This is my 2nd time using them which was my fault, I tried to give them another chance. The service and arrangements of your family remains goes as promised but that's it. Anthony Kay is very polite but after the services try calling him or emailing him! His voicemail is full and he never returns your phone calls or text, he even blocked my phone number. They do not believe in updating you on anything they promised that has not been done. He owes me some money as the contracted states a different price as to what they actually submitted to the insurance company, I have yet to receive the refund as promised and am too exhausted to fight with them. It took them almost a year to get my mom's headstone and 4 months just to get my son's name on it. They are so unprofessional and don't communicate with customers or amongst one another obviously. I myself, had to fax over a single piece of paper to the man that was to sandblast my son's name on the headstone as Vanessa regretted to inform me it needed to be signed all these months I waited and she kept saying she emailed it to him several times (without my required signature) which he says he never received, but I reached out to him myself, signed the paper and emailed it to him, the job was completed the next day after I wanted 4 months for them!!! Needless to say no one in my family will EVER use them again!!!!!!!!!

Our family laid our sweet Dorothy Mae to rest, and Pruitt’s in the heights did an outstanding job. From the planning to the burial ground, we were in their utmost care and a priority. The receptionist is lovely, professional, and punctual. She was very accommodating. Very pleased with her professionalism. Rev. Eric Wilson was the most understanding and patient with our family. He was adamant in making sure our family received the best care from beginning to end. It was like he was a part of our family. Very detail-oriented, personable, and direct in organizing the service. We chose Rev. Wilson to deliver the Eulogy, and we’re pleased with the words he blessed us with. He spoke so kindly about our sweet Dorothy and was spot on with who she was and the legacy she left. The two ladies who prepared our sweet “Muh” for her homegoing did an excellent job. They did her hair and makeup beautifully. Every request we had, they were receptive and forthcoming. The staff overall are without a doubt a great team. I highly recommend their services, and they were well worth every penny spent. They made sure our Mother’s home going was perfect.

Pruitt’s In The Heights service and staff was phenomenal from the beginning to the end. The very first day me, my Aunt Bern, Cousin Kasha, Uncle Mark, Mrs. Cookie, and family went in to your office to plan and make funeral arrangements for my Uncle Lynn “Boo Boo” Lewis we felt welcomed from the start. Ms. Bobb was very supportive and knowledgeable of any questions, cares, or concerns we had. She is the BEST! Mrs. Linda was very nice and sweet. She has a very concerned and caring spirit you will never forget. We appreciate each of you and Mr. Von you always ensure quality, care, and support. You are one of a kind and Thank You for always making sure we were satisfied. My Uncle looked peaceful. Kind Regards to all... I’ve seen all the reviews, both good and bad. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but now here’s mine. A women that I loved dearly and more than life, died naturally late on a Friday night. I reached out to Mr. Kay, and he responded immediately, in order to set my unforeseen journey on the right course. With a wide range of variables to deal with, he and his staff made it a very easy and a comfortable experience to tackle the difficult task of my mother’s final wishes, while navigating through these uncharted waters. So now that we’re all done and mom has been laid to rest, I can share with all, my own personal review. As one of the single surviving family owned and operated mortuaries in Houston and has the reputation to prove it. Trust me, Pruitt... is the place to entrust and feel at ease with, while planning and arranging your family and love ones eternal well-being, right to the very end. I Thank God for them every day.

Originally we were going to use a different funeral home but the director at La Paz demonstrated no sympathy(we actually felt like we were bothering him and all he cared about was getting paid) after that encounter I reached out to Pruitts in the Heights and immediately they took over. Ms. Bobb’s professionalism,words of comfort, and availability made us feel like we had made the right move. Ms. Nikki was very attentive and took care of all the additional requests we had. Overall, all the staff was great! The service rooms were beautiful! They made our vision come to reality when it came down to how we wanted my grandfather to look. He looked handsome and peaceful resting. I am definately recommending Pruitts to all my friends and family. Thank you so much for the great hospitality.

