Still getting over the death of my dog which I ended up taking to another vet to be treated and subsequently put to sleep just a few days after this one. I can't help but feel my concerns and opinions were not listened to or taken seriously. I even called the next day after our initial consult and expressed further concerns about my dog and asked about other action or approaches as a feared something was very wrong but no further suggestions were made by Dr Kevin. I saw a new vet and discovered my dog had aggressive, and inoperable lymphoma. A asked my new vet to request the vet history from Port Road to do a comparison of the bloods and the information was not sent accurately. Poor and evasive. Further to your response below- that is untrue. Still not happy with my dogs condition the following day, I phoned your clinic with further information and concerns and asked if we needed to change the course of treatment YOU declined not me. And in regards to forwarding the history, my new vet called and requested it twice before I called myself as I considered the matter urgent. After two phone calls from the requesting vet- if your policy is to get permission from me first- perhaps you should have called me instead of waiting for me to call you. And the blood results from a few months earlier were what was of interest and they were not sent. Ever. Just commentary about the bloods.

I took my dog to this vet after he had been off his food for one day, and had vomitted once. They felt his tummy, told me to give him chicken and rice, said they had an injection usually but were out of stock of it that morning, prescribed an antibiotic, and sent him home. On the way out I remembered to ask about a chronic problem he has with his leg, but the vet had already left to have a coffee or something - so couldn't come back out.... Later that night my dog started vomiting a pooing blood... and a week of horror started. I never took him back to Port Road vet because I have never considered $111 more poorly spent than to have ABSOLUTELY ZERO preparation or advice about what was potentially coming up for him. I later had to call three other vets who were open later that night - and eventually found I could trust the care at Fullham Gardens, where he ended up on a drip to help him survive an illness of a still unknown cause... I don't doubt it is hard to know exactly what is going on for an animal, but in this case, they said they thought it was gastro. They just left me completely unprepared for what was coming up... and to show absolutely ZERO interest in my dog.... I couldn't say anything worse about a vet. I wouldn't ever go there again.

What a wonderful vet practice. The staff are great with pets and owners alike. Booking appointments is easy (online! or over the phone). Consultations (that I’ve had so far) are handled expertly with care and attention. The vets (Both Dr Kevin and Dr Emma ) are obviously passionate about what they do and dedicated to the animals they serve – so much so that I received an unexpected follow up phone call two days after my appointment to check that my dog was doing well. I brought in my (recently adopted) dog in as I felt something just wasn’t right. As a newish dog owner the vet was very patient with me and answered all of my many questions. Turns out my new pooch was having an allergic reaction. They were thorough and kept me informed about my choices and best course of action. In addition, everyone at Port Road Vet is so friendly and caring, that it is genuinely a pleasure to see them whether I am bringing in my dog for a vet visit or advice or just buying food/treats/treatment or a new toy. The Port Road Vet is very clean and bright. It was such an easy experience. They have earned a customer for life and would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality and affordable care.

Original review: Dr Laurie is amazing. And they sent us welcome letters with pictures of our little monsters. Was really impressed. Update on July 8: We've also worked with Kevin with our two feral rescue babies, and he was amazing (they were actual ferals rescued from am abandoned building, and we're malnourished, had eye issues, fleas, worms and basically everything you'd expect from a feral 6 week old kitten. We also had Dr Kevin pop out to our house and put down our much love 18 year old girl Jezzabella at hours notice. He and the Nurse were lovely and respectful the entire time. Recently, our cat Pomey had a back injury which left him blocked (this can be serious enough to require euthanasia). He had a two night stay at the vet, and was happy, calm, and pain free each time we saw him - Dr Emma and Dr Blake were also brilliant We cannot thank Maddie, Kevin, Emma, Deb, Sandra, Danni, Jesse, Stephanie, Blake

Stopped to help a cat that had just been hit but sadly passed away whilst I was with it. As it might have been someone's beloved pet I took the time and trouble to leave it at a vets in the hope that it may have been chipped and it's owner could be notified. The vets was closed and left the cat at the the rear of the premises so it could be scanned. Contacted the vet today to see if he had been chipped and basically got scolded for leaving the cat there. Absolutely disgusting, any animal that is fighting for its life in the middle of the road deserves at least to be taken to a vet so that the owner may know what happened to his/her pet. RIP cat, sorry I left you with such snotty staff.

