I am moving here because my previous facility (another company) is tearing down the building. The W. Gray Public Storage is close to my house, and the unit is the same price but much larger than I was getting at Extra Space. It was easy enough to sign up on line. However, I was forced to take and pay for the unit 3 weeks before my move-in date, because you cannot make a reservation for further down the road than one week. There was no rental agreement or rules to read on-line. After that, things were not so great. I had to go sign the contract in person. When there is no one in the office (they are showing units to other customers), they lock the door. They don't bother to put up a sign, so you have no clue if they are open or not. The girl was decidedly not friendly and not thrilled about helping people. she muttered something about the company having set three back-to-back appointments first thing in the morning, and she had not even had time to get set up when she arrived at work. I was really irked when she told me that they "require" you to have rental insurance. Since this had not been mentioned on-line, I did not have time to see if my homeowners insurance covers rental storage. So I was forced to sign up for their insurance, at an additional $11 / month ($132 / year). I was also told that they "require" you to have a certain type of lock, also not mentioned in the on-line material, and I didn't have time to drive to Home Depot, so I was forced to buy their $20 lock. She locked the front door and then disinterestedly walked me to my unit on the 2nd floor of a building in the rear. It's nice that you can drive right up to the entrance. There's no special parking in front of the building, so your vehicle will be blocking other people's access to their units. There were no carts or dollies in sight, so you will be hauling your boxes from the car into the elevator and then down the hall to your unit by hand, or bring your own dolly. The locker is climate controlled, and it's large, 5'x10', which is nice. And it's close to the elevator. But there was a chunk of ceiling tile caved down, and insulation hanging 3' down into the unit. I asked if the unit had had a roof leak, and she said, "No, it's just an old building," and gestured to some falling ceiling tiles out in the hall. This does not answer the question of water leaks. I asked if they could have it fixed in the three weeks I had paid for but will not be able to move in. She disinterestedly said "maybe." The second time I asked if it would be fixed, she commented that probably not, and that their maintenance crew isn't good about things like that. While I was in the office, a lady came in who was told that her rent had gone up from $50 to something like $75 (50%!), which she had not been advised of, and they had slapped on a late fee because she was two days late in paying (she said she had not received a bill). It's also not clear how they bill you - via U.S. mail or via e-mail. I tend to delete e-mails that look like advertising, so you could easily overlook a bill, and become delinquent. So I'm definitely not pleased with the customer service. Nor the bait and switch about the required insurance and the required pad lock. I'm worried that my unit might be subject to rain / roof leaks. But I want to keep the unit because it's close to the elevator . All the other available units are way in the back, and remember, I didn't see any cart or dolly. I could look for another facility, but I have a really short time frame and need to get something quickly. This one is close to my house. Not that I go to my storage unit all that often. I hope that I have not made a bad decision.

My storage unit was broken into and the employee working at the office, named Lizzetta, did absolutely NOTHING to help me. No assistance, no sympathy, and the absolute worst costumer service. I called the insurance company to place my claim, and she refused to give me essential information that they were asking me for in order to get my claim started (this is the insurance company that Public Storage works through, mind you, and she was still unwilling to assist me). Every time I left the office to attend to my phone calls (insurance and the police), she would make sure to lock the office door behind me so I wouldn't be able to come in again, knowing very well I might need her assistance, and even though it was pouring rain outside. And when the police officer showed up to file my police report, she put up the "I stepped out of the office, I'll be back soon" sign and disappeared, so when the police officer wanted to come in and speak with her about surveillance, she was not there. I understand that she might not care about my belongings being stolen, but I would've hoped that as a human being she would have shown some compassion towards what I was going through and offered some help. I have worked in the service industry my entire career and this woman embodies the absolute opposite of what hospitality should resemble, let alone what Public Storage might want to portray as their customer service standards. Honestly, the lowest of the low. I would be ashamed to have such a person to be an ambassador of my brand, but if they allow someone like this to represent their vision, mission, and loyalty to customers, then that says more about them as a company than I care to know. Long story short, don't bring your business here, it's not worth your hard earned dollars.

