I'd have to give the store three star. Overall experience is normally a great one. I know some of you find that the store often advertised items on sale but don't have stock. Yes this is unfortunate, but the flyer are not created for one location. They are printed for every store across Canada. Therefore, you may find something you are looking for not in stock. What I've done in the past is simply order online if not available in the store. Sure this doesn't help if it's something you need now. I do have to agree with some of the reviews regarding the cashiers. They can be nasty at times. Ignorant and not pleasant. However, there are only a select few. I don't want to paint all the cashiers with the same brush. These are normally the females I've dealt with when checking out. As for the items not displaying the prices, this would be helpful. I find it frustrating that we need to hunt someone down for verify pricing or even checkout their website while in the store which I found faster then looking for a staff member. Overall, a good store

This place was amazing to work for in the beginning. I have a medical condition that I provided documentation on and they still reprimanded me for absences. They didn’t once tell me I needed more documentation from my doctor or anyone else. I expressed my concern about this in the meeting that I was reprimanded in and all of a sudden the rules changed for me. I was told to do one thing for a long time customer by the leader on Duty and again questioned for it the next day. This place is horrible to work for. Sadly I’ve also ran into a few of the customers that I got to know in the year that I worked there and when they ask about me well let’s just say professionalism and the “values” that Princess auto prides themselves on were not demonstrated by the staff in any way shape or form. I’ve been in the work force for over 30 years and have never been treated so poorly.

This store has gone downhill since opening. Merchandise often isn't priced on shelves, (just recently experinced this as well as witnessed another customer frustrated with the same issue) price stickers often missing on items, reduced staff especially on qeekrnds when customers attempt to find items there's often no one to ask on the floor, few cashiers, merchandise diffkcutlt to find due to constant changing of some locations. Bought a trap packaged as a 10x12, when i got it home opened it it was less thsn 10x12. Not happy!!!!! Had a bad experience with a cashier when they couldn't hear me speaking clearly enough while having a mask on. Was told by floor person not to come back to store when I got really frustrated. Not likely to return.

I visited the store looking to buy two box cutters which were on sale for $3.99. I couldn't find them in the aisle with the box cutters so I asked the lady working in the aisle if she knew where they were. She checked and there were 12 in stock, but she didn't know where they were - "maybe in the warehouse" she told me. Then she asked another lady who worked there and the two sales associates wandered around looking for them then one said to the other, "page Thor". Thor was on lunch apparently and neither lady came back to provide any update on where these items were. It seemed they were interested in letting me leave without buying I guess. Not my idea of good customer service and not what I've experienced at other Princess Autos before.

Let's be clear, you are not going to negotiate this store on your own! This is the most wonderfully eclectic stock of everything you didn't know you needed, but then need, and have no idea how to find what you actually need .. Thus, you rely on staff. The first person you ask may not be the one to help you, in fact, they may be grumpy and dismissive. Don't let that dissuade you! Find the PA lifer! They are your saving grace. Not only will they take you to your item, they will ask your kids if they like candy and give them a free bag and make them feel special. Kingston Princess Auto has some unsung heroes. Wish I held on to the receipt to properly identify the pony tailed silver fox of a gentleman! Thank you.

It's been a tough time for retail, but the staff at this store has really stepped up. Brad in particular, went above and beyond in my most recent purchase. I had ordered some material for a project online early in the morning, and by late afternoon hadn't received my pickup notification. I called the store and Brad said they were about a day behind with online orders. He said phone in orders were being processed within the hour though, and suggested cancelling the online order, and ordering directly through the store. He went above and beyond for me by cancelling it for me, and it saved me time. Just really good service, and it made my day. Thank you to everyone that helped.

Princess auto..., for those of you unfamiliar with this chain of stores, they sell tools and farm supply items, but the crown jewel as far as I am concerned is the surplus dept. It is constantly morphing and evolving, and you never know what you might find in there. Quality of some of the items may be a little suspect, but look at the price and tell yourself their returns policy is 'no sale is final until you're satisfied' within reason. After a year has passed they generally consider it to be yours for life, but I have returned something purchased 8 years prior for a full refund, as the items were unused and the packaging was intact. Go to Princess Auto. Do it now!

