"Very well organised and enjoyable"
"Lovely activity! Not the most picturesque back drop for a boat ride but our captain Tony gave a good commentary about our surroundings and the ships graveyard was very cool! Let’s face it-the main reason most of us are on this cruise is to see dolphins"
"A magnificent afternoon"
"5 star experience if the dolphins had shown themselves but hey there wild"
"Beautiful morning on the water"
Very well organised and enjoyable. It was easy to book online ahead of time and you can see how many places there are left on the boat. We were given complimentary drinks of water or soft drinks and the children were given activity packs which were really good for keeping them occupied at the times when they got a bit bored. There were also more drinks available to purchase. The boat is very good with very comfortable seats and tray tables. There are some seats up above available as well. There is a toilet available on board. The commentary was very good and there are screens with slides showing photos and information as well. It was a great cruise and will definitely be an activity we will consider again when we next have interstate or overseas guests.
Lovely activity! Not the most picturesque back drop for a boat ride but our captain Tony gave a good commentary about our surroundings and the ships graveyard was very cool! Let’s face it-the main reason most of us are on this cruise is to see dolphins. I hate to break it to you, but you are not guaranteed to see them. The river is quite wide and there are lots of places the dolphins might be, and most of them are not near the boat. We were lucky enough to see the dolphins right at the start of our trip which was amazing. Overall a good tour and worth doing, even if you don’t see the dolphins! It was nice to see a different part of Adelaide out of the city.
A magnificent afternoon. Beautiful to be out on the water. A very comfortable boat. Seats 16 I think, 2x2. Can stand outside on the bow if you like. The ship graveyard is amazing to see. We booked at low tide and saw a lot of the old wrecks. Cam was a charming host and captain. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He did his utmost to find some dolphins and we thought that we were not going to see any when a little one popped up right near the dock. All onboard were mesmerised. Cam assisted a passenger with a walking frame and one with a wheelchair. A gentleman. I absolutely recommend that if you are in Adelaide, be sure to make time for this cruise
5 star experience if the dolphins had shown themselves but hey there wild. Aside from dolphins Luke our coxswain and host was so informative with the history of the wrecks visited and the day to day of the Adelaide harbour that our tour did not need dolphins as a high light. If you are a history buff or you just like all things nautical this tour is a good 90 minute's well spent, just don't promise the kids or the better half they will see dolphins as they are their own keepers. Thanks again Luke for an enjoyable afternoon on the water.
Beautiful morning on the water. We picked our cruise based on the tide table to make sure we could see as much of the ship graveyard as possible. Cam was an engaging and entertaining guide for locals and interstate visitors alike. We were delighted to see a family of three dolphins including a baby and to observe their behaviour from a safe distance. I am local and will absolutely be back and bring my visitors to see the Port River, ship graveyard and dolphins with Port River Cruises.
Enjoyed a wonderful eye-opening voyage with Port River Cruises. The boat was spotlessly clean (especially the Mr Sheen(ed) windows, Cameron (the Captain) amazingly full of knowledge and with a welcoming manner that set the tone for a pleasant afternoon. We found out lots of interesting and surprising things about the Port River - from ship graveyards to historical boats with the bonus of frequent sitings of the Port's dolphins. We highly recommend this trip!!!
The whole experience of the trip along the Port River was highlighted by Skipper Luke's entertaining and educational dialogue. Passengers gave their input too and altogether it was an enjoyable and worthwhile outing. Luke's obvious delight in all things nautical, especially Sperm Whales, was gripping. No dolphins appeared but we all seemed content on what was offered - the discovery of our Pt Adelaide's river. Thank you Luke.
I took my daughters out to the Port, not really sure what we were going to do. We walked past the booking booth and the lovely lady was so kind and friendly, she won me over and I booked a tour. The tour was great. Full of interesting and fun facts about the local area and the “graveyard ships”. We didn’t see any dolphins, but I would definitely do this again :) It was a beautiful day out on the water regardless :)
The operators of the tour I went on were awesome. Cam & Ian were very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw quite a few dolphins and birds, however it was disappointing that we couldn't really see most of the boats in the graveyard due to high tide. Understandably out of their control, but it was not disclosed before I booked, I would have probably booked at a different time instead had I known.
A relaxing and fun way to experience part of Port Adelaide not usually seen. The tour provides an overview of port history and industry, the ship graveyard and, if you’re lucky, some happy dolphins checking you out. The crew were helpful and friendly and, with fewer than 20 on board, it is easy to move around and view the scenery.
Such an amazing experience, Cam really knew his boats and history, very informative. We got lucky and saw some dolphins near the very end of our cruise, even saw them jumping out of the water, I would recommend going on low tide like we did so you get the best experience of boat graveyard viewing. 5/5 would recommend
This was a fun and informative experience with Ben. You will learn a bit about the history of the Port, Adelaide and the ships sitting at the graveyard. If you're lucky you might also spot dolphins along the way. Ben is a funny lad that might crack a couple of dad jokes and his cruise is clean and comfortable.
Excellent trip out, nice boat, good skippers and knowledgeable guides. We were not able to get close to the ships graveyard due to an exceptionally high tide but we did see a good sized pod of dolphins and learned a lot about the area and the local environment. Thanks Tony and John, a memorable trip.