Exceptional Customer Service:) I visited this location just to make a payment on my lunch break, and the young lady Kamecia was very nice and friendly. She greeted me as soon as I entered( you all know this is practically non-existent these days when going into establishments) and explained she would be right with me. Of course, HOT and in a hurry that day the store phone lines were going crazy and Kamecia handled the situation very well. A hot in a hurry customer(ME) standing in front of her and multiple customers calling, and she still provided me with her attention the customer in front of her! She was able to great the customer on line; placed on hold and while I (GUILTY OF NOT BEING PREPARED) was digging for my information she politely went back to phone line asked customer what they needed placed them on hold and began gathering their information requested until I was ready. Just like that I presented my account information and payment and before I could get to the door good Ms. Kamecia had already provided the customer on hold with what they needed and was off to the next line. Talk about multi-tasking and making it look so easy. Lets just say I am such a stickler for AMAZING customer service and this young lady did not disappoint. Super Satisfied Customer :)

I arrived at the store and saw the sign saying the clerk would be back at 4:10. It was 3:50 so I decided to wait. About 4:10 I got out of the car and waited at the door. Still no one there. Then about 4:25 I looked up and saw the sign was down, so I went in. The clerk was sitting down behind the desk. When I said I didn't see her, she said, "I saw you. I waved at you but you didn't see me." So rather than being rude I just said, "must be nice to have a job you can come and go as you please." What I WISH I would have said was, "If you knew that I didn't see you, why didn't you open the door and say something like 'my apologies for being a little later than I had planned. Please come on in." Instead she just sat there.... This the 2nd time in about 3 weeks that I have been there and the clerk was not there. So bottom line, customer service is NOT their strong point.

Due to a move gone awry, I had to take a storage unit at another facility only to find out after one month they were demolitioning that public storage and I’d have to relocate all my possessions to another public storage (for only 2 weeks more mind you before I’d be moving out)! After moving so many times the demolition added like 4 more moves to my future. I was a hard one to win over when I got to the W Grey location but the manager Tanisha made me so happy! I’ll never forget how kind and helpful she was. She literally changed my life when she went out of her way to bring me the portable cart #gamechanger Public Storage is lucky to have a manager like Tanisha on their payroll. She is professional, efficient, helpful and truly dedicated to the best costumer service. I would absolutely recommend this public storage location

I was referred to Public Storage on West Gray by a previous customer who stored his things at this particular location. He sent me to speak with the property manager, Shawna. Even though I had heard great things about her and the facility, I had a list ready to go to compare sizes and prices in the area at other storages. Well, I only went to Public Storage. Shawna was very caring and considerate. She didn't rush me, and offered to show me a few different storages. She was very knowledgeable. I felt like I had known her for a while, which made me feel very comfortable. Moving can be stressful, and I am BEYOND stressed. This Public Storage is in an awesome location with GREAT pricing. I am VERY happy with my decision, and Shawna was AMAZING. She is the main reason I leased a storage unit at Public Storage!

The manager of this location has exceeded expectations from the second I arrived. My friend had backed out on helping move my things into a storage unit and Taneisha was able to call a family member she knew was close by and he helped me unload my truck in just enough time to get it back to uhaul! (Disclaimer: Ask days in advance if you need help and her brother, standup guy, may be able to assist. Pay him well, he's good help, but definitely not part of the contract Or Public Storage lol). Any time I have had a question she has been incredibly prompt and professional in her assistance. Public Storage without Taneisha is just another storage unit facility, but with her it is a customer satisfaction machine. Highly recommended above all others I've used in the past.

