I absolutely love this location. I started my weight loss journey about to months ago and Planet Fitness is a perfect fit for me. Let’s start with location, this PF is located in a plaza with PLENTY of parking. Also located in the plaza is a Pete’s Market so you can pick up your healthy foods after your workout! This location is open 24 hours so it is convenient for all their members. The gym is always super clean with plenty of hand sanitizer stations, disinfectant, and paper towels to keep the machines and your hands clean! They also offer individual disinfectant bottles so you do not have to share with other members. This location has replaced the machines so almost all the machines are new. Now to the staff. I usually go to this gym anywhere from 11pm to 2am depending on my work schedule. I absolutely love the night staff. Ernest and Kevin are my favorite employees. A company is only as good as there employees and they definitely a good fit for PF. They are always super welcoming and friendly. And they are constantly cleaning keeping the gym safe and clean. They have always been super helpful. They have showed me how to best utilized the PF app and even linked my debit card to my account so now I don’t need to bring a card or cash to the gym! They really help make the gym comfortable for its members.
I have been fortunate enough to belong to multiple health clubs and gyms at the same time for the past 15 years when I moved back to Chicago. The Covid crisis gave me an opportunity to look around and see what Planet Fitness was all about. The word was they were not for serious weightlifters. I walked in to the PF on Cermak when some gyms started to reopen. I haven't been back to any of the gyms I used to juggle throughout the month before. I love my home club on Cermak. The front desk personnel are always smiling and quick to welcome me as soon as I walk in. It's really never overcrowded but if you want to minimize your exposure to people right now you can check how many people are using the club by just going to the website. If it looks busy there are 2 other PFs within a mile. My Black card membership allows me to put some variety in where I workout as well as pick the club with the least # of people. I can go to any PF I want but I'm finding myself going to my home club on Cermak 80% of the time because the people there are the best....and I have been a gym rat for over 50 years. None better. Thank you PF Cermak staff!!
I enjoy coming to this gym because it’s open 24/7, has parking, is no frills/judgement, is clean, and staff is generally very friendly. The issue I’ve been frustrated with more recently is HOW LOUD THE MUSIC is here…I’ve noticed that it’s been much louder the last few months for some reason. It’s to the point that it makes it very difficult to listen to your own music without either playing it very loudly in your headphones or needing noise cancelling headphones. At times I feel like I’m at the club or something considering how loud it is here…I have asked them so many times to turn it down but most of the time they don’t because apparently only the manager is able to do it for whatever reason…the manager does lower the volume but other employees always say they can’t. But every time I come back here the music is always back to being very loud. It’s been really frustrating!!! Please lower the volume of your music so we can all enjoy our own music!!!! Also I wish the gym had more hand sanitizing stations such as in the locker rooms and throughout the gym. They have them in a few places but mostly near the entrance.
I normally workout at this planet fitness and I give it 2 stars because they actually up keep the place fairly well, but I've had an situation with the assistant manager Brenda in which she was rude and unprofessional. She interrupts my workout to tell me I cannot use my resistance bands. Number one, I've been to plenty different planet fitness where I have never had an issue with using my bands, so if this is a "Plant Fitness rule", I feel that consistency in the rules should be the same at every location. I comprehend that these bands may be not allowed but the way she went about communicating that information was poor. I was so annoyed to the point I ended my workout for the day. When I spoke to the Manager on duty he explained to me and proceeded to apologize for any inconvenience. Brenda is very rude and she shouldn't be anyone's assistant manager if that's how she talks with guests who pay to workout.
I wish to offer a five-star recommendation for Jesse Sanchez and Planet Fitness Little Village which he manages. I have had the opportunity to visit several Planet Fitness locations in the Chicago area and beyond and I must say that I am most impressed with his. Unlike other locations where there is little control over the behavior of the clients, Jesse has his house in great order. His management is a well oiled machine. It is obvious that his employees enjoy working for him and that he has a definite rapport with them. Everyone has a job to do and they do it well. The workout environment is peaceful and productive. He controls his gym without being overbearing. His management style is firm and yet relaxed. It is a pleasure to work out in his gym. Other managers can sure learn from watching Jesse's style. There is something special going on at Planet Fitness Little Village.
