In the aftermath of the tornadoes and high winds that troubled Ottawa in 2018, I had a very hard time finding an electrician to fix a dire problem at the house. Had no power, and Hydro wouldn't turn it back on until we fixed our conduit that brings power into the house. After calling about 8 companies, who all told me it would be at least 2 weeks before they could send someone to me, ReadandRead Electrical heeded the call within a few days. Fixed our problem, got it inspected, had hydro back there all in the same day. And for a very reasonable price. Mike was a great guy who got the job done in timely fashion, while being very friendly and efficient. I definitely recommend this company for residential jobs in the Ottawa/Kanata area! We found Read & Read through Google Maps/Reviews and took a chance on an unknown vendor.  The result? A professional installation that exceeded our expectations.  The scope of the job was to wire the stove in our new outdoor barrel sauna.  Mike worked with us early on to learn if we needed a new service panel (we did not). He worked around pandemic-related delays and parts shortages which caused us some frustrations but he didn't cut corners, he waited until he could do the job correctly.  In the end we not only got what we needed, we felt the look and feel of the wiring and access panels went above and beyond. A totally pro install. We would recommend Read & Read Electric without hesitation.

Mike was absolutely fantastic! We had an issue with some of the wiring in our patch panel (telephone patch panel). With young kids a non-functioning phone was a bit of a concern for us. Read & Read came out during a time when they were fully booked - got us up and running with a temporary fix (a part needed to be ordered for the full fix). They didn't even charge us for the temp. fix. My wife and I were blown away by the service, professionalism and kindness. A few weeks later our part came in, Mike sent us an email to confirm a time - again without a hitch - everything done top notch! A+ customer service, communication and workmanship. Can't recommend any higher!

Mike and his team came to do multiple projects on our century home including old baseboard removal, resolving outdated electrical components, light fixture removal and installing new fixtures, external lighting installation, adding grounding, adding GFIs and replacing older switches and receptacles. He was responsive, efficient, explained everything, and took great care in our home making sure everything was kept spotless as they worked. I asked him if we needed to replace certain items and he told us they were excellent quality, functioning well and likely wouldn't need replacing for a good number of years. I highly recommend his services.

We hired Read and Read to address the issues of power outages in certain areas and the aluminium wiring in our home. From the initial visit with Mike Read, we were impressed with his professional and knowledgable approach as well as his competitive pricing . He was able to quickly identify and resolve the power outage problem and carried out the addressing of the aluminium wire issue in a very efficient and effective manner within the timeframe and quoted cost. Mike Read and his crew did excellent work in our finished basement. They added 2 circuits to our panel and had to fish wires through some very tight areas. Have had Mike and his crew do all the electrical update in a kitchen rebuild. Work was excellent.