Not the Friendliest of staff, when I transferred my Public storage unit from Hwy 6 and west park I wish the manger could go with it. I moved back to the Cleanest and Very well Maintained public storage on 6502 Hwy 6 S From the Public storage location on 1419 West Gray, that location is dirty and not maintained Plus the staff is never friendly and always rude.. I complained about difficulty in opening the roll up door, The sliding lock jamming, the weather stripping falling off and the burnt out light bulb in my 19x30 unit Nothing was done in the 8 months I rented there..staff has the attitude of don’t bother me and I don’t like my job...— NEGATIVE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've been renting here for a while I really appreciate the care and up keep of the property. I've never had any issues with my unit or getting any help from the management. I've been going through a few changes in my personal life and have been visiting the property alot lately, and any time I need something the new manager Tanisha is always willing to help me even if it's just her listening to me vent my problems out, which sometimes can be better than any physical help. Soon I should have my stuff together and be ready to move to the next stage in my life. I would definitely recommend friends and family to come rent with her she has been great to me. I decided to get a storage unit at this facility, b/c driving by it, I couldn't help noticing how clean and bright it was. Everything looked very well maintained, so I stopped in, met the manager, Shawna, and a new employee Tionia. Both ladies were absolutely lovely, nice as can be, very informative and helpful. I got the perfect unit for a really great price. Shawna helped make my very difficult day 100% better. I appreciated her patience and how quickly she got me settled in. I have used various storage facilities in the past -- this one is truly the best. Clean, spacious, well maintained, great staff. I'm a happy customer!

Excellent customer service! Stopped by to preview a couple of units not sure of what size I would need. Even though I arrived right at closing time I was greeted very warmly and never felt rushed. Shawna is awesome! Fun, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. She very easily could have pushed me into a unit that was bigger than what I needed but instead voluntarily informed me of another unit at a nearby PS that was exactly what I was looking for. I rented that unit today and had a great experience at that location as well! Way to step up your game, Public Storage, it was a pleasure doing business with all of you!

Employee on duty was away from the office on 8/12/2018 for the last part of the open hours. She returned 10 minutes prior to close, and then refused to check me in to the space I had reserved online, the day prior. She cited a rule no check-ins could occur 30 minutes before close. *To be clear, I was there 30 minutes before close; said employee was not in the office. Absurd rule (if, in fact, that's truly a rule and not her excuse). Rude employee. Unbelievable that I had to waste over a half hour of my time to wait for an employee, only not to be helped during business hours nor given access to my storage unit.

I came to the store to get some boxes for my business, nothing major. When I stepped in, I was greeted by Veronica. She was so courteous and friendly. She made sure I had all the right sized boxes for the items I needed packed and even talked me into possibly getting a unit for some of the other items I have in my office. I’ll most definitely be back to rent a space when the time is right. It’s so refreshing to see people work hard and keep a positive attitude. Times are hard but I didn’t mind spending the money I spent here because she was so helpful and inviting . See you soon Veronica, you’re very nice!

First review after many years as a customer. This is prompted by the extraordinary customer service experience(s) with Shawna, the current manager at this location. She brings a unique combination of industry skills and personal character traits that make her an unforgettable and invaluable asset to this company. Shawna's ability to simultaneously train personnel and positively respond to the needs of customers - current and potential, while they are standing at the counter in the office and handle incoming telephone calls, is astonishingly remarkable. I greatly admire and appreciate her.

If I could give them zero stars I would! I bought a unit three days ago and could not gain access inside the building. Property manager is never there. Called customer service they keep telling me I have to wait until the property manager gets there. The elevator was broke within those three days so I had to call customer service for them to put a ticket inside. Since I was not able to move in I lost my bedroom set and living room set. I lost so much money, time, and mover fee with them. Highly do not recommend! You will get the run around

I stopped in and visited this store to pay on bill I was very confused about and this young lady name Amber was one of the sweetest girls I ever met she was so patient with me and help explain to me how the rent work and was able to get me taken care of I received 5 Star customer service and the store was so clean and organize and had a good choice of merchandise I end up spend about $97 but It was worth it I will be back for more and hopefully Amber is there again very sweet girl. I would recommend anyone to go there!!

We have been renting from this particular store for the last year. Shifting from outdoor units to climate control units. I wanted to recognize Lisa, the manager, at this location. She has gone above and beyond to help me with each unit. She promptly returns my phone calls and recently helped me to close out one of the units this month. I hope that management will recognize employees like Lisa, who are hard working and go above and beyond to make Public Storage, a company others would want to do repeat business with.

Super friendly place, very helpful staff. If anyone has had to move or require storage then you know it's a hassle, stressful and no fun, that said PS has it together, made the whole process simple, affordable and easy. As a customer Shawna and her staff will treat you like a longtime friend rather than someone just passing through, she completely understands the customer needs and does everything to minimize the stress. I'm not looking to relocate again, should I need to do so I will certainly be using PS again.

