A bit of a hidden gem. Much more affordable and accessible than the major theatre centres. Plays are small off-the- beaten-path productions with few misses. Production standards are top-notch. Venue itself is intimate with great sightlines. Lobby service is pleasant and you can take your drink in to a performance. A plus is that subscribers get free underground parking in building. I've attended for a decade now and recommend PTE whether for single plays or seasonal subscription.
Very intimate setup. Very well acted, funny, and fast moving play. Challenge to keep up to various undercurrents associated with a wedding in which the family of the well off groom collides with the not so well off family of the bride. In the end both families are changed. The good and bad traits of humanity are exposed. Economic status in the end doesn't change humanity much. Well worth seeing!
Just saw Feast, the first production of the 2023 season…. And I’m blown away by how amazing it was!!! From the story, to the acting, to the ingenious production of such a meaningful story it was truly a feast for the senses. It is a production that had a profound impact on me and captivated me non stop for two hours. It will linger in my mind, heart and soul for some time come.
Great selection of contemporary plays promoting inclusiveness and diversity. All seats are very good as it is a pretty intimate theatre. Subscribers get free parking meanwhile casual ticket buyers get a discounted rate on Jets game nights. If you want to grab a drink or snack, make sure to bring some cash with you. There are also ATMs just outside of the theatre.
Fun day but not a very long show. Underground parking was nice but not the safest place, lots of drunk crazy people in the elevators and hanging around the lobby at Portage Place. Not really something that young kids need to be exposed too. Unfortunate that this is not dealt with more by security.
A great theatre inside Portage Place mall. Parking is underground and easily accessible. There are not many pay stations so you may need to wait a few minutes to pay for parking. Season ticket subscribers get a discount on parking. Highly recommend this local theatre!
Good parking under portage place mall. Elevators escalators and stairs to the venue. Nice seating area outside the theatres for some pre or post show drinks. Small theatre so all seats give a good view. The play I saw Butcher, was excellent.
Great place to enjoy performing arts. Intimate venue with a variety of plays that are thought provoking and entertaining. I have been a season ticket holder for a few years and will definitely be renewing again.
Great venue, seays are good. Not a bad viewing seat in the theater. Wrap around seating, provides a different dimension of watching theatre. Good Fringe venue. Considering tickets for fall winter productions.
Attended PTE to see Mom's the Word:1/2 empty nest. It was hysterical. My face hurts from laughing. As we've come to expect from PTE, it was a wonderful, intimate theatre experience.
Great venue for its size. It is U shaped. I would suggest you get a seat on the front rather the sides for a better view. You can park inside the building for a reasonable price.
I went to see "To Kill a Mockingbird" and it was excellent and the actors did a great job portraying all the characters..Great atmosphere and reasonably priced!
We take our kids to go see the yearly Robert Munsch show. Every year it is fantastic. The performers really get into it and all the kids in the theater love it.
Love this place! A great place to catch an entertaining show. I went to the school here a couple times and I loved it. Great people and great friends.
Beloved and intimate theatre-in-the-almost-round! Imaginative productions, thought-provoking and emotionally involving.
Great live theater, excellent site lines, close to the stage. Free parking for season ticket holders.
Seats were uncomfortable but overall the space was pretty good for a hair product launch!
Wonderful theatre space -,great play, still thinking about the subject matter days later!
The play was excellent. The stories were real life issues and the actors were great.
I love this theatre. Comfortable, intimate... So many excellent shows and memories.
Love how close you feel to the stage. Great variety of shows with a local flavour.
I really like the size and location of the theater as well as the atmosphere.
The Robert Munch plays are always popular with the kids. Very nice theatre.
Great show, all seats are fabulous, love going there. Highly recommend!
We go there so our child can take a class. The student lounge is nice.
Small local theatre. Good performances. Clean. Family friendly..
