I believe this exit/entrance is rather unique and well designed. May need a police station or a couple officers there 24/7 which can be accomplished now that Seattle Police Department- East Precinct is empty? Maybe those assigned can hangout at Pioneer Square Station! Just a few hours during any given schedule; rotation between officers assigned at the East Precinct. All the time, neverending, maybe shared scheduling with all Seattle Police Department Precincts! Actually, the officers assigned To Pioneer Square Station can walk the beat: including the Court House, Cut Hall Park, Commissary Korean Kitchen, DESC Main Admin Offices, DESC Auxiliary Shelter, Flame Catering Cafe, Smith Tower and North to James. Which is a good walk so it must be shared with all Precincts and may have to have several teams walking the beat have coverage on all coners ideally simultaneously. All to keep the peace and safe to utilize all business which includes the Court House! But specifically Pioneer Square Station! I honestly hope our Police Chef and Mayor reads this as well as Sound Transit Light Rail!
Large group of People blocking an entrance (literally sitting all over the entry way) off James St. Appears to be a sanctioned group (they had multiple catering-style drink dispensers set up) behaving badly. Elevator across 3rd is out of order with no signage to indicate it as such. Had to carry my 50lbs of luggage down dark steps. Now sweaty and sitting on a hot train car (probably a side effect of the HVAC trying to cycle air faster for the pandemic). Love the frequent LINK schedules, Orca tap fares, and pricing, but the trip between the ferry and this station with airline luggage always feels like asking to get robbed. Loads of people with no clue how to find the station getting off the ferry and asking for directions at every intersection. Set your stuff together, Seattle. I don't mind walking through the city, but I hate depending on a bewildered crowd to do so safely.
The station is very clean, safe and accessible. There are many things to look at this underground station (i.e., arts, signs, etc.). There are no buses running underground and they are all on the surfaces. There are no parking spots so please be mindful. I came to this station in the morning, and it is not very crowded as usual on a Saturday morning
Beautiful station! This is our first time taking the light rail from the Se-Tac airport and it took us around an hour to reach Pioneer Square Station. We spent the first 15 mins locating the light rail station from Sea-Tac and purchased the ORCA cards.
If you are coming in from SeaTac with luguage, don't get off here. The exit we used was a dump with homeless people collaslessing everywhere. Avoid avoid avoid. May be better to get off at University.
No elevator or escalator access to the street dirty stairwells no apparent security too bad I can’t go negative in the stars
Ended up here after the pandemic several zombies and whatnot but and overall enjoyable experience will come again …
I know it's pioneer square, but good grief, sketchy a$$ people having around. It is sad to see what Seattle has become.
Exits blocked. Dirty and had to carry heavy suitcase up many stairs
