This is the worst place to rent a space from. I've had a 5x10 unit since 3/23 and paying $74/month. Rent is going up to $115/month after only 5 months. Today, 8/3, I went to the facility and tried to gain access in my "designated" entry doors and 1 elevator was broken (no sign) and the other elevator didn't work and I was trapped inside it for about 7-8 minutes. I called the office 3 times and no answer so I had no choice but to push the 911 call button and when they finally answered after 3 minutes I was advised on how to open the door by holding the 1 button for 10 seconds and that opened the door. I walked to the office and as usual the doors were locked and nobody was there. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times since I have been renting a space at this location. I explained to Gerald what happened and I asked if he could open the doors to the other entry access so I could get into my storage unit as my app only allows me access to a particular entry point. Gerald flat out told me he did not have access to open those doors for me and that I would have to use the stairs. My unit is on the 3rd floor and what I needed to move out would have taken 3-4 trips up and down the stairs and into my car including something that weighs roughly 100lbs. I explained that to him and he didn't care. Surely the employees and manager have complete access to gain entry through every door on the property and while I was nothing but nice to Gerald, I personally believe he made a decision not to help me because he was in a position of power and used it. This is my opinion and what I believe because he could have easily opened the door for me and allowed me to use an elevator that worked and he refused. Additionally, 2 or 3 times that I have been there to move something into or out of my unit, the office has been locked and nobody was there to give me a key to unlock the push carts. This location is poorly run and people should read this review and take it seriously and stay away from this location and all Public Storage facilities. I will be moving my things out in the coming days now that my house is ready to move into on 8/15 but this experience with this location has been horrible.

The rent they lure you in with is a lie. I went from $127 -> $197. Here's how (i.e. don't trust their listed prices): Public storage likes to use "teaser rates" the first 3 months. After that, they jack up the price. My 10'x10' unit was listed for $127/mo. After 3-4 months, it was jacked up to $164. Because I didn't have many options at the time, I didn't move. Here we are, 2 years and 2 months of on-time direct deposit payments. How do they reward loyalty? By jacking up the price to $197, of course, and adding some useless insurance. Did they warn me at all of a price change? NO. Email header had no details on the increase. You have to LOOK INSIDE to see changes. Not only this, the last review I made for this place wasn't made by me. An employee literally took the phone out of my hand and added his own review. I was so shocked at his boldness I didn't do anything, lest I fear retaliation. Word to the wise: don't use public storage more than 2 months. You will be guaranteed a 30% increase in rent once you're nice and settled, and they will not inform you, but simply quietly keep billing. Their newest money grab? If you get behind, they'll charge you a $50 deposit for their "Combination Lock Deposit" which "will be refunded once your account is brought current and you return our lock to us." Don't expect to have any control over the leasing terms with Public Storage. Their "genius" execs will introduce all kinds of fees with little fanfare. Meanwhile, their doors keep on being broken and all kinds of homeless people are walking back and forth through the property day and night. I hope these people are safe and find what they need and take advantage of this horrible, faceless company that has zero compassion when people have tough times.

First time storage renter here and I’m glad I went with Public Storage! At first, I did the reservation online but I wasn’t able to come so I tried setting up another reservation online however, for some reason, it wasn’t letting me do another so I called and they were not very helpful. So I decided to go to the physical location which unfortunately they only do by appointment so i had to call again to set it up another day which was frustrating but the day of my appointment an employee, Coco, assisted me in getting another reservation set and she also pointed out that I was reserving the wrong storage unit compared to what I wanted so thank goodness I came in person. She was amazing and explained the process well. So I recommend you make an appointment to come in person especially if you are a first time renter like me! Coco had me all set up for the move-in. I just needed to make the payment online for me to be able to finalize everything but unfortunately they were having technical issues. So they instructed me to come in person to make the payment for the unit. I had called the property manager, Gerald, and informed him I was coming over and he was very accommodating. When I arrived, he welcomed me and was very nice and and directed me to my unit while answering any questions I had. I may have had a bad experience thru the phone and online but with the service they provided in person it definitely was worth giving a second try .

