I am not a member of this gym, but I was interested in using the pool facilities off peak. Before even visiting the gym I was very clear that I only intended to use the pool, and on what I was willing to spend and they invited me over only to contradict many things that were mentioned over the phone. Although I wanted a month to month membership I would have settled for a different contract that suited my intentions for using the gym. However, the sales service I received was very questionable. Upon entering the gym some of the staff were slightly standoffish with a few being very friendly. The pool seemed great and bathrooms neat and clean, as well as COVID19 compliant. When we got to discussing the contract I felt slightly swindled by the sales agent and even more so by the manager who had the additional tone of belittling to his voice. When the sales agent fetched the manager to negotiate different tariffs for my benefit they not only left the door wide open, but spoke about me in third person in front of me. As a female entering a gym for the first time I didn't feel comfortable with how the sales were handled. And I say as a female because I feel had I to be a male I would have been treated differently. Definitely not going to spend my hard earned money in a gym with a sales agent and a manager like this.

Horrible Maintenance I've been going here for years and there have been some improvements, but it seems slowly everything is going backwards. * a Third or the free weights have been removed (assuming because they break and never get replaced), instead of replacing them they simply removed a third of the weight racks so it doesn't look empty. * There is now only one pair left of certain weights, which is becoming a problem even when the gym is quite empty * There are no 50kg dumb bell's and the 55 and 60kg ones are of extremely poor quality, handle is loose etc. * The calf raise machine has been removed (for a very long time) * One of the better leg press machines has been removed (why?) * Lying leg curl machine was removed and never replaced * There is only one Barbell Squat Pad / Sponge (Which on some days is nowhere to be found) * * Screws are loose on all the Olympic bars, and a lot of the machines The shower doors have been removed and never replaced for over a year now, Virgin active literally built an entire gym with showers etc. in less time than it took just to fix / replace a few shower doors.

Planet Fitness in Parklands is a great gym! I've been going there for a few months now and I've always been impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, the friendliness of the staff, and the availability of equipment. I gave up on these guys and moved to another gym - couldn't be happier. How's this: I ordered a new entry-tag for my daughter, and had to pay. Due to their admin issues after repeated attempts a year went by and they couldn't give it to me. I cancelled it, very upset and they would not refund me: BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN SO LONG! I escalated it to national level, not believing they could all have escaped from the mad hatters tea party, but that was a dead end. That's when I gave up. I didn't have the courage to take the working family tags back for a refund. Frustrating and infuriating. When I was there the pool was usually gross, the machines were often in disrepair, there was usually repairs in progress going on, The snack bar was closed had the time (before someone new took over), some shower doors were usually broken and taped off. Positives: it was close to me, and was cheaper than other gyms.

Had to update my review.... unfortunately Have been going to the same club for 2years, but not much longer. The quality at this gym went down faster and harder than the Titanic...staff very very rude and extremely ill mannered (they acting like a bunch of drunk teens in public and dropping very rude and crude comments about the people in the gym), bathrooms dirty, full of mold and stinks. Very few sanitizer spray bottles on the floor and several not functioning, a lot of broken equipment and no tissue paper to wipe and santize before and after workouts. We really miss the old management and staff *Loved my gym session. Well maintained, clean gym and equipment. Keeping to all Covid protocols as well!! Thanks for the awesome service with a big smile from all staff members!!*

Could do with some more equipment for the functional area. Bumper Plates and some extra bars pls!!! And there is definitely space for another pull up bar with a smaller circumference for smaller hands. Girls wanna do pull ups too EDIT....... Your request machine at the front does not work. Pls what is this branch email address. I want to make a request pleeeez. Wall balls for functional area pls..! And why are the kids treating the functional arearack like a school playground with no supervision... really annoying today. Steam room never seems. to work, rusty looks like mold in the corners. Place is going backwards and nobody cares about reviews.

The experience with Planet Fitness Parklands gets 1 star but I would of liked to rate it half a star. Took out a membership with the gym at the beginning of April and the process to date has been nothing but UNPLEASANT!! From the signing up to payment reflection of the tag to collecting the tag to incorrect debit order dates put through. Consultant was quick to want to sign a membership but when a problem arose it was the client's responsibility to call customer service. Quick to sign the client and quick to shove the clients problem to customer service. We havent even started gyming and the experience has been a TERRIBLE BACK AND FORTH.

The standards of this gym declined in the last few months. Aircon is always out of order. Reception staff are now training group classes instead of professional instructors, with no communication of the structure changes. While signing on to train with professional trainers, we are now left with reception staff training certain classes, and paying the same as before. Tickets are closed without a resolution or email. Very unhappy with the service. Changing rooms and sauna is not clean. I’m now struggling to cancel my contract , as this is not what I signed up for. The communication is very poor. Complaints fall on deaf ears.

