Like many others, this location has been defrauding me. In total they charged me 50% more than what my signed contract agrees to . Response from the club on other reviews citing fraud says to call the club . I did just that. (Tues Mar 28 5:53pm) I made the employee aware that the numbers on my contract did not match the numbers they were charging me. His response was to repeatedly tried to blame ME for not telling them sooner ( I just discovered this, actually) and refused to even try to rectify the situation . I I told him I needed a refund for the discrepancy between what I was charged and what was on my contract and it was very simple . Clear cut. He refused . His actual reply was "awesome" when I informed him that I would be taking this to court . I recorded the conversation and will be filing in Kings County. If anyone else wishes to file a civil investigative demand against this location free to contact me. It might take me a couple days to file, but then my contact info will be on the docket. Furthermore, at the time I signed up , the gym advertised being 24 hours. Days after I signed the agreement I was told by employees at this location that they would no longer be 24 hours and this "should have" been explained to me when I signed up .It was not. As it turns out they were already no longer 24 hours. This is a violation of the Lanham Act for deceptive guarantee / deceptive advertising . I am a member of two other gyms in the city and only joined Planet Fitness for the tanning and late hours. The one time I visited this location, the employees had no idea how the tanning beds even worked, one told me they were broken and had not worked for weeks. This is on top of the gym not being open for the hours they hooked me into a contract with . This place is horribly managed and the employees simply do not care, to the point that they will carry out a pattern of federal offenses against you , then blame it on you .
Some of the newer staff members I’ve seen here have been very polite and professional. They are just as polite and professional as the employees, pre-COVID. When it’s almost time to close, they go around and politely give everyone a heads up and sometimes turn off the music to give everyone a cue to finish up their workouts. If a customer is already in the middle of a set or is doing cardio they’ll at least let them finish their set or let them gradually lower their heart rate. The reason for my one star is because of the few bad apples here. I’ve dealt with the rudeness because I thought maybe they were understaffed but now that I notice there are other friendlier and professional employees here there is no excuse. One staff member in particular, Tarina, waited until closing tonight and walked up to people and rudely told them “we’re closed” at 7:01pm and proceeded to hover over us. There was no heads up a few minutes prior, either. I’ve even witnessed her in the past yell at a man who was finishing his set next to me telling him “the gym is closed that doesn’t mean to keep working out”. I shouldn’t have to feel like I’m going to be harassed if I’m not keeping track of the time on the weekends.

THE FRIDGERATOR WHERE THEY KEEP DRINKS WAS 90 PERCENT EMPTY NOT GOOD AT ALL , BUT HONESTLY I ALWAYS COME PREPARED BUT THE 2 TIMES I SPOKE ABOUT ASIDE, I WOULD COME BACK GOOD EXPERIENCE....
This gym itself is fine and actually one of the better PF locations, but if you need help with your membership for any reason, the associates lie to your face to provide "customer service" but it seems like they run on a quota/comission or something is off. I have a knee laceration that required ER visits and rest for months. I tried to pause my membership 2x once online (they never reached out to respond to me request) and in person on 9/1 at 5:18pm to pause my membership and they never processed it. I called them today as well and they can pretend to pass the issue to a manager. As a matter of fact, any time you talk to an associate they count it as a "check in" in the app even though you don't use the facilities. They continue to charge me and you cannot get the contact for the manager. They say there are no refunds or credits either eventhough I have attempted to make contact and received no real assistance. Bad business practices and sketchy. This location has a large black card lounge, relatively spacious, not too busy on weekends, and is nice location to run errands as well.
I absolutely LOVE being a black card PF member! Amazing gym. Amazing staff. The gym is always clean and the machines are always accessible. I love the fact that I can enjoy my workout routine without having to rush to another machine because someone is waiting. This location is not too crowded around 1pm-7pm. So this time is my own preference to workout! I love to tan. I love massages. I love to workout. I love to shower. Lol. All for $26 a month to become a black card PF member is BEYOND worth it! Dont miss out on this amazing deal! I'm so happy I joined last month. Best decision I made this far in 2022. Can't wait to rock my new XS sexy dress for my birthday in OCT. ❤ TY PF! I'm gonna have to change my 5 star review to a one star review for this location. I was informed by an employee with yellow box braids that I wasn't allowed into the gym because I was wearing my short rain boots and that they only allow sneakers, which is a lie. I have worn my rain boots here numerous times before and had no problem. She told me that she previously saw me wearing my rain boots while working out and that I could not wear them. But according to the FAQS, dress code doesn't allow anything that's "open toed, hazardous, rude or offensive." My rain boots don't apply to this! Also if she previously had a problem with me wearing them, why didn't she previously tell me about this? I come all the way from the Bronx to this location because I really liked it here but I might never come back to this one again. I'm so upset.
As someone who loves other PF locations, I am not a fan of this one. The gym has a super bizarre 3 floor split level layout with slippery floors, and the location/areas of different machines doesn't make any sense (terrible use of space). The weight area is packed to 100% capacity at any time of day, and they only have one of each popular machine so there's a lot of waiting for people just sitting on the one useful machine to get off of it. Instead of providing each patron with a spray bottle, one bottle is shared among 20 people, with paper towels available rarely. Water fountains do not work, locker rooms are rundown, and I honestly don't know what the employees who work here actually do. Note: if you have Verizon, you won't be able to stream music or access the internet on the lowest floor either.
