This was the second time I had an awful experience at public storage and as a result as I informed the staff I would never consider using them again. After purchasing furniture at Costco I need it to temporarily store it in a safe clean environment which led me to calling public storage for unit for 2 to 3 months. On the phone I specifically asked for a climate controlled unit in a local public storage that did not have any rodent problems. I was assured and directed specifically to this public storage. Over the phone and made a reservation in which I was told to follow the email and the entire order and transaction can be done without going into the office. The unit I reserved was supposed to be air conditioned and I was going to receive a free lock. With all the furniture loaded on the truck I drove up to the public storage and something made me hesitate signing the contracts online, thankfully. When I answered the location they informed me that the unit was not climate controlled and that a lock would be an additional $20. And for them this is the second time this has happened to me with public storage and in fact it was unacceptable to be lied to just so some reservations agent can book another reservation. However, since I had the furniture with me my options were limited. They assured me that this unit would not be too hot. I questioned as how that could be possible here in the Arizona heat of an outdoor basically garage space. They offered to show me the space for which I walked with two agents of public storage. During the course of our walk without exaggeration I picked up and handed to the woman at least 12 to 15 screws and nails. I inform them that that was not okay because I really don't want to get a flat tire coming to my storage space. I asked them if they maintain the parking lot with a magnetic roller type room so that this doesn't occur. It was clear as these screws and nails were dispersed over such a large area they weren't just a recent incident that precipitated the origin. They then attempted to get me a smaller unit with the same introductory special. However, while they were on the computer I went online and I was able to obtain a climate-controlled space as I ordered for $18 less per month. I stepped out of the office called Life storage and spoke directly with the manager of the facility. He couldn't have been any nicer and in fact assured me of a climate-controlled space for which I would not be subjected to a parking lot filled with nails and screws and in fact it was $18 per month cheaper. I walked back in to the public storage office and inform them that although I was a potential customer with a truckload of furniture I would not be utilizing their services. I was perfectly clear it's not okay to have a reservations agent lie to customers only to show up with a truck full of things to go in storage and being subjected to misrepresentations out of necessity. Furthermore the sheer fact of how messy the parking lot was filled with nails and screws is unacceptable as they probably would not cover the expenses for all the Lost tires that their customers are going to experience. Information I would never use public storage and I would never recommend them to anyone. I inform them their operating procedure and maintenance was unacceptable and demonstrated they have no concern for their customers.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS ONE! It was my first experience, a terrible experience, and my last experience renting a STORAGE unit from here. We rented it online a few days before and arrived with our stuff on the day we said we would get there. Everything was going by well until we drove to the storage that was given to us only to realize it was locked. My fiance called the office then we saw the office guy walking out and getting into a car. He then ran behind his car waving like a crazy person trying to grab his attention, but he still drove off. No one else was in the office, so our busy day was stalled there. My fiance then called customer service and they were little to no help. Eventually, we reached someone helpful and got our money back. I thought that hell was over with. I was wrong there! A few days later another payment went through for $45.56 under "autopay". This was more than the original price I paid for when we were there, which was $36.03. My fiance called again, left a voicemail about the situation and got no response back. I did get a notification that the autopay was canceled, so I assumed it was taken cared of until recently when I saw that the payment went through. Wow! Seems like they'll do anything to get some money, so be careful. My fiance is calling them one last time and if they don't return my money then I will have to contact my bank to get that fixed. Hopefully, it'll be the last time they'll try to take some money that they don't deserve, especially since we didn't end up using their storage unit.

Most all of the reviews are from people that just recently rented a unit. I'm reviewing it after 4 years, and it's a very different experience than a move-in. Public Storage increases the rental rate by 15% a year. None of their costs justify this. I didn't receive notice of the rate increases two out of the last three times, but I did get notice that they were seal coating the pavement. Very odd. I spoke with customer service about the issues, then asked if I could make payment while I had them on the phone. The rep said they charge $20 for taking credit card payment over the phone. What?! The online payment is quirky. I'll make payment and not get a confirmation. This is something new. The first time I figured payment didn't go through since I didn't receive confirmation, so I repeated the process. Made a double payment... Log out and back on, and it's still asking for payment. Now I know it's gone through and doesn't show up for a while. Funny how that can only work to Public Storage's benefit. I've rented storage space at six or eight different places in three different states, and never had issues. I added a star because the counter people are always helpful, though they only return calls about fifty percent of the time when you leave a message. Very disappointing experience.

