VIP Area is very bad location not any types of services available. VIP tickets are 150 dollar charge but not any facilities. Sitting chair is normal same as general quota sitting chair. The R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium (RPS) is a cricket stadiumon Khettarama Road, in the Maligawatta suburb of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The stadium was, before June 1994, known as the Khettarama Cricket Stadium and is today one of the main venues where the Sri Lankan cricket team play, having hosted more than 100 one-day international matches. It is the largest stadium in Sri Lanka with a capacity of 35,000 spectators. It has hosted the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 final between Sri Lanka and West Indies; the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy final between Sri Lanka and India and first semi-final of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. This was where the highest Test score in history was recorded; 952 by Sri Lanka against India. With capacity exceeding Lord's in England, the stadium is known as the "home of Sri Lankan cricket". The Premadasa Stadium underwent a reconstruction project in preparation for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. The stadium has been undergoing large-scale renovations since 2009. It has had its seating capacity increase from 14,000 to 40,000, the media box accommodating 200 journalists, and other upgrades. The renovations have cost Sri Lanka Cricket $8 million. In July 2010, a report filed by the ICC pitch consultant, Andy Atkinson, raised concerns over the condition of the outfield and the pitch claiming he was worried at the slow pace of progress.Although none of the buildings at the stadium was near completion, the 2nd Test of the West Indies tour of Sri Lanka in 2010, was held at the venue in 23–27 November. Sri Lanka Cricket defended choosing the stadium saying that the decision to stage a game was to allow cricketers to acclimatize themselves to the ground ahead of the World Cup games. The Test match was staged using temporary seating for spectators in a corner of the stadium as only players' pavilions had permanent arrangements. Since the press box was not completed reporters and commentators facing technical difficulties used a makeshift arrangement. The main four public stands were refurbished along with the player dressing room area and the corporate boxes. A VIP car park is at the northern end of the ground.

The R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium is a great venue for cricket matches. It is a large stadium with a capacity of 35,000 people, so there is plenty of room for spectators. The stadium is also well-equipped, with good facilities for players and fans. The second day of the LPL was a great day of cricket. There were some exciting matches, with some close finishes. The crowd was also very enthusiastic, and they created a great atmosphere. Here are some specific things that I liked about the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium will continue to be a great venue for cricket matches in the future.
Feedback and Concerns Regarding LPL Finals Spectator Experience. I was one of the spectators at RP stadium last evening to watch LPL finals. My seat was located at upper D block. I write this E mail to inform you about some incidents I notices at the RP Stadium which I feel better if we can avoid. Please refer below. 1. The Chairs were full of dust and Permanently bound dirt stains. 2. There was a large crowed entered near and within the 1st half interval and sat on all stairs and pathways blocking free moments of spectators who came there by purchasing Legal tickets. I have seen this situation in several matches before, so I think there is some illegal transaction going on here through which people without tickets come in. Because the best example is when they didn't have any seats to sit, they entered and sat all over the floor. 3. After the end of tha match and before the prise giving ceremony, more than half of the crowd start moving out from the Stadium. At that moment, there was only a one small exit point and hence there was a big hustle and bustle. The place was dark without any light source. I felt that there is a huge risk of a major disaster due to a stampede. hope that as the competent Authority, you will read the above mentioned facts very carefully and give proper justice to the tickets we buy.
The R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium is an impressive venue for cricket enthusiasts. With its modern facilities and capacity to accommodate a large number of spectators, it offers a great experience for fans attending matches. The stadium's architecture and design are well-thought-out, ensuring excellent views from almost every seat. The ground's playing surface is top-notch, providing a fair and balanced contest between bat and ball. The pitch has a reputation for being conducive to high-scoring games, making it an exciting venue for limited-overs matches. Additionally, the stadium's amenities, such as food and beverage stalls, restrooms, and seating comfort, are well-maintained and convenient, contributing to a pleasant overall experience. However, like any other cricket stadium, it can get quite crowded during big matches, leading to long queues and limited personal space. Traffic and parking around the stadium might also be a challenge on busy match days. All in all, the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium is a fantastic place to watch cricket matches, offering a wonderful atmosphere and world-class facilities for fans to enjoy the sport.

