If I could give this place zero stars, I honestly would. I used to come here for years and haven’t come in a long time until tonight. My friend and I arrived later in the night, I got a glass of water and my friend got a drink. I eventually went back to get another glass of water and the black bartender didn’t want to refill my glass, told me to go back to the bartender who gave me the water to begin with. he proceeded to throw a water bottle at the DJ behind us who then sprayed my friend and I. This bartender signaled the DJ to do this…I don’t understand why someone would deny a customer tap water. If I don’t want to pay for a bottle of water, then I should be able to get my glass of water refilled. I truly feel sorry for this bartender and the way he mistreats people and gets away with it. This place used to be fun and it’s safe to say I won’t be returning here anymore. I pray this man gets the help he needs because he seems to enjoy being rude to people for no reason.

Do not recommend this bar solely off of the rude bouncer in the entrance the bigger, in his late 40s one. He said I couldn't get in because of my shoes and after I saw other girls get in with the same ones the other bouncer said it was okay. After that they said they had to take my boyfriends blunt so he wouldnt smoke it inside. Who smokes inside a club? All this even though it is legal. It was one blunt, clearly not enough for distribution, so when my boyfriend asked if he could pick it up after, they said no that he was going to keep it for himself. The old bouncer was very degrading with his tone the entire time and would've made it uncomfortable anyways so we left after we decided to not let him steal his blunt because his attitude was honestly not worth it. If you look at the other reviews you see he is mentioned in other complaints also. Just be wary if you do decide to go and look out for the big, old man at the door.

I was in chicago for my honeymoon. We figured we would check this place out to keep our night going. Bouncer told me i didn't meet the dress code because i had a tshirt on....so i pointed out several men coming out with tshirts and then he changed his story to my shirt was 'graphic' because it had the deadpool logo in a corner of the shirt. I left with no fuss but i looked up their website which lists the dresscode as 'proper' attir e...Whatever that means, but it does list hats/caps and graphic tees as unacceptable. However in most of the photos of this place on google we can clearly see patrons with baseball hats/caps. I only have 1 experience but this place seems highly discriminatory with their vague changeable dresscode that isnt even enforced equally so id recommend wearing a suit or going elsewhere

Got all of my things stolen out of my coat while it was in coat check… I utilize coat check in order to feel secure with my belongings however, this establishment has ruined that experience for me. Nicer clubs in Chicago actually offer free coat check and never steal from within your pockets. This 2star club (imo) charges $4 and will steal your gold earrings out of your pocket, along with rings, cash, and AirPods. I have been trying to reach management however, there is no way to do so. Any club that doesn’t even have a safe coat check, is not a club I would recommend or visit again. Forever will talk down on this place bc I never expected my coat to get ran through in a coat check that I paid and tipped for all while having a table and spending 3k. Pathetic.

Very rude bouncers and expensive drinks watched out. My mexicain friend arrived after me. The big black and a white tall bouncers they didn't let him in. He called me i went out and ask him why he can't he said only reservation it was like 10:45 pm. But they were letting in those young white kids in which don't have any reservation or bottle service. I was standing their just watching i couldn't believe it. Its only white young people who gets in. If your not white they tell them only reservation. I am very disappointed and discussed by the way they treating other races. This is not fair. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I was with a group a friends, 2 guys including me and 2 girls. We got here at 10pm on a Saturday which is the time they open according to Google and the bouncers were outside, no line at all. I approached the tall guy in a suit and he mumbled something I could barely understand and continued chatting to the other bouncer. I asked what? He then yelled at me saying "we're not open yet!" Then the other bouncer further explained that they're not open yet since they are still setting up the bar... Okay understood was that so difficult to say?? I've seen this same tall guy yell at several other patrons. I wouldn't bother coming here just because of this unwelcoming fellow pushing away potential patrons.