I’ve had couple of issues with this location. Consistent price increase, even though online prices were much lower. When asked about price match, I was told that I can cancel and rebook online. I would have to pay an additional admin fee. Second problem was that I was paying extra for air conditioning unit. AC was out for over 2 months and when I asked the front desk about price adjustment since I’m paying for something that I’m not getting, she rudely told me that they don’t guarantee what temperature will AC be set at (when reserving the unit i was reassured that the temperature will be 81 degrees during the summer). On top of that their app never works, it’s very dirty around (nobody ever picks up the trash I would see the same trash sitting in the same spot for 2+ weeks in a row), and very questionable people “hanging” around the property and gate. Finally got fed up and went with different company that actually provides what they promise.

I was renting unit 1301, a 10x20 for $236/month. a couple of moths later they increased my rent to $331.34 without a notice. i filed a complaint but it was denied. I tried to call several times per day prior to the end of May but nobody answered. Finally around 7-8 am on June 1st, I asked my friend to go and get my car out because I am traveling wiyh my job and I am outside the country. Finally the manager answered the phone on June 1st and told me as long as the lock is off the unit he will cancel the agreement. a couple of hours later I've received an e-mail that I owe $331.34 because I took out the car 7.5 hours late. the car should've been out the night before but never told me this during the call. I called and filled a complaint and didn't receive an answer therefore I called today and I was told that my billing dispute was rejected. Try to stay away, they rip people off. I plan on calling the BBB and see what I could do !!!

My previous review states that their rates were fair, but within a few months of moving in, we get a notice saying that our rate has gone up by 25% with no reason given. I have reached out to the office manager about this to see what can be done since I agreed to get a unit for $200 a month, not $250 a month. I was told that is just the way it is, and if I decide to move out, to make sure I clean the unit out and take my lock with me. This company could care less about their customers or running an ethical business, they obviously just raise your rate in hopes to get more money out of you since it is such a pain to move to another unit, which we will be doing regardless of the inconvenience because I refuse to continue using a company that is going to extort more money from their customers just from sheer greed. You could have at least made it clear that there would be rate increases at random and without reason.

My move in date was this past Saturday, Aug 13th. When I got there, the gate and app weren’t recognizing my access code so I wasn’t able to get in. I was panicking since I needed to get my stuff in asap, and I wasn’t sure what to do. Thankfully, Val from the front office flagged me down and asked what was wrong. Once I told her what was going on, she immediately jumped into action to help me troubleshoot. She helped me get a new access code, as well as find my unit. She made sure I understood how to work the lock and overall was an absolute angel. I’m very thankful she was there to help me and I feel confident in my decision to go with this storage company. Not only was Val helpful, the units are amazing and high quality, it’s nearby me, and the location is easy to access and navigate. 10/10 would recommend and if I have another issue I hope I can have Val again!

Terrible experience. Rented it on the 12th. Rented a 10 x 7.5 spot. I asked is it really that size, it looks small. On site manager said the spot was 10 x 7.5. My tape measure was in the car. So I believed him. Bad move on my part. Moved some stuff in on the 14th and measured. 7.25 x 8.75, almost 15% less than what I expected. Probably my stuff will not fit in. I feel the manager lied. I stated that I would simply move out and asked for a refund. No go. Only the district manager can do that. Called the district manager. He did not answer and never called back. Moved out on the 15th, less than 72 hours after I rented the unit. Waste of time and waste of money. It took time to write this negative review and my time is important. So I feel strongly about this place being a bad place.

