"I hate to say this but Rainbow Dragon has really gone down hill"
"Last week we ordered food to go"
"I absolutely adore Rainbow Dragon! The food is middle of the road, tasty enough but not, like, OMG"
"The food used to be better a few years back but the staff is Always very positive and it's never super crowded"
"This place is our favorite Chinese food restaurant by far"
I hate to say this but Rainbow Dragon has really gone down hill. I used to love it growing up. The Kung pow is 90% celery as well as the other dish ordered which was cashew chicken. The cashew chicken wasn't very flavorful and taste like it was all just steamed or boiled. The onions in it taste steamed or something which I think is gross. I usually love onions. I say you can never have too many onions in food. Anyhow I was just trying something different than my usual go to place. Same type of order I get but more expensive and way less food. Which is something I've noticed with a lot of Chinese restaraunts lately. Another reason why I just stick to my usual place too cuz you get that old fashioned serving size. On the plus I did like their hot and sour soup and that they gave spring rolls instead of egg rolls with the dinner. No crab puffs though.

Last week we ordered food to go. My got home and said they had forgotten my sesame chicken but they gave us sweet & sour chicken. She took it back and they told her that was sesame chicken. She pulled up sesame chicken on her phone and showed them. They said not everyone makes it the same way. Now I know sometime things vary from restaurant to restaurant but this was clearly not what we had ordered. They insisted we got sesame chicken. I told her to just come home. I took it back down there and told them they could keep it cause it wasnt what I ordered and they lost any future business from me. Dont give me sweat & sour chicken then tell me its sesame chicken. Every 5 year old know what sweet & sour chicken is.
I absolutely adore Rainbow Dragon! The food is middle of the road, tasty enough but not, like, OMG. What really makes this place is a combination of the HUGE portions, inexpensive pricing and fast friendly service. I have been going to Rainbow Dragon for years and always look forward to their crab puffs and heaping platefuls for under $10. Always lots of leftovers. This place is an unpretentious and accessible blessing to the working class clientele (myself included) of East Portland's (rather rough) "Numbers" neighborhood who don't need fancy, just tasty and filling for a fair price.
The food used to be better a few years back but the staff is Always very positive and it's never super crowded. Still one of my goto favs for dining in.

This place is our favorite Chinese food restaurant by far. They have totally the best crab puffs in Portland. I always get sweet and sour pork and fried shrimp here too. The chow mein is great. The food is always hot and fresh with huge portions. I wish I didn't move so far away from rainbow dragon.

I absolutely love and adore this place! No it's not fancy but it's homey. The food is tasty and comforting with generous portions! Henry and his family are awesome people who work their butts off to keep this place going! Quality is consistent, I've been going here all my life basically and will always return whenever I can!!

Food just as bad as I remembered it years ago. Dusty slightly dirty ittle hole in the wall restaurant offers casual dining with subpar generic Asian food friendly service with basic food.

Large portions for the price is the only nice thing I can say. Food was bland other than the hot and sour soup. Didn't matter anyways as I ended up getting sick from this food. Should have just walked out when I heard a regular joking with the employee about abortion. Never again.

I want to like this place due to its close location to my boyfriends house. Every time I order a chicken dish, it’s just not good. All the veggies are cooked well and crisp and the soups are very flavorful.

Might not want to listen to Sophy. Not a real fan of this person. Been going to Rainbow Dragons for 25+ years and have seen no real change in portion size for the money compared to others restaurants.

Any time I order Chinese food, I order from here. The salt and pepper shrimp and the sesame chicken are fantastic. I love the pork fried rice too. The service is always friendly, the only reason I would order Chinese food anywhere else is if they're closed. More
Our entire family loves eating here! We have had family dinners there for many years! The food is outstanding and plenty of it,! Henry and Jen could not be nicer! If you don't try it ,you are missing out! Prices are wonderful in this day and age!
I can't really judge the food because we were told that there was no dine in at that time of night which was 830pm. To their credit they have it posted that they close at 9pm but I didn't know that. However I have eaten here in the past it
My first visit. Employees were friendly. I was able to easily place my order and had to wait less than 5 minutes to get my food. It was a late lunch and they weren't too busy. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my food. I mentioned I hadn't been
Omg I went in for takeout and ordered 3 combo plates... this huge bag came out that probably weighed 10 pounds... one combo plate will seriously feed two or three people. To top it all off the food tastes great! The egg rolls are the size
The guy always cranks um out real fast, and with a happy kind of smile that makes you know he appreciates you in a genuine way. It's just him and the cook, so give them a bit more time and please support there efforts/ bizz. The good is
We ordered carry out: the Szechuan family dinner for a group of three. When I lifted the bag upon pick up, the weighed like 15 pounds! So much food!! When I got home and spread the food out across the dining room table, it felt
We've lived in the neighborhood for almost 20 years, but found another Chinese restaurant that is terrific, so we never looked any further. This month(April 2021) we heard about the shameful vandalism that was done to
Got to take out meals. Put it on a plate ate a couple of bites and then threw it in the garbage. I was glad that the meals.are pretty reasonably priced. So I think I’ll go to Panda Express next time.
This is a good place for American Chinese. Everything is hot, fresh and tasty. Pork fried rice has actual pork in it! Vegetarians don't have many options unfortunately ( no tofu in sight☹️)
Several years ago, they changed how they made thier food. It was awful for the longest time, thereafter. It's kinda sad that they are only just now changing it back to the really good
Currently to go orders only as of 07/02 but bar is still open and video lottery is available. So you can go in place an order and wait :)
If ur stuck up ain't ur kinda place nothing like a gud stiff drinks love good food and 9 out of 10 times I always cash out on ding ding
Absolutely amazing pan fried noodles. Friendly staff. Unbeatable luncheon prices. Very quick service. Clean, good food.
