Came to the gym after being told I don't have to pay to cancel my membership. After arriving it was determined I do have to pay. The associate admits my entire account makes no sense. I've paid for a black card membership from day 1 which means I don't have to pay a cancellation fee. My account has a fee attached despite me having had a black card membership from day one. My account also shows I signed up online when I have pictures of the tablet and my name on the contract I signed. The area manager won't lift the cancellation fees besides this and her staff wont even tell me her full name. My advice to anybody who sees this is avoid this gym at all cost just go to blink fitness where you would never have to deal with any foolishness. They clearly altered my contract and lied on the details of it. I don't expect the manager or owner to do anything because they've already shown they have zero integrity . Update The owner replied with a lie but I expected that from whoever runs these dumps. It is widely known and told to every gym patron there is no cancellation fees associated with black card members. Yet the owner wants me to to believe I need to pay a fee for a membership all the location employees told me have no fees associated with. Again it's obvious someone altered my information because like the front desk staff said none of it makes sense or is accurate with what I'm paying for or how I magically have a contract signed for online when I literally have pics of the tablet I used to sign the contract in his review. The area manager won't waive fees neither will the crook that responded to my review. I would advise anybody who wants an honest gym and and management with integrity to stay far from this place. They are basically robbing me every month for a membership I don't and don't use. I'll be reporting this business and it's practices and Lord willing nobody else gets scammed and lied to about a membership.

I use to workout here 3 to 4 times a week for the past few months. This past Friday, April 12th After my workout, I came to the locker room to shower before I returned to work. Once I placed my soiled clothes in my bag I closed my locker and immediately realized that I forgot my key on the top shelf. There was a young woman who was leaving the locker room who I stopped and asked to have someone come downstairs to cut my lock. I took a quick shower and waited near my locker for assistance. The young lady returned, said she explained to the man at the front desk that I needed help and didn't have clothes on. Rivera (frontdesk person) told her that I needed to complete the paperwork upstairs at the front desk and get the clippers (plain site of people on the street and those checking in). I walked passed the weight area to hear laughing and seeing people gesturing other to look at me. I then had to walk past the cardio area, then upstairs to the front desk. I ask for the clippers and was told he couldn't give them to me, that I had to complete paperwork and wait for another employee to return from lunch so that he could clip the lock. I ask, "then I am I up here?" He responded that was procedure. It was humiliating to be seen by so many people wearing only a towel and flip flops. I've never experienced this anywhere. I had this same scenario about 6 years ago at the Jamaica (Metropolitan) location and some one came to me while I remained in the bathroom, hidden from the public. Despite having my severe insecurities about my body I mustered every ounce of dignity that I had to expose myself. As I type this in tears. This should not have taken place. I have yet to hear a response from anyone in management to my emails.

I have been coming to this gym for years before the pandemic. It was a hotbed of locker break-ins. Co-worker had his locker broken into and everything from wallet, IDs, Credit Cards were gone!!!! That’s why you have to keep all your personal property with you by your side at all times!! No telling who is coming into the gym. Overall, it’s a pretty decent gym in my opinion. I get there at 0500 hours in the morning and do my workout, not too many people there, same crew every morning. Everything is open and available to use. Avoid the afternoon crowd, gets busy. One minor annoyance are the weights and mats left all over the place after the evening crowd has left and the morning crowd ends up hunting for stuff and putting them back into their proper locations to do their work out routine. The lockers are okay for the most part, some are broken or have been for a long time. Showers are a pain at times, standing at the stall waiting for the hot water to come on. The staff has always been nice and helpful to me, never a problem. I got the black card to try out other different PF gyms near me. The one over at Queensboro Plaza is nice and new but, packed with the tenants from the condo upstairs constantly. And their lockers and locker room is small as heck!!!! Anyway, this PF is decent enough for it’s price range. And the cardio equipment has been upgraded. I just wish that the stretching and Abs area had softer lighting, every time I am there, it is harsh and I feel like I am going to be interrogated by someone! But still, a decent gym, you’re there for a work out and that’s it. You’re not there to hang out. Get your workout done and keep it moving.