I would not recommend to anyone. super strict rules, no leeway anywhere. I put a unit in my name for someone because they couldn't come with me to open it and do the paperwork. they never switched it and when I paid the past due on the 11th hour so they wouldn't auction her stuff. I explained she was supposed to get her keys to govt. assisted apt the next day but I couldn't count on it could I have till Sunday(2 days later to get her stuff out in case she didn't get keys on time.They said no I would have to pay another months rent and no prorate if I moved out eve a day later. What kind of business doesn't have some kind of leeway? they get 1 star because Google wouldn't let me post with Zero or minus 1 stars

Exceptional storage center! I've had 2 units here for about 3 months, one indoor, and one outdoor. The property is always clean, and I see the lock-checks occurring practically every time I visit. The property is safe, and they make extra sure it stays secure. There is some serious pride of ownership here. Recently, I closed one of my units, and also had an excellent experience. Jessica was the name of the person helping, and she was awesome. Not only did she quickly get me all set for move-out, but she also went the extra mile to make sure my auto-pay was properly shut down for that unit so I wouldn't get charged. She was prompt, very nice and easy to work with. I would recommend this location to anyone.

There are so many choices in Storage Rental "out there" but with the the close proximity to where we live, selecting Public Storage on West Union Hills seemed the obvious choice. We didn't know what to expect but we found a well-organized, clean and well-maintained facility with STELLAR customer service! Rosie helped us, and made us feel like a valued customer. Her friendly demeanor and her knowledge and expertise made the signing-up process painless and fast. She guided us through every step of the electronic onboarding process and answered all our questions thoroughly. I would recommend this facility very highly for anyone looking for a safe and secure location to store their excess belongings.

This is the second review I've done on the public storage in 19th avenue and Union hills the first one wasn't so good actually it was horrible but now that they have change management got rid of the trash the place is much better the new manager Rosie is awesome she really cleaned the place up the units the office she presents herself well in the company as well she has gone above and beyond to make us feel like we should store things here and then it's safe when we had asked for something it when I had asked for something I did not have to wait she did it right then. We are no longer looking to move to a different facility so props to the management for hiring good management

Worst customer service. I moved in on the 9th moved out on the 9th and they charged me a whole month that I will not be there. Never was I told they would not prorate rent. Not until move in day did they tell me that I would need to pay on the 1st not the 9th. This is a shady company who scams the customers. Of course I say fine I will pay on the first when all of my stuff is outside in a truck. There is a pandemic right now and we were told we do not have to pay rent, I paid but you are not refunding me for the rest of the month? Never using public storage and I am telling everyone how I was treated poorly by your staff. I would give zero stars if that were an option.

I never write reviews for businesses but I absolutely have to say that Dave at property number 08007 is fantastic! I was sent to 3 other public storage locations before being sent to him, I was a little frustrated at first but Dave was very inviting and had already pin pointed where the unit I was going to rent was. He wanted to show me the unit first to make sure it was the best option for me. When he started having me sign papers, he explained everything very thoroughly and made sure I understood everything before signing. Dave, I appreciate everything you did and how courteous you were! Public Storage is lucky to have an employee like you! Thank you!

When I walked in I was in a huge hurry and was not the easiest to deal with. I was being quite difficult, but Toni handled my level of difficulty very professionally and she did not take it personally. She actually had me laughing by the end of my visit. I also had the pleasure of the district manager Ryan Lazio being in the building and I have been to a lot of businesses before where the district manager will step in on their managers while they're trying to help customers, but he stood back and observed while engaging in friendly conversation. I was quite impressed with the facility and highly recommend it to anybody looking for self storage.

I don't usually take the time to leave reviews but my experience today was worth noting. The property is nice and well maintained but the customer service is what stood out as stellar. I just moved back to the area and it's been extremely stressful. Joaquin was such a big help today. At a time where customer service seems almost non existent and there's always an excuse on why something isn't what it should be he actually cares. You can hear it when somebody smiles or is truly kind and wants to help. It's service that I haven't experienced in a long time and that is a very valuable employee to have on your team.

i needed a storage unit, joaquin was so helpful with the experience of walking through the entire procedure, everything was clean he told me what what he would do for us, and how everything would work out in the long run. it gave me plenty of confidence that my personal things would be well protected, all i see are good things out of the other reviews left for him, it was surprising it was more like an added benifit. thank you joaquin, give this man a raise sounds like he deserves it, and ill be back to say hello. +very friendly service +very productive +just yes +do it again? of course -David

After a bad experience getting a hold of anyone at another local Public Storage I found it so fortunate to find this one. After a put in a reservation for a unit it was not long before Feather Rae Mgr was on the phone with a cheery welcome. Then the day before our appointment Dave Mgr called to let me know he would be there to check me in and gave me helpful information about how to find the facility. His check-in was smooth and provided the information I needed to complete the rental procedure. I can tell that this is going to be a very good solution for storing my mother-in-laws stuff!

