First and foremost, let me briefly explain my lifelong experience with storage units. For over 20 years now, I have lived pretty close to a full-time vagabond as my career requires me to travel approximately 30-35 weeks annually. As a result, I have relied on storage units for storing possessions between residences in several different states. As I am on the brink of moving once again, I needed to find a storage facility somewhat close to a recent rental home in Beech Grove. As luck would have it, I found Public Storage on Elmwood during my initial search results. Within 12 hours, I secured my storage needs with the immense and most genuinely genial help from Jeanette, Everything was well explained; review of the unit was thorough; no questions were left unanswered. In short, I feel as through I should be a public relations professional for Public Storage because they are truly that good! I highly recommend investigating their facilities and pricing if you ever need a quality storage unit, and one quickly, too!

The sign-up and move-in experience was quick and convenient. I was frustrated that I was asked to purchase insurance despite my home owner's policy covering storage unit contents. (I ultimately didn't have to pay the monthly insurance fee.) I've grown less pleased due to bait-and-switch pricing. I received an approximately 20% price increase after 4 months on my 12' x 18' unit (from $133 to $157/month.) For reference, the prices currently being advertised on the website are $86/month for 10' x 18', $110/month for 10' x 24', and $143/month for 20' x 24'. I called and asked for a price adjustment was was told they would make a special request. The special request was denied. I was told Public Storage reserves the right to change pricing any time and would give discounted rates to new customers only. Ultimately, the storage unit is fine. But the pricing over time is somewhat deceptive and apparently subject to planned price increases after a short amount of time. I'll look into other vendors next time.

At first when I went to public storage we had a few issues with people being rude n disrespectful but when we told the manager Amanda she took care of it immediately!! Amanda was n is an awesome manager she always was quick to respond to messages and questions and she would always call and let you know if there were any issues! Amanda was always nice and respectful and she cared about people and there situations she always tried to help with whatever she could !! Amanda you were awesome and we appreciate everything you did for us for the last year when we were using your facility!! This public storage is a great place to store your stuff especially when you hav people like Amanda there to make sure people are satisfied and when they go above and beyond there job duties!! Thanks so much Amanda at public storage we will miss ya bunches!!

My 5 star review is for Jennifer, who was working at this location the day I paid my rent. I have had my things stored there for over 10 years now. The rent has continued to go up, annually. It is WAY OVER where I started!! This last time, it went from $220 (with insurance) to $239! An outrageous increase! I mentioned this, and Jennifer was very nice to offer to submit a request to reduce my rent by $65 (the price the same size unit is costing new customers, now!!). A decrease was approved, but only back to what I'd been paying most recently, not reduced by the $65. But, I really appreciated Jennifer offering to submit this request for me, and did end up saving me some $ in the end. No one else at this location has ever offered to do this. Jennifer's level of customer service was awesome!

I’m trying to figure out how this company is still in business the way they conduct business! I reserved a unit over a week ago and was continuously sent emails saying to complete registration but there was link or way to do it. I kept calling and getting sent to different people. No one could help me. I went to the kiosk and spoke to a live agent who told me the unit wouldn’t be ready until Saturday and that 2 managers would be there between 1-5p. I went at that time and no one was there. I have been hung up on twice and constantly sent to person to person which no one ever was able to assist me. Can someone please explain to me what the hell kind of business are these people running? There are no managers or supervisors to speak with or anything… !!!

Office clerk Dorothy was very helpful in selecting the best storage unit for our needs. We had stopped in late, near closing of the office, and Dorothy was diligent in getting our needs met. She stayed fifteen minutes passed the office closing in order to get our unit and account opened. We have used Public Storage facilities in the past and knew the quality of the storage unit and service. Employees like Dorothy are a valuable asset to the company and are the deciding factor in our return business. You can only access your unit from 9-6. They make you have their insurance. Our unit was a double and they screwed one of our doors shut from the inside and they said they would fit it and 2 months later and several calls we cut the lock and said screw it. We always have an issue and our lock was damaged and they said there’s nothing they can do and to call a lock Smith. Hardly ever have an available manager and was just a terrible experience. We moved our things out and went to another company. Also, when you leave you just clear it out and when they check they just put down you left so easy but not really professional in my opinion.

Asked to switch to smaller unit and was denied. When deciding to switch storage places we moved our belongings out in the new storages moving truck. We were continuously watched & observed while we were moving our things out. When returning the next morning to remove the remaining items (trash), we arrived to a public storage lock on our unit & locked/closed office. Ever since we have continuously been charged each month for trash in a unit, despite not ever being aloud inside to remove the contents in the unit. Very unprofessional & petty business. Hopefully we can get it taken care of, so that we dont continue to be scammed..

Eleanor went out of her way to get my lock cut and replaced, so that my boyfriend could get his stuff out of our storage unit when he returned from his deployment in Afghanistan. Erica, the manager, made a special trip to get this issue resolved. Also, Eleanor continually kept me updated on what was going on, and called as soon as the keys were ready to be picked up. She is always very bubbly and sweet. You have an amazing employee in her. I will definitely highly recommend Public Storage, and continue my business with this company in future years to come. Public Storage beech grove storage is so nasty roach infested they lost the keys to my storage and took almost a week for someone to come cut a lock off that I didn’t even put on my storage I finally got my key and all my things covered in roaches this is sick I had my storage for a week and everything is covered in roaches. There’s no way to contact them you have to go through hoops to even get in touch with someone. It’s been a week since my insurance claim and I have yet to hear anything. All my things and daughter things are ruined I have to start completely over

I had “Shopped around” For Storage info and pricing. I’ve never personally had to use a Storage Facility, But! Found myself needing one ASAP. Gina was very friendly, Took the time with me to answer my questions and put to ease Concerns I had about “Security” I would Highly Recommend This facility. It’s easily accessible and close to my home. I don’t think a person could find one more economical than Here! I know, I went to five different ones. Gina’s Service is why I ultimately chose this one. Thanks for the help on such short notice!