I came in to buy merchandise and Ms Tanisha was very helpful and informative also very nice and eager to help, and She even helped me carry my merchandise out to my car. I give credit for these two courteous staff members, Tanisha and Cynthia. On my first day, as I opened my account, Tanisha gave me a lift on the golf cart to my unit. That was helpful since the temperatures were in the 90s and the trek was almost like a 1/2 mile. When it was time to close my account, Cynthia walked me through the necessary procedures priot to closing. The facility is located in a really awesome neighborhood and the grounds appeared to be clean.

I’ve been with this public storage going on 3+ years and the property needs to have better maintenance. Pro - location, location, location! Cons - the elevators are out of service or broken most of the time with no public notifications to their renters, there are trash everywhere and when you need the dolly it’s rarely available. I can’t say much about customer service since I don’t really interact with them but when I moved in they were helpful enough.

Our unit was "tampered with" and we weren't informed until we showed up to put more items in our unit. The latch was bent shut after the break in, so we have been unable to access our unit while waiting on someone to fix the door. It has been a week and we still don't even know whether or not anything was stolen. Each employee I've spoken to has been quick to tell me they don't usually work at this property, and no one has had any answers for me at all.

Kamecia is was such an amazing person, so personable, her personality is infectious. I was relocating from out of state, and when walked in Kamecia immediately took care of my needs, explained the storage sizes and took time to explain the process. Kamecia is highly professional, took time to understand what I needed. Thank you for great customer service and kindness! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!THANK YOU! Would highly recommend this place you won’t go wrong.

From the initial phone call to signing a contract. Our experience at this location was absolutely amazing! We worked with Shawna and Alex who were very friendly and helpful. We needed a fairly decent sized space to store extra items from our practice and the ladies were able to accommodate our needs in a timely manner. I'll definitely recommend this location to anyone who's looking for a decent priced unit in the area. Five stars all the way around!

I like this place because it has long hours and accessible 7 days a week for me to come and go as I need to; it's also very convenient due to the stores near by e.g. Kroger, Dollar Tree and some restaurants and even a community center. The manager Ms. Erica is very nice/respectful and responsive to my inquiries and needs. I'm grateful to my LORD AND SAVIOR for Ms. Erica and the convenience of the location.....GOD BLESS YOU ALL. First they raised their rates within one year from $118 to $183!!! Secondly it appears someone had a master key and STOLE much of our belongings. Bikes, golf clubs and clothes. The lock was re locked when I returned to the locker and the only way to re lock the lock is with the key in it. Also the back public door has been broken for 6 weeks with no repairs. Unlikely insurance will cover due to no signs of break in. Avoid this place.

Employee working at this location was incredibly unhelpful. Their system was down and she wasn’t able to complete my reservation (which I understand) but she seemed disinterested in providing alternate options. Meanwhile, someone else snagged the storage unit that I reserved three weeks ago. I had movers coming in the next morning with nowhere to store my belongings. Find another Public Storage location with better customer service.

I had the best experience this afternoon with two lovely women! Amber and Shawna were sweethearts! they were helpful, knowledgeable, efficient, and on top of that their personality's were sparkling - they made me smile ! they also gave me the most bang for my buck and made me feel like they cared , they truly understood my needs and met them without being a pushy sales associate. I appreciate their service - it made me feel valued

I tagged along with a friend to check out her unit and the location..as soon as we put the code in for the elevator and the doors opened there was Amanda sweeping! I thought to myself wow this facility must really care about their customers and appearance!! She was so sweet and greeted us with a huge smile i would definitely reccomend this location to anyone, the facility is up to date and the staff is excellent!!

As a returning customer, if there were 6 stars, this Public Storage location should have 6. They really make moving a less stressful experience. Tanisha and Alvaro were so helpful in finding the perfect unit. The perfect location, ease of access to units, saves you time during you move (and money if you're hiring movers). Get your key before your move so when you're ready with the movers, you can move right in.

