Went in today to rent a unit we had reserved online and we were greeted by a guy in regular clothes, no uniform, baseball cap on with his pants hanging off his butt showing his underwear. David told us to go get back in our car and drive back to unit 164 and he would meet us back there. So we drove onto the property with no further instruction and drove around till we could find him and he showed us the unit. As we were driving around we noticed there was mildew and mold growing on the outside of all the buildings. There were rows of ankle deep rotting leaves everywhere along with all kinds of trash. It was actually disgusting to see. After viewing the unit we went back to the office and David hands us an "insurance" form and told us to sign it and didnt say anything else. We told him we had our own homeowners we wanted to use and he became psychically upset. I picked up the insurance display that was on the counter to look at it and David got up and forcefully snatched it out of my hands which upset my husband. David then became even more irate because we still refused the insurance (we even tried to show him proof of our homeowners) so he called his boss who seemed confused as to why he was even calling her. He then snatched up the insurance paper, wrote "DECLINED" on it and literally threw it back at my husband to sign. Appalled over the treatment from the manager my husband let David know he was upset and didnt appreciate the way we were being treated. David then picked up his personal cell phone and told us he was calling the police on us because we wouldn't cooperate with him. We finally left because David would not calm down and work things out professionally. All this fuss because we would not get their insurance was unnecessary and we did not appreciate being threatened with the cops over nothing. If you need proof please pull the cameras for 11/26/2016 around 11:15am. Reservation was for my husband Robert Stine. Corporate has been contacted as well. Please if you value your items do not store them at this nasty location as they will more than likely be covered in mold and mildew by the time you vacate.

Unit was broken into and it was made extremely difficult to work with the company to get access afterwards due to being out of town. There is no on-site office or staff and after locks were replaced with the company's, the unit was gained access to without force between the time locks were replaced and I was able to return to town, meaning someone had access either within the company or someone that knew an employee and even more items were missing. Whether this was done during the time of the locks being replaced or afterwards, I do not know. After both events, staff from another location in charge of this one were unwilling to help or assist with figuring out what happened. The insurance did not cover any missing items as they had been purchased years ago and no "purchase receipts" were available. I was told there would be a follow-up with the initial break-in and there never was. I was then told to follow the police report and contact IMPD, which was not helpful either. In addition to this, they proceeded to increase my rent the month following the break-in!! I proceeded to drive across country during my only vacation time and removed all items from the storage unit and immediately canceled the contract. The cameras here are useless when there are none on the inside of the building. Steer clear and find another location to store you items!

Had the storage unit for 10 months. When taking everything out of storage we notice mold on 2/3 beds and box springs, one bed being brand new. We are most likely out over $1,500 in bed cost. We had an inside unit. We had insurance on the unit. When calling and making a claim through the insurance the storage provides they told us unless other units had issues with mold we would not be reimbursed and could possibly receive $250. What exactly is the $250 going to cover when 2 beds are completely ruined. $250 won’t even cover a single one of the king beds completely ruined. Would not recommend anyone go here for the cost and most definitely not pay money for insurance monthly when the insurance WILL NOT cover any damages to your belongings. After reading others reviews, we were not the only customers with issues regarding to mold. Super upset as we are less than a week until move in with no beds to sleep on.

If you have a storage unit at Public Storage on 7430 Madison Ave, I HIGHLY suggest you check your units. Today we discovered our unit has been broken into and we have a lot of things that have been stolen. They cut off our lock and replaced it with a lock of their own. We suspect they have made multiple trips based on the items that were taken and it would explain why they put a new lock on. We are also suspecting the people who did this have a unit of their own there or they did. I am truly convinced this was an “inside job” and an employee there has something to do with our issue. There are too many things that do not add up. If you do anything at all, at least swing by to ensure that the lock on your unit is in fact your lock. If you are looking for a storage place… keep looking and DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

Havent even moved in yet and contacting a real person is a joke. Automated number anytime you click the number to try to talk to a real person it just starts over. Theyve left me 2 voicemails asking me to call and when I have multiple times over multiple days it doesnt work. **EDIT** After finally moving my things into the unit I ran into a woman who said she was moving her items soon and suggested I do the same. Her lock was broken and replaced by the storage company and they didnt even notify her. She had to play phone tag with them after showing up locked out of her unit. I also have auto pay set up and they charged, refunded and charged me again only to to call and tell me I owe. I'm already making plans to switch another company.