They have a “no bag” “no jacket” policy that they just started on top of no use of the locker rooms. That’s unreasonable in a cold climate place like Chicago. So the front check-in person saw me come in with my bag which I put my coat in— since there’s no where else to put it— then comes up to me in the middle of a run and tells me to put my bag and items in the car. Mind you, he just saw me come in and greeted me while I’m holding the bag. This is the first day that they’re enforcing it, yet I saw other ppl with their items. Anyway, he tells me I have to put my items in my car and that I needed to do it right away and is rushing me. I tried to leave and ended up hurting myself trying to interrupt my treadmill run. I’m so disgusted with this place. If you’re going to enforce something, do it consistently and make sure everyone is abiding by it.
I been going to this gym for about 4 months. It has definitely been a struggle but thanks to the trainer “Jonathan” he always give me that push that I need to keep going . I always feel the need to want to give up and he always give me the courage to keep pushing. He definitely gives you the motivation to stay consistent. He is always patient, kind and keeps the workouts fun and interesting. I feel that I never would have seen results through out my body if it wasn’t for his training techniques. I am so happy to see my weight decrease and inches off my waist. Plus, I have notice I have become much stronger since the beginning of my journey. I feel like he is a person who loves and is very dedicated to his job. I so can’t wait to see what my future results will be while training with him.
My merchandise has been stolen from me while I was working out in front of my eyes and planet fitness has done nothing to help my situation or even acknowledge it. I alerted front desk and she had no idea what to do but said she would tell a manager to call me the next day. This was last week. Last month I was harassed in the parking lot of this fitness club. It just seems that staff doesn't care about the people that they let attend this club or the members that invest their money every month. Please cancel my membership if you see this since nobody will pick up my calls, or acknowledge my voicemails. I don’t care to go back to an establishment where I’ve been robbed or harassed.
I went into this gym on November 28th and asked the staff member at front if I could join for one month just to try out the gym. He said yes it's going to be $23.99 for the month and you have to come back here and quit before January 10th or else you will be charged a $200 annual fee. I came back December 28th and asked to quit. The staff told me that the guy who registered me wroke down in the notes that I had to come back before December 10th to cancel and I was still going to be charged the fee. They did cut down the fee for me for the miscommunication and charged me $60 I still feel like they completely scammed me. Will never go back don't recommend anybody joins.
You’ll hear people saying that you can’t reach your fitness goals coming here but I highly disagree. You see people with all kinds of different goals and people are all very friendly and respectful. The staff as well is very kind and always have a smile and are willing to help with anything you may need. Equipment is also kept in good shape. The only thing I would say is that you can’t bring anything outside of a gym which is the only let down. Something as simple as a band is not allowed and you will be asked to stop using it and put it away if they see you using it. Other than that equipment is very well kept and everyone is very friendly.
These people take their job way to serious and some of the equipment need to be oiled up. Employees let people hog up multiple weights. That's where they need to take their job serious. Edit/update: the guy who works here during the week in the pink hat litterally asked me to put my mask up as I was pulling it up and fixing it because my headphone was being pushed out by the string in the mask. 2 people infront of me on the treadmill didn't have their mask. The place had garbage cans full of trash and cans of empty drinks on the seats of machine. Your employees must be lazy or their management is really bad. It's probably both
The planet fitness have plenty of parking the times I've been here. I've worked out in the mornings and every time it has been clean. The personnel are always claiming and making sure everything is running smooth. The place has plenty of workout machines and I've enjoyed them on my workouts. Also there are plenty of TV's to watch your favorite programs, I wished they had Closed caption so I can read what's going on TV while listening to my music. People are focused on working out and when done you can taste a shower and leave clean. I'll keep coming back when I'm near.
This location is great and I absolutely love the team! They’re sooo friendly and attentive to my needs. However, the main reason why I’ve been a consistent active member is because of the amazing trainer Johnathan! He’s sooo professional and knowledgeable on how to get you the body that you’re seeking! I would not be where I’m at if it wasn’t for him. His dedication and passion is remarkable. I love the motivation and the specific exercise design that he created for me to assist me in accomplishing my healthy lifestyle goals. I would follow this trainer anywhere!!!!