My sister mistakenly locked herself out of her locker (the key inside with all other personal belongings) when she went to take a shower after her work out on her lunch break. She asked another gym member to ask for help and was instructed by Victor at front desk to come up to the front desk to provide more information since that was the only way he'd help. She was forced to walk TWO flights of stairs from the women's locker room to the front desk wearing nothing but a towel in the evening in front of a full gym of members. When she came up to Victor wearing only her towel, he requested membership and locker information that she could not answer because she wasn't told to get the number and because her membership key card was in the locked locker. He was very special l dismissive and insensitive by rolling his eyes and referring to my sister to a statement related to "this girl in a towel" or "towel girl" in front of other gym members. Planet fitness has been contacted and informed of the situation and the franchise owner has not contacted my sister for this public humiliation. Corporate office says the only thing they can do is reach out to the franchisee owner. It has been 6-7 weeks since the incident done in front of most of her co- workers because of the gym location. She gets harassed by people on the street who witnessed the incident. Please advise the next steps to correct this issue in a timely and appropriate manner since emails from my sister aren't receiving responses, thank you.

It’s nice to see that the staff is very friendly but the problem with this gym is that it seems like they don’t make the effort to at least fix the lockers, the AC AND the machines. The people in the gym are also weird and it’s hard to get the weights to work out with out getting yelled at and intimidated when asking how many sets he or she has. I know I left a good review saying it’s a good gym but I’m just extremely disappointed specifically in this gym for not fixing the machines, AC, massage beds and lockers. I CONSISTENTLY told the employees in the gym that the following things as I mentioned before in my previous sentence and they said “we’re trying to get all this resolved” but nothing has changed. It seems like they don’t care too much to even make the effort to make these changes. So as a result of this, I canceled my membership. I feel like every planet fitness is literally the same and it’s only better if you as a person don’t take working out seriously or if you’re in highschool willing to start working out at an early age ranging from 14 - 18 which is the only positive thing about this gym. Going forward this gym is not for me and I hope this feedback will at least make the gyms better even if I don’t go there anymore. ‍♀️

Poor communication and overall treatment from the gym and the Manager Victor here. He displayed poor customer service this morning. When questioned about the incident. Victor took a poor attitude approach in his demeanor and tone of voice! Someone like Victor shouldn’t be the manager and represent Planet fitness here in New York. I repeat, poor customer service and a poor hire as a manager with poor customer service(Not Ideal). I have yet to receive a follow up call about the incident that involved 6 other members. All of our items were stolen out of our locker(Locks were cut).The theft also had a knife on him! No metal detectors at the entrance! Victor appeared as if this as happened before. It’s not safe here so enter at your own risk and leave personal items at home. Find a better location, this one is not safe for anyone entering the men’s locker room. I am going to take this extremely far so everyone in the world will know about how poor this location is. I’m traveling from Chicago and this is the worst location I’ve ever seen. Now let’s take it a step further and talk about it on all social media platforms. The police are already involved . You will not get away from stealing my watch and the other members wallets, and other items.

I'm honestly surprised by the reviews this Planet Fitness has received. For such a premium location, this Planet Fitness is the worst I've ever been and, due to the location of my job, I go here at least 2-3 days/week. This underground two floor gym offers all the same equipment you would expect from a Planet Fitness and they're in fine shape. Where this location falls short for me is the automosphere and general state of the facilities. The men's shower's are disgusting. Always dirty, hair everywhere, dark, dank, with broken shampoo dispensers in almost every shower stall. The men's locker room is in a state of disrepair. Many, maybe most, of the lockers have had their lock pad ripped off making them useless if you'd like to store anything safely. This gym is dimly lit. It can use some serious upgrades to the lighting. Since this gym is underground, natural light is obviously out of the question but why they didn't install better lightening is beyond me. Most walls and ceilings are dusty with discolored, chipped and/or peeling paint. Due to it's location, this gym should be a "premium" gym of their's. Unfortunately, it's far from. The gym by my apartment in Hells Kitchen is 100x nicer.

This is my home gym and I go there frequently. The staff is very friendly and courteous. I'm usually able to use the machines I want, but sometimes have to wait to use the dumbbells. The dumbells are more or less well organized but are missing some increments in the exercise area when i want lighter weights. (I rarely use that area now because I use heavier weights now, but it could be addressed.) The lockers could use some work. Many of them are broken. I don't come with any valuables other than my phone which I keep on me at all times, so it isn't an issue for me. My biggest complaint is that there is always rap on and never any other kind of music. I saw someone else complain about that too. Sure, I don't listen to rap, but I would think it makes sense to cater to a wide variety of people and change it up some of the time. To address some other complaints about the smell particular on the lower levels. My office is across the street. That smell is a problem with ALL the buildings on Broadway. Most of them were built before 1900. Perhaps the water table is too high. It's not a PF problem, but a problem in this part of downtown Manhattan, meaning much bigger than PF.