I came here to leave a review cause i have run out of options i cancelled my account months ago and had confirmation that everything was paid in full and after 7 months they debit my account no communication no indication that money is outstanding I keep calling and no one seems to have a answer or care , and now i seem there are several more people with the same issue what is this ? when i am called they say that they will get back to me never actually doing that avoid at all cost they promise the world but dont deliver and it becomes your job to correct there error it honestly feels like a scam

Planet fitness in Parklands is poorly managed. Mens showers are not cleaned properly, broken shower doors, blocked drains. The cleaners share the showers and change rooms with the paying patrons - this lowers hygiene standards and destroys the image of the gym overall. The cleaner’s male supervisor does random visits to the gym and sits around permanently texting or browsing on his mobile phone - has no idea of what the cleaners are doing. Gym equipment is generally in a poor state of repair. The memberships fees are too low thus attracting a lot of lower income undesirable characters.

Planet fitness prides itself for having the safest gyms yet at planet fitness parkland they almost killed us, making us workout in a place without ventilation or aircon. Everyone was wet not from workout but from heat. To make matters worse was as I requested an extra fan for a bit extra circulation thou the guy was willing to help he told me straight out that this issue is an old issue there had been so many complaints I could just add mine but nothing will be done. This is not only bad service but it is also a health and safety issue people will die of heat stroke.

I have been a member at Planet Fitness Parklands for a long time. Exercise machines are old and outdated maintenance is non existant, the poor staff take flack for head offices ineptitude also, the staff turnover is very high. Everything takes forever to fix. Treadmills are of low quality, old and never in good operating way. I won't even begin to comment on the male ablution and swimming pool, disgusting to say the least. I am very disappointed and will be joining another gym soon. Poor staff, I feel for them. My advice to them is run... Very unhappy member.

Gym could really really use a upgrade. When compared to newer Planet Fitness gyms, it's shocking how outdated some of the equipment is. In fact, it's the same treadmills that was there when I was a little kid over 10 years ago. There is much better, newer treadmills in other gyms. The aircon also very off in this gym. It never feels like it works. Manual fans does not assist a inadequate air conditioning system. Other Planet Fitnesses seem to have good temp control but Parklands consistently seems to have aircon issues.

Im about to contact the consumer protection act. The person whom called is raising her voice at me instead of listening to me. i made 2 card payments and a bebit order. the last card payment made was double deducted hence Planet fitness is sitting with 4 payments and my child has only been there for 3 months. she couldn't even give me a chance to speak or email the 4 proof of payments to her, she just shouted over me. please get back to me as soon as possible and not someone whom is shouting at me and is inadequate!!!

Joined the gym on 31 Aug 2021. Had a voucher but was forced to take a contact assuring me payment would be sorted out accordingly. They are yet to get my monthly payments right... and it's only been 2 months. Walked into the gym yesterday to be told im blocked because I have not paid an ANNUAL levy for machine maintenance although I haven't even completed 2 months at the gym. I have yet to use the LADIES ONLY area without there being males working out in the area. And nobody monitors. Nice gym. Pity about the rest.

This gym has a lot. I initially joined because of the cross training area. Plenty of equipment and machines. The only thing that puts me off are the bathrooms. The toilets and wash basins are dirty. I haven't seen them clean and I visit regularly, however the lockers and benches are clean. The staff and customer service use to be non-existent, but they've recently made big improvements. I see a lot of new staff that are very friendly. They've definitely been doing a lot this year to improve the gym.

Totally disappointed in Parklands Planet Fitness. Cancelled my account in 2015 already. All fees were settled. Now only they send me an email saying i have money outstanding. I mean seriously? 6 years after closing my account. This is not the first time they harassed me regarding my account. And i constantly provided them with relevant documents showing i paid them. I would most definitely never recommend this gym. Horrible service and false information.

Decent priced gym for a low budget. Has all the equipment you need to do full body workout. Super circuit section, dedicated ladies section, studio, spinning studio, cardio machines upstairs, two pools, sauna and showers, play area for kids, free wifi. Generally doesn't get too full compared to other gyms so even peak times can still use the equipment you desire. Bit of old equipment mainly but everything still works and be used just as any gym.

Would like to compliment Amber Habana for the conscientious and diligent service she gave me. After more than 9 months battling with Plattekloof Planet Fitness and 2 different sales managers at Parklands, to fix a problem for me on my account. Amber Habana was the only one who actually took the trouble to call Planet Fitness head office and assist me. I highly recommend Amber for any customer related bussiness. Beutiful friendly personality to.

The gym is ok and well equipped but the pool is unfortunately not acceptable. I´ve joined the club for swimming but the water is cloudy and the edges green of algae. It needs urgently a proper pool service. ....... .....and now two months!!!!later after several complaints still the same. No answer from the management anymore. Just ignoring. I don't know why we pay more for a pool. I can rather join a club without pool for much cheaper rates.

