Ce camping est très dispendieux. 90$ plus taxes la nuit pour 2 services 30 amp. On nous a installé sur une butte. Aucune surface plane pour table et chaises. Ça ne vaut vraiment pas le déplacement.

Excellent Resort off the beaten path. Friendly and helpful owners, and great rates. Fantastic River location to use as a base to explore The St Lawrence River and close to both Gananoque and Kingston. Highly recommended.

  • Cindy Matharu

Great time had by all !! People are wonderful. The resort cabins need alot of updating, but the views make you forget that. Bring your own bedding and pillows. Some are provided but you will definitely want your own.

Became seasonal this year, what a blessing. We came from a park with a lot of problems. All our neighbors are long time campers. We've had nothing but a warm and welcoming experience. Grand kids love it.

  • Troy Halladay

Great spot on the water, cottages are available to rent bye the week (not sure if they do a nightly special) free hot shower if your tenting and lots to explore.

Great place to stay. Cabins are in great shape, they have three beaches for the kids. All kinds of fishing, Bass, Pike, lots of other kinds of fishing for the little ones..

Beautiful place but its a camp style campground. Get ready for bug bites. The cabins by the lake were not that clean last year. Needs to by bug sprayed badly.

  • Shajia Khan

Really spacious and well maintained cottages at a reasonable price. We rented a waterfront cottage with a great view. Highly recommended.

In my opinion Pinecrest resort is a hidden gem. The perfect place to come for a vacation to site by the water with friends and family.

  • Daniel Scheib

One of the best vacations I've ever had Perfect for just sitting back and relaxing by river and also great for fishing .

  • SteveKelly Walter

Rustic. But a perfect place for a family vacation. Been going here since we were children. Now we bring our children.

Beautiful spot but absolutely nothing is included with the cottages. Bring your own bedding and hand soap/sanitizer

Site enchanteur au bord du St Laurent, mais sanitaires spartiates. Un petit up date ne ferait pas de tord
