The wait on food was way too long, the quality is not up to par. I watched one of the cooks (a lady with black hair) ask customers to buy her drinks. The new girl is very rude, and has no idea what she is doing. Her and the kitchen staff are always outside smoking weed, they smell of it, and I have on occassion seen this myself. One time i went outside for a smoke and the girl came running out thinking that I was leaving without paying my bill, she let me know that when someone walks out they are made pay for it. AGAINST THE LAW!! So not only is some of the staff questionable but so is the management. And the amount of drug use in this bar is also disgusting. Which would fall under the bouncer duty. If you ever go on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday you will see the pathetic excuse of a "bouncer" sitting with the customers, eye glued on his phone or no where to be found. This use to be one of my favorite places to go. Prices are still very good and some staff is still awesome. Monday and Tuesday day girl is awesome always happy go lucky. The team duo on Fridays is great. I watched these two girls work together and its nice to see there is team work in what they do.

This is one of the secret gems on the northside of Edmonton. Once known as the hangout place of the Candyman (MIA), it is also known for excellent wings and tacos, and for a decent happy hour beer specials. The outside entrance is ramshackle and grim, but as you enter, the mood is warm and inviting. The servers are pretty good and regularly check on patrons. The food is excellent for pub food, and the music played in the background is fine and at a comfortable volume. There are dartboards for those of you who enjoy a game of darts. Also TVs set around the pub if you want to watch a game. It is unknown whether or not Playback Pub will jack of their prices on drinks and food like many pubs have already done, so let's hope they keep the prices the same.

This place is good for the free pool and cheap drinks but after being there for an hour it reminded me of that bar recovery show. The bartender is playing on her phone and not even watching the bar, the bartender put on 10 songs in a row of hardcore hamster rap I can see 1 or 2 but after about the fifth song people started leaving for obvious reasons after her 10 songs someone else had some lined up after their second song she shouted I f***ing hate this music and turned it down she even skipped a couple of their songs there was a lot more but I think u get the point the staff are not there to serve you or make sure you have a good time they are their to hang out and get paid for it I would NOT recommend this bar

My boyfriend and I felt very uneasy going into this bar. We went in and he ordered a beer but there were patrons extremely intoxicated trying to fight each other and egg on other innocent customers. There was a sloozy woman yelling around if men wanted to "mow her lawn", this experience made us very disgusted with the establishment and we will not be returning here. 0/10 would not recommend to anyone.

I am very disappointed in the new owner. He sat and stared at me and other patrons he is a creep. We've been coming here for 15 years but will not be coming. The other owner's were excellent and it was a very great atmosphere not anymore. My husband and I will not be returning. This guy is going to run the place into the ground.

Sat at a table and after ordering food the waitress was more concerned with flirting with the drunks at the bar rather than serving us. The one time she did actually go around she served two other tables and ignored ours. Won't be back and nor will my friends.

I miss all of the old staff that used to work here. I used to come by on a daily basis when my boyfriend was the cook. Hell, we both came a lot before that too. It was always a good time. Hosted several of my birthdays here. But it's just not the same anymore.

Service was good but we came there to eat as their platter is really good. The server informed us the cook just left and wouldn't be back till 6 or maybe 7.... it was 5pm. So we left dissapointed

Best beer prices North of the Yellowhead. Great place to stop in for hang-over breakfast on the weekend. Kinda dimly lit inside but that only serves to spare your bleeding retinal sockets lol

Great food!! fast service! The atmosphere is kind of cold nothing a good paint job and "pub" lighting & posters wouldnt fix. The excellent staff make up for any negatives.

Playback is a great pub, well managed and positive environnement makes being there more enjoyable than other pubs in the same neighborhood.

Little hole in the wall bar on the north side, staff is all friendly and they have good deep fried bar food..always have fun when i go!

Only time that place has clientele is during the day shift when Angela works she is amazing and that's why people go there.