The manager here is the rudest person I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. When I moved in she rudely told me where the unit was and gave poor directions at that. When I moved out I left stuff behind because of ROACHES. And then she harassed me about not cleaning out my unit before the 1st and owing the FULL MONTH. I was out by the 3rd. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Horrible horrible horrible.

I've had a great experience with Public Storage. I've used this Public Storage facility twice, and have had a hassle free experience each time. On my recent relocation back to the Houston area, Shawna, Mike, and Amber coordinated with me on reserving the unit and guiding the moving truck through the driveway. This was no small feat considering the arriving moving truck was a semi. Many thanks!

From the minute I walked into this location, I could not have asked for a better experience. Shawna (manager) runs a very nice facility and oversees every aspect. Public Storage has a real gem and I hope they know it. The building was clean, the property well maintained and if I ever need another storage unit, I hope they are as well run as this location. The office manager here is Patricia, who is well informed about the facility and very cooperative. The entire leasing process was very quick and efficient, and Patricia explained all the relevant terms and my obligations under the contract before obtaining my signature. The facility is very clean and well maintained, even after the recent rains. I would definitely recommend this place.

I stopped by to make an inquiry about a climate control space and Shawna was very welcoming and helpful; she really knows her property and her company. She helped me with a property that was closer and actually could save me some money. Coby Dennis is my hero. I came in to rent a unit and it was busy. He took his time with me to make sure I had all the information. I then locked my phone and keys in my car. Coby helped me get in contact with dealership and when they couldn't help, he called a locksmith that was close by and I was back in my car within 30 minutes. He went above and beyond for me. Was unhappy with the 70 dollar box at ups. On my way to u haul or whatever came up on yelp I saw public storage on w gray. 11 bucks in and out. Helped me wrap the weird shaped item and bubble wrap it. Celeste and Shauna were awesome. Get all your moving items from w gray. Won't be disappointed. And they were so nice. No one likes moving or packing. Made it easier! Thanks

This is my first time using a storage unit rental, and the experience was great! Using the app, it’s easy to open the gate and activate the elevators. The lock and keys are placed inside of the unit for easy access. I had trouble finding my unit and Diamond was very helpful in giving me directions and providing a phone number for additional support, if needed.

I recently established a new lease with Public Storage and during my move in I required unique services. The service manager on site offered exceptional customer service, was extremely friendly, professional and very attentive to accommodate my needs. This is why I continue to conduct business with this location due to their trained, friendly team members.

Our unit was broken into and looted. Only just finding out when showing up today to prep for a move to find a brand new lock on our unit. No one called to notify us. We then had to bolt cut the lock just to enter our own unit. They thieves knew what to grab. No one seems concerned and the rent constantly goes up. Do yourself a favor and find another place.

Kamecia was very helpful in getting me set up with storage. She didn’t just hand me the key; She gave me a tour of my locker to make sure it met my expectations (very helpful to me). During the leasing process, she explained everything to me as we went along. Feel good about decision to pick this location. I appreciate her friendly and patient attitude.

I have been a customer here for a while and Michelle and Cheryl have been AMAZING!!! Both ladies are so very helpful even helped me load mt car with all the boxes and other items I purchased.They always have a smile and do not act like you are bothering them even though I asked many many questions. With this being my first time using a storage facility, the initial process was easy enough. Tanisha and Mya went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed in addition to making suggestions on other items I may have needed. The storage unit was exactly what I wanted and clean to say the least. All in all, good facility; great people!

I recently had a bad experience with a storage place and I know now that after leaving today from Public Storage I can trust them with my precious items are secured. I was a customer of long standing, who finally had to clear out my unit. Shawna R. was not only very helpful concerning moving particulars, but also in reducing my stress levels! She was available by phone to answer my questions, as well. Being customer-friendly and businesslike at the same time is not a talent one finds every day!

I stopped by this location today for some bubble wrap and boxes . The lady that assisted me named was Veronica she was so friendly and introduced her self soon as I walked in. The entire time she help me she had a smile . I definitely will use this location more often. The staff was very welcoming and Miss Veronica was so sweet .

The attendant was super unhelpful. They gave me info that says the place is open 6am-6pm when it opens at 9am. There's leaking in the facility that got all over my things. Plus they have it on the site where you can "pay another amount" but you can't really because they charge you the full amount anyway. Ridiculously misleading.