The lady in the office was terrific very polite. But the reason why I gave us three it's because I have another storage that is bigger than this one and I pay a lot less for it. Truthfully the smaller storage I'm paying double from what I I am with my other storage . I had to grab a storage real quick and I only needed it for a short time. What kills me is I got an email already saying I owe a bill on it I was supposed to get a month for a dollar they're knocking me out of three days. I don't say that how you do business.

No on-site staff. Can’t get unit opened if misplace key. Have to get a locksmith. Can’t change drivers license information without going to a distant staffed location to show it in person. If you are ok with inconveniences then go for it. If you want good customer service and a person on site then stay away. I will never use them again and do not recommend. Moving my stuff as soon as I can. Use to be good when had on site staff but now have raised rates, removed on site human staff, and are not customer friendly.

I had a location at another public storage - I had the initial promotional price, then after a year it raised and stayed there. which is why I chose them again for my mom's storage unit. However at my new location in Beech grove - I have had probably 5 different price changes - every time I turn around I am getting notified of a price increase - $99 to $121, $121-$134, $134 - $150, and now $150 to $164. I can tell you I am beyond fed up with it.

I was impressed with the ease of reserving a unit at Public Storage. Per a phone call, Ruth guided me in deciding the size of the unit I would need and completing the reservation. Karen called immediately to schedule my visit to the facility. Karen and Ruth are courteous and knowledgeable. Karen explained everything I needed to know about the units and packing my things for storage. Many thanks to Karen & Ruth!

Poor management lazy employees and they bring their kid to work at this location witch wouldn't be that bad I their kid was well behaved if there were a closer storage to me I'd use it because this place is a joke. Tried for 2 weeks to get into my unit . They accidentally locked me out and then kept saying they couldn't get the lock they put on back off! What a joke of a place!!!

This place is scam!!!!! I've had 2 locks cut off in the last month!!! The store clerks are telling me it's some random person doing it!!!! Bull! It's some that works here because they don t want you to use your own locks!!!!! The want you to buy there's!!!!! I'm calling a lawyer today!!! I'm going to do everything I can to get this place shut down I promise you that!!!!!!

I always get great service when I go there the girls are all so friendly. I usually get Elli is so great she always says hi when I walk through the door and the other one I get is Antje she's also nice never any nasty things things to say about anybody or anything. That's why I love having my stuff stored at public storage there a1 in my book. Great Customer Service

Anyway the office manager will actually pick up the phone? Keeps raising my rent, but won’t answer as I have QUESTIONS!!! One time I did speak with her months ago she was rude as can be and completely unhelpful. FIRE THIS LADY, she is NOT doing right by Public Storage. I have rented from another area previously and NEVER had this issue. SHE is the problem.

I had a great experience using Public Storage at the Elmwood location. Nikita was extremely helpful and very patient as I had to call her several times to schedule an appt., etc. The facility was very clean and well maintained. Nikita was very friendly and very knowledgeable and answered every question we ask. I would definitely use this facility again.

Been with public storage for only 4 months already increase their rates by $60. Talk to a representative it's nothing against you we just raise our rates every year. Not the type of place I want to rent from. Was with another company for over 2 years never had a rate increase. Ultimately this place is a waste no 24-hour access and the service is crappy.

This location was very busy but Brant was handling each customer with patience. He was friendly even with the challenges presented by a malfunction with the computer. Karen showed me the unit I was interested in and answered all of my questions. I've never rented a storage unit before. Karen and Brant made the process very easy.

I paid my storage late fees then when I walked back into my account and it said I still have late fees and when I tried to call to talk about why I have these charges it literally took me into a circle and I could not speak to anyone this is literally the worst freaking service I’ve ever had I can give it zero stars I would

Poor customer service. I miss placed my storage key and I need a new one to get my suitcase out of my storage. I contacted customer service and they could not help me at all because they do not have complementary locksmith anymore. There is no one on site to manage the property either which is unprofessional and ridiculous.

Although I haven't been to this particular location I would say we had a terrible experience at the East St location. The manager was off and Chad was filling in today. He was Amazing at helping us get the situation figured out. He was friendly,professional and knowledgeable. Thank you Chad for your help!!

ZERO STAR REVIEW!!!! These nasty scumbags stole from us. We needed a unit for a week but then We never moved in to our unit and canceled the day after I reserved it never even moved in they proceed to charge me another $200 after a month. And refuses to refund the money they stole!! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM

He is entrance keypad well lit common areas clean simple design to storage units you should operate doors helpful staff on site during business hours some tight negotiating required to pass through the first couple turns probably unable to pass a trailer through use Extreme Caution

This is my first time ever renting a storage unit and let me tell you all the staff here is great but I had Ms. Ellie as a sales person and boy was she fantastic she sold me on a unit and some boxes! I higly suggest coming here for great pricing and excellent customer service.

Nice older storage facility, the buildings show some age but still in good shape. These are block wall buildings so your stuff is safe even in high winds and strong storms. The location is great for me & the price was better than others nearby.

I arrived early at the store and it opens at 930 just as advertise. Jeanette show me my unit and explained how everything worked. I had my key and the gate passcode within 15 min of getting there. Great experience... Friendly employee

Easy to set up storage rental. Brant is very friendly and helpful. He was able to answer all questions and easy to talk to. I actually like that there is not 24 Hour access to the property, as I feel it is a bit more secure..
