Russell colored my hair approx 1 and a half yr ago to cover up a drugstore bought burgandy/purple dye job I had done- it was terrible, but he managed to totally fix what I had done. I left the salon with blondish hair and I loved it. My bf loved it too, and unfortunately he died not long after. So I returned to Pro Hair to get the same color done, Russell had put a record of the exact colors he used into the computer. I would of preferred to see him, but thought that with the color listed, any other stylist could do same or similar. Last week, I finally had time to spare, so stopped in hoping Russell was working (I should of made an appointment with him) He wasn't there, so I asked about the colors being listed on computer and was told yes it was all there, so I was confident I would leave with good results. The woman who colored my hair assured me it would be blond (my natural hair color is brown) As she went through my hair, she began to criticize the job Russell had done previously, saying it was "all over the place" she "couldn't figure out what he had been trying to do" "it was a mess". Personally, I was very satisfied with the job Russell had done, at the time, I was having a very hard time, and his charisma and excellent care of me brightened me immensely, so to hear a fellow worker criticizing his work was offensive. She then said she liked experimenting and being "funky". I said several times that I wanted blond hair, I don't know why she felt she could completely NOT do what I asked. For $288 I expected to leave looking good. And of course not realizing just how bad it was until I got home and had to leave Calgary for my sisters wedding in Kelowna. So now Im back a week after the terrible regrettable experience, and Ive got what looks like 2 racing stripes on either side of my head and my hair is almost completely brown still, theres a few skinny super blond streaks throughout. it looks awful. I would recommend Russel and follow him to any other salon. -Angela

If you’re thinking of going to this salon, DON’T. I went in to get a cut and colour. I had very long hair, and I advised that I wanted to keep my hair as long as possible, and to only trim off the minimum amount required to get rid of the dead ends. Hair stylist Vicky showed me how much she was going to take off, which was about two inches and I was okay with that. I asked to have it cut straight across, with some long layers. She then took off about 5 inches, butchered my hair with very choppy, uneven, short layers, and attempted to shape my face which I did NOT ask for. I talked to two different people at this salon, both claiming to be the manager, and they did not offer me anything to fix this. Instead I was told it must be the angle I was taking the photo at, and I could come in so the same stylist that butchered my hair could “look” at it. I have since gone to two different senior stylists at different salons for a consultation to see what can be done to fix this. They both advised me that it was such a bad hair cut that there is nothing that can even be done until it grows out. I was also told that the way my hair was chopped off in the front by Vicky was a “rookie mistake”. DO NOT GO HERE!

Went in to have my roots touch up because the lower end of my hair is lighter. I thought this was understood by the stylist because I did say I want it to match the current lighter color of my hair. After applying product on my hair, she went to assist lots of other people even though she said she'll get back to me sooner. I got confused when we were done because the color of my hair is just the same. She said she only covered up the gray hair which was not a lot and can be combed over by the way. So I paid nearly $100 and spent a longer time waiting than I should have to have my hair look exactly the same. Don't know why she thought it made sense for a client to pay for hair color service and have the exact same color. ‍♀️ If are considering going here because other places are a bit more pricey, and you actually have the money to go somewhere more "established", just go there.

If I could rate this salon 0 stars I would. I went in to get highlights done today, the lady told me she knew exactly what I wanted (based upon a picture a showed her. At first she seemed confident, but she kept checking in on my hair all nervous. Finally she said “oh thank god it lifted (the colour), you’re lucky”. This was the moment I realized I messed up. I look like a raccoon and my hair is a mix of orange, yellow and brown. After she washed my hair, she proceeded to blow dry MY CURLY HAIR. She had already knew from the beginning that I had curly hair. My hair was frizzy and orange and she told me that she couldn’t do anything about it. I asked her if she could flatten it, she said she would charge me $25 on top of the $115 I had to pay for this horrendous job. I proceeded to style my own hair in a bun, because I could not see from my now huge hair. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Worst experience ever starting from booking appointment appointment over phone to hair job. Firstly, they booked me on wednesday and when I went there, they said person who does permanent hair straightning does not works on wednesdays who is their manager but when I asked why you gave me appointment they then said different girl can do for me who has experience too but after one week of getting done my hair became curly again after spending $300. I went back there and spoke to manager who checked my hair and said yes there are areas left where chemicals were not applied because of which it happened and it was not done properly.She then gave me another appointment and re-did for me and told me not to come back. Its been not even 3 months and my hair are back to normal. These people just make money and does not care about your hair. I wish can give them 0 stars.