Feather Rae helped me find my storage unit today, and she was amazing. She answered all my questions and was super friendly and helpful. She went out of her way (twice) to make sure my storage unit worked for me and I knew everything I needed to know before renting. You can't beat the $1 special, and the service Feather Rae provided was phenomenal. She even gave me some great tips on how to keep my stuff well protected while in storage. I really couldn't be happier with my rental experience. You have definitely earned a lifelong customer in me from the service she provided today.

I received the wrong number for my rental number, and to make matters worse I wasn't even told that they choose your passcode and we proceeded to wait and 111 degree heat blocking all gates with three vehicles for the person to finish what they were doing to advise me that the card I was given is my actual passcode very disorganized do not go here. On a positive note the young lady who obtained my unit for me was excellent and when I call the 1-800 number the first time to find a public storage the gentleman was wonderful. Once again do not rent here.

Made a reservation to see a unit we were interested in on Thursday. Drove 20 mins and showed up at our reservation time and were turned away by the guy at the front desk saying “We have two people in front of you, can you come back in an hour?” NO, we had a reservation for 10am. We showed up at exactly 10am, you should honor that. Did the other two people have 10am reservations? If so, you screwed up. We aren’t going to drive 20 mins home and then turn around and drive 20 mins back because you won’t honor the reservation we made two days ago.

I had to move from Tucson to Phoenix without much preparation. After researching storage facilities in the Phoenix area, Public Storage had the best rates by far. Feather Rae introduced herself to me with a big smile and a warm welcome. Feather was very professional and extremely helpful in satisfying my storage needs. Feather Rae is by far the sweetest girl I've had the pleasure of meeting on a customer service side of things. I recently lost my job so having a hard time staying on top of bills having to pay things little at a time. When having to explain this to her she was completely understanding and explained my options very clearly as to any late fees and time frames. Rosie was very pleasant and willing to help me with what she could. My unit was broken in to almost a month ago and I explained I've been trying since the break in to get footage over to the officer I filed the report with. Feather Rae was absolutely incredible during a very stressful situation. My husband and I were dealing with an absolute nightmare with a long distance moving company that placed us between a rock and hard place. We needed a storage unit, literally within minutes, that had an outdoor entrance that would not require more than 50 feet of walking to get to. Luke helped me get set up in my 10 by 10 unit. Very high ceilings and I got a locker near the front. The unit was dusty; it probably needed to be pressure washed before I moved in. Otherwise, the move in and purchase process was smooth. Luke did a good job. Time will tell whether or not I will keep my storage unit with Public Storage. I am worried about price increases every six months. And I am uncertain of the temperature inside of the unconditioned units during the summer months.

Rosie has the best customer service that I have seen in a very long time. I stopped in on my way home from work and asked about a space. Rosie was so helpful, she did not have what I was looking for but she took the time to look at other properties for what i was looking for. Unfortunately she did not find what i want. I do not want to go any further than 7th ave and union hills. I really appreciate the time and effort that Rosie took to help me out. We need more people like Rosie.

Worst experience ever! They auctioned off my brothers storage and he wasn't behind on his payments! They didn't even notify my brother it was going to auction! My brother is currently hiring a lawyer and is trying to recover everything. If anyone knows who purchased a storage unit on December 31st at Public Storage on 1954 W. Union Hills Drive Phoenix, Arizona 85027 please let me know. We would appreciate the return of that unit that is being reported as stolen property.

Spent WEEKS trying to get a hold of the District Manager for this location. Would not answer the phone or call me back. We were charged an extra month of rent and according to the store manager and customer service we HAD to speak with the District Manager to have it fixed. Thank you for STEALING money from us and refusing to even speak with me on the matter. We will never ever use public storage again even if we have to pay more with a different company.