I purchased a water pump last year from the Princess auto in Kingston, the service has been second to none. The floor staff helped me through the process of picking my order and working through potential difficulties. That was last year. When I went back in today because my pump had failed mechanically this spring, I was not sure if they would be able to help, but without hesitation Larry at the service desk said lets see what we can do. They could not refund our purchase price but instead gave us a break on a brand new pump. More than happy with the good people working in this well oiled retail machine.

We pop into princess auto when we are looking for any electrinic accessories, cables, connectors etc. They usually have a selection. They often have the best price in town. Also its fun to find the odd pet supplies here. Fun selection, usually great service from the staff. Sometimes im shocked with their memory of the location where an item is, like Canadian tire but better. They can usually tell me which isle and where in that isle or they go iut of their way to loacte the item if it has been moved. Great service, good finds and we'll be back! Again and again!

Went there to get something advertised in flyer.... product not in store because of bad management. Who puts a flyer out knowing they might have the products in the store...maybe..maybe not...don't ask anyone because your a mind reader and should know how it works ...then get told they will put you on a list so WHEH EVER it comes in...week,months, years they will call ya... just a reminder the money I pull out of my pocket should be appreciated not treated like your not the only one in this world attitude....thanks princess.

No point in believing any of the princess auto flyers that heavily promote the sale items every week. Twice already we have been disappointed with false advertising on their part. One time we went to pick up a siphon pump that was advertised and the clerk told us that the wrong photo was used and the one shown was $15 more than the price listed. How convenient for them. List a lower price and show the wrong photo. Hmmmm. I don’t mind getting cheap stuff like at the dollar store but I sure don’t like being lied to.

Called princess auto numerous times about product availability.The robot tells you to enter the product number so I do every time but the robot says its not the right number everytime . Getting sick of talking to princess auto robots wheres all the staff like canadiantire does that will talk one on one . Tired of the f'n robots I might just boycott princess auto and take all my business back to canadiantire after all canadiantire has better quality merchandise

We went there for a few things on sale, and it was a horrible experience. It is completely cluttered and everything is put places with no rhyme or reason. Nothing is priced. And if do you do end up buying watch your prices when you get scanned in, cause nothing comes up with sale prices so you'll be paying full price. We were so upset we brought it to the cashiers attention and her response was "ya we know". Get it together Pricess Auto Kingston.

Love to go here and browse with my brother. Unfortunately, the young female cashier is very rude and short. She never says “hello” or “have a nice day”.. its usually just “phone number?” When you approach.. and then she says nothing else for the duration of the interaction. This has happened on 3 occasions now. I think she needs a refresher on kind customer service.

Absolutely love Princess Auto! I go there as much as once a week most times . With the recent pandemic orders, I have been lost without them, and not just myself , because I spoke to a fellow who was having a key cut , when he left , he said his next stop was Princess Auto....Ironically enough , so was mine! We just chuckled about it being our favorite stores

Staff are very helpful to go out of their way to help a customer . The store always has a variety of great sales and better sale prices on merchandise than most other stores that carry some of the same products . Overall great store great prices and a great friendly helpful staff . Best return policy ever . Keep up the good work Princess auto 2 thumbs up

Store phone system sucks for a hearing impaired customer. I have been a faithful customer for as long as the store has been in Kingston and this is my first negative review. That automated phone answering (??) system would have killed a sale except that my wife made three tries to get through and succeeded on her third. This will not do. Rod Croskery

Great selection, generally helpful staff. Heather and Tim are always a pleasure to deal with, super knowledgeable and always helpful, it seems like there is no question that they can't help with. Ny only criticisms would be their inventory management, and that their phone system/menu is abysmal. Use the website for inventory checks.

