Ive been debating writing this review but have come to the conclusion to share my experience. I came in to see a “covering provider” after passing a kidney stone. (I brought it in). I was in severe pain (lower back, flank, bladder, stomach) nauseous, dizzy, peeing every 15 minutes, and having chills. The doctor who i will not name out of tact was arrogant, dismissive of my symptoms, and very insensitive. She told me i would not still be having pain since i already passed it and to come back in 2 days to see my regular pcp. I asked her why i would still be having such intense pain and she could not say, since it already passed (she must have said this five times). I told her something didn’t feel right still and that i couldnt bare two more days like this waiting to see her. I asked her if i could have a cat scan to check for more stones and also something for pain relief until then. She told me since “it already passed” “a scan is not necessary”, “usually it's just one stone, and ibuprofen and tylenol should cover it. “ I explained i took the maximum dosage of tylenol and took meloxicam for pre-existing shoulder and knee pain (you cant take additional ibuprofen on this drug). She then explained that the 2.5 vicodin/day that im allowed for other ongoing chronic pain would be what she would do for any regular person with kidney stones. I tried to explain that it wasnt helping and ultimately was treated like i was just there looking for Drugs. She made me feel horrible, abandoned, and uncared for. For a regular person this would probably cut it. But ive been responsibly taking these meds for years for other issues, not extra pain on top of what i already have. What are chronric pain patients supposed to do? Grin and bear it for these random health issues that we have no control over? I cannot help that i have these issues but am somehow treated less than or that somehow its my fault? I felt discriminated against and as a 40 year old woman just trying to enjoy the small things in life coping with sjogrens, fm, neuropathy, joint issues, disability etc etc that i now have to deal with this stress? As if kidney stones wasn’t stressful enough? Lets add a doctor denying passionate care to those begging for help. I get were in the midst of serious opoid abuse chrisis, its THOSE people that have made my life so hard. It would also be great if doctors were reminded every now and then that some people truly need the pain control. To add to this situation i asked two people, the assistant and the supervisor (while in tears at this point) why i couldnt at the least get a cat scan and they said because the covering provider cant do that only the pcp can order it. I questioned it over and over becauae i knew it was bologna. I came out crying and my husband was angry. We decided to go back in and get my stone and take it somewhere else where i might get some resemblance of medical care. The doctor herself comes out into the waiting area where im still visibly upset and starts getting aggressive discussing my private medical information IN FRONT OF OTHER PATIENTS!!!! And all the front desk staff. Isnt this against hippa laws? She starts saying stuff like “oh do you just want a shot?! Oh wait u cant because of the contract you have”. At that point i turned away and had no words. Thankfully my husband was strong enough not to lose it and kindly asked for my kidney stone back. She demanded to know which ER we were going to before we left. We ended up spending 8 hours in the ER where they did indeed scan me to find a second stone. Controlled my pain, and treated me with dignity and respect. My husband missed a day and a half of wages driving me to get care. Shame on this office. I just have to hang my head and wonder what our system has come to. Where someone going through Health problems has nothing but hopes and prayers. I currently have yet to pass this other stone, am still in excruciating pain (but they keep saying i shouldnt have that much pain) with all the other above symptoms and this office has done NOTHING for me.

A patient with this clinic since opening I’ve been forced to move on. An RN by profession over 31 years, I’ve witnessed numerous changes. My MD retired, whom was exceptional, caring and competent. Right away I established a new primary MD, or so I thought. A few weeks later assuming I would receive quality care as in past, I reached out with a pressing time sensitive issue. For an entire month I received poor communication in an untimely manner. I was asked to make appointments which I did, but were scheduled days to weeks out, then canceled by them last minute with no explanation, forcing me to reschedule, again several days out. A month (plus) later while at the second re-scheduled appointment, I was assured my time sensitive issue would be addressed “that”afternoon. Expressing my skepticism, I reluctantly left the clinic. As anticipated, NO resolution. Called clinic at opening hour the next day, several attempts over a 3 hour window, received recording: “we are temporarily unavailable, please call back”. TWO days later they reach out a few minutes to closing not allowing me time to call back before they closed (for the weekend). Placed in a difficult position, I was forced to find healthcare elsewhere, not an easy task for my now DIRE issue despite my early self advocacy. I was not provided an explanation of their poor practice actions, or even a courtesy of an apology of the rude, dishonest and disrespectful treatment I received. Beyond disappointing, as a long time, low maintenance client of 30 + years, I assumed I would receive better care. Should have moved on sooner, despite my gut intuition. My advice beyond don’t use this clinic, when a health provider first shows disrespectful treatment, and/or the system is poorly run, move on. It likely won’t get better.

Dr Lydia canceled her appointment today as we were getting ready to go to the appointment this morning. I know emergencies happen but these people have no clue that you make these appointments out of your tight schedule. You wait 3 months to see a physician and when it's time, it gets canceled. And the scheduler says the next available appointment the doctor has is in a month from now, and she's booked until then. That's where I don't understand. So, whoever is scheduled to see Dr Lydia next week is lucky enough to see her when I was supposed to see her today and I get pushed all the way 4 weeks later. So unfair. The attitude of the scheduler was not appropriate as well. It feels as if she was saying and repeating a rehearsed line over and over again. All I'm saying is, one, the system needs to be adjusted in a way that when our appointment we waited fore 3 months gets canceled, we would be the first ones to be seen by the doctor the first day they come back to work. Because I don't have to get punished for something that's not my problem. Secondly, the scheduler's need to love their work or find some other career. They need to be apologetic, sympathetic, and try to put themselves in our shoes. I will take my mom to urgent care anyway. We were trying to avoid that. There's no way she could wait another month. I would have rated less than 1 star if I had options. I usually don't write reviews but today I was extremely disappointed.

