"Terrible"
There is an overweight, older, white lady who works there who is the most incredibly RUDE person that I've have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I went in there on a Sunday and while I was in the process of taking out my earphones to complete my transaction I apparently didn't hear her say hello. As a result, she literally began to yell at me saying she was waiting on me because, "I had those stupid things in my ear." Shocked, I replied that I was still a customer. She then growled at me, "What's that supposed to mean?" I calmly responded that she was yelling and being quite rude. She actually replied, "That's because you had those stupid things in your ears." I then closed my wallet and said that I was going to take my business elsewhere. I typically don't write reviews, but that lady was ridiculous. My advice: avoid this place at all costs! Right up the street there is Cornell Dollar Plus store...just go there instead!
I've patronized this store for over a decade and never had any issues. In the past year, I've observed this woman who seems to have attitude. Tonight I get to the counter, I did not see her as she is cleverly hidden behind items on the counter and upon my saying hello she smartly replies, "I'm here, I'm exactly where I should be." Really? Upon getting home, I discover my item was already open. Hours say till 10p yet, upon my return with 5 minutes to store spare, it is closed and upon my calling to exchange the product, no dice. I get it, she's got her routine, however, being rude and closing early is just irritating. I've always felt like she's had a chip on her shoulder and before I got home, she confirmed it. Disappointed.
I have been going to this store for its convenience for quite some time, but today marks the last day. The woman who works at the store is usually unpleasant, but I never gave it much thought. She was ringing up a young boy and he went back to get a few items. She yelled at him to hurry up because there were other customers in the store. There was only one- my friend who told her it wasn't a problem. When he was a few cents short, she yelled offensive things at him until he was out of the store. The entire situation was completely unnecessary. Definitely take your business elsewhere- maybe Cornell Dollar Store or Hyde Park Produce a few stores down.
As a counterpoint to the previous reviewer, I would like to say that the woman in question has been nothing but courteous to me. And the rest of the staff are very friendly and courteous as well, particularly the older woman that works there. I've not had a bad experience there and I've been going there for a year now since I live really close to it. I'm not saying the previous poster did not have a bad experience, but you can catch people on a bad day in what is a mentally exhausting job and that can taint your perspective.
Terrible. Do not take your business to this store. This evening when I went to by a few things, the woman working at the front began yelling at a young child who was 14 cents short. She rudely called this child an “ingrate” and proceeded to say disrespectful things. It was an unacceptable way to treat another person, let alone a child. Please walk a few feet up the street and buy your things from the Cornell Dollar Store or Hyde Park Produce rather than this place.
Young lady working there is extremely rude and has a reckless mouth. She has 0 customer service skills and seems to think if throws around the fact she is the owner daughter she can talk anyhow to customers. She’ll eventually talk slick to the wrong person and they’ll give her the issues she is begging for. This woman was highly disrespectful toward me and hostel/threatened me.Please avoid patronizing this dusty mom and pops shack until they hire better staff.
Very friendly staff, especially the woman there in the morning. Clean and always has what I am looking for. I have seen them deal with very rude customers who leave their earbuds in and are ignored or music blasting and have money tossed at them majority of the time and handle it professionally. Can’t get upset if you come in there acting rude!!
I have visited this location on four separate occasions. I have not received a greeting from the employees whilst ringing-up my items, and they seem to be quite bothered with having to do their job. I give this store 3 stars for convienence , but the staff needs to work on their attitudes toward customers. Will not be visiting again.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD SMALL CORNER STORE WHERE YOU CAN GET THE THINGS YOU NEED RATHER THAN GOING FAR AWAY TO SHOP. JOYCE IS THE GO2 FOR HELP, AND TO NOW WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
This store has all snacks that I want, and I really like the workers there specially the owner I met him once and he was so kind.
It's a quiet shop that has a variety of snacks and it always has what I want when I want to have I snack
Very convenient. Has most basic needs.
The woman at the counter SUCKS
Very friendly