Always full of bargains and neat stuff, my wife enjoys the store too especially surplus (you never know what you may find!) Just had great customer service from Lindley in Winnipeg via phone, was in a bind and he helped me to get er done. Thanks Lindley! That's why I keep going back and back and back and back....

Excellent customer service. Great quality and prices as always. Online shopping is quick and easy but Princess Auto chooses FedEx for delivery. They are useless. Get emails everyday stating my delivery is now the next day. FedEx customer service is automated and useless. Will never order online again!

They seem to never have what's on sale, when you get to the store. You can never find anything you are looking for, as always have to hunt down an associate . To bad the dont have a product locator kiosk like Canadian tire. Definitely dont recommend the power fist brand, very poor quality merchandise.

Princess Auto always has a wide variety of interesting and useful products including a great deal of things that aren't just auto related. You can pick up an anti-snoring head-strap and a trailer hitch assembly all in one store:) Lots of good deals as well. I could spend hours in this store.

Went to princess auto for some ratchet straps , so we asked the person at the till (Shannon) if they had 2 more straps that we were looking for n she told us that well your supposed to ask the people on the floor, anyway she was quite rude glad I won’t be shopping there again

A lot of special & hard-to-find tools as well as the basics. Took a long time to find the item I needed due to lack of labeling of the aisles. Was not asked by any sales associates if I needed help. That's why only 4 stars. TL;DR Canadian version of Harbor Freight Tools.

This store has pretty much everything you need, and quite a lot of wants. A taillight for your trailer? A sausage machine? Specialty wrenches? How about some hydraulics or a generator? A prime location across from Costco that has ample parking and knowledgeable staff.

I love going into the Kingston store while my wife goes across the street to Costco. There are usually lots of specials in Princess Auto. While the wife is in Costco I have time to think up reasons why I NEED a sale item. Great service as well as knowledgeable staff.

Nice bright store, helpful staff. Cheap tools, mostly made in China - if you're only going to use it once in a while, or try it out to see if it's worth buying a high-quality one, you can get some great deals. Basically the Canadian equivalent to Harbor Freight.

The man running the orders out from the store to the cars in the parking lot deserves an all expenses paid week in Aruba after the world opens back up. So come on PA, this guy is maintaining if not elevating your image. Wish I had remembered his name, sorry.

We love princess auto...it was so nice to be able to browse again- since you always find things you wouldn't expect. I got stuff for replacing my struts- my wife picked up a ton of items for arts and crafts- kid got gummy worms on the way out. Grand slam.

A Man's paradise. Pretty much has everything you need for your garage/shop. Lots of choices. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. They do need to tiddy up a bit and I found allot of items didn't have prices on the shelves they are displayed in.

Nice selection of items, however make sure you call in if you are looking for something that is listed on their website. Tried to use a $15 coupon on an online purchase and it would not work. They've stated on the phone that they had a print error.

Great selection of tools and items. Things don't last as long. Everything I have bought from here didn't last long at all. Staff a little bit dismissive. Know your stuff before you go in, if you ask them, they don't know much.

I was looking for copies of old receipts, they were incredibly helpful and were happy to give them to me. Love this place. You pay for what tou receve, as long as you know that, tou will find many useful hard to find items.

My go-to place for all of my automotive and household needs - the staff are always super helpful, and you can't beat the prices (especially on the flyer specials, clearance items, and random one-off's throughout the store).

Great store for all you need. Make sure to call in advance, because their online inventory doesn't match their store inventory. Staff is knowledgeable, but difficult to get a hold of, as there are so few.

Wandered around the aisles looking for someone to point me in the direction of concrete bits. After 15 minutes of looking, finally found an employee whose response was "check over there in welding".

My home away from home. I've been going to princess auto since they only had two stores. Things have changed since then but the deals and their guarantees will always keep me coming back.

Good service at the door. Some products were low in stock. Yesterday the store looked brighter than normal. This was the first visit in a year. Unfortunately only found one of four items.

Great store for a handyman. Always some neat things in their surplus section. Very helpful staff and lots of them available which is getting to be a rare commodity in many other stores.