I met Pastor Wilson through my mother in law and her friend. He immediately reached out and made me feel at ease. I was so grateful to have someone to speak with to help me through what was an extraordinary and difficult process. In the midst of several emotions and decisions that had to be made, I felt I had a hand to carry me through. I was especially grateful that Pruitt was adaptable and adjusted to my request for a fully virtual funeral. Due to my father passing because of Covid and the age range of his colleagues and friends, I was concerned that a live funeral would become a super spreader event. Thankfully, although brand new to them, Pastor Wilson and the Pruitt staff met my needs. I highly recommend Pruitt for any family in this difficult yet inevitable situation.

The worst experience ever, when you have family and step family dealing with the burial of your Dad. Pruitt was not and does not know how to handle a situation when two parties are not agreeing. We were told that they would only deal with the person that signed the contract which was the step and we were not told this in the beginning. We were not allowed to view our Dads body without the step being there or his program until the day of the funeral of which I wrote up and the step made changes to. Once we say the program the day of the funeral it was one sided and it had misspelling in it. No one should ever have to go thru this so be very careful when dealing with Anthony, Kay and Venessa. They are all unprofessional and communication is terrible.

Anthony Kay , Don’t take him for face value , he will say what you want to hear or what he knows is right , I will never ever in my life time use him again , Please don’t trust him with your insurance money , I was the beneficiary of my Best friend insurance and he came all the way to Dallas Texas , with all the promises to do right , he received the check on Sept 8 , 2019 and I haven’t received the balance yet , now I am going to tell you why . He gave to the daughter yep he did and no she wasn’t the beneficiary on the policy. I am not done with this . I made a promise to my best friend to do what she wanted .... Do Not Give This Place your Insurance Money .......Mad Women who was Feed lies ....

The experience I had with Pruitt Mortuary was a circus act from the time my father passed away. Not one thing I asked of them was done, from grooming my father to the travel to the cemetery. They completely left the whole funeral behind to go to the cemetery, then they have a blow out tire on the freeway with no spare tire. Now its been over a month and I and my wife are calling to get the death certificate and there still giving me the run around. I really think some type of fraud is going on with Pruitt Mortuary and Angela Miles and my fathers death. I will be contacting the authorities to find out why i cant get any professionalism out of Pruittt. I wouldn't advise anyone to ever use them.

Today was the homegoing service for my Grandmother Mary Alice Douglas Cottrell. Pruitt exceeded the expectations of our family. The staff was so professional, well dressed and groomed to perfection and on-time with service. They were well-spoken with exquisite presentation and a natural sense of comfort to my family. The facility was extremely clean, updated, warm welcoming, beautiful and all around elegant. I can't leave this review without complimenting the musician. His voice brought joy to your hearts and tears of remembrance to our soul. Planning a funeral can be a complicated process, especially if it’s your first time, as it was for me… but Mrs Loreal Lacey made the process as easy as I could ever image. From start to finish she handled everything and made suggestion from her years of experience in areas where I was mentally not able to or didn’t even think about. She delivered on every timeline and statement she made. The service was all what I expected and more. Loreal and the other members of Pruitts in the Heights made me and my family feel comfortable and at ease which allowed us the ability to pay our respect to my mother without any worries. On January 14, 2023, I attended the funeral service of my church member Miola Donahue Laws at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. It was a beautiful service. Steve Wonder her adopted son did a musical tribute to her. The service was Entrusted to Pruitt’s in the Heights. This funeral home did an AWESOME job from start to finish. They had the most beautiful tall pedestal for the vases with flowers out in the vester view of the church next to the sign-in book. They were very professional and polite at all times. I would highly recommend Rev. Eric Wilson and his staff for handling funeral arrangements for your loved ones.

Ms. Christia Bobb and the staff at Pruitt's In the Heights did a great job handling my mother's funeral services. Ms. Bobb was diligent and respectful throughout the entire process. She was patient with me and answered all of my questions. She helped throughout the process explaining the steps involved from when my mom's body was received from the hospital to when she was laid to rest in the cemetery and each step in between. Also, Pruitt's In the Heights has contacted me after my mom's funeral to check on me and to see if I need anything such as words of comfort or someone to talk to as I go through the grieving process.