Lovely friendly staff that are very accommodating for families. They let me leave my pram in a secure spot and gave us complimentary bottled water. It was a lovely morning for a cruise and I enjoyed learning about the ships. Although we didn't see any dolphins it was still a great day! Thank you.
A huge thank you to Cameron and Port River Cruises. Although this morning was cold, the adventure wasn't. The Dolphin Sanctuary was amazing with us being able to see a pod of at least 7 dolphins. Cameron shared his knowledge of the port and kept my 8 year old entertained. Well worth the money.
A beautiful and peaceful cruise! It was fascinating seeing real shipwrecks and listening to their stories! Saw many dolphins (that seem to accompany us!) but I never got a good picture! They are tricky! Lol The crew couldn’t be nicer! the Maritime Museum was well done with amazing stories.
Cam was fantastic in explaining the history behind the ship wrecks, with in-depth knowledge of dolphins and yes we saw many of them. Thanks for great sense of humour and all the best for many more tours. We will definitely recommend port river cruises to our friends and family.
This is fantastic! My son was a bit nervous about boats but the hosts were amazing with him and the boat ride is very calm. We absolutely loved seeing the ship graveyard and the dolphins and we learned heaps. My son wants to go again! A perfect afternoon. Highly recommend.
A fantastic tour, so interesting and informative about the River and Port history. Cam is a great skipper, friendly and welcoming. He went out of his way to find amazing dolphins for us, what a fantastic experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it.
The trip was super cool and very informative! Cameron and his team were all very friendly and the dolphins and ships were an awesome site to see! Perfect for passengers of any age! I definitely recommend this as an activity to do on a nice sunny day!
My experience with Port River Cruises was fantastic! Ben, the tour guide, added a delightful touch with his humor and entertaining dad jokes. His knowledge about dolphins and the ships in and around the port was impressive and informative.
Went on the shipwreck tour, operator was very knowledgeable, and friendly, boat was clean, everyone enjoyed the trip my only grip would be that the seats are a bit low for shorter people and at times I felt I was straining to see out.
Was able to see dolphins straight away, good, informative and interesting cruise, tour guide was relaxed. Downside is there is no coffee on cruise and everything nearby was closed, no free parking, 2hr offsite parking available.
Friendly staff, Cameron led 90 mins return trip from Port Adelaide to dolphine sanctuary. Even though we couldn't see dolphins, it was enjoyable time on boat to learn some history about Port Adelaide. I highly recommended.
We had such a great time today on our Cruise. And learnt quiet a bit, we didn't realise how many ships were actually in the graveyard. And getting to see the dolphins up close was perfect. Luke was great …
Great cruise very informative for information regarding the area and the old ship wrecks.would need to be there on the right day to see any dolphins. Very relaxing just sitting back and enjoying the scenery.
Went with family for an afternoon cruise, great weather, not many dolphins but a few to delight onlookers. Interesting wrecks and commentary, altogether a great way to spend time in the Port.
Did shipwreck and dolphin cruise. Was informative and we did actually see dolphins. But don't expect too much in the dolphin area as you may not see them and if you do it may only be briefly
What a fantastic tour! I highly recommend this to anyone who has a curiosity of shipwrecks, general history and wildlife. My mother, who is 85, had no trouble boarding and disembarking.
The cruise was fantastic. It was so peaceful and scenic. Cam, the host was also very knowledgeable and patient with my two kids 5 and 2 years old and their questions. Great experience.
Thanks to Cam and Steve for a very enjoyable cruise - lots of interesting info delivered with good humour, and an expert eye to spot the dolphins! Would definitely recommend.
Lovely ride, staff were fabulous and the commentary by Cameron was perfect - just the right amount of info to be interesting but not over the top. Excellent morning!
I enjoy listening about Karuna Cultural History with Port River Cruise. I learn new things. Very interested. Good spirits. I enjoy relax 2 hours cruise this noon.
Absolutely LOVED it and I’m really glad we saw dolphins and they were really cool. Cris and steve were really helpful and cooperative. One of the best trips yet
Lovely cruise exploring the Port River, Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary and the Ships Graveyard. Interesting to see and learn about the history of the area.
Had a great day out thanks to Cameron, Steve and Port River Cruises. Saw a few dolphin fins and listened to a very informative and amusing commentary.
We had a fabulous time with Ben and Cameron on the Port River cruises today. They were very informative and very friendly. Great with kids too! Thanks
we had a very enjoyable morning on the river, our guide was very informative and interesting. We will certainly recommend this tour to our friends.
Went to the area to visit ,primarily, the Dolphin sanctuary. This turned out to be a large area of the port itself with no designated premises.
Excellent tour! The shipwrecks are interesting as is the general info and history of the area. And we saw dolphins! Totally recommended. …
Great staff with great history and local knowledge. Waa the best accidental surprise tour we found! Highly reccomend
Very friendly staff and a great experience. We all enjoyed it very much. It would be 5 stars if we saw dolphins.
90 minute dolphin and wreck cruise. Very relaxed tour along the river with a friendly guide/driver who was
Our guide was pleasant & very knowledgeable about the river. We really enjoyed our cruise, & learned a lot.
Just went this weekend for a birthday celebration. Love day and friendly relaxed crew. Would recommend!
We had a beautiful day on the cruise! Managed to see a mum and bubs which was beautiful! :)
Very informative cruise (we took the dolphin and ship graveyard one). Tad expensive tho.