Went today at PRO Haircare and salon at Sunridge mall ( july 22, 2019) the store today to purchase an "after care solution" for my niece who is 3 month and just got her piercing done. We paid for the solution already and thanks God that I double checked the bottle before exiting the store and I noticed that the solution has been expired since 2016, I was frustrated and tell them to give the money back so I can go else where to buy it they couldn't get me my refund and the manager was saying that we can still use it Because its sealed. Like why would we use a product that's been expired on a baby who just got their piercing done. Just be warned when you go there because that store sell expired things and will argue with you. Me and my sister left the store really mad, we didn't want their in store credit whats over because the manager she's really rude.

The stylist absolutely butchered my hair. I normally bring a picture to help the stylist get an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish and when I showed it to him he made a disgusted face. Halfway through cutting my hair he stated what I wanted would look bad, thus I told him to style it in the way he was suggesting believing that as a hairdresser he would have a better opinion of what would suite my face. WRONG! After cutting it the way he wanted, he kept saying it doesn't look good and then tried to fix it by adding more layers to the back, then saying maybe I should cut the whole thing off. It was supposed to be a kind of undercut that now resembles a Joe Dirt style mullet with shaved sides. I've been hiding my head under a hat for weeks waiting for some hair to grow back in. If you value you hair, avoid this place!

I found this AMAZING hairstylist, Jackie, just walking in to do a bang trim. Was so impressed by the cut, went back for a full cut. I have been searching all my life for a stylist who understands my thick hair and does not unnecessarily thin my hair. Have tried several different salons, different stylists at different pricing and the search is overrrrrrr!!!! Let me tell you why Jackie is top notch: -Technical skills are beyond excellent -Listens to what you need -Gave me the most beautiful wispy layers without thinning -Fun to talk to and honest -Stays up to date with latest trends and keeps her skills fresh by finding workshops in different countries -Very reasonable pricing I am telling everyone about her! She is the diamond I never expected to find at Sunridge mall.

The manager at this place is the MOST ignorant and rude person you'll ever meet. I had told the lady that I have really dry scalp and eczema (it's something that I have been dealing with my entire life) and the manager walks up to us and starts touching my hair and screams "OH MY GOODNESS WHAT IS THAT ON YOUR HAIR MY DEAR" like she's never seen flaky scalp before. Also I wish she could've yelled it out louder so everybody walking by outside could've heard her too. And this isn't the first time she has done this it never happens when I get my appointments booked with Vicky or anybody else. They usually just recommend me a shampoo that doesn't really do anything because i already use a medicated shampoo but at least they try to help and aren’t rude about it

I am a regular at this salon as they sell my favourite shampoo at a discounted price. Today, I visited the salon in the evening to purchase my shampoo. The male employee working there was incredibly rude towards me during our interaction. He attempted to show me another type and when I kindly reiterated that I actually wanted my regular shampoo, he shut me down in a demeaning, dismissive fashion - saying that was all they had and I could either take it or leave it. I was shocked, said thank you for your help and walked out. I was able to find my shampoo in Chatters, just down the hall, which I was more than happy to pay extra for. At least their employees don't hate their jobs and take it out on the customers. I will not be coming back here again.

My regular hairdresser was out of town… so was hurrying through the mall just as it opened to see if I could get in somewhere for a cut… I glanced into this shop and seen a stunning/exotic looking lady who’s name is Anastasia who was just opening up the doors. She said she could do me now since she would have time before her first booking of the morning showed up.. Best haircut I’ve ever experienced in my life. She takes the extra time to make sure you are satisfied with the cut….she also smells wonderful…so anyway she has been my main hairdresser for the last year… If she tries to talk about her dogs that she just might believe are humans…she don’t seem to get offended if you tell her to shut up about them….I highly recommend this lady…

I decided to try this place as my usual place had shut down. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed. Although I did a walk-in appointment the wait was short and the customer service was excellent. I had the pleasure of having Ana as my stylist. I've always had medium to long curly hair. However, I wanted to try something different (a longer pixie type hair style). I showed Ana a picture of what I wanted and she did a wonderful job. She is very detail oriented, kind and really cares about her clients. The rest of the staff was wonderful as well. The salon was very clean, social distancing was maintained and everything was sanitized. I will definitely be making this my new regular place for a hair cut.