These days it's tough for some to step outside and get back to the gym. This Planet Fitness is taking precaution and doing the things they should be doing to make members feel safe. Every other cardio machine is in use, there are multiple stations with cleaning solution and hand sanitizer readily available and to sanitize the equipment you just used, all members and staff must wear masks at all times, etc. Aside from the current day status, this gym has all of your basic needs to get a solid workout in for a great price and is separated into two levels - top, with windows and natural sunlight is all cardio and the downstairs is a mix of cardio machines, free weights, machines, benches, etc.
Overall friendly staff at the door that always greets you. It's nice. Clean, well-maintained gym. Some things that could be better: There's been some hardened pink stuff (some cleaning solution I hope) on the water fountain spout for over six months that no one has noticed or cleaned. Also no one noticed the clocks weren't the right time for more than a month after daylight savings time. So I finally reached up and set one to the correct time. In the Black Card member lounge they have 2 audio sources fighting each other, TV and music. Choose one. Either leave directions for TV volume or power control, or mute the TV, maybe leave it with captions, like bars do.
I left this location 4 years ago and began Active Duty Service in the Navy, so cancelled my account and have not been in NY since that time. For FOUR YEARS since then, despite numerous times that I have contacted them, I am charged EVERY month. Not only charged, but they continue to raise the charge. At the moment, I am being charged $55/mo. Four years of that, this is over $2,600 they have stolen from someone serving their country who has asked numerous times to cancel the membership, has not even been to the location in over four years. No refunds. No help. Disgusting practices with a complete disregard for its people. Go to a real gym that cares.
I cancelled my membership in July and just saw that I was still being charged. I had filled out the cancellation sheet at the desk and was told by the rep that I was all set and everything was electronic. I have since moved out of state so after calling the location three times I was finally able to speak with the manager, Crystal. She informed me that she didn't see my cancellation, gave me attitude, then placed me on hold and never came back. Avoid this place, the people at the desk are too busy screwing around with each other to make sure you're being taken care of. No surprise that this location has an "F" through the Better Business Bureau.
I’ve been coming here for two months and I joined to be able to do pull ups. Literally the assisted pull up machine has been broken for over a month and despite frequent requests it’s still not fixed. The girls bathroom had a weird slippery substance all over the floor which got on my shoes and me constantly wiping my shoes and using the spray provided and all, it still won’t come off. I fell while working out after it not coming off my shoes. The calves curl up and the abdominal machine is also broken for ages now. It’s exhausting
A staff member, Amayah, started yelling at everyone with sass 10 minutes before closing to tell them “the gym is closed!”. I felt dispensable as a customer and could not believe my ears. Everyone stood around and stared at her in disbelief because staff members generally don’t do this to us. This is a failure in customer service. Is this a new policy of theirs? Idk but if it is they need to communicate that to us formally. Overall the gym is pretty decent and the staff is usually friendly. Maybe Amayah couldn’t wait to get home?
Love this location ! I went to union square after COVID and the manager said I had an issue with my account but would not help me fix the issue which left me frustrated. I decided to try this location hoping they would help me, no sure if the woman help me was the manager ( a young woman ) she explain to me what the issue was and she spend no more then 5 minutes. Hope hire more people like her ; thank you. This location is clean and following the COVID standards strictly and keeping track of how many people enter the gym
This gym is great when you cannot work out every 2 days that works for me, the quality runs parallel to the Wall Street location for availability and sharing of the some machines, while sometimes it might be impossible to get to certain machines, Boerum comes through most times I'm here. One problem at Planet Fitness; the kids' program, if their goal is to later sign them up, they should have a program where their start time is after 2:30 Pm. I rated this high because of the team work of members and then from the staff.
Signed up for new member orientation for today at 8am. Show-up and am told they don't have any "classes' right now. I show the young lady at the desk the reminder email I received, and she advised that the person is late and no idea when they would be in. Horrible way to start a relationship. No apology, nothing. Will be canceling membership and off to Blink I go smh. My suggestion to management is properly staff your club.
I visited a couple of weeks ago and it was really disappointing. The stair master and other equipment was dirty and worn, the men's bathroom was filthy. The changing room was dingy and had a puddle of water in a corner where the wall was damaged. This place really needs a deep cleaning and some repairs. When I used to visit before the pandemic this place was always well maintained but it has clearly gone down recently.
I have my contract right here in front of me for a $25 a month black card , yet I just realized they have been charging me $60 a month for multiple months. I am cancelling my membership immediately , as this has been going on for 5 months and it seems others are in the same position of being defrauded , given the reviews . Do not give these criminals your info and check your statements for fraud !!!!!!
First time going to this planet fitness and was very pleased when I wanted to use the tanning booth you need to go to the Black Card Spa area and was surprised to see how nice it was you went thru the glass doors there was a seating area TV music on and you have your tanning booth and your other equipments in their separate from the gym. Really nice
It has 3 levels at this gym. It's clean and smells good. I just don't like the women's bathroom set up and the lockers are all small. It's not like the other Planet Fitness location that has a mixture of locker sizes. The black card membership spa room is beautiful and very comfortable. I would recommend visiting if you have the black membership.