The locker room smells like mildew...the staff can be prejudice as well, Ive had so many weird experiences here. I have been a member of Planet Fitness and many other gyms for years. I am a certified personal trainer and I go around the country reviewing gyms. I have been to other Planet Fitness facilities in other states as well. The staff always seem to have a additude and never want to help. These people are not very nice people, at all. I don't think I'll be returning to this PARTICULAR location in the future, BUT I still like Planet Fitness as a brand. Peace.
Love the service here. From the moment you walk in your always greeted with smiles, always clean and well supervised.I have the black card which gives me the advantage to tanning, message chairs, bring a friend and a trainer! Actually that's the main reason i use it,Jonathan has been amazing he can either do a personalized session where he dedicates to you and pushes you to finish a great work out or if it's a group session he welcomes you to join as well.Weather it's one on one or group sessions he always adjust to your workout needs, highly recommend their trainer!
I started using the planet fitness gym at little village, after I moved to the Chicago area a few months ago. My experience has been nothing short of amazing. They have the most friendly staff and Jonathan, the personal trainer at the gym is fantastic. Among other things, he took the time to create a custom workout plan specific for my goals and the results over the past few months have just been amazing! Try this gym if you get the chance, and ask for Jonathan the personal trainer. I promise that you will also sing his/their praises!
Nice and friendly place. Staff is friendly and helpful. I like the fact that the gym is open 24 hours every day. They just updated the cardio machines and also added a stairmaster. The stretch room is very comfortable, and the hydro massage bed is amazing. I still give the gym 5 stars, but (no fault of the gym owner) I don't like that fact that the gym doesn't have a bench press and a squat rack. I hear that some Planet Fitness do have that equipment, and it will be nice if they added both machines. Still a great gym to go to.
Every single time I come in, I receive terrible customer service. They never really try to help solve an issue, just give you a cold shoulder and dismiss you. It's hard enough for people to walk into a gym and find motivation to work out. Yet then to have a bad/rude experience, isn't worth going. The 'team' should great you, at the very least. They have nice machines, again not worth getting attitude anytime you want a workout or tan. I wish I never gave them my business. Moral to the story. SIGN UP AT A DIFFERENT GYM.
This location is awesome. Very well kept, the staff is helpful, and friendly. I recently signed up through my insurance and I have been able to work with the personal trainer there. He’s phenomenal!! He explains every machine well, shows you how to position your body to maximize your workout, and he encourages you to keep going! To be honest I look forward to going just so I can workout with him! He’s very knowledgeable about the body, and cheers you on just when you wanna give up! This location is highly recommended.
Honestly, my only issue is there is NEVER hot water in the showers. I mean, I don't understand. Like, EVERY SHOWER does not have hot water. You might catch like 2min of a shower with lukewarm water. I typically used to work out at Back of the Yards, unfortunately, this location is closer to work otherwise, I'd keep going. Its getting colder in Chicago if this hot water issue isn't solved my mom is gonna be showing up here cause yo girl caught gripa... Other than this, overall the gym is kept pretty clean.
I really have enjoyed going to this Planet Fitness in the last two years, and it's only gotten better. It is clean, staff is welcoming, and it's a comfortable place to work out. In the last few months, I have worked with the personal trainer Jonathon. He has taught me more about the machines, free lifting, and how to safely get in shape and I've seen real results. He also teaches classes during the day that I've attended. I recommend seeing him and coming to this gym in general. Thank you!
I been going to this gym since 2015 and never had an issue up until now. I understand COVID been an issue but this is supposed to be A 24/7 gym yet they’re only open 24/4. This really sucks considering my workouts were always at 5-6 am. The weekend used to be even better considering early hours but the staff say their hours are permanently staying short for the weekend and we’ll a lot of gyms are opening back to their regular hours except this location.
This place is very clean and it's got a lot of equipment. I like the showers there (I wish they kept the doors for the showers instead of the curtains which replaced the doors) The employees keep the place clean. I see them wipe down th equipment sometimes when I go there which is nice. People usually clean up after themselves. There are other planet fitness that I went to that isn't as clean and have broken equipment. This one is by far my favorite.
Picture this: a clean gym, with friendly staff, and an entrance well lit by working lightbulbs. Check ✔️ Check ✔️ Needs Lighting I see it every time I walk in past the dark entrance that makes the gym facade appear closed. This gym looks dark and ominously cool, but if the customer thinks the gym is closed because the outside floor lights aren’t working or are simply off, then we aren’t attracting as many customers as we otherwise could.