This stadium located in Colombo, Sri Lanka is very beautiful It was established in 1986. This stadium can seat about 35000 people. It is one of the huge stadiums of Sri Lanka...Many important matches have been played in this stadium. It is the biggest cricket stadium of Sri Lanka... The final match of Asia Cup 2023 between India and Sri Lanka took place in this stadium on 17 September 2023 in which India won the final match with a brilliant performance.....That day the stadium was full of spectators and a crowd of thousands had gathered outside the stadium.
One of Sri Lanka's finest international cricket stadiums and one of the first stadiums in Asia to feature flood lights to host day and night matches. Capacity of 35,000 creates a stunning party atmosphere during games. Grand Stand and Blocks A and B provide best seats and views including the giant scoreboard as well as the digital screen. Multiple fast food and beverage outlets are available but slightly expensive compared to outside shops. Bringing in alcohol is strictly prohibited. However, a beer outlet within the stadium provides an alternative should you need a drink.
One of the most famous internationa cricket stadiums in Sri Lanka which can accomodate upto 35000. - 40000 crowd. Located in Maligawatta area it's the go to place for many cricket enthusiasts around Colombo. There is no open area and even the lowest priced tickets will have to cement steps to sit on and the protection from sun or rain. The ground is also known as 'ඛෙත්තරාම stadium'. Many important cricket matches has been hoisted here and it still do a massive service to the betterment of Sri Lanka Cricket.
Its not well maintained (eg- broken seats, seats are not cleaned, other minor issues) however its the best place in the country for the best views of the game. Probably the best electric atmosphere you can get during a houseful situation and of course when Sri Lanka is winning . Parking spaces need to be looked ahead of time. Seating inside the blocks are not allocated although you get the ticket. (Meaning you can sit anywhere you want within the block.)
R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium is situated in Colombo, Sri Lanka and has a capacity to accommodate around 35000 spectators. It has hosted games from all 3 formats of the game: Tests, ODIs & T20s. It is also the first stadium in the country which had flood lights installed in. This stadium has also hosted important matches such as the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy Final, 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup Semi Final & 2012 ICC T20 Cricket World Cup Final.
Block A upper is a good place to watch the match. Sometimes other ticket holders smuggle themselves in and crowds the place up. There should be a better control in segregating the crowd and ticket holders because sometimes it is uncomfortable for those who actually paid money for that stand. They should implement a type of colour coder wristbands or whatever so that people will get their value for money.
R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium is a cricket stadium on Khettarama Road, Maligawatta, Colombo, Sri Lanka It is the largest stadium in Sri Lanka with capacity of 35,000 If you are a cricket lover must be at least to be visit once to see a limited over cricket match playing at this stadium. Plenty of seats and easily can see the match at every angle
It is a field located in a very wide range and has been anxious to provide the view track with a good view for the ease of viewing. Various types of food are available inside here and smoking is not allowed inside the cricket ground. However, it is possible to watch matches with a good view and can be watched sitting with normal comfort. Recommended
Great Experience in the Ground. Visiting the stadium after a long time and enjoying the victory versus Australia, it was amazing. There aren't any significant changes in the pavillion but it's fine. Block A , B and Grand Stand are the best viewing sites in my opinion. Others Blocks are fine but sometimes you won't see the scoreboard and the LED screen.
Virat Kohli just love this stadium too much, many records for him at this cricket ground. One of Sri Lanka's finest international cricket stadiums Capacity of 35,000 creates a stunning party atmosphere during games. Bringing in alcohol is strictly prohibited. However, a beer outlet within the stadium provides an alternative should you need a drink.
I was seated on the 3rd gate side. Security is doing their job very well. The seat arrangement is good. They should have set up guidance boards to find the way to the stadium entry place, starting from the gate 3 entrance in a way that even a very first comer can find the stadium entrance very easily. Definitely the washrooms should be renovated.
Wend to watch Asia Cup 2023 finale between SL vs IND. If someone reading this befote buying a ticket for a match, I'd recommend C & D upper as a cheap but good place to watch a game. But try to find a seat far from the digital screen other wise you won't able to see the scree. C & D lower is good but make sure to find a good place.
One of the popular cricket play ground in Sri Lanka. I watched aus vs sl cricket match here. Unfortunately sl lost the match. Very good atmosphere and properly arranged seating as well. Visitors parking is huge problem. Lot of scammers around the ground be careful with them
An excellent cricketing experience in this international stadium. The view from the grand stand is very good and in the shade. Capacity of this ground is very high. Seating is also good on all levels. We watched SL vs AUS ODI match in 2022 and it was a great experience.
One of best cricket ground in SL. Recommended Seats - Grand Stand , Block A Block B ( clear ground view + score board). Fast foods are available on premises. But little bit expensive than outside shops. Alcohol is strictly prohibited. There is beer outlet in stadium.
The best international cricket venue in Sri Lanka, and one of the most popular cricket venues in the South Asian region. Has seating for around 25000. The area it is situated in is dodgy, with many hustler types looking to sell you scalped tickets and merch.
Well built Cricket stadium. Fantastic experience for Day and Night ODIs and T20Is. Earlier they played test cricket also. The world record for Highest test inning's total by a team is achieved here. Wonderful atmosphere when it is full. must go place.

Unmatched atmosphere to watch an international cricket match. But..had to deal with people lighting cigarettes almost every 5 mins in the face. :/ (Wouldn’t recommend the blocks near the scoreboard (upper and lower) to anyone)
Best Cricket ground in Colombo and my goto place is A Lower Level or Upper Level for a better cricket entertainment. And the ground staff next level make sure to let all matches happen even at harsh weather conditions.
Reasonably good ground with Cricket standards. Viewing is good, scoreboard and screen everything very visible. Cleanliness can be improved certainly. Please arrange a way to clean the seats