This was my first visit to Pro Haircare, and I aram absolutely so happy I went. I called and spoke with Jackie and expressed my concerns and what I was looking for. Jackie assured me that I would be happy with the results and booked me in. From the moment I arrived Jackie made sure I felt listened to and heard . We talked about different colors and options and I left it in Jackie's very capable hands to decide which color to use. To say that I am thrilled would be a understatement. It was my first time at the Pro Haircare & Salon, in the Sunridge Mall, and now I highly recommend this salon. I was super nervous about coloring my hair, due to a past terrible experience that I have had in another salon. However, my experience this time was very good! I was helped by the hairdresser Anastasia, who was amazing; she listened to me and was thoughtful before choosing the colors for my hair, even consulting with her manager, who was nice too. As a result, I loved my haircut and color. So, I appreciate all the kindness of those excellent professionals and I will be back! Thank you Anastasia!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this salon. I went in not knowing what I wanted, and was deeply satisfied with the knowledge and expertice that was shown by the hairdressers there. They showed professionalism and pride in their work and interation with customers. Every time I have gone there, I have left happy. My personal favorite has to be Tea because of her ability to convince me of what to get, and how smooth and even my hair comes out. She really has mastered the art of knowing how to do both a traditional haircut, and something more modern and stylish. I would reccomend her to anyone.

I have been going to pro hair care for years. I followed my hair stylist Ana to there from her former employer. I trust her so much with my hair cuts I walk in and let her cut my hair anyway she wants that day She does a fantastic job on my hair cuts and gives amazing scalp massages. I have never had a bad hair cut from Ana. She does men's and women's hair styling. I highly recommend you book Ana to care for your hair styling needs.

I have naturally curly hair and have struggled for 20 years to find a hair stylist who know how to properly cut it. Vicky was AMAZING!!! She educated me on a few of her products that work best for for curly hair, gave me a hair cut that is easy to manage and was super friendly. All covid protocols were followed and I felt 100% comfortable. I will definitely be going back for upkeep. My hunt for the perfect hair stylist is over!

Got a terrible asymmetrical fade that was super choppy done by a girl who was kinda nice. The next day I went back to see if I could get it fixed or refunded, a nice guy tried his best to fix it but I was too messed up. I was refused a refund. On the way out I asked a guy coming in "how does my hair look? Exactly dont go here" to which he responded laughing "looks wack man thanks for the warning"

Russell at Pro haircare is amazing. I have been going to him for years. This is the only place I feel comfortable that I will walk out feeling like a million bucks. He takes his time to make sure I get exactly what I want, even when I don't have a clue on what it is! Always seems to know if I want conversation or not. Getting work done by Russell is like a micro vacation of relaxation.

The ladies were awesome. We went in to get my daughters hair cut she is 9. It was a bit of a wait because we did not book an appointment. So we decided to walk around the mall. Ana has been doing my hair for a few months now as Lindsay has not returned due to Covid and I love the cut she gives me. She never takes too much off and the last time she coloured it dark with blond highlights, I get so many compliments on it! Jackie is such a warm and welcoming presence whether you're dealing with her over the phone or in person. I've been going to Vicky for over 5 years now and she always delivers. The reviews here are pretty misleading, in my experience pro hair care has been amazing. Been going there for 6-7 years now, always with Jessica and I've never been unsatisfied. When Jessica wasn't there I went to Vicky. Both are amazing, Jessica's my favourite. Anyways highly recommend either of them!

Was being driven mad by my hair and decided to get a haircut on the weekend. Called the salon to see if they could fit me in. They said that my regular hairdresser (Vicky) was working till 8 that day. And she had an opening at 6:30pm. Fantastic service as always. Loved my new haircut. Thank you.

It was lovely here but I feel like I was way overcharged for a simple wash and hairstyle. My sister was at the salon around the corner and paid $50 less than I did. It may be for the spa services they provide but the "head massage" lasted for maybe 3 minutes. Definately not worth the money.