I would enthusiastically recommend Port Road Vet Clinic to anyone and everyone. All staff members are involved and aware of your pet's care plan. They have amazing excellence service, provide quality treatment and give utmost attention to your pet. I am so beyond please with how my Milly bear, my cat, was treated that I will never go anywhere else! Thank you team for getting her back to good health, as for awhile there she was quite unwell. Not once did I feel like she wasn't in good hands when being hospitalised for 48 hours. Our oriental kitten has been seeing Blake at Port Rd Vet Clinic for a few months. My partner and I are very happy with Blake's level of knowledge, care and professionalism. Blake is always very thorough and takes the time to explain everything so we can properly understand how to best look after our kitten. He has gone out of his way to do further research and call us outside of appointment time to help with the diagnosis and treatment of a disorder our kitten has recently developed. We are so pleased with our choice of vet and feel confident that our kitten is getting the best care possible.

My elderly dog and I have been fortunate to have been guided through her last years by Drs. Laurie Daube and Kevin Murnane at this practice. We came across this clinic by accident when she was still in her prime, and there was an instance in the past when it was Laurie's foresight and 'sixth sense' that saved her life. Dr Murnane is Laurie's successor, he is the new principal and he inherited us for the last months of Molly's life. Both are outstanding individuals, and you will find a great deal of competence and compassion in this practice, and you will find both in abundance.

My 13 yr old senior girl is treated like royalty by all of the lovely staff here. She can’t wait to see Dr Emma for her check ups. I love my old girl and I love how the staff treat her. She especially loves the belly rubs and of course the treats. From the wonderful Receptionists to the Nurses and Vets my pets and myself are treated with the upmost respect. Every staff member has had a role in my pets health and I always receive the most up to date information. You can really feel the love in this clinic and I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.

Dr Blake was very considerate, calm, gentle and thorough during the consult for my cat - Coconut. The vet nurse Danni was friendly and lovely. I can't speak on behalf of Coconut but I find Port Road Vet offered the most sincere and excellent experience to pet owners and their fur babies compared to other vets I have been to. I really appreciate all the little gestures made by them such as follow-up phone call in the afternoon of the visit or the little welcome card in the mailbox a week after the visit.

Laurie has been my "babies" vet for over 20 years. His knowledge, caring & kind manner are wonderful. He & the other lovely staff, have helped me through many illnesses & passing of my precious "babies". Several times, Laurie has gone above & beyond his practice to help me at home. Laurie is the best vet in Adelaide. Very caring and goes above and beyond. Not one to over treat/over medicate. He discusses options and has experts to whom he can refer for specialist services. He has a lifetime of experience and has trained others. I've had 5 pets in his care in the 20 years I've gone to this clinic. Can't praise Laurie and the clinic staff enough.

It's been a little while but we had to say goodbye to out little girl Tina she was 10 years old due to her illness. The staff where so lovely towards me and my partner and understanding of our grief of our little girl she was 6weeks old when we took her there when Laurie was there, Rest in Peace little Tina most of all thank you to all the staff.

Amazing to see the wondering changes happening at Port Road Vet and VERY happy that the same personal service is still there.We have many Fur babies that are looked after so well with the wonderful care given by the vets and attentive nursing staff. Kevin's perseverance to finding a solution to my Dog's skin issues is reassuring.

Very poor service had a very sick cat initial appointment went fine. Follow up was very poor. They made another appointment and when I took cat back fobbed me off said there was no appointment when I had a card with time. Sent me home with cat who got very ilI nearly had him put down. I wouldn’t recommend this vet to anyone

Had the best experience with Dr Kevin and Jessie. They accommodated my request for a last minute appointment on a Saturday due to Tao my cat being very unwell. Dr Kevin listened to Tao's history and my concerns carefully and offered sound advice without any pressure. Thank you Port Road Vet Clinic ❤

Kevin and his staff are very friendly and helpful... our 10 year old cavalier Levi was diagnosed last year with diabetes... his diet is under control now.. he's happy and healthy... my daughter recently took her puppy to "puppy school". Lovely Emma had lots of tips and advice for them...