Great gym with all the basics and polite people. Didn't realize how great a no bs gym it was until I moved and went looking for a new gym by me. Everything and everyone at PF was honest and upfront. Even when I had to cancel, I just walked in, explained I was moving. They took care of it right there with no difficulty, no mailed letters, no bs. Membership was cancelled effective the end of the month that was already paid. Thanks guys.
Great gym! Everything is kept very clean the staff is attentive. My only complaint is the arrangement of the free weights/machines. Its easily the most popular spot in the gym and becomes crowded quickly. I've visited at a broad range of times and there are always a large number of cardio machines unoccupied. It's my opinion that the space these occupy could be used for the weights section and would give the space some breathing room.
PLEASE MOVE THE SMITH MACHINES BACK TOWARD THE WALL.... THEY MOVED EM TOO CLOSE TO OTHER MACHINES. YOUR HOURS PLEASE ADJUST ON WEB... IT SAYS MONDAY 24HRS.... BUT ITS INACCURATE. THEY DONT OPEN UNTIL 5AM. IDEALLY WISH WEEKENDS WOULD OPEN UP AT 5AM IF YOU ARE CHOOSING NOT TO BE OPEN 24HRS. CICERO ENDS UP BEING THE SPOT TO GO TO BECAUSE YOUR LOCATION CAN'T GET IT TOGETHER WITH HOURS N MACHINE PLACEMENTS SO WE HAVE ENOUGH SPACE.
I’ve been working out with Johnathan, the in house trainer for a few months now and he is literally thee best trainer I have ever worked with. Results ✔️ Knowledge ✔️ Availability ✔️ Encouraging ✔️ Thank you for everything you do to help us with our fitness goal, you seriously are a rockstar Johnathan!!!!! Also, this location is the cleanest gym I have ever been in. Very friendly staff that are on top of the clients needs.
As I work close to this location I had my daily routine planned. I go to the gym at 0500 am till 0630 am. Now on weekends the gym opens at 0700 am, the same time as I start work. I work till 1900 and this is when the gym closes. Makes no sense to cut off the hours in the time where everyone is at the gym ... weekends and early mornings. This schedule is extremely inconvenient and needs to change back to 24h every day.
New to this place after going to another gym for years and I have to admit it is better than I initially imagined. The equipment is kept clean & associates are on top of keeping conditions safe for members. The equipment is easy to locate and use- I enjoy the 4am workouts as very few ppl are in at that time but the app helps a lot in planning ahead my workouts. Definitely pleasantly surprised & happy to be a member.
The planet fitness in little village is by far the best gym to go to. I absolutely love the entire staff however, I would like to pay special attention to the personal trainer Johnathan. I’ve been attending Johnathan’s classes In the afternoon five days a week and have seen some remarkable results. Johnathan is very professional and can certainly help you with your weight loss goals. I give this gym five stars ⭐️
I love the simplicity, I am always getting what I expect, equipment always works, I don't need classes, I just need to be fit and strong. There is plenty of room to work out, stretch, move around, AND social distance at Planet Fitness. You have not raised your monthly fees since I first heard of you, and I think that is all-out good will on your part. I can't think of a single complaint. That is sincere.
First time stepping foot at a gym lol. It's pretty clean and people make sure to clean after they use the machines. I go around 4:30 pm and there's not much foot traffic. I noticed around 5:30 a lot more ppl started coming in. They have 4 stair masters but one wasn't working. I noticed they have more than one smith machines. I mostly do cardio so not too sure how the weight side of the gym looks.
Every time you enter the gym the managers Manny and Brenda are super attentive!! The staff is coordinated and all of them dedicate themselves to keep the gym clean and sanitized!! It is difficult to find spaces where we feel comfortable in this pandemic but in planet fitness little village it is one of those places that feels like home! Thank you so much for keeping the hard work!
Really clean and nice place to workout. I actually thought about leaving due to moving but I started working out with the trainer Johnathan and he have been really worth the stay. He’s attentive and very helpful when it comes to what I want to approve on as an individual. The group session are also a lot of fun mixed with a hard workout, which completes a perfect workout.