Excellent customer service and very clean location. I needed a climate controlled storage unit and booked here online. When I showed up, I was confused about how to get inside the gate. I stepped in the office, and Gerald patiently walked me through how to use the app. He also introduced me to his team and told me these are the people who are always around to help if I need anything. He then walked me out to the gate to show me how to use the app to open it. He gave me the most methodical, descriptive, accurate, and helpful instructions and details on exactly where to go to load my unit and exactly how to find my unit. Later when I went to load my unit and walked inside, it looked like a maze. But I followed Gerald's specific instructions and easily found my unit. Big thank you to Gerald.

Easy to access and I really love the app. Having that in your pocket to gain access to the gate as doors without having to type in a code every single time is a game changer. Prices are pretty darn affordable as well. My only complaint is why they barely have the air conditioner running in the climate controlled storage area especially in 110° Austin heat. I would bet it was about 87° -90° degrees inside the climate controlled warehouse which is ridiculous in my. If you're paying for climate-controlled then the climate should be controlled in all aspects. Not to mention rhy toes of customers valuables can't handle being stored in those types of conditions.

Everything I had in the open air of the unit ended up with mold all over it. I got charged way more than I was expecting. They got the rates wrong or increased the costs without telling me. Either way I ended up with moldy books and I lost tons more money than I expected. And on top of that over and over I point out the problems and the location ignores me, the bosses ignore me. I've complained through email and Facebook messenger and everything else. They don't care. I never would've gotten that big a unit if the price was accurate. And never would go with this brand if I knew how little they care.

This is the best public storage in north Austin area from my experience. Facility is well maintained and kept very clean. Management is always available and helpful in many ways. I forgot to lock my storage unit before a long trip abroad, property manager Gerald who’s has been working here for 15 years helped me to put a lock on the unit first thing in the morning. I would certainly recommend this public storage to anyone with storage needs.

Coco and Gerald are amazing! We had to deal with a change of plans and ended up needing storage last minute. Gerald walked us around the entire facility and we were able to get the units we needed. Coco helped us sign up on site and made it Elbert easy for us. Both individuals were so friendly and helpful. This facility is clean and secure and based on my experience this far, I would highly recommend it!

Gerald the property manager is the most patient and personable person I’ve met in a long time. He first took his time walking a lady with no technology ability and was super empathetic to my waiting. missed my reservation but public storage helped me set up at another location, it is secure and accessible, and the pricing is competitive with extra space storage. The journal the customer service associate we dealt with was very professional, and it's made our stay with you all very easy. Even though we've been behind, we haven't been in dangerous losing our stuff because you're on top of calling us and make it sure we know so we really appreciate it and I wouldn't go anywhere else for storage, right?

Property is nice & secure! They make the process easy for renters to move in. They also offer free cart rentals to help move in, just need to leave your ID at the front desk until returning it. Gerald was awesome! He was very friendly & gave me a tour of the property while explaining all the features of the facility.

Nicole and Gerald were extremely helpful; Nicole took time to walk through me the property and show availability for the different units and helped me get into a space that better fit my needs. Location is proximal to multiple highways and the interior climate controlled units feel very secure and safe.

Rented a space off Lamar while I am away from Austin during the winter season. Rented small, and needed an upgrade. Gerald at Lamar location made it easy to be able to transfer to a bigger spot right next to my other unit. Highly recommend this location

Not climate controlled! 94 Degrees in my unit. Unit got the lock cut off and broken into and I got robbed. Homeless people sleeping in facility. Much more expensive than other places. They arbitrarily raise the price A LOT. Smells like urine. Dirty.

Moving and storage is never any fun. What makes it easier is when you deal with folks like Gerald and public storage who both maintain great customer service. They made my experience much easier and stress free than I ever imaged. Thank you!!!

This Public Storage is GREAT! The buildings are spacious, there's plenty of parking and the staff are helpful. Gerald was especially great and ensured I was taken care of while moving things out of my apartment and into my unit.