The black lady in that location is sooo rud. She has a terrible attitude, and she left us waiting for half an hour without being able to leave because she didn't want to give us a code, and she hid in the cellars so as not to let us go out, we had to wait until another person came in to be able to leave. horrible experience

Colby was extremely friendly and helpful answering my questions about my unti and month to month bill pay information. During these times when everyone is stressed, it's so nice to interact with someone professional and courteous. Thank you!

I have visited this location on several occasions for goods pickups for my employer. Without a doubt Shawna is always there to greet you with a smile and to answer any questions that I might have; she is definitely a godsend. Public Storage is lucky to have her--Shawna is awesome! I have a moving company and I come to this location often to buy supplies like bubble wrap , tape , chair covers and exc…… And Ericka is always so helpful and always has different options for me, this is also one of the cleanest facilities that I’ve seen from public storage, this is why I choose to only come here!

This location was excellent. I was able to reserve my unit online, and my onsite experience, facilitated by highly professional Michelle. The unit was perfect, access easy, and I found the entire experience quick and easy. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that the second month is free! Highly recommended!

Great experience at this location. The manager on site -Shawna- was very quick in finding me a new space after I recently told her I needed to cut my monthly cost. She even suggested an affordable moving company, was very helpful overall. I never had any issues while storing with them (4+ years). I recommend it!

Cheryl at the River Oaks location is outstanding! I walked in to vacate my unit and with a boatload of questions. Her calm demeanor and great smile was refreshing. I appreciated her honesty. Give Cheryl a raise! Maybe start an incentive for every review, your employee gets $20s. Come on district manager …

I found Shawna and Aishia to be both amazingly helpful, but also polite and friendly / personable. They made sure to get us the best deal possible and really helped ensure the process to get into our storage unit was quick and easy. Beware! Beware!! While shopping for storage units about 6 months ago the main appeal of this location was the price! However, not fully into a year, the rent has increased by 35%. The increase wasn’t attributed to anything other than the fact they can! Do yourself a favor and find a different place.

I came here after speaking with very rude people at several other nearby facilities, including one where I had rented for two years. Here, however, Michelle was very friendly, professional and helpful in assisting me to solve my storage needs. I highly recommend PS and this faculity, specifically!

Absolutely amazing staff! Went through a long, long day of almost losing my belongings. After sifting through auction papers and hunting people down, they helped me find the buyer and get my belongings back. Michelle and Cheryl are absolutely amazing!!! I recommend this location to everyone!!!

Worst public storage I have ever been to. No one ever answers the phone or is in the office. I’ve noticed there’s maybe two dolly’s throughout the whole property if your lucky. I’m having to sit in my car and wait for someone to be done with one so that I can get the last of my things out.

Michelle is by far the best facility manager I have conducted business with. She is courteous and friendly at all hours of the day and consistently provides the best customer service available. Would definitely recommend this location to all interested in secondary storage.

Carrie at Public Storage helped me promptly with my needs fir my account today. I’ve been a customer for five years. I can say there have been many efforts over the past six months to freshen up the site (paint and lights), as well as enhanced security measures.

Went in to buy a couple boxes and get a storage and Ashlie was very informative. I was devastated because of Harvey, putting my valuables in a storage made me nervous; she did an awesome job helping me protect all of my belongings. Excellent customer service!!

THE WORST I booked over the phone and when I showed up no one was working and they were undergoing renovations. If you’re moving you know changes to plans suck! Couldn’t get connected to anyone over the phone either. Had to go to a different storage provider…

The receptionist walked towards me at the front door, literally wrote “meeting” on a post it note and stuck it on the door..did not even open the door and just talk to me and tell me that she was busy. Truly the most horrible service I have ever experienced.

1: Bad climate control - A/C out on my floor for over a week, 90 degrees in the building, so if you have sensitive equipment then don't bother storing here. Raised rent $20/month because "Other units are competitively priced." See ya later!

Shanelle was awesome! I started the application online the night before to reserve a unit but did not complete the payment portion. I like to do that in person. I showed up early at 9:15 they don't open until 9:30 so I went to Dollar tree