The weight rack is always empty, like no one ever puts anything back not even the workers. Now that there’s 14-19 year olds coming in for their summer program, there’s never any space or weights anywhere. I just want to get my workout in and leave, I’m not there to hang out. I’m being generous with 3 stars because I like some of the staff there.
Walked into Boerum Hill location to potentially sign up and transfer from a competing gym but guy at front desk was so preoccupied with his phone that he didn't even look up and acknowledge me and I just stood there for a minute and walked myself around the gym and then walked out. What happened to customer service? Not likely to change now.
Egregious over-billing . I had to file numerous fraud charges with my card, as I signed up for a $25 a month plan and have been charged various amounts at random times throughout the month, but never once $25 each month. Charges are coming directly from this location, and judging by other reviews this is a pattern (of blatant racketeering)
Great place to workout but the men’s shower stalls are a health hazard. This is by far the worst planet fitness I’ve been to. They use to do a good job keeping the locker room and shower area clean. It’s just horrible now. Mold on the soap dispensers, shower curtains and walls. Smh! It’s a shame because the gym area is awesome.
I hate to give this place one star, but not sure what else to do until they replace the 20 lb dumbbells that have been missing for months (look at other reviews from months ago). I’ve asked the staff to replace them and it just never happens. I suggest other members leave similar reviews until this issue gets resolved.
This location recently opened and all the equipment is new and in excellent condition. The few times I've been there it wasn't too crowded. All the cardio machines have their own TVs. It may not be an issue for most people but because I usually work out during lunch, I didn't like that there were no full size lockers.
The best planet fitness I’ve tested in the entire city. I used to go to the one in 170th street in the Bronx, but after seeing the clean and spacious it is… I ain’t going back (and I live in the Bronx though). Extra mentions: the environment is key in development. The staff has been awesome with me at least.
I like this one for the warm and calm environment. Staff members are very friendly and professional. All machines are intact. The environment on a whole is very welcoming but there are times when it needs tidying. The bathrooms in particular needs attention at times. But I really enjoy working out here.
Gym looks ok, but everyone knows how important it is to hydrate. The fridge was empty when I got there and that is honestly alarming for a gym. No protein shakes, no water, nothing. Some of their treadmills were not working, they should honestly consider putting a sign on it to let customers know.
Accommodating team, Clean facility. The gym goers were also very kind and supportive they live up to “no judgment” Philosophy imo. Both the staff and gym members 0 complaints for this location. The machines are also incredibly well maintained (went to Nirvana and back on the aqua massage bed).
Disgusting showers. They never clean their showers. Covered in mold. There is a metal washer left over in one of the stalls they fixed that has been there day after day so you can tell it’s never even been wiped down once. Edit: I have asked if the showers could be cleaned! They never are.
Very clean, with plenty of sanitizer spray and hand sanitizer spread out throughout the gym. All patrons were wearing masks and the locker room was very clean and I also noticed that the staff was making rounds on the gym floor. Staff was also very polite at the check in counter.
The duplex location is large so even when there are a lot of people in attendance, it still feels like you can social distance from others + there are lots of weights/machines on both levels so there are plenty of options to accomplish your workout routine.

A few months ago, I wrote a review as to the cleanliness, or lack there of, of the ladies locker and bathrooms. I was very pleased to see an immediate change. The non-flushing toilets worked, cleaning was done, toilet paper didn't run out.
I have been in the gym multiple times for the past 2 months to cancel my membership and they claim my membership hasn’t “synced to their gym” because I signed up online. I am being charged every month even though I no longer want to belong

It's decent. The staff is friendly. It's clean enough. Nice members. Equipment gets fixed in an adequate amount of time. They need to buy more 45 lb weights for smith and leg press machines. Other than that it's certainly a bargain.
Nice place depending on the time you go. women's lockers need to be cleaned so the mildew smell would be down and the men hog most of the workout for Abs on the 2nd flr. overall, its a nice place to workout when its not crowded.
When I go for 7am, it's barely anyone there. I get to use all the machines with no ease. The front desk greets and says good bye every time and they come around rountainly cleaning the machine. It's a good place to work out
I signed up for a $25 a month plan and never once have I been charged $25 . Each month it has been $40 , and there have been double charges, extra charges . I double checked my contract and this is ALL WRONG. Fraud .
The gym was very nice and clean. They have an amazing view. Also the staff was very attentive which was amazing. Very good location. There was a little bit of mold in the showers which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.
This gym is my new favorite place to workout, it's very spacious with lots of machines and exercise equipment, but some of the staff can be petty a say things under they're breath thinking you can't hear.

Awesome friendly staff! The locker room is so well maintained, the whole gym is very clean; the equipment is new. Loved this PF and will always go there whenever I'm in Brooklyn.
I like that the gym is always clean and never busy... the only thing i have a problem with is the hydromassage machines are always broken but other then that i love this gym..
