Here's what happened 1. Booked a small room at the venue early March for a 40th in early May. Late arvo start, early eve finish before club opens. 2. They we're aware from the start, some minors attending, alcohol free min bar tab, soft drinks mocktails. All good. 3. Two weeks before party. They said we decided even though you got minors we will allow beer and wine on the tab if you want it as the minors are obviously accompanied by adults? 4. We declined but thanks for the offer. 5. One week before the party. How old are the minors? I said 3-17 just 10-15 of them total out of 60 - 70 people. 6. 3 days before party. Sorry we are uncomfortable with minors that young as there is drinking in the party next door room. 7. But you offered us beer and wine at our party!? Yes but before we knew the ages. 8. Wouldn't you ask this question when we booked?!?!?! 9. Had to scramble for 2 days to find an available hall and decorators to host party. Luckily one available. 10. CONCLUSION. THESE GUYS ARE SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL. Had we accepted the booze bar tab, I reckon no problem. But we likely didn't spend enough for their expectations.

We payed $70 and unfortunately if your in the club u can not sit down otherwise you will get warmed for sitting down n you get kicked out why bcoz my leg was swollen coz of dancing and walking, apparently I just laid my head at my husband’s shoulder for a second and the racist guards are so rude becoz we don’t look Aussie smh I’m an Australian citizen I can’t believe brissy is this pathetic I have never ever experienced all this drama and the manager is sorry but can not do anything for what the guards did to their customers It’s New Years night and all i can say is have the shitest year for ruining ours for nothing honestly the the guards think they are god or a president of Australian Not acceptable at all I would not recommend going there first of all they do not serve proper drinks all they serve is corona no shots at all please please be prepared before going to this ridicules place.

The club security guards were extremely disrespectful and denied entry to me simply because of a bag I had to carry as I am a type 1 diabetic. The contents of the bag only included medical needs that I am required to carry at all times. They disregarded this after multiple times showing them medical cards that clearly state I am a type 1 diabetic. This was a clear act of discrimination against myself as well as the conduct of the staff towards me and my friends trying to explain the reason for the bag was unacceptable. The security guards took violent action pulling me by the collar and swearing at both myself and others with me after questioning their reasoning. Very disappointed with the establishment and staffs conduct with the complete disregards for anyones health and safety.

I’d heard a LOT of rumours about this place so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. To my surprise, this place is VERY classy and its decor is reminiscent of the 1920s. Another surprise is that this venue is quite small on the inside, and there are also lots of private places to sit. While the dancefloor is comparatively tiny, it really gets thumping when there’s tons of people, the flashing lights are on, and the DJ is in their element. Another reason I love this place is the free entry (mostly), and if you come in on Ladies’ Night, it’s free drinks, free makeup, and free hair. This place really goes above and beyond when it comes to making their customers feel like loyalty. An additional bonus for having the cleanest, most GORGEOUS bathrooms in all of the Valley.

So disappointed in what used to be my favourite place in the world. Started charging $10 entry and creating a que to be able to dance for 5mins at a time. Fair enough, social distancing etc. But at some point in the night you aren’t even allowed into the que anymore because it’s too full (ie 30 people). What am I paying the $10 for?? Lmao, I can stand around drinking over-priced drinks at home for free??? On top of that, the security has gotten completely archaic. You’re not allowed to stand anywhere, even when it’s way too full to move around. They are so rude constantly when telling you to get out of the line/off the “dance floor”. Please go back to the way you were after covid, I would never recommend this place to my friends again the way it is now.

Not the best place to party! The Chinese guy that was wearing a black shirt and a monkey jacket on the night of 7/10/2017 was the most rude lil asian person I've ever come across, he made some stereotypical/racist comments, flashing a touch light in our faces, told the security guy to kick us out for no reason, other than to nicely tell my friend to take off his hat. He refused to sell drinks to me, though I didn't do anything, other than asking for a drink, even the security guards was wondering why he wanted us out of the club for no reason. Thanks for wrecking my birthday! The management should caution him!