It’s not being highly selective if you ONLY LET WHITE PPL in. Don’t go if you’re a POC they will not let you in. If you’re a guy group will def not let you in unless you’re white even if you’re trying to get a table. Do it online so they don’t turn you away. Don’t let the black security guards confuse you they probably get paid good to turn away everyone. 2x this happened to my group and we had a good amount of girl all dressed for clubs this time came early cause maybe last time was packed nope, watched the security tell us our group is too big (7) and come back later and watched him let a group of white ppl some together but more than 10 ppl.

Bouncers we’re some of the worst people I’ve ever met. My friends arrived before me, and out of the 10 of us, I was the only person they requested a cover from. Cash only. My options were to go home (because they yelled at me for standing outside), or go to the nearby atm where I was harassed and threatened by homeless people. When I returned, separated from my friends (many of which were women), the bouncer said no guys allowed. When I explained my situation, he proceeded to ask me about my genitalia. When I politely told him that those questions were rude, he responded that I “don’t belong here.” Place needs to be investigated, or a staff overhaul.

This is the worst place to come and spend your money!!! Much better options down the street. They need to do something about the the people they have working the door. It is usually off duty cops or something along those lines, that were picked on in school with built up aggression and no education and that is why they are working as bouncers in their 30s or 40s. I am not one to put people down for what they do but when a person is treated with such disrespect just cause of the color of their skin or because dude is having a bad day It has to be known. So everyone please remember Roc Bar is a pass. Trust me much better spots down the street.

Owners underage son is running this Bar ! How illegal is that ? By the way for everyone who has forgotten your cards, phones, wallets here they have them and enjoys telling you they are not responsible for left items. However , there bartenders will describe your items and and tell you that they are there and the manager will not give you back your property because they are too lazy to look for them. Do not GO here! They will not return any missing items left from customers ! They will simply Steal your stuff ! I will be calling authorities today if I do not receive a call back being that I am tracking the item at the address.

Leaving a review in here is one of the ways to communicate with the place owner... We were 3 ppl, came here, spent more than $1k on drinks (2 bottles of Champagne plus cocktails) and we were thrown out of the place!!! The security guards said that myself started a fight against of 6+ ppl!? Doesn't sound weird?!!! Just think about it... I left more than $1k in this place that night and this is a way how the club threats its customers? I wish this kind of situations won't happen and I hope that the owner reads my review and appreciates his customers in better way.

We had a table reserved and they let a whole group in before us and I explained we are trying to meet our friends there who have already gotten in and are waiting. When I asked the employees name they refused to disclose their names they stated they are only allowing those with reserved tables.. I gave them the name. They didn’t look. They acted hostile and wouldn’t even look me in the eye. I gave up. Horrible service and because it’s a busy city they can be as rude as they please. Horrible experience for visiting Chicago. Don’t support a horrible business.

This club has 2 floors, actually 1st floor and basement, and party goes until 5am. Music was super nice, old and new hits remixes. It was very interesting how atmosphere changes between the 2 floors. The stairs to get in the basement are a journey and you have to go down if you want to use the restroom. Security is friendly, but it is really inconvenient to have the staff clean all the time all around you as people are dancing and moving. Drinks here are not so nice. Tasted bad. Just for the music and dancing I would recommend this place.

Was walking by and decided to give this place a try. They said they were done for the night. I stood by there looking at my phone trying to find other places near that were open. Security was like you can't stand here. I asked if they knew a place that was good near there still open. They said your Mexican right try ***** they got alot of Mexicans there. While this is going on some Caucasian men walked right in. Made me wonder why I would spend hard earned money to be around superficial downright racist establishment.

Racist, prejudice like liquor box. They only allow white people in. Told me and my friends that we could go to a strip club if we want too. If you see black security there they are c**ns and work for them. They made us wait outside while over 40 white people skipped the line WITH nothing but a word SAYING "we got a spot" told us they were over crowded. I'll be reporting them. And liquor box. Stop going to clubs in Chicago when you can go to the nearest burbs where it's safer, cheaper, FREE PARKING and respectful.