The service here is great. It is always clean and not too crowded. I have the black card membership so i go to workout, tan then enjoy a massage. The hydra beds are AMAZING! Stand up tanning beds give great results. They have lockers and showers. Bike racks available outside which i love because i usually ride my bike here. Convenient location as well.
Like this gym today was my first time visiting it's not too crowded I went in about 9ish it's clean. The environment is cool. There's was plenty of machines. I liked the fact that they have a room for a 30min workout with different machines to hit every work out. They have another room for stretching and abs only. Overall like this location.
Great place to start working out and for casual gym users. Has the basics you'll need. It can get busy sometimes, but people typically rotate machines quickly (as long as they or you are not on your phone). Each gym can have different equipment, so explore other nearby locations if you dont see the machine/equipment you want.
its a good gym for beginners because it’s all mostly machines. Once you’ve master basic postures and workouts I suggest get another membership elsewhere. The gym usually gets crowded in the evening and in the early morning. The staff are friendly and helpful but the gym goers are usually hostile about giving up machines.
Planet fitness in Pilsen is cleaner and more laid back then some other gyms. But the problem is it takes 4 weeks or more to fix a piece of equipment even if that piece of equipment only needs one screw. Even in the bathroom if a urinal or toilet breaks it takes forever and ever for them to fix it. THAT'S INEXCUSABLE.
I had confused this location with the one in pulaski so this is my personal thought. I like this location better than the one In pulaski and the one in cicero this one does have more variety of machines the staff is nice here too but the only thing is that the lady's restroom doesn't always smell clean.
Nasty! I'm a Uber/Lyft driver, and a black card holder so through out my week I stop at random PF to work out and shower. During my visit the bathroom and showers were discussing. Yes they were constantly cleaning the work out equipment but the bathroom and shower areas were completely ignored.
Cleanest gym I’ve been to in chicago!! The staff is so nice, always cleaning, taking Covid precautions, and overall always supportive! HIGHLY recommend being a member here. Also the pricing is insanely cheap, you can’t beat $10 a month! Also is right next to Pete’s market so very convenient
Gets packed at peak hours, rules rarely followed, easy going gym. Go here for it's location, good price, and clean rooms. EDIT: There has been a recent renovation with NEW treadmill and other cardio machines. Very nice touch! (Especially after they where down for a day...)
Staff are very nice and friendly when you walk in. Most of the equipment is new now so appreciate the new machines and stuff to work out with. Environment is pretty chill and clean but if you don’t like to go when crowded I suggest you check the app to see the crowd level.
I'll be honest, I have a black card just so I can use the bathroom at Planet Fitness (because they're in every neighborhood I work in). And let's face it Public bathrooms are in short supply since covid. The front desk staff here is friendly and the place is clean.
Gym is super clean!! Smells good in there. Lots of work our machines and Cardio. Jonathan the trainer is awesome! Very knowledgeable and patient. Thank you for my 1st. Work out assignment! Jessie and Anita at the front desk are super nice as well.
I love the peace of mind you get whenever you walk into any of planet fitness facilities. No hassles at all. Freedom to exercise as you please!! Friendly and professional staff at the locations I’ve visited which were 3 so far since I’ve been a member.
Love this planet fitness, always clean and organized. The staff are all great people, I got help from Gil, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Also gave me some great workout tips. Awesome gym to go to, with awesome employees, highly recommend it.
I like the good vibe that is felt from the moment you enter, it is a place where everyone and everyone is welcome, the music is motivating to do your routines especially when they play reggaeton 10 out of 10 excellent service …
The Black Card perks aren’t as nice as they are in other PF locations. One of their hydro massages has been down since I’ve been going to the gym (about 3 months), but overall it’s a good experience from what you expect from Planet Fitness.
Don't usually write reviews, but this really couldn't be ignored. Not a bad place. Just know what they're about before you sign up. The whole "we don't want people who have muscles to scare people who don't"...I get it. If people need that
I have been to many gyms, this is basic and clean. I just want to spend 20 to 25 minutes a day here. I have a routine which alternates different body areas so I know exactly what I came to do that day. Which makes it extremely frustrating
I am a Planet Fitness black card member and Planet Fitness Little Village is my home gym. The manager there is Jesse Sanchez. I am so glad I chose that as my home gym, not only because it is the closest to my house, but it is run so much
I’ve been going to this gym for a month the staff is great. They have a trainer Johnathin there he is amazing I’ve been working with him since i started his work out are amazing I feel so much better when I leave the gym knowing i worked
Always packed . One person using 6 different dumbbell at the same time . Ppl do 1 set and 20 min on their phones. I’m Never able to use the smith machine cause everyone is waiting to use the same machine not enough machines for everybody.