**Hopefully the owners see this review** Gym staff is great. GM is friendly and cares about cleanliness etc. staff also does an amazing job. Since new GM (Cam) took over Gym is 100x better. My criticism is that there is an entire floor or cardio equipment that even on the busiest day at the busiest time maybe 1/4 of it is being used. Meanwhile if you want an area to do kettle bells or calisthenics or full body workouts even just abs and stretches you have to literally squeeze into a tiny piece of dirty floor in a corner or by a closet or something. People are literally laying on the floor in the walking paths and u have to step over them because there is no space. Please remove some of the treadmills and climb machines. You could remove 1/2 of them and still have enough. And open the floor up to allow people space to do kettlebells/full body etc. also install a TRX stretching cage. These 2 things would improve the gym 10 fold easily. Otherwise great gym.

I joined the gym earlier this year and have seen so much changes... downsides; 1. They have been missing 3 lbs dumbbell on 1st underground floor for more than 2 months. Not sure how long it will take for a management to have enough money to get a new one. 2. The main clock just down the stairs when you walk down has been broken for over 3 months.. maybe it’s too big to fix it? 3. Restroom on main workout floor is extremely dirty. No cleaning scheduled to be seen. 4. Once I saw a death cockroach on the floor :/ 5. The staffs used to be lovely and helpful. But not sure what happened to them now they seem so tired and just unhappy to be at the front desk. Upsides; 1. You can’t beat the price. As cheap as $20/ month (black card member) so yes, I get what I paid for... 2. There are always machines to use and cleaning supplies available However, comparing to many other locations. This place urgently needs to be improved.

I have been trying to get answers about my bill charges for 3 weeks now. I was told to email a supervisor of this location, the front desk provided his email, no response. I called again and was told to email an area manager but she is out until December 2020 via a auto reply. I sent an email to the people in the autoreply email and still not one courtesy call or email. And the only reason why I have to email them is due to the front desk stating that they don't have access to "certain" information. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. I called corporate and it the same result. This is terrible customer service, I wonder if it would be this hard for other fitness organizations. Not to mention, the excuse is the Pandemic! So, why open the gyms if you "supposedly" don't have the manpower to handle your paid customers inquiries. Don't we deserve answers?

Letting the management know that with the broken AC system it stinks when you walk into the fitness center. It's simply super awful. The staff is very friendly, and the equipment is in good working condition. But, none of that matters when the conditions inside are so bad that no one come in. Like a number of guests complained, it literally fells like walking into hell with all the heat and stinky smell. Having a broken air circulation system after the covid is a big NO NO. Not only the guests but the staff could get sick as well given the current conditions. I feel for the staff working there. You can't give that "old building" as an excuse as this issue has been a known issue for as long as I can recall like early 2022. Stop coming up with the excuses and fix the broken AC, even if it means closing the facility to facilitate the maintenance.

This is the location I use because it's close to my job. The staff is far from helpful. They seem to be very unhappy with their jobs and it is felt when you approach with a question. I do agree with others when they wrote that it is very spacious in the locker rooms. However, the showers have so much mildew you have to be afraid to touch anything. If the gym is slow then the staff might be more helpful. If you don't have a question, then this will not affect you. Many of the equipment works but a lot don't. They wiggle while you are on them making it feel unsafe. If you need to watch tv in order to push yourself a little longer and harder GOOD LUCK because these units are so old many do not work, whether sound or picture. People tell me you get what you pay for but the service is so basic I don't get the point of the PF Black Card.

I’ve been coming to this location for the past few months. At first I thought it was great, but as time went on, it got worse and worse. The gym always smells bad, almost like it’s not cleaned. The grips on all the machines are never replaced and it doesn’t seem like the staff even notices (for example the pull up bar grip has been broken for almost two months). The free weights are never put back. I’ve never seen an staff person walk around the gym to see if anything needs cleaned. Finally, the bathrooms are disgusting. The showers are never clean and there are constantly things broken in them. Someone threw up in the bathroom and no one cleaned it up for several hours and it was probably from the homeless man that I found In the locker room. I understand that this gym isn’t expensive but I feel like these are basic items.

This PF is convenient, clean , and staff are super friendly and helpful . They also added new equipment , so it is definitely more enjoyable . My only issue would be the AC . Every time you walk in, it usually feels like a sauna . Sometimes downstairs is pretty cool , but upstairs Is where it’s the worse . I have not personally raised the issue to staff, but after being a member for sometime now, I’ve heard numerous complaints, and staff says they’re working on it . Just a few days ago, I heard an employee say to a member who asked when they were going to fix it , and the response was , “It’s an old building , that’s why.” Obviously the blame is not directed towards the staff, but I’m interested to know if there is anything actively being done about it ?