These guys was the best from the beginning to the end. They gave the family that comfort that was needed to pull through that tough time of losing a love one and the prices was very reasonable. I would recommend these people to anyone dealing with a loss of a love one because they are a great team that is willing to work with you through that time of a lost one. My father Pastor James Earl Young was made perfect as if he was never gone but was just resting. Thank you so very much on behalf of my family .You did a wonderful job with Pastor James Earl Young. The Pruitt's Staff is absolutely AMAZING! To say that they went above and beyond is an understatement! You all took care of every single detail for us and made this time of heartache a little smoother. Ms. Bobb and her team are truly amazing!! When they say they are available to you, they really are. We were treated with respect the entire time. Ms. TT is very thorough and is good about following up. She also created a beautiful obituary. My brother looked like himself and many of our family and friends commended us on how nice he looked, stating he looked like himself just laying there in peace. On the day of the homegoing celebration our driver, Ms. Jamesha treated my family with honor, compassion and respect. She is a great driver too.

This is the WORSE funeral home ever. Their work is horrible, they're very rude and unprofessional. They showed absolutely no compassion for the family. Ms Bobb is going to take this company down!! Her attitude is terrible. The entire staff needs a training on how to show compassion to a family that's mourning they are very unorganized. If I could give them a -5 star rating I would. Please DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use them for your loved ones home going celebration. Now I see why they have had issues with THE STATE in 2020

Pruitt In the Heights provided a wonderful experience when it came to my brothers funeral. The professionalism and compassion was A++ all the way. They made us feel comfortable in planning the arrangements to sealing the casket. Because of the professionalism of the staff the process was non-traumatic. Burying my brother was one of the hardest things I had to do, but I am grateful to Pruitt because they helped me not to feel lost during the process. They were able to guide us through and not rush.

Having Pruitt’s perform my grandmother’s service was a beautiful experience. My mother, being the only child, did not know where to begin with the process. Mary Kay was extremely understanding, patient and detailed with the process. I was amazed with how beautiful my grandmother looked, along with the casket, flowers, obituary, etc. Everyone who played a part was nothing less than professional and welcoming. Pruitt’s definitely took a weight from our shoulders during this difficult time.

We used Pruitt's mortuary for our love ones burial in November. Everything they promised to do was done only when you called over and over again. I wouldn't use them or would I refer them to anyone. I have repeatedly called for death certificates I was to receive and have not not gotten all I requested. The employees don't seem to be knowledgeable of the status of the request. Numerous calls have met with negative results.

There is so much I can say words can't explain. Programs were to be corrected 4 hours before funeral. Assured all corrections done. Did not see program until funeral and original errors corrected but new ones surfaced with black line above and below picture. Tried 6 times over 2 years calling and also left messages and went to funeral home speaking to his wife. No return calls from Mr Kay. All I wanted was 10 corrected copies. Sad

Unfortunately we had to attend the service for a beautiful soul Ms Mary and family today. The service was so heartfelt and passionate from the Pruitt staff. They were friendly, knowledgeable, empathic and serious about celebrating the life of Ms. Mary. Pruitt staff are respectful, caring and attentive. Thanks for helping the family make her home going a celebration.

Pruitt's in the Heights is one of the best funeral homes in the business. They are professional,compassionate,& accommodating. Their administrator Lady Nikki Jordan is one of the best in the business. She's prompt and diligently ensures the families she's serving are well taken care of. This is the worst funeral home ever!!! I would not recommend to any one.. I guess you get what you pay for.. smh. My father did not even look close to my father was a different person .. and also they have slow process of getting deaths certificates in.. and the director for the services she was rude to the family.

I do not Recommend this service to anyone. One of the lady's was very rude who works there basally it was no Compassion whatsoever. Also if you are obese they do not have chair's for you to fit in. If you really love your love one's do not use this Funeral Home. Stay bless....