My fiancé lost his wallet at The Prohibition and a friend he was drinking with actually found it and thought he was doing the right thing by being honest and handing it in to a glassie (not realising it was my partner's wallet and he was probably standing right next to him!). We've spoken to a lady there who was less than interested in helping us. She apparently spoke to all the staff working that night and nothing has turned up.... bunch of lying thieves! So frustrating KNOWING it was handed in and some staff member stole the cash and likely tossed the wallet in the bin. Thanks a lot *ssholes

Both times I have gone to this place I have left after being there for 30 minutes because of rude staff and an unpleasant atmosphere. When you first walk in there it smells like vomit everywhere, and you are charged $10 to just stand in the club as there is no where to sit or dance as the dance floor is full. One bartender yelled at me for nothing and so I had to be served by the another guy who was much nicer. To be honest I would rather sit at home and drink than buy over priced watered down drinks from here.

I understand that security have a job to do, and that the club could've been fined for letting a queue form outside, but these guards were particularly rude and even cruel about it. There was an 18 year old girl outside, who got seperated from her friends, and she simply, politely asked if they could talk to her friends on her behalf, and she was called disrespectful and annoying by them for doing so. This poor girl was in tears, and they offered no help, and even rather callously tried to force her to go away.

Came here for a work function - loved the way the room looked, especially as we were all dressed up in 1920s gear. The bathrooms were beautiful, relatively clean and quiet. When the work function finished, the crowds came rolling in. The music was good although it was so packed and so many drinks were spilt everywhere, the floor was really gross. I liked the room just outside where you could just sit and rest your feet or have a quiet conversation before you decide to head back in or to call it a night.

Busy nightclub. The music is good, decent sound, bar staff good but security no good. They now have a large outdoor area which is a good place to escape from the club for a bit. The bar staff are efficient and have a positive attitude. Security however are everywhere and quite in-your-face. It seems they have a quota of people to kick out or something because many people get kicked out for no apparent reason. Definitely go to the Met instead if you are choosing between them.

drinks are cheap on thursdays win win, the whole layout of the bar is bad and i’ve heard so many people say it, the bar in the middle is cool but like it makes the dance floor so small, the bar should take up one side of the club like where the booths are on the right for example and have the do set on the left, the security are very nice, ladies night is a win win with drinks, heard yous do free pizza before 9, overall alright place, floors are sticky

used to be free entry now $10 and at the bottom of the club. line to get in doesn't take too long which is good. best music and venue with a huge outdoor area although it is pretty hot in some areas feeling like l of air con. the ladies toilet really needs expanding as takes a long time to get in. they have a big area as well with cushions where more toilets could be installed. all in all still one of my favourite places in fortitude valley to dance.

Look, I've been a big fan of Prohibition and visited regularly for a while enjoying myself quite a bit. I went in last weekend on a bit of a high celebrating the tigers first premiership in 37 years rockin' a Richmond polo. However, you're apparently not allowed to wear sports apparel because it doesn't fit the ''''''standards''''' of the club. Where is the respect? Where is the compassion? Where is the common decency? Poor form.

My son and his mate each pre-paid $27 entry fee for an event that started at 10pm and were then told by security they had to leave one hour later "because your mate has had too much to drink". This was after only 1 hour after arriving and each having had only one drink. We suspect Prohibition overbooked the uni event and security were making up excuses to kick people out to be able to let more people in. AVOID OF THIS PLACE!

Was escorted out by a security guard minutes after paying for entry. I bought a drink and sat at a table with my friends and immediately a guard grabs me by the shoulders and begins to walk me out. I kept asking why he was escorting me out and he rudely didn’t say a thing. I wasn’t resisting or acting disorderly, just confused as to what I did wrong. Extremely unprofessional and unwarranted.

This place is using manipulative sales tactics. For years prohibition has always been known for free admission. Now they funnel everyone into the club and at the very last second demand $10 for entry (when heaps of people are already waiting behind you and there’s no direct exit). Door staff are also rude as hell. Also don’t bother trying to pee here, you’ll wait like an hour for a toilet:

An hour after paying entry I went to my car after asking a bouncer if I would be allowed to return and was told I would. After five minutes I returned to be told that I would not be able to return for an hour. After 45 minutes I returned to be told that it would be another hour and I was not allowed to wait there. Spend your night somewhere better. Like tomcat right next door

Horrible place to be! Came on Saturday 13th Feb with my 2 girl mates and my fiancé. We thought it was a good nightclub but we thought wrong. The security guards seemed racist, extremely unprofessional and they pushed my partner on the dancefloor. If you’re aboriginal or Australian, then it’s a ok place for them!! Wish I gave 0 stars. Not coming back again.