I’m not sure why this PF doesn’t have a 5-star rating. Staff are very friendly, location is huge and it’s never crowded, which is surprising to me because it’s the city. Only ever a handful of people in such a huge gym. Anyway, super clean, lots of machines, and great staff. Has a very different vibe than any of the other PFs though, which is pretty interesting, but not in a bad way. I actually love it. I only wish I lived closer. Awesome that they also have a individual restroom so I don't have to go all the way to the locker room just to use it. Very handicap-accessible which I also love to see because so many gyms aren’t. Keep up the amazing work guys. You’re making me pumped about self-care and fitness. Always such a joy.

Absolutely horrible management. I was charged a late fee for the first month i signed up after the employees put in my wrong banking info. I tried to contact the manager here to address it, it's been over 2 months now and no one has gotten back to me. I called the front desk multiple times throughout this ordeal & they will pass the message to the manager but i never heard from this so called manager named Victor. I also have been trying to email the district manager - Destiny Aponte, who has never responded to me. I tried to call Destiny but the phone number i obtained can't receive incoming calls. Now i have an additional late fee for 2nd month because of their mistake! Do yourself a favor and don't sign up here.

The location of this Planet Fitness is really convenient from the train. As many others have stated, it's not very crowded if you can get there before 5. It does get a bit crowded after 5, but I usually don't have a problem with accessing the machines or weights I need in a timely fashion. I like that there is a lot of space on either floor to get what you need, and the staff is friendly. My main critique is twofold: (1) the Women's locker room is kind of gross--one of the sinks is always clogged and the toilet seats are worn out and old and (2) it seems like there are always some of the same machines that are out of order. Most other locations I go to feel much cleaner and up-to-date than this location.

Attempted to work out here and was told to wait outside in the freezing cold (it was way below zero at the time), since the location did not open for 10 minutes. So, the logical decision that the two employees at the front desk came to was to sit there inside and watch as I froze outside! At least let me sit inside to wait. Completely inconsiderate. The employees lack the basic ability to empathize for others, and it’s not something as a customer I want to see. Canceled my membership. I hope planet fitness improves its customer service and replaces its front desk with humans or upgrades the models of their god damn robots at the front desk to include an improvement in logical decision-making.

Joined about a month ago. The gym does get extremely crowded around peak times (5.00-7.00 pm) but because it is such a big gym, it is able to accommodate most people. The smith rack that most people go to for bench/squat is almost 100% taken since there are only 3. The gym is very spacious and the airflow is particularly good on the 2nd floor, but smells terrible near the locker rooms. If you're like me and do mostly calisthenics, then Planet Fitness would be right for you. But if you are serious about strength training and getting your bench, squat, and deadlift numbers up, I suggest looking for another gym.

I arrived at this location to become a member. The gentleman seemed annoyed that I wanted to do that or his job, who knows. He proceeded to tell me I cannot start the process unless I had a debit card, credit card, account number, and ID with a know it all attitude. A bit extensive for a $20 gym membership, I work for a bank it was never that serious (I guess people without another card can join lol). I went to the Canal Street location they were able to assist me with my ID, debit card, and account information. Customer service was superior to what I witnessed here. FYI a credit card is not a requirement.

Overall a great planet fitness location with plenty of equipment and space. Ground floor/Entrance has has the front desk staff and this is where you would check in and request tokens for the massage chair or request the massage bed (black card members only). There are two more sub-levels, B1 has the cardio machines an express weights area, floor mats, tanning machine, massage chairs and beds. B2 is usually the smelliest floor... you'll see why when you get there, has the changing rooms, free weights and other weight machines. Staff is pretty friendly. Space is fairly clean and it gets the job done :)

It’s not bad enough to not return however it’s not my first pick at this location since they don’t have bar pads. Every time I come here asking for them even 3 days in a row they don’t have any nor do they know where any are and they somehow just believe they have them downstairs at the smith machines however they must know this is a lie since these bar pads are never at the front desk so if no one is ever returning them in 3 days in a row then u must know there are none. No need to lie to ppl but I guess they just want to sit around behind the desk than to actually offer any assistance.

Update one bench arrived still need two more Showers are broken little hot water. Mold on a vent in one of the shower stalls Some of the brand new TV’s are not working. Locker room benches broken or missing. Place is very dark. Quick update. Benches still missing going on 6 plus months. A/C not evenly distributed. One part of the floor working one part it was very hot I’ve brought these concerns to manager but keep getting pushed off. All I hear is the benches are on order. Showers still are not cleaned every day. Front end people nice Bottom line, you pay $10 you get $10 worth.

