My Doctor told me about a new shoe. I should check out Hoka for my left heel pain. But after trying them out with a staff member at this REI Co-Op store in Jax/Fl. I felt the ones I tried reminded me of the shoes Kramer once wore on Seinfeld to help him jump better. No Thanks and they didn't feel right to my sore foot. So the Sales associate woman helped me. Brought out NB Fresh Foam X 1080v12 New Balance shoes. I tried these on and they felt so much better to my feet. I was helped by two female Sales associates that helped me get my feet measured. And made me feel good about buying a higher end shoe. For example, I told one of them. I have three pairs of shoes. A dress shoe, a Dockside and a pair of sneakers aka running shoes. That 's it. So I spent $172.00 for a NB shoe because I had a sales associate help me find a better shoe. This is what I like in Customer service. I was helped when I was looking at a single gas stove. For I'm not a camper but sometimes I come across great prices even today when I'm in the mood to eat seafood. But the Harris Teeter will not boil or steam my lobster tail. And getting it to go only to have to drive all the way back to Ortega to eat it at my home seems a waste of time. So that is why I came to your place first to check on what you had. I also looked at the other items you had. But to be honest you really don't want me as a customer is how I felt. So be it your loss. I will buy my Lobster single gas stove from someone that really cares for my business.

Im disappointed. I had my bike assembled last year at REI near town center. My bike was riding perfectly prior to this issue. The jump stand on my bike was shorten. They cut the jump stand without my consent which I believe lead to the issue. My bike was originally assembled in Oregon with the same parts working perfectly. Now I can’t pedal my bike because the pedal hits the side of the jump stand. I had to take my bike in twice for the shop to readjust the stand. The issue persists and now my bike sits in my garage. I spent a good deal of money for my bike to be assembled at REI and I can’t ride it. The pedal hits the side of the stand leaving marks/dents. I was told that I need to buy a tool to adjust the stand every time I want to ride. This was never an issue before. My review is late, if anything I hope this can help the next consumer. The problem is now in my my hands to try to resolve. REI did issue a refund for my membership but not the cost of assembly. I should have just kept my bike in the box packed.

I was helped by no fewer than five employees - Zina, Megan, Greg, Kevin and Ken - who all “showed up,” engaged me with friendliness and respect, and had great attitudes. I had a return, a shoe sizing, used the fitting rooms, and made a purchase on something dangerous I’ve never used before (Permethrin) and every step of the way felt very well taken care of. We all shop at REI for the service right? but I’ve been in many Florida REIs and this one kinda blew me away. What a lovely morning I spent - thank you to the workers!

I’ve never shopped at an REI store before last night and now I know why. I went In specifically to look at their sneakers. The sneaker department is extremely hard to shop. Their displays could be easier to browse and their selection is awful. The guy working helped me with a pair to try on and in the 10 minutes interacting with him he probably mentioned a membership with them about 4 times. I couldn’t tell you if it was free or how much it would cost me. But I will tell you I will never shop at an REI again.

I've shopped here twice now to buy a aeropress and a peak design camera clip. It's a great store but I very much dislike being huranged about memberships. I was approached in the store while shopping about it and again was asked about it at check out. It felt quite forced. A better way to approach it would be asking if someone would like to hear about the membership rather then simpling breaking right into all the benefits or guilt tripping you at the check out.

Nice size store! I always stop by when I see there is an REI. This is in town center so expect congestion on the weekends. Especially coming in and leaving the shopping center. I parked near Ulta and walked over. Everything is in walking distance. The store had a nice set up, camping on the right. Bikes and shoes in the back. Clothes on the left side. Employees were super nice. They stopped what they were doing to answer questions and strike up conversations.

So when we come here, we come here. For specific things. Both times we have and been in need. They have been incredibly helpful and had exactly what we needed. And we were able to even get to a price point that we were comfortable With. We are about to take a trip to Paris and needed a pic pocket proof bag. They were very helpful and showed us a lot of options, and we got a bag that fits the bill and one with which my wife is happy.

A lovely store with friendly and helpful employees. As it is a CO-OP few things can be locked to members only for sales but that is not much, and the perks of the low cost membership can make it worthwhile and at least it is a lifetime membership. Be aware that the gear that is stocked is for the more serious outdoor person so you will not be able to find cheap items but items an enthusiast would want or need.

Tried to buy a shirt for my daughter, was told that the brand was on sale and you needed to be a member purchase the shirt. I was extremely confused by this. I asked if I could buy it at regular price. Was told no I cannot even purchase the shirt unless I have a membership. I'll be purchasing my outdoor stuff elsewhere from now on and informing others to avoid them wasting their time.

If you are looking for any type of outdoor gear, then REI is the place for you. They carry everything from clothing, canoes, bikes, shoes, camping gear, you name it they probably have it. I go here all the time even if I don’t need anything just because I love looking at all the items they have. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely check this place out!

What an awesome co-op! If you are looking for anything outdoor, this is a great spot. Outdoor, camping and hiking gear, clothing, shoes, canoes, bikes. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Lifetime membership for $30, and you get savings yearly as well. We sometimes just go to browse around and not actually buy anything because it's pretty cool in there.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. The store was clean and organized. A staff member immediately asked if there was anything he could help me find, I showed him a picture of the problem, and he was able to show me what I needed right away. Everyone was friendly. They have a wide variety of different outdoor equipment. I definitely recommend this location.

Love this staff and store. We have always loved the folks here. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. DeAngelo was incredibly helpful and so kind to us. He was very patient, even when we had him go back and get a couple of different options. Take advantage of the membership deals and trading in your used gear for store credit!

What a wonderful experience, time and time again! Best customer service I've seen in a big box store in many years! Manager Ken went well out of his way to help purchase the right accessories and install our rooftop tent. He and his staff go way over and above to make customers happy. We are so thankful for the amazing service.

Wonderful place , staff is always extremely helpful & polite. I go here for all my major kayaking supplies & my parents started getting into kayaking as well so they made their first Trip up there today & were helped with being fitted for shoes that offer great foot protection (especially against the oyster beds) & life jackets

Always a great experience in here, staff is always super helpful and if they don’t have something they’ll help you get it ordered and shipped to your house. Allison was especially helpful when I was looking for new hiking boots and when we returned a week later for some other shoes, she remembered my wife and my name.

I was there a few weeks ago to buy a new pair of shoes. The second I walked in the door, to helping me in the shoe department, and at the check out counter - the staff was excellent and superior. The REI in Memphis, TN had an excellent staff as well. It’s hard to find great customer service nowadays. Great job, REI.

This place is amazing. I like to do backpacking and have wanted to visit an REI. I finally got a chance... my mind is blown. They have so many things to choose from. Definitely the best place for camping, and hiking gear. Not to mention the staff was outstanding!

I went to the REI Bike shop today at 12. Noon. My fat tire ebike had a rear wheel flat tire. I was hoping to have it fixed the same day since it was early. I was told that the inner tube size was not available and that I could order it

Lots of different sports and outdoor items, their fitting rooms were clean and the staff were nice. I didn’t find a pair of running shorts that I liked but got some small things and enjoyed looking around at the other items.