Great customer service the place to be if you want to work out amazing personal trainers who will help you reach your goal either in losing weight or gaining muscle the place is clean a big swimming pool for both old and young to use they also have steam room where you can sit and detox and they also have a coffee bar inside so we can have something on the go make sure you go and sign up this is the best gym in town

My mom and I signed up only because of their "child carer" option. Every time we have been, the carer has not been available for some or other reason. When confronted, she has a very ugly streak, and the manager doesn't seem to care.. The 1 or 2 times she has been available and looked after my 1 year old, she has been with her. I'm hoping this situation gets better, but we'll have to wait and see.

A sales consultant called me today, they were not professional and when I asked for a quote on a 6 month contract he kept on persisting that I need to come to the gym and chat to him.I explained that I can't currently because I am traveling and asked for a quote, which I wanted to pay. He dropped the phone on me and never called back. Such bad service, I'm glad I never signed up.

The staff members and fitness trainers are there to help you every step of the way. Planet Fitness Parklands offers small meals and refreshments for exceptional prices after that intense workout sessions.

Planet fitness parklands is a very good gym to work out at. Its quite spacious and there is plenty of machinery to use. Very clean. There is however one down side - continuous theft in the bathroom lockers. If you have valuable items like an iPhone please get a strong secure padlock otherwise leave the stuff in the front lockers where cameras are installed.

Debit orders for random amounts, long after confirmation in writing from Planet Fitness was given that the membership was cancelled. If you want to struggle for months or years to get them to stop billing you for a cancelled membership, join with them. Absolutely disgusting how it's all over social media that they do this often and get away with it.

Compared to Fitness organizations in the area, This is Affordable, Spacious, Efficient on training equipments and has friendlier staff at reception BUT The ladies steam room smells!!! No aroma, too bad. There is this one treadmill that has been broken for months .. lol, not sure why they cant fix it. The new instructors are boring!

1 star only cause there’s no option for 0. I can’t wait for my contract o end. We’ve complained multiple times about so many things, nothing ever gets done. ive checked virgin, red and viva. and planet fitness offered me the best package deal at the best price. and when i was being difficult they extended the promotion period by 2 days. just bit iffy cos as an amputee i prefer the smith machine to free weight squats. and its probably the only one they dont have.

very poor customer service i dealt with MORGAN the sales consultant. would not recommend anyone going to her. planet fitness sales consultants need to focus on maintainting their sale and not just getting the sale. Small Gym, ancient equipment from the 80's, various machines always out of order, not enough water towers, way too much staff, members of this gym have no respect for the equipment, constantly slamming weights and damaging equipment, no one re-racks, they hog weights, overall not a great experience.

If this club would just be managed properly I feel like it could be the best club in the area. Yes the equipment is older but if serviced and looked after one wouldn't even notice. Group instructors have attitude problems but Amber at Reception is the best parklands employee I've ever met.

Fantastic gym facilities, except the lady looking after the kids, I don't feel comfortable leaving my kid with her. Personal trainers and staff are friendly and always willing to assist. This a a full service gym for a fraction of the price you would pay at the Red gym across the road.

Both with my and my husbands contracts the messed up the initial debits. My husband has been billed a full contract for the last 2 months when he signed a discovery contract and we have had no luck from management or customer care. Very disappointed in the service.

The gym itself is not bad but equipment permanently appears to be busted. Most staff members are awesome apart from one or two people who aren't very helpful and may need some customer service training. The showers are also really not looked after well.

Nice gym with nice machines. The staff are friendly but I do feel they could upgrade their showers. The bathroom is old and has a dirty feel. An extreme positive though is that in 10 months of training there I have seen broken equipment maybe twice.

Their threadmills hayi yho.. Its either they don't incline or the belts are wanky... Its disappointing coz everyday it's the same thing. Other machines are working alright. Staff is really friendly and they are attentive where needed.

For the first time at Planet Fitness I experienced theft. It leaves a bad smell for that someone can actually open up a locker and steal phones from pockets.. I even found my car and house keys outside of a locked locker..

The staff is not the best at helping resolve issues or any concerns you have. Quite dissapointing. Once youve signed the contract that's all that matters, no one cares after that. Patiently waiting for my contract to end

Nice gym, but infested with cockroaches. I advised reception about 3 weeks ago and nothing has been done. Also seems as if the lockers never gets cleaned, which I also mentioned to reception and nothing has been done.

Planet Fitness Parklands Gym is clean and Covid strict.staff is friendly and they used the lockdown to upgrade equipment. Pool is immaculate, well have to wait for the steam room to become operational again.

Gym is OK, but less Tha friendly staff..... No staff visible on the floor in case there is a medical emergency, or to seek help with a machine..... One always has to go back to reception to call them.

Nice atmosphere and you get to do your workout without any stress. Just avoid those busy periods because it gets packed. Otherwise all good. Functional during loadshedding. Also plenty of parking.

It's pleasant enough and has everything you need as far as a gym goes. We mostly use the swimming pool. I have teenage boys who enjoy going there to use the equipment.