I came in and updated my credit card information 2 weeks in advance. For some reason on their end the card was not registered. They even verified that this was the situation. I was billed a late payment fee and was told that they would look into a reimbursement. I have attempted numerous times have a conversation with the manager Victor who has failed to call me back or send me an email. This place is highly unprofessional and poorly run. If someone in corporate reads this I would appreciate a call back. Because the staff here is not addressing anything.

This is a great gym, but only 3 stars because even during COVID there is no air circulation here. Easily solved with fans placed at the back of the gym pushing air around! owner need to solve this problem. Several months later and still no circulation. Please add some large stand up fans like other PFs have. Really no excuse for this level of stagnant air going into the summer month! Outstanding! the AC is operational! I see filters and techs working on the issue..This is why PF is the best gym in the nation, they care about their customers!

It's usually clean. A lot of times they run out of cleaning towels to wipe the machine. It's 90 degrees outside right now and as per usual the Air Conditioning is broken... Making it really hard to go in without feeling like your about to pass out. Yes it's in a basement. The equipment is old from at least 6-7 years ago. I've been coming to this gym for a very long time. I've visited other planet fitness gyms and the equipment is new and all have USB ports... These do not... Which sucks!!!!!!! Otherwise, it's a good gym.,

SHUT THE DOORS, NOT SAFE! This is the third time i've left my workout early because there is no compliance with mask wearing. More than half of the members have it below their nose or on their chin and no workers say anything unlike at other locations. If your a black card member i've tried the Canal st, Penn station, and 55th st locations which are all better with compliance, go to those. Also it seems like their ventilation system is broken in a lot of parts of the gym which im not sure if helps or hurts the situation.

I really enjoyed coming to this location until the recent change in hours. (No longer 24 hours) Honestly this was one of the main reasons I LOVED fidi. As a bartender in FIDI I try to stay healthy and this was the best way to get a work out in after a shift. I get out of work around 10:30-11:00, just enough time to be told they're closing. I know there are still other 24 hour locations, but this is very close to the SI ferry. Honestly I have little use for the membership any more if I can't use this location.

98 percent of the equipment is in good working order. The staff is mostly friendly and outgoing. I do wish that Lunk Alarm thing worked. My gripe is really with the members and the clubs inability to control their behavior. The loud phone conversations, slamming of weights, singing, dancing and inability to put weights back in their place is getting on my nerves. The locker rooms and tanning booths could be cleaner. I know it's the least expensive option, but less expensive and cheap are different concepts.

The only problems I have with them is the costumer service is the worst you.They charge you falsely. I haven't been to PLANET fitness for more than 4 years and since then I've trying to which the corporate office. Never gets help from $20 membership now they've change me 40 dollars. The four stars are for equipments. They're the worst of all. I wonder how many people they have rapoff like that. They don't care whether you're working or not. They don't people they're all about money.

Plusses: good price, convenient to both my office and apartment. Minuses: I don't see much in the way of staff on the floor (at least at the hours I'm there), the TVs on the cardio machines have often horrible, or no, reception (might seem minor, but anything that makes the time pass quicker is appreciated), and most important, the lack of air conditioning and air circulation is very noticeable. I understand "work up a sweat," but if I wanted to sauna, I'd sit in a sauna.

So are we just all going to pretend that this gym was not Crunch a decade ago? For which the normal single membership for cost $76.00 and best was $120.00 it makes me giggle that the price dropped so severely because of gyms like Planet Fitness. I bet those fat cats in corporate cried to sleep when people refused to go to their overpriced gym. Thanks PF for bringing them down to earth! u can get a membership for $9.95 at crunch now XD P.S.- they copied your tanning beds

I just joined the one at 25th Broadway. I used to be a member at the one at Union Square. I'm very happy 25th Broadway one has a lot more machines and space, however I am shocked at how dirty the bathroom was at Women's locker room. I was told that the one in the middle toilet was broken and always left disgustingly for a long time. Please have it fixed and keep women's bathroom clean and leave toilet paper in there. Otherwise it is a five star gym.

Went on a Thursday night. It's a bit cool outside but wouldn't consider it as too cold. Inside this planet fitness was super duper hot. It's like the heat is cranked up. It's so empty today but since it's so hot I'm sure no one wants to workout here. Staff is kind as usual. Please turn on the A/C people are trying to work out and stay cool while doing it. Parking is plentiful and easy after 8pm literally on the same block as this PF.