Horrible place! 11:00 pm woman runs up to me begging to use my phone. No problem. Her car is behind locked gate, she cannot get her car out. Code it not working, she is new to the facility. Knocked on the 24 hr security guards door, he refused to help, said his 'kids were sleeping, call the # on the code box". NO ANSWER to that # given. Just a recording over and over ... the woman had to call a friend to come get her for the night and leave her car!

I love public storage there’s a lady there who always has a good attitude and is very nice.she always has a great smile on her face and greets us everyday. I love it. She keeps the whole storage area clean and she doesn’t let nothing past her.she does a great job and always asks us if we need water.she’s even there when I need to talk to someone.if you need a storage space come to here she’s got you covered and will make sure you leave very happy.

Although this business is very clean and safe for ours tuff. I'm giving it a low rating because in less than in a 14 month span they have raised the monthly Rent from approximately $250 to approximately $450. Basically a $200 monthly cost That is insane it's hard to move everything out and into a new facility since we work full time and the cost of renting a moving truck etc. We have the 10'x30' packed full roughly 3000 cubic feet.

I moved in to this storage facility a few months ago and have already received notice that they are raising my rates 20%. I understand rate increases happen but this is an excessive increase after such a short time of being there. It is an obvious tactic of theirs to get people in the door and then jack up the rates once they are moved in. It's a shady business practice and I will happily take my business elsewhere.

I used to have a unit at this location. I found it to be extremely clean and the hours were great. We had a 10x10 unit in the AC. I've spoken with Kyle on numerous occasions previously and today with Deborah while inquiring on getting another unit roughly the same size and she was very helpful with tons of information! The customer service is great enough to have me coming back after so many years. Thank you.

great facilities and even better staff at the complex, I was helped by a Mr Joaquin during the time and this employee was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Joaquins service was top notch and reliable, his performance should be lauded and recognized for he is outstanding among his peers. If I'm ever in the area again I will be sure to come back to this employee to receive the same superior performance.

I reserved a 10x15 unit. I measured the unit and it is only 10x13.5? False advertisement. Unit was not properly cleaned out from prior renter. Spider webs with dirt and debris on roll up door. Also there was multiple tears/damage on ceiling with insulation hanging out? For the price I've paid, I'm not happy with this unit but I have no other choice at this time but to continue using it.

My son is moving back to Phoenix from Utah in the next few weeks and I have to find a storage location. I have never rented storage before and stopped in the location for some information. I meet with Dave and he took the time to go over my storage needs and showed me several different size spaces. He was very helpful and polite, I will be back in the next few weeks to reserve a space.

Dave Custard is the man!!!!! I had a unit that was too big for me and Dave was able to assist me with a smaller unit and saved me some money. His communication is a breath of fresh air and it's nice to do business with people who follow through with what they say. IF you go to the Union Hills location ask for Dave Custard he will definitely take care of you!!!!

It's easy to complain than to let someone know that they're doing an awesome job. Joaquin was awesome and answered all of my questions regarding my unit. The property is kept up(something that has bugged me with other storage companies) and I knew that my items were safe. If I need to use a storage company again, I will use Joaquin's location.

Fast check in easy and helpful. Clean facility and secure. Reserved online and received a call from PS to confirm and inform that there was a spot waiting for me. When I walked in I needed boxes and I could not find dividers for my dishes anywhere but the manager at the site Ty was very helpful and patient and he helped me find what I needed and gave me a 10% discount on my boxes definitely a great place to go if you need storage or moving merchandise very helpful will be going back again!

I went in yesterday to try and rent an RV spot. There was 1 left, but it was reserved. The manager called me back this morning and said he had been unable to contact the other party and the space was again available. I was able to go in and set up the spot in a short time. My only concerns are the yearly jump in price. After 3 years, I'm already paying 60% more than when I first moved in. I could get an air conditioned unit of the same size for the same rate in most other places. Unfortunately, I need a place close to home. I've never had any problems with access of the staff though.