Literally save your money and your time. This club is honestly just poorly staffed with big ego rude bouncers and bartenders. I see everyone reviewing this place and I've witnessed almost every instance of the staff being rude and racist. Literally asked for water at the bar and the dude looked at me as if I asked him for his kidney and ignored me. The really big dude that’s always standing infront of the door Thursday-Saturday is very rude and always seems angry at the whole world for no reason. He told my friends and I that we couldn’t get in without being on the guest list. One of My friend was a colored person, meanwhile he let the white guys next to us go in without being on the guest list. He always has an attitude everytime I TRY to go in there, and is very very unprofessional. If you see him at the door, it’s just best to turn around.

Cool upstairs, but pretty empty when I went. Music gets good around 12:30am. Downstairs was a dressed-up frat basement. The lights in the basement switch between cool party lights and bright white office lights. Same energy as the lights being turning on at a high school prom. Kills the vibe - get rid of the white lights, or don’t leave em on for so long. Speaking of high school, everyone there is suuuuuper young. I was surprised I didn’t see a pickup line outside lol. Honestly, would give this place a complete negative, below zero if I could. Completely racist, bigoted bartenders. It’s honestly barbaric how they’re literally a marginalized group and turn away other minorities. There was no line, I fully have a $115 ticket for new years. The latency of discrimination is a stain on the progressiveness that Chicago claims to ingrain in its culture throughout. It’s ridiculous for them to turn away potential consumers due to race (solely).

Very exciting visit to this night club. My only slight complaint (maybe not something to be upset about since you get more value this way) but the bar overserved like crazy. We asked for a vodka martini and they WRECKLESSLY overpoured it. The tequila on ice we asked for was also quite heavy. Bar service was very great though. They were giving off great energy and were attentive. Security was also very helpful.

Rude bouncers. Went on a Thursday and they didnt let me and my friends back in without paying cover even though we had been there prior. I also left my card and ID at the bar after having one drink. Came back the next day (since no one answers email or phone) and they didnt have my ID and Ichecked my account and they had charged me $100 plus a $25 tip. Music was good but I won't return, too many other great places in the city with good music and better vibes.

If I could give them negative stars I would have. Avoid this place. The two girls in the front taking cover payments will steal from you. The girl taking cash covers stole $20 from me and expected me to not notice. I had to basically argue with them to get my money back, and they eventually folded because they knew they were wrong and tried scamming me and my friends. Don’t go here at all. Spend your money somewhere else.

Went to rocbar to try it out. We got denied bc They were only taking reservations. While waiting some girls asked if that was the line and we said no and told them it was only reservations and they said omg we don’t have one but we’re gonna try to get in maybe bribe them. I don’t know if it was bc they were white or they did bribe them but they got in. So much for reservations only.

i have been trying to reach this club by both phone and email for about a week and have not heard a single thing back! i left something very important here the other weekend and just need to speak with somebody to see if they have found it but have been completely UNABLE to reach anyone!! if somebody could please reach out to me so i could quickly check with anyone here i would GREATLY APPRECIATE THAT!!!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. My friend lost her phone here and was searching for it. While she was looking, the over enthusiastic bouncers kicked her out. They didn't even hear her out and left a woman outside alone without any way to contact friends or family. They refused to let her back in. This place should get zero stars. The bouncers allowed me and my Latin female friend to enter no questions but when my two Black female friends came up to the bouncer they stated there was a guest list and would not allow them to enter. This was blatant racial profiling and places like this should not be supported.

Last Thursday I went with my ladys friends I spent for enter and a lot drinks I tiped the bartender and I was with my hand fan and one black secury kick me out like an animal and he stole my hand fan. Obviously I will not come back . We can't enjoy the night with frustrate secury.

Nice place and set up. However keep an eye out for the bartenders especially the GIRLS!. They will over charge you for a drink. So look at it as if they already included their tip. Order drinks from the guys instead or pregame

Went on a Thursday night, $10 cover fee for a great time. Drinks are average prices, bathrooms were clean and they also have a coat check which is a plus. I look forward to going back!