Only reason why they didn't get 5 stars was due to lack of customer guidance. They pick and choose who they want to show around and describe things to. I had to ask all questions as a black card member while the female that came in 1 minute after me got a proper tour and description of everything without having to ask. So aside from that 5 stars but ya getting a 4 this time around. Sorry about that but it's my honest opinion

Best PF in NYC and I've visited many locations throughout all boroughs. Clean, BIG, free WiFi & TV, great massage beds, tanning stations and lots and lots of space if you're an introvert and want an out of site spot to stretch and charge your phone. The customer service is superb and so much better than Equinox and NY Sports Club and they charge X4 more!! I am very happy with this location and their nice staff.

One of the best and cleanest planet fitness I've been to. Everyone goes their to workout no to pay attention to what others are doing . People are so kind there as well. I was locked from the shower after showering and one of the gym participants was nice enough to go out side and get me a locker room attendant to clip my lock. The amount of time it took to respond was less than 2 min.. Best gym ever.......

This place must be a bit** for the staff to clean because this place is HUGE for a PF in the city. All underground though, the basement level for cardio stuff and the subbasement for weights and lifting. I feel like its a vestige of a previous gym chain, not like any layout of PF I’ve seen. Always clean when I go. It’s way quiet when I go around 8 or 9pm. Staff friendly. Haven’t gone prime time though.

IT NEEDS MORE LOCKERS! i am tired of finding lockers. this place gets packed like crazy during rush hour, and there is no place for a locker unless you ask someone once they are done. it wastes time. But i love the equipment you guys have for all sorts of workouts! Could use a little more cleanliness in the locker rooms and especially the toilet. it gets really smelly in there.

I enjoy this location because it is quiet. My experience here has never been awkward at all. I always see someone cleaning the gym. Out of all the other planet fitness gyms I've been to, this is my favorite. People actually go to this location to Exercise. NOT to fiddle-faddle, flirt and be obnoxiously "ghetto" as in most of the PFs, waayyyy uptown -- i. e. Kingsbridge road PF.

The machines and free weights are in great shape and they gym is spaced beautifully. My only complaint is that they need to do a much better job at stocking towels and spray bottles. I've had to walk to a different area of the gym to grab paper towels and another area to grab a full spray bottle. It's annoying and it makes people much less likely to wipe down their equipment.

The gym has a very nasty musty smell. Can’t be healthy to breathe in when working out. I go to other locations that are pristine but this one not so much. Please put some fans around or air purifiers. Especially with covid you think more of an effort would have been made in this regard. Not to mention I saw them letting in what appeared to be a homeless person?? Seriously

Is big compare to the most of the PF gyms in NYC and i liked it but the stuff especially the lady who assisted me in frond desk she was soooooo mean this is the reason i m giving 1 star because i think stuff should be more knowledgeable on customers service since that's the only thing they anyway in the gym at least talk good. other then that the gym was nice

The lower level always smells like sewage. This review has been downgraded to one star because the showers rarely have hot water. The front desk staff look like a deer in headlights when you ask them to resolve. They often suggest that the customer speak with the maintenance crew or building management - I wonder if all that leg work comes with a discount..

One of the most cost effective fitness places in America. The black membership allows you to visit multiple clubs in the city/state/country. I always enjoy the one here in downtown. The staff at the desk is extremely courteous and always welcome you with a smile. The facility is not crowded at all and there is no wait line for an equipment or weights.

What's with the music? 24 hours rap? This is too much for the brain and soul. It is maybe okay for the muscles, but the brain and soul want other music without aggression and obscene words .. Where are the "additional benches" for those who want to chat on the phone while exercising on the equipment? We have to wait for them to relief the equipment.

Can't beat the price. There is a decent range of equipment and dumbbells. Don't expect to bench press, squat or deadlift with free weights, you'll have to use a Smith machine. My main complaint is it is so hot in here in the winter. I've almost canceled because of it but just keep hoping the heat will go off soon. I won't return next winter though.

My favorite location. I travel out of my way from the last stops of the Bronx train all the way down here for a good work out session. I can't tell you how clean and how respectful the staff is here. I love that it's not super crowded with hang out crowds like some gyms I've experienced this with around the Bronx and some parts of the 1 train line.

If you are in the financial district this is a very convenient location. The weights are downstairs, which is where I go. They had all of the equipment and some free weights, so it was a good experience. It was 2 p.m. and not crowded today, so I didn't need to wait. Upstairs they have many tread mills and Stair Masters. Two blocks from my job!