I originally gave it five stars for the immediateAnd what I thought accurate customer service I received,but I've been with them Less than 6 monthsl haveYet to receive my invoices I've tried to call in to make a payment This was within the first month and found out they did not have my driver's license number correct,, okay no big deal. Then attempt to make a payment online and found out the reason why I haven't been getting my invoices nor can I pay online they don't have my name spelled correctly or my email spelled correctly wow and to think I was the only one in the office yes I checked everything was okay on the The iPad how it got lost from the iPad cyber space,to their computer Only God knows!!##Never again

I have had my belongings in storage for over a year and it has been a very pleasant experience .I had never had things in storage before and wasn't sure what to expect but I have had no issues whatsoever . Every time I have spoken to someone during this time I have always came away with all my questions answered and very impressed . I will definitely use this company again if I am ever in need of storage . I will be getting my belongings back in the next couple of months and was speaking to James today about the process and he answered every question I had with complete confidence . I will never use another storage company because i feel i have already found the best . Thank you very much.

When I needed a unit they had one and I was able to do it online I have had my unit almost a year. It was clean and large just what I wanted and a few months ago I was able again to get a unit online for my daughter. The people there are very friendly I have found. It is old place the blogs. Need painted and you can see the aging and mildly on the outside. I do have one problem with this place a couple of times going in there was a semi blocking most of the road and I had to go around it and I scratched my truck from the front to the tailgate because of it. And the staff would not do anything about them being in there. I’m sorry a semi should not be aloud in such a small area.

I am in the process of moving after living in one for 9 years and I have accumulated lots of stuff. Between working, inclement weather, and a family emergency the last three days, I still have lots of stuff in my old place. The moving man and cleaning lady are scheduled I was desperate. It is Sunday morning and I was pleased to see that this facility was open. James was so helpful and made sure that I would be happy with your facility. He is so nice, and now I am happy to have a great place with such great service to put all of my stuff . Thanks so Much!!!!!!!

Laura and James were absolutely wonderful to work with ! I mostly dealt with James, because he set up my account and provided me with my information and the storage unit. He was always pleasant and helpful and came to my rescue once when I was having difficulties getting into the gate. Plus, the location was perfect. If I am EVER in the need for another unit, I will be going back to Public Storage and will refer this company to my friends and family. If you ever need to have a place to put your stuff, Public Storage is the safe haven to go to.

stopped by to buy some packing supplies (boxes, etc.) only to find that there is no longer a manned office here, only a bunch of storage units and an atm like machine to make rental payments. they do list a phone number for further information, but doubt they can shove any boxes through your phone when you call. wouldn't get much of a warm and fuzzy feeling renting a unit here as there's no one you can talk to (you know that thing where you and they are in the same room) should you have a problem that needs quick action.

Rented a 20x20 unit and only 1 of the 2 doors opened, so I requested a refund and the site manager refunded me for lock but said in order to get refund for the unit I had to call customer service. I spoke via live chat with 3 representatives, 1st one said I would receive a full refund within 48hrs, 2nd one said within 72 hrs, and now the 3rd, with still no refund has said it will take 6-8 weeks to process the refund.......THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!. Find a different storage.

Updated review... Our unit was broken into and left unsecured for 3 days. From what one of the managers told me the upper management is only taking action if a customer reports an issue. Needless to say the only thing left in our unit is trashed and Public Storage has the audacity to charge me for this month's rent. Bad business and terrible customer service. Don't store here if you ever want to sew your stuff again.