This is one of the better PFs in Chicago. Plenty of equipment and space.. I wish the showers had doors instead of curtains.. Nice gym over all and it's actually 24hrs! I'm switching to Xsports next month because the PF by me isn't 24/7.
Planet Fitness staff don't let me use the walking machines, I'm so disappointed I have being a customer for 3 years with a monthly fee every month. I walked 20 mnts under the rain to the Gym and they said you can't use our machines.
Of the few Planet Fitness gyms I've gone to, I like this one the best. It's pretty clean, open 24/7, big parking lot. Only thing I always have an issue with is that there's A TON more cardio equipment than weight lifting equipment.
Extremely friendly staff! First time I visited, I was warmly greeted and explained all COVID precautions that the facility was implementing. Consistent staff treatment that endorses a positive environment. Would highly recommend.
I do like one thing from the pandemic and its not a face diaper. Its the fact that now all the machines are cleaned by the person who just used it. The bathrooms are clean, the staff is polite, and the monthly charge is minimal.
This is my home PF and it's great. Some of the friendliest PF staff out there and they're really on top of keeping this gym clean and tidy. Wish they would upgrade their locker rooms though. Thanks for being awesome all around!
I hate the fact that they are not 24 hours I can’t barely make it there any more because they are not 24 hours I will soon cancel my membership they need to go back to being 24 hours I’m very upset by this I cannot work out
As someone who is just getting back to working out after some years, I totally love this place. For me, it has what I need for my personal goals. Staff is always helpful and provide prompt courteous service with a smile.
This is my home gym and although it does get busy I'm glad you can still find machines and that they are back to 24hr. The locker rooms here are the super clean. The employees are friendly and helpful.
It's all good but their weekend hours are too short. I hope management understands people work during the week and have more time to workout on the weekends. Closing at 7 P.M is not adequate enough.
Cheap, lots of locations in out of the way places so great for travelers. Sometimes hard to find some lighter weight barbells, but generally plenty of availability for a good basic workout.
Did your club only budget 10 months for cable? All channels but the PF channel have been out since the beginning of November with no answer why they aren't back long before now.
This place is not maintained well at all. Today 8 treadmills were out of order. Not unusual for this place. Music is too loud. Lockers are all rusty. The worst PF I have used.
Very limited machines. They only have dumbells for free weights. Which suck, they only have 3 Smith machines. There is no space for people to work out freely with dumbells.
It's clean and pretty easy to get the work out you want in. Would recommend to others. It's a planet fitness with nice staff the few times I've need to interact with them.
They have very few dumbbells under 35 stocked. The shelves are empty and the staff can’t find the weights. Not sure what the point of going to a gym with no weights is.
Great place friendly workers. Always clean there’s . Definitely safe to work out and it is never overcrowded able to use the machines I want and workout smoothly.
Great place no judgment and for a person who is starting their weight loss journey is huge for me. Plus being open 24 hours is great since i work overnight.
Great location, great staff, very clean place, the only thing I want to share to make this more great please upgrade regular massage chairs. Thanks.
Appreciate the new mats in the warm up section, but there needs to be more free weights or place a smaller size weight rack in the core room.
This gym is so clean, has a nice amount of equipment & isn’t packed at night at all! Love coming here for my evening sessions.
What’s up with the lockers in the men’s locker room? They’re disgusting and rusted /always full of stuff with no locks
I love this place plenty of workout machines never too crowded plenty of parking can't beat it for the price!
Overall the gym is pretty clean and the machines are in decent shape. The bathroom is not so great though.
This is my gym I do like it.. Wish our equipment was up to date like other locations
Slums! Locker rooms filthy, paint chipping from all the lockers. Just DIRTY!
Great place for exercise. I love the tvs listed on the top
Clean and friendly place! Staff is very courteous!
Bad/old men rest room. Facility is not lit enough.
Seems great to me workers are friendly and chill
It's clean people are nice and it's convenient..