YOU HAVE TO BREATH TO EXERCISE!!!!!! This gym smells horrible! Not like sweaty people but like the WORSE women's restroom on the planet. Super fishy. Its unbearable! Could be a nice gym minus the smell! NO NEED FOR A LONG REVIEW. Just walk in and as you get halfway down the stairs, the smell will knock you out! TKO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first joined I didnt get a tour the staff member that helped me she was very rude and was not interested in the questions I had. People dont wipe down the machines so when I go I wipe before and after. But overall its a great location and its perfect and I love the fact PF is all over the place and open 24/7 except weekends.

If it wasn't for my boyfriend who brought me to this gym I would of never joined planet fitness. This is one of the best planet fitness in Manhattan I've been to alot and even with the a black card I rather go to this one . Yea it smells time because the customers aren't clean . The customer service is the best here too

Hey, you get what you pay for, a real dump of a gym. The only reason they get a sprinkle of members basically due to the cheap memberships. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Covid cleaning is practically nonexistent, and customer support is useless! Think twice before going to this roach infested gym!

It is in a good location, but the heater is so hot in winter/fall and the A/C is not good enough in summer. Please choose another location because you won't breath good here. Update: The A/C is working properly but the workers are lazy: no paper towels to clean machines and no coins to use massage chair

I totally disagree with the majority of members on this forum. The place smells bad, no air circulation and the treadmills are always out of order and the tv's are never working. I was a member for years before covid and would love to go back, but this location is horrible. I'd rather work out at home.

Staff is helpful, but the mens shower areas leave a lot to be desired. Last week there were cockroaches and filty hair in ne of the showe stalls...not nice! The TV's are not maintained well, many channels are down....excuses excuses!!! The variety of equipment is good.....hope they clean up their act!

Dirty, cockroaches are seen too often. Most of the TV channels have been broken for well over a year. Unfriendly front staff. I’ve alerted the general manager and corporate about the issues and have seen no change. Good thing is I am canceling my membership so I won’t have to deal with this anymore.

Like a ghost town! You wanna workout in a place no one comes to to get away from people, here is your place! Only issue is the ventilation is not great so it gets pretty hot in there. Also the downstairs where the weights are can get kinda smelly without proper airflow. Other than that, it's fine.

Good equipment's, polite staff. Only issue is the smell in lower floors. Based on comments seem like issue is due to AC but that may be incorrect. The issue is due to exposed sanitary drain or vent lines. This could be insulated or replaced upon testing & might mitigate the smell issue forever.

I was a regular at Gold’s Gym till I found these guys. This location is particularly good. The staff are extremely polite. The equivalent is top notch. Mostly Australian and Austrian equipment. Schwarzenegger frequents this chain! Should I say any more? They don’t like you tipping the staff.

Friendly staff. Very clean. Good selection of equipment. Not too crowded except during "rush hours". Exceptional value for money. The Crunch nearby is arguably better (bigger, more equipment, more classes etc.) but at 10x's the monthly price of Planet Fitness comes out looking darn good!

I love this planet fitness right in the heart of the financial district and wall street. It's so convenient and it's in a basement area but it's always very quiet and never crowded especially in the evening. The staff is pretty good and the place is well maintained and fairly clean.

I cant even imagine someone wanting to put this place down...Forget the price..Planet Fitness has a great recipe for the "Make it work" This particular P.F. down by the Bull is Well kept....Staff is nice and members are cordial and respectful..I dont know what else you'd want..

Amazing facility - plenty of cardio machines, smith machines, free weights, and workout machines. Better yet it’s split so that one floor is primarily cardio/stretching and the other is for weightlifting which helps when structuring one’s workout. Overall, highly recommend.

The front staff was unfriendly and not welcoming to me. Most of the time, there is friendly staff but not very enthusiastic. A gym should always have enthusiasm. I love this gym because it's seldom very busy, but the staff could be more engaging. Great location!!

I really like the one on wall st. It not over crowded at 6 am till bout 4 pm then after 4 the after work crowd comes in.. this specific gym makes u feel comfortable not like the other PFs.. it also clean n nice staff. One thing they NEED r the stair masters

Great location, quiet, clean especially if you're a visitor or tourist looking to get a quick workout in the Financial District ("FIDI")/ Wall Street location or if you're a local New Yorker and just want some more quiet settings in your exercise routine.