Well in to check prices on a storage unit and the young lady behind counter had given me a full lay out of the sizes and the prices of the units . It was and pleasure talking to her because she was helpful and clear about what I can do to make it easier on me because of how many items I have. I am real pleased that she helped me because some people don't take the time to do that. Thank you Mrs. Lori Mueller.

I reserved a unit online but was waiting for the last minute then Brad called me to check to see if I was still interested that was nice of him. I had some things going on and still wanted the unit he held it for me till the weekend when I could go in. I wasn't able to pay online because I didn't need their insurance or lock already had both. Brad thank you for everything. You are so kind an patient.

I was in this past Sunday to secure my reserved storage space. I am so glad I was able to work with a young man named David. So sweet-natured, so polite, and well-informed. In the business world, David's qualities would be referred to as amazing "soft skills" and "professionalism"; but it takes more than that. I will recommend your location to everyone. Started off with the east street location and when the unit wasn't available the lady transferred me to this location. Brant was very polite and found the best unit for me and my wife for the amount of stuff we had. He was very professional on telling us all about the company and suggested certain items for protecting our belongings. I would refer anyone to this location. Thanks brant

Great customer service and very clean location! I filled out the online reservation form and within 5 minutes April called to see if I wanted to make an appointment to see the unit and finish the paperwork. She gave me a tour, answered all my questions and made the paperwork part go quickly. This location was very clean and the rates are great too. I highly recommend this location.

Sign says they close from 1 to 2. I went there at 5 minutes till 2 and decided to wait and the girl and her boyfriend didn't come out of the bathroom until 215. I wonder what was going on in there? Very professional... Also I looked online and it said they had the size unit I needed available then when I got to the location they didn't.

Gate to secure entrance has been broken since June . Anyone has full access to all storage unit. Homeless and drug rehab facility is 1 block from this facility. Not safe in the evening time if you need to go there. Each time I ask the staff about fixing the broken gate/entrance . "Fixed in 2 weeks "....that was in June. Still not fixed.

I was there helping someone move something. When they popped the door open, the unit was trashed. They then informed me that another tenant had broken into their unit months ago, and it took the manager 3 months to inform them. Management had only made sure everything was crammed back into the unit, with no care for the items inside.

David was a wonderful help, he showed me the storage unit explained the agreement and went over all the fees. It's nice to have someone knowledgeable in these situations. If it wasn't for him and his helpful attitude and polite non pushy get this now spirit I would still be looking for a storage unit. Thanks David.

I had a very positive experience dealing with the current staff. I changed my appointment time and day more than once and they stayed current with me on those changes. There are courteous and helpful and made sure everything was As it should be. My experience was far better than years before with prior staff.

When my grandmother passed, we needed a place to store everything once the house sold. The location was convenient, the rental process was easy and James was very helpful. Not the best situation to be in need of a storage facility, but he was understanding and made the process smooth. Thanks!

I used this storage facility for over a year and it was great. Always clean, staff always polite. Great experience with Jeanette when closing my account. These units are more expensive than others in the area HOWEVER they are more clean and well kept.

The black man in the front with the braids & beads on his head is a extremely rude & scarcastic he made multiple disrespectful remarks I will be calling cooperative on him DO NOT RENT ANY STORAGE UNIT FROM THEM THEY ARE EXTREMELY SLOW & RUDE

My experience with Shelly at 7430 Madison Avenue was enjoyable to say the least I got a inside unit and the only downside that I saw with it was no lighting inside the units but they were still easily accessible and well kept and clean

So glad April was there to help me thru my stressful predicimant. And I am thankful I could talk to Jennifer and her help me with my dilemma. These girls are a lifesaver. Seriously don't doubt this ladies, they will treat you great.

I have used this location at least 3-4 times, over the years, to store my household belongings between moves. The property is kept clean and tidy. Brad was very helpful in helping me select a unit and doing the paperwork.