Money grabbing scum is all I can say. $3 beer advertising but they charged me $10. I went back to ask politely for a refund and they said no then security kicked me out cause I “ swore” at the bar tender. Terrible service pre drink before entering this place. Music was alright though

Totally recommend VIP booth at prohibition !! Will not disappoint , they staff literally looks after you and are so helpful

I visited 2 days last weekend and will be back this weekend. Great music and security. In particular a bartender named Paris was extremely helpful and kind, after going to a few places before with horrible service, it was great to have her serve us so quick and friendly while it was so busy. 10/10 will be back this weekend to visit the club & Paris

Great venue for a night out. Wait time to get in is a lot shorter compared to other clubs in the Valley, due to having multiple lanes and security guards. The outdoor section is amazing, with a bar, DJ and dance floor, as well as moveable chairs. So much space to so it's never too cramped. Definitely my favourite venue in the Valley

I would've given closer to 4 stars, but the bar service was pretty appalling. I paid $18 for a martini that barely filled half the glass and was not shaken over ice - a room temperature rip off. When I said something about it, the staff were rude and dismissive. BUT the club itself had good atmosphere and good music.

I am an international student with my valid country ID. Also, I am a regular customer. But this time they’re not letting me in unless I happen to have my passport on me which doesn’t really make sense. Who would go clubbing with a whole passport in his pocket. The other clubs were completely fine with just an ID.

First time visitor and was very impressed with the size of the venue and service, was easy to enjoy a drink and converse in the back outside area that wasn't completely devoted to smoking which was great. Place picked up around the 2230 mark without effecting service, recommend highly and will revisit again.

Cool venue and tunes were good. A lot of space and huge smoking area. We had a booth which contributed to a great night. We attended a hen party and had a package, constant flow of drinks and somewhere safe to leave our bags. A lot of toilets and there was even a lady topping up make up in the bathroom.

I went to prohibition last night and it is definitely one of the best clubs in Brisbane, they have the friendliest staff. There’s a blue haired bartender that makes my night every time I’m there and the security are so nice (when you’re doing the right thing;)). Would highly recommend for a great night.

this venue is good but the toilet situation is absolutely HAM SANDWICHED…. there are very few toilets and the line can easily exceed 1 hour on a big night… massive turn off for the venue. if they spent half as much money on putting mirrors and decorative couches in they could put in another 10 toilets…

Maybe this rating is only about personal preferences, but I usually prefer smaller places for techno clubs. The crowd was also quite young and not as nice as the vibe you can get in some festivals ;). Although, some people could have a totally different experience, depending on what your looking for !

Green haired bartender was extremely rude to me and my group of friends, screamed at us for standing in the no service are and yet continued to serve patrons in no service area, afterwards continued to be extremely rude and unpleasant even after leaving tip, would not recommend, staff are horrendous

The bouncers here have a power complex. They treat customers in the line with arrogance. One falsely accused me of cutting the line, and began mouthing off. So I just left, and went to another club. Ironically they try to maintain an air of class, but the bouncers act and behave like hoodlums.

I have been attending evenings at the prohibition club for some time now. I have been increasingly disappointed with the music and general vibe of the club. It has great potential but is let down by the choices of music and djs. Please consider this otherwise I will no longer be attending.

Was on my chair swaying my hips in front of my friends then got dragged by security to the front door when I asked why and what happened the front bouncer asked if I wanted to be beaten to the ground because I was dancing when somehow you can pack people in to pay to come in like cattle

Herded like cattle through the door when it's busy and security staff on the inside are very rude and aggressive even if you're not doing anything. The redeeming factor is easily the immense size of the place, I kept stumbling upon new parts if I took a walk around. Drinks are okay.

First time out since moving to Brisbane and silly me grabbed my expired drivers license. This place was the only one that allowed me in after they checked out some of my other IDs. Bouncers were lovely, place was pretty good. Loved the females bathroom! Will defiently heading back.

It's crowded and hot but the music is pretty great and there is always a good vibe. The security are usually friendly people and the bar service is so good. There's not a lot of seating, there are big booth areas but they're VIP or something and you ain't allowed in.

Good venue, staff are super efficient. Good, clean facilities and great dancefloor but unfortunately it is covered in shattered glass.. would be smart to move to plastic cups. Also a great place to go if you want to be groped by an onslaught of sweaty lechers.