I have to be honest, this place deserves 5 stars compared to other PFs specifically when it comes to staff, cleanliness and crowd, I have been going there for over 4 months now and I stopped going to any other PF because there is big difference …

Cancelled my account 8 months ago and they still charge me saying I never canceled even though I have documentation of a “courtesy cancellation.” If I could I would rate this gym and planet fitness as a whole 0 out of 5. Do not go scam artist alert

Great place to burn some calories during lunch break. If you want to use the weight benches, tour better off during lunch or later in the evening. Right after work at 4:30pm, this place gets very busy and pretty smelly from everyone's sweat

One if the better franchises. Very spacious locker room. All of the lockers are big. The only negative: the locker room is always freezing all year around feels like it's below 30 degrees. Very difficult to shower with those temperatures.

I absolutely love this Planet Fitness gym! In my opinion, it is one of the best! It is spacious, clean and they have more than enough functioning fitness equipment for everyone to try. I highly recommend that you stop by for a workout!

I come all the way from afar to workout here! The place is clean, great lighting, the workers are pleasant, good natured, and professional. The clientele are excellent, upscale, and conscientious of others space. Two thumbs up for me!

Great gym, never crowded and equipment is rarely broken or "temporarily out of order." Only thing is the equipment wipe formula. Needs to be checked on for emptiness a little more often. Otherwise, the best gym in the City!

This is an ok gym - been to better tended PF locations. This one is in a basement so no natural light and kind of smells like bathroom throughout. Bathrooms are outdated and not in the nest shape. Could def use some help.

Came to this place thinking is cool nice since it’s Wall Street and the front desk receptionist horrible service mo help for me to be my first time !! Brought a lock broken from them didn’t get no refund!!! Just HORRIBLE

This location is not crowded and I get to have a great workout every morning. The staff is very professional and nice. This gym is clean and does not have a homeless people problem like other locations that I've visited.

I just walked out of there, Monday October 10th, and it was like walking out of giant oven. The so called black membership is good for nothing if can't use all the facilities due to poor maintenance... Disgusting.

Truly starting to regret joining location is not best run gym . No hot water in showers, no working clocks anywhere. Only 5 stationary bikes? It's a nice size gym and convenient location for me. But needs help

Planet robbery! Staff member told me I wouldn't pay any cancellation fees ! That was a lie and the managers excuse was he wasn't fully trained. I'm getting robbed monthly for a membership I don't want or use

The smell is terrible. Why all the gyms have that cheap fragrance smell? The restrooms are extremely dirty and funky. But I like their hours, some of the gyms open 24/7 which is very nice to late night guys

Planet Fitness as a chain is alright but the one that I go to in Downtown Manhattan on Wall Street is the best. The Staff is very helpful and courteous. The equipment is regularly replaced, and maintained.

It's well kept but the lower floor where the treadmills and elliptical machines are located the ventilation needs work. The lower level where the weightlifters work out always smells like rotten eggs

Great place with a lot of machines especially smith machines. Usually not busy till 5-6 P.M. Cardio space is especially large, usually empty. Would recommend to anyone living in lower Manhattan

Great gym Staff is friendly and always available if needed. I always go after work and it's never crowded. If you have the black card membership you will love the hydro bed and message chairs.

Great PF! Close to work. Stays open late. Rush hour is really packed in there but what gym isn’t. I wish the security on the lockers were better, that’s their only flaw- don’t buy their lock!

this gym is so nice, clean, and convenient for its area. the staff is better from what it was and its overall amazing. last but not least the kid with the nice braids and smile is amazing.

Great, inexpensive gym in FiDi. I do wish they had more free weights. However, for the price, I am happy with the machines (as well as the limited amount of free weights they do have).

Love PF. Great price. This PF is very nice compare to others since if is in FiDi. Only wish it was 24/7 for a few days, would of been easy 5 stars, since I love to work out at night.

This gym was nice very spacious clean machines has an elevator and wasn't crowded when i was there. But it's a little hidden amongst most planet fitness locations which I don't mind.

The gym is clean and the machines are in good condition. The locker room and showers are spacious and clean. The only downside is the cardio machine TV channels are limited.

Great experience at the Wall Street location. Plenty of machines and not too crowded at the time I went after 7 pm. Would go there again in a heartbeat!

Haven't went in a week i miss this place already will start fresh Monday. Great place to get in shape. Just always remember you get what you pay for

The gym is very clean and have plenty equipments to use for exercises and workouts. The staffs are great with customers service and very helpful.

Tanning machine N2 bulbs haven’t been changed for a while. Dangerous and unlawful. Talked to the management 2 weeks ago, still nothing is done.

Update 10/10/2022 - they recently upgraded and replace machines to better ones!! Staff continues to be amazing !! Definitely underrated PF

Great place for exercise. Open 24 hrs Monday to Friday..... Unfortunately for me it is no longer 24 hrs. I have to look for another gym.