I like my doctor here, and she is the only thing tethering me to this practice. Every year, they decline in every aspect of their business/care. Impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone. Today, I have called numerous times to simply make an appointment, and have waited on hold so long that I had to give up to attend work meetings. Other times, they don't pick up at all and there is just a "we can't answer the phone now call back later" type of message with no option to leave a message. Appointments are hard to come by and must be scheduled ridiculously far out. I consistently have to wait at least 30 minutes to be seen even when I arrive on time. There is a general sense of this clinic being woefully understaffed, unsupported, and really just too busy and burned out to care much about advocating for patients. Trying to get simple HEALTH CARE here is an extremely lonely, frustrating and confusing experience. Things need to fundamentally change.

My PCP/Pediatrician at this location is WONDERFUL. My kids love her, and she's is amazing with them, as well. My son was a NICU preemie baby, & she helped calm so much of our fears & worries, when he first came home. She listens to my concerns about myself and my children, she takes her time to listen and explain everything. Her and her assistants, are very nice and respectful. I am glad to of found an amazing pediatrician/PCP. When I was going through PPD with my daughter, she explained how valid my feelings were, and took the time to talk to me & make sure that we were okay before leaving her office. I would highly recommend Dr. Kathryn Rompala, to anyone and everyone, that goes to Gateway Family Medicine.

I have had the same primary for over 20 years. She and her staff have always treated me well. She listens, asks the right questions, and is always compassionate. There were years where the pain was so bad I couldn’t get through a routine check up without crying. Even so, she treated me with respect and kindness. When I needed referrals, they were to good providers, and done quickly. Then my primary read their exam notes and changed my plan of care to reflect the new information. I couldn’t ask for a better doctor to be the central clearing house for my complicated medical problems: 8 surgeries, 16 fractures, a syndrome of auto-immune disorders, etc.

I actually love my kids doctor there, Dr. Daniel Rosenberg M.D. He is knowledgeable and takes his time (in a very efficient way) with you to make sure you are comfortable and have all your questions answered. There was even a few times I messaged through mychart and his response was quick. Yes the front desk service does lack a bit of hospitality but meh...they checked you in and we don't need much more than that. I'm not sure about the rest of the doctors or team but I would highly recommend Dr. Rosenberg for your child. Unfortunately, we moved or else we'd still be there.

Awful experience! My husband needed a COVID test and was told to make an appointment for the next day. So he did. Then, after waiting 20 minutes on the day of his appointment he’s told they have no tests. He could wait for a doctor to get a test but that would be a 2 hour wait, 2 hours while he’s struggling with a 102 degree fever. Then, they recommend a drive through place in Tigard (TIGARD!!). So we drive there and it’s closed. The absolute worst experience. Don’t deserve any stars.

I really like my Dr and my kids doctor but we have been going here for almost 4 years now and I have yet to see my kids Dr or mine in less than 40 minutes. They are always always overbooked. Today they actually let me know this time that it was going to be a long wait instead of letting me sit in the exam room wondering why I'm still sitting there. I told them there was no way I was waiting 40 minutes and unfortunately this will be the last time I or my children go here.

I almost always recommend this practice. I have had the same provider for 20 years. My son and husband have both come to this office for primary care. My young adult son has had great care for mental health from his primary there and follow ups have been timely and via zoom during this pandemic. I highly recommend Dr. Kristen Kocher, Dr. Barbara Lang and Dr. Matsen (forgot her first name).

My family's doctor has gotten extremely lazy. My autistic son has had sleep issues for years and he is absolutely no help. Just keeps giving us the runaround. My partner has been having issues with her thyroid and he just told her she was fat and needed to lose weight. Calling providence today to get a new doctor who will actually do their job and not waste our time.

  • Colleen Jessup

I see a doctor in this practice who is fine, but that’s only after I was prescribed four medications by the same doctor and a pharmacist brought up serious interactions and declined to fill the prescription for safety reasons. As a lady, I loved being told that my increasing migraines were “stress” and being given a dangerous prescription instead of being listened to

I'm giving this clinic a one star purely on the fact that the wait time on the phone to get an appointment is too unpredictable. I've waited 45 minutes before, sometimes 25, sometimes 40 when it just hangs up on me. I think 15 minutes max should be a fair standard. I know folks are busy but let's be reasonable here!

  • Andrew Oates

My family and I have been going to this clinic for nearly 20 years. We've had nothing but great experiences. Many of these years we've had Dr. Shields as our PCP. She has been fantastic in helping to help keep my family healthy and helping to prevent illness, while listening to our concerns and showing compassion.

  • Mitchell

Said multiple times I did not want any tests done that are not covered by my health care plan. They agreed, then i find out two months later I owe hundreds of dollars. Scam artists here. Avoid if you don't want to get slapped with hidden charges. Will not be going back.

Everybody at the front counter is rude as hell. No common courtesy or respect given and are extremely difficult to talk to you and very direct. Doctors and nurses are extremely nice though. So if you don't mind dealing with a b**** at the front counter go ahead go here

  • Carlna T

I don't know if they have too many patients ir not enought employees. Their staff is doing very slow in paperwork and not very professional in calls. I hope they pay attention soon because we depend on them for other stuff to more around medically. Thanks

Does not have doctor at the time I went there, only Physician Assistance. I went there and asked to see a doctor to ask about what can I do to prevent further damage or worsen when I had some unknown corrosive acid dropped on me. A PA come

They are often rude checking you in, the nurses and doctors simply state what you already know from googleing the problem yourself, and suggest you follow up with a dr and then by the time you get to the dr your symptoms have increased to