Fun night club, great bartenders I had an beautiful girl called Paris look after me and the girls. Honestly couldn't of had a better night the service that Paris provided was top knotch. I'm planning on having my hens night here and hopefully my girls on bar

Considering my group were from Melbourne, this was the closest to what it felt like being home! Great space, huge outdoor area. Just wish there was access to water more easily. Oh and the bathrooms are huge as well! Massive bonus compared to Melbourne clubs

I’m definitely not a night club goer anymore but the prohibition’s bartender Paris really made me change my mind about the prohibition and clubbing all together, she’s such an amazing cocktail maker! I really had the best night, I’ll be back again and again

Thank god the DJ just stopped in that outdoor area. It's 3am and now I can sleep. This review is not so much about the nightclub itself but it's about Prohibition as a company and how disrespectful they are of residents who live in the area.

Prohibition club is at the heart of fortitude valley. The club is free for all. You should have to bring your identity card or passport for your age identification and for entry. The dancing area is very spacious and Music is simply wow

My South African girlfriend was called a dirty f***ing c**t by the doorman here tonight. When I complained to the hostess at the door was told there had just been a fight inside so everyone was a bit on edge. Definitely NOT a cool place

This venue has redundant covid policies, making QR code check indifficult and time consuming. Coupled with aggressive security, swearing and yelling at my face. Low class establishment and a horrible experience. Do NOT recommend.

The venue itself has potential to be classy but there is just too many sleazy men on drugs. Imagine 1000 sweaty men popping pills and Viagra under a strobe light and then a single group of girls unexpectedly walking in on that.

I love the house music that’s played in the main room, the commercial outside and small events hosted in the Wall Street room. The funktion one sound system in the main room is epic for the style of music played here. Love it

Scammers. One of my drinks was overcharged for no reason. First drink and second drink: whisky-coke: $5.13. Third drink: shot of Malibu: $21.53?! One full bottle of Malibu costs $37. I contacted them, no reply. Very dodgy.

Music is normally pretty good but DJs are a little trigger happy never letting you enjoy more than a verse per track but the lights are fantastic. Only order bottled drinks as staff always underpour. Big smokers sections

Went in on Friday, couldn't believe it was free for the quality of service received. Production quality was incredible, music was next level! Drink prices were reasonable too, will be returning soon for sure

They will treat you rudely if your not from AU... it's a small pool place but the bartenders are rude to travelers and will call you different accents "annoying" but If you are an aussie it's an ok place...

Had the best bloody time at the Prohibition! The bar tender Paris was an absoltue gem! She made us feel so welcomed and was so polite and heaps of fun to have a laugh with! 100% recommend, what a legend ❤️

Staff were average. Music and drink variety was quite good. Love the "peacock" room off to the right of the enterance, couches around tables, in an area where you can talk away from the music, brilliant.

Great place to party and the house DJs are not too bad. The acoustic little bar at the entrance before the main club is probably the best hidden gem around with a decent hard liquor list and cocktails.

Easily my favourite nightclub in Brisbane. World class sound, quality local & international DJs , 3 different rooms playing 3 different styles of music. What more could you want for your night out???

This club hosted Candee Flip earlier this year... that's all that matters! Was one of the best nights of clubbing I've ever experienced. Would love to come here again for another night like that.

This palce had all the bangers and the crowds to go with it. Open plan main area downstairs at the dancefloor, with good flow around the sides near the tables. Quite a decent palce really.

My favourite club in the valley! It blends classic style with a futuristic twist. Drinks are moderately priced and cocktails are good value. Definately the place to hear deep house.

As an event decorator/coordinator we loved the amazing layout and space of this venue. The staff were so incredibly friendly and easy for us to deal with to make our client happy.

The guy in the pink beanie out side has given me the best service from any club in the valley in months. Will definately be coming back for service like that!!

Had a really bad experience, I was kicked out by the security guy for literally no reason. I was inside for 30min had no drinks all night and he sent me out.

Protip: check the ground directly in front of the bar for dropped cash, cards, wallets, phones, etc. I have made a surprising amount of money this way.

Great for a dance, and the quiet area is a great touch for a chat. Only gripe is the main area doesn't fully live up to the 1920s vibe its marketed as.

Nice place, very friendly staff. Would go there again, however, there something missing. Will rewrite review after a reassessment next time I go there.
